Very nice hotel for £60/ night, clean and spacious room. Dinner at restaurant was excellent! Good size portions. Nice to have a bar and restaurant open on a Sunday evening when most of France closes down all day. Shame hotel.com allows hotel to advertise the spa and pool as part of the hotel rate when there’s a 35€ fee for the use of the pool and jacuzzi.
This hotel is a grand old lady from 1930’s. She is classic. The parts we saw have been restored in keeping with the original style. Our room was clean and a good size with ample storage space and work area. The bathroom was compact with everything necessary fitted in! We ate out but returned for coffee and a drink. They were both excellent and good prices. We found parking in the same street and paid a euro for the privilege. Berck_Plage is a seaside town and very busy in the summer. The hotel is away from the main area so was quiet. Main area and beach start within 250metres.
Okay for location.
This hotel is in a lovely place and very close to the beach. I was shocked to find out it was an extra €35 to use the pool. When you book a hotel because of the pool ypu don't expect to pay extra.
Large Room but a bit dated
The location of the hotel is convenient. Unfortunately, there was no parking at the hotel available when we arrived. We were able to park on the road but would have preferred something more secure. The room was fairly large but the interior was a little run-down with stains in the carpet etc. The bed was confortable and large enough. The shower a bit old. There was no kettle or cups in the room and when I asked if that could be provided, i was told that this was not included in the Standard Room we booked which was disappointing. The hotel was full and there were a lot of families with children staying so we did not visit the pool area.
We liked the location. Disappointed that hardly anyone spoke English not able to obtain a menu in English. Disappointed we had to pay for the pool. Pool very busy too many people in the jacuzzi Sauna not working.Disappointed in our room as we booked a double superior room and it was two single beds pushed together. We both have more than eight flea bites each from sleeping in it. Car parking was also €6.50 a night these charges and the pool cost per day were not displayed in your advert.
Friendly English speaking reception staff. Really nice public areas inc Bar. Room was a bit tired and no tea or coffee making facilities. No fan or aircon
The Hotel Regina is in a good position with regards to the beach and the town center - and therefore local restaurants.Parking (in early September) on nearby roads and in car parks was plentiful. The hotel has a car park (6.5 euros) but we weren't offered it. The hotel decor is rather tired, the breakfast restaurant is like a school refectory (although the food was good) and the room was comfortable. The staff were the stereotypical French - sullen and unhelpful. When my wife attempted to speak French to them they laughed at her! Having been attracted to the hotel by the fact that it has a swimming pool it came as a disappointment when we were told that the pool could only be used by paying for the package of pool, sauna, Turkish bath, Jacuzzi - at a cost of 35 euros. I should have read other reviews before booking. It's misleading to show a picture of the spa facilities in the promotion of the hotel when such high extra charges are being made.
It was in the right location, room size great, bathroom very small shower cubicle to small to wash in WC in the smallest part of the room to small to wipe your ass you had to stand, Dining waiter great food not the best breakfast forget it naff is being polite will go back to Berck sur mer again but not to this hotel
Better than previous reviews
Was better than expected having read the reviews especially about clients being attacked by mosquitoes. This was not the case. We booked 2 standard doubles , one of the rooms was half the size of the other & quite pokey for 2 adults. Was clean though & did what we wanted an overnight stop. Berck itself is not somewhere I would return. Lacking in character & a bit run down
good value hotel
used this hotel as an overnighter travelling back to calais. its dated inside but very clean with great staff , didn't eat here at all. it is dated inside but for the cost of £69.00 it was good value
Older hotel but clean and great location, only a block to the beach.
Overnight stop
I was using the hotel as a stop over rather than a break so I am not reviewing the Spa or the location. The price was very reasonable. The parking was secure. The breakfast was nice. The hotel felt a little tired in some places. Some maintenance was going on and much of the interior felt more refreshed so it might get to the rooms and the exterior at some point. No air conditioning in the room was a bit of an issue during a heatwave making sleeping less easy. Overall it was good for the price.
At extra cost to use pool/hot tub
Stay was ok, learning about using the pool and hot tub was addition cost was very disappointing, as that was the only reason I booked this hotel. Also, I guess I paid for breakfast unknowingly... and does not look like I will get reimbursed for it, because I didn’t know I purchased it so I did not eat their breakfast.
Improve the sound insulation
The room is nice but there's no sound insulation. There is also a 35 EUR charge per couple for the spa . This isn't made clear ahead of time and is disappointing.
The swimming pool sauna and Jacuzzi and steam room
Great value hotel,
We had a great stay at the Regina. Rooms were basic but clean and functional. Our evening meal was very good and reasonably priced. Great location for the beach. Parking was limited and in high season might be an issue. Pool and leisure facilities pricey at 35€, especially if you only want a swim. Overall I’d recommend
Not a pleasant stay I would not recommend staying.
There was no mention on booking to book in for the carpark. The room was tired and I think the staff must be too they were less than helpful. The dining room staff were morose to say the least almost to the point of rudeness. We certainly would not stay there again. Oh and PS I understand you have to pay 39€ to use the pool :/
The third bed wasn’t confortable, too bad
Traditional hotel close to the beach
Large hotel, with a bar. Read online about the cost of breakfast and the quality, and yes those reviews were right: expensive and poor. However, the evening meals were good quality and choice and compared favourably in price to outiside. So, we only had breakfast once but eat dinner twice. We found the staff didn’t speak English, as mentioned on the website by previous users. Would use again if ever in the area.
Holiday for six
Beds were a bit hard and lacking comfort other than that all ok. Shame it costs €35 to go to spa per room. With our family we use two rooms however they did discount to €45. Still a lot to use a pool
Annoyed pool hours limited extra 12 euros
Close to beach Room comfortable Zero amenities not even laundry bag Kettle useful for only 1 tiny cup each coffee Renovation needs work staff at reception unhelpful for restaurant suggestions Pool supplement unreasonable with 40 minutes before closing too early at 8 and opening late at 9
A Hotel I Shall Revisit.
We were very impressed with this hotel and its staff. They changed us to a more suitable room when they learned my husband had recently had spinal surgery. The waiter helped me choose gluten free food though there was no provision for this on the menu. I think my lack of French and their lack of English caused me to be given a plate containing pasta, which if made from wheat is like poison to a coeliac like me, The plate of food I eventually received was very late, cool and a very small portion. I always present to restaurants , in their native language, information cards produced by the Coeliac Society, informing them of foods I can eat. These foods are basically meat, fish, veg, fruit, cheese etc as long as they do not have wheat, rye or oats in any form, e.g. gravies, sauces.
Not for me thanks
Very disappointed with hotel, my husband went fishing and I booked the hotel as they had a swimming pool, the charge for the use of the pool is 35 euros per day for admission to the spa. I explained I only wanted to swim but they refused the charge is per room. I was staying there for 7 days so that would have been 245 euros to go for a swim. the room we had was very old and tired and the bathroom could be updated, however it was clean. The room was very hot and when you opened the windows the mosquitos came in, we had to purchase a plug in mosquito repellent which did work quite well. The wifi didn't work at all for 3 full days we kept getting told technical problem. I felt somewhat isolated as they had not one English speaking channel. There was no air condition, no coffee maker or kettle. The location of the hotel is very good near to the beach. I feel the hotel suffers from delusions of grandeur. The main focus of the hotel seems to be the spa. I won't be returning.
Reasonable based on price. Needs a little TLC
Staff was mostly friendly. Restaurant was out of both items we wanted to eat, so I can't say anything about the quality of their food. The room was very basic. I believe it was one of the rooms that hasn't been renovated so take that for what it's worth. Overall it just feels a little tired and in need of a thorough going-over, but it is clean, secure and inexpensive.
Ok stopover
Needed somewhere for the night following long drive to Dover/Calais. Previously stayed here 10 years ago. Hotel undergoing repainting and town attempting to reinvent itself. Town has suffered since last visit and hotel not as nice either. Will not be returning here again.
Really nice
Really nice hotel and staff. Could do with a spuce up but very comfortable.
Nice but flawed
Not made clear on booking use of swimming pool 35 euros per day not per stay. Tea and coffee facilities in room very basic had to ask for refill also no milk.Having said that hotel is nice and room very good with large bathroom.
Luckily we only had to stay1 night in this hotel..
We had a rather disappointing stay at Regina. Entering our room already made us think it used to be a smokers room where they simply removed the ashtrays to make it a non-smoking room. Or was the bad smell caused by the dirty carpet ? My husband got trapped in the bathroom as there was no door handles and could only free himself by using a pocket knife. When we checked out the following morning we told the ladies at the reception but in stead of an apology we got an annoyed look and it was very obvious that they were not going to do anything about that bathroom door.
Lovely and relaxing
Lovely relaxing stay Hotel was a little dated but had clearly been recently decorated to a good standard Staff could have been friendlier No tea:coffee making facilities which was disappointing
Hotel needs improvement
The location of the hotel was good, it's not so far from the beach and plenty of restaurants nearby. The hotel itself needs improving, it's got good potential to be good, but it needs doing up, room is so tight. There are plenty of hidden charges like parking fee and the use of their swimming pool. It wasn't mentioned by the hotel staff that we have to pay extra for the use of swimming pool, and so we asked them for pass, by the time were checking out, we had to pay €6.50 for parking then €35.00 extra for the use of swimming pool.
The hotel is very tired as is the surrounding area and the room was small but at least clean.
It's a nice hotel, nothing amazing though. Looks like an old hotel that has been refurbished relatively recently. Our room was very small, but we didn't need anything bigger. Very good central location in Berck. Ample parking nearby. We didn't have breakfast and didn't use the restaurant or any other facilities so can't comment. Weather was relatively warm in April, I am not sure if this hotel operates 365 days a year - but if does, that small radiator did not look very convincing. Overall though, pleasant hotel.
Cute hideaway
Perfect little last minute booking
Perfect Location, Great Value for Money
Huge hotel, very close to the beach. Our room was a good size, bathroom looked to have been refurbished. We didn't make use of many of the facilities as we ate in a restaurant in town for our evening meal. The breakfast was fine though. Staff were friendly.
Room was clean & tidy with plenty of space, although the bathroom could have done with a proper shower and not just a hand held spray over the bath
Pleasant comfortable hotel
Used as a base for brief visit to Somme area. Comfortable, clean hotel; nice breakfast buffet.
Quiet weekend away
Nice hotel. Friendly enough staff although a lack of bar and reception staff at times.
Sinon chambre tres propre. Pas déçu de l'hotel !
A découvrir absolument
Personnel aimable. Propre. Un peu vintage ! Mais correct.
Bon séjour Bien situé
Bonne localisation - grande chambre
Ontbijt was ok. Spa was recent en mooi!
Hôtel Régina | Hotel in Berck-sur-Mer | Travala.com
Located close to night life & the beach. Good clean hotel. shower was small & I'm not a fan of Louvered doors on the toilet hearing every thing going on.
