Our window face to the street, we can hear noise of speedy cars, but it is not fault of hotel. The staff of front deck is polite and professional. The breakfast is fresh and good quality.
Lovely welcome with an extremely polite receptionist who showed me to my room. Clean and seemingly brand new bathroom and great comfortable bed with soft sheets. Lovely breakfast too.
First visit back after 24 years and the property has been significantly upgraded in that time. Still a lovely location with a beautiful view of the beach and easy access to local transportation and restaurant options. Great place to stay!
This place is a hidden gem on Lido and located right next to the beach. The staff was great and they offered a nice breakfast.
Was a great place to wind down from a crazy busy few days in Venice. Hotel is in great shape, clean and the free buffet breakfast offered both hot and cold options. My only suggestion, not a complaint, is to stay on higher floors if facing the street. We were on 2nd floor and could hear the loud traffic, even though windows were closed.
Fantastic staff. Fantastic location!
Fantastic location on the beach .... near Exelsior Hotel nice rooms good bfast only handicap is there is no public area or cafe or hang out terrace outdoors .... Friendly and helpful staff !
Perfect base!
Excellent location with bus stops nearby. Staff very helpful and friendly. We had a room with a balcony which was at the side of the hotel, but still had a view of the sea. Good choice of food for breakfast- hot and cold. Rented bikes for a day from the hotel at a reasonable price. Would definitely stay here again and would advise anyone going to Venice to stay on the Lido and stay here. Best of both worlds!
Great property
Staff were lovely and beach was great.
We trid to upgrade the room to include a balcony. We were only able to get the upgraded room for 3 of the 4 nights. Tbe other night we got a handycap room, but at a surcharge of 180 euros over the basic room price. The room was not co venient and not nearly worth the extra cost.
excellent.
Good
Excellent
Everything was perfect. Large room and, bathroom with a spacious shower. My only suggestion would be to add a dresser with drawers (or equivalent space) to put away clothes for clients who are staying more than a night or two and like to unpack.
Great staff and great accommodations. Would come back the next time I’m in Lido.
The room was pretty much as the pictures presented The minibar had only water (the menu was bigger) No slippers or bathrobes (you would expect that at 4 stars) The WORST PART is that we came in October and the nights were pretty cold and there was no heat. the staff was great though
G Very good hotel next to nice beach
The staff was very friendly
Amazing
The hotel was in a perfect location! Right on the beach. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was delicious and we will definitely stay at this hotel when we turn to Venice.
Perfect location on lido, right on the beach, 5 min walk to bus. Large room, decent air conditioning. Very nice staff.
Very good location,
X
The staff were very attentive and helpful The bar was closed and air conditioning not very effective
1. First room booked did not correspond at all to our expectations. Little tiny and no sea view. 2. In second room allocated, we had to interrupt the ait condinioning which was leaking. 3. Third room was nice but staff tried at check-out to apply an extra cost for upgrade, despite the inconvenience we had on first day. 4. Unlike publicized on website, the hotel doesn't have a private beach.
Rooms very clean and spacious. Outside areas poor and scruffy. Breakfast poor, scrambled eggs and boiled eggs old, toaster machine a danger and cereal not very nice.
The Staff Service was excellent. Very nice breakfast
The hotel is in a nice location, and the gentleman who checked us in was wonderful. He gave us a map, and explained the bus and water bus routes, and marked good restaurants that were close by. He was very pleasant and helpful. The room was okay, the bed comfortable and the room quiet and nicely sized, with a balcony which gave a glimpse of the Adriatic Sea. The bathroom was quite narrow, though, making it difficult to step out of the shower and dry off without bumping into the tub or wall. Our air conditioning worked poorly, as well... it seemed as though it didn't work at all the first night. And the biggest reason I booked the hotel was because I thought it advertised that a washer and dryer were available, but in actuality, it offered a laundry service, which of course was expensive. I ended up hand washing our small garments in the sink, and we paid the hotel to wash 6 larger garments, which cost quite a bit of money. I would definitely stay again, but would make sure I had enough clean clothes before my stay, and make sure the ac worked. The room also had usb ports to charge devices, which was a nice surprise. We loved the quiet location and its proximity to restaurants and several small stores.
Very Nice! I’m here after the season. So it was a great deal on a high end hotel. I’ve never stayed at such a nice hotel! The man at the desk, when I checked in, deserves a raise for being perfect.
nice hotel would like it better if it had a bar and coffee /tea maker in the room would not stop me going back to it
I could not find this place, I called the hotel and I got no proper direction to the hotel. When I email the property, all they were concern about is that I had to pay for the reservation. They never ask about my safety or do I have other accommodation. Not fair they making me pay for this place when I couldn’t find it. Also the reply was so rude. DO NOT STAY!!!! Read others comment if you think I’m being mean, you will get about the same reply
Out of season
Very short stay buth ok
Good location and very friendly staff Had big issue with alarms randomly going off which kept everyone awake during one of the night's stay Also WiFi didn't work for a whole day Not sure if would stay again or recommend
A lovely trip
Great trip and enjoyed being on the lido for second trip to venice. Nice to escape the crowds. Transport options are ecellebt from this hotel with buses running every 10 minutes and water buses very regular too. The hotel front is a seperately owned beach and the beds are expensive 70 euros per day so we walked to the free beach approx 10 mins away. Also if you buy a touriat ticket its 20euro per day for unlimited bus and boat however its cheaper to buy a 2 day pass for 30 euro if you are staying for more than 1 day. Hotel staff were lovely and room was a very good size. Cleaning was not perfect however fresh towels brought each day and bed made which was a nice touch as sometimes this is not done elsewhere. Would definetly recommend stopping at tye hotel overall as good standard for the price.
Hotel was close to the beach but you can’t actually use the beach without paying for the amenities. First room we were allocated smelt really bad with cigarette smoke so we moved rooms. Second room was a lot better with a view of the beach. Good selection at breakfast lady who works in the breakfast room was very helpful and polite. The reception staff let the hotel down as they aren’t as helpful as they should be they need to understand that guests are new to the area and they need to explain more when I guest asks a question they were abrupt.
Comfortable hotel on the Lido
Nice comfortable hotel. Our room had a side view of the ocean with a small balcony. The beach immediately behind was nice but the hotel only has one cabin. We had to walk along a little bit and use another bit of the private beach. €25 for 2 sun beds and a brolly although as it’s Venice the beach wasn’t a priority
Great place and staff. The thing that threw me off was the fact that, while it's on the beach, it has no real beach access.
Beautiful view of the beach and the breakfast was ok. That’s where the good ends. There were no outlets in the washroom and we had to unplug the tv to use the outlet in the bedroom. My husband had to go to the front desk at 10pm when we returned from a long day of sightseeing because we had no toilet paper and no soap. We happened to be in our room one afternoon after the room had been made up and the housekeeper just walked in. The paint was peeling off of the wall in the shower and there are simply too many other things to list that you would not expect from a hotel of this caliber. For the price that Petit Palais charges, you would be better off spending the extra couple of hundred a night and stay at the Excelsior next door. This was an extremely disappointing stay.
The beach was beautiful. The rooms were small but clean. Bed was comfy!
Great hotel in front of the beach
It was really nice that this place was right outside of the beach, so we had a great view! It wasn't too far of a walk to go to the public, free beaches if you didn't want to pay 25-70 euros to go onto the private beaches. The staff was very helpful with all questions we had and had a lot of recommendations for us. The beds were hard for my comfort, but overall a great place and location!
Poor wifi Small room
Beware of this property. My bank found they sent through a test charge on our account a month ago of a few cents and then this past week put in an outrageous charge for a three day stay that we did not authorize. The reservation was was supposedly made by us through an Expedia UK account of which we do not have. The only email we received was how was check in and sorry your plans changed - no confirmation or itinerary email which had I “accidentally “ made the reservation I would have been able to cancel with the confirmation email Expedia always sends out and I have received in every other reservation. When calling this property they rattled off very proudly all of my information and refused to cancel the upcoming days on the reservation. The woman also refused to let me talk to anyone else at the property regarding the matter.
Everything was as expected. Great location, couple of restaurants around the hotel. Other shops and restaurants are 10-15 minutes away. The beach is across the hotel (sandy beach).
Facilities lacking. Thought there was a snack bar but there wasn't. silly to have hotel on the beach and then be told beach is really private and you need to pay 25 or 70 euros for a sunbed. No evening drinks. Have to get bus to eat at selection of restaurants.
Venice Lido May 2019
Hotel was very pleasant Lovely Breakfast
Good location, away from busy city. AC needs attention , not working properly.
No hot water for 2 days, shower tray over flowing!
Very disappointing!! On day 1 we tried to have a shower before going out but the water was cold, informed reception they said they would have to call a plumber. It was fixed by the next morning. Day 2, shower tray was blocked so the water wouldn’t go down quick enough so water went over the shower tray over the bathroom floor. Informed reception. Day 3, no hot water and shower tray was still overflowing. Informed reception only to have a rude young girl inform me that no hot water was due to the weather to which I replied “are you telling me that the weather effects the water temperature”? To which she shouted back “yes the weather does effect the temperature,” I just turned around and walked away as I didn’t want to start my final day having an argument. On a positive note the two older gentleman who where on reception during our stay where very friendly and when I did complain over the water being cold or the water coming over the tray they where very apologetic. There is also no wi-fi at all on floor 2. When we arrived I tried to connect to the wi-fi in my room but couldn’t. So I went down to reception to check that I was using the correct code, the gentleman on reception told me that I could only connect to the wi-fi downstairs which it did first time, but by the time I got to my room there was no wi-fi coverage. We stayed in room 201. I have tried to attach 2 pictures that show the shower tray overflowing but for some reason they won’t upload.
Good service, nice breakfast, near beach, good bed, towels changed daily. Negatives - no kettle in room and a 20 minute walk from waterbus stop to hotel. Bus every 10 minutes or so.
Friendly helpful staff. A good base to explore the Venice Laguna. Nice sea view.
Petit Palace - Lido Italy
I have stayed at this hotel several times while visiting Venice, Italy. The staff and service is fantastic...very comfortable and clean. Well maintained. We love being right on the beach in a quiet location away from Venice.
Ok - but needs attention to detail.
Nice hotel, however several things weren’t right. Rooms weren’t cleaned properly, glasses left in the room etc. bathroom was designed poorly - feet in the bath when I used it or side-saddle. Safe got locked and couldn’t get back in - no cold beers and kept forgetting to put them in the fridge in the bar. Ok - quick to order a taxi - no restaurant to eat - breakfast wasn’t great although staff were attentive.
Room way too hot. Had to sleep with window open on busy street with traffic. Otherwise, fine.
Happy enough considering the low price. It s a bit remote though requiring bus and boat journeys to get over to the main island.
On the beach. Nice staff. Very clean and nice bathroom
The property was small and hot the pictures were misleading on how small this place was. The staff was very nice but didn’t couldn’t really recommend attractions that would have made our visit better as in other hotels.
The hotel was change. The hotel i pay for is not the they you put me.
The hotel was lovely, right on the beach and good location to get to the boats to go over to Venice or other surrounding islands
Amazing friendly staff clean amazing breakfast very happy have already recommended this hotel to many of my clients in my salon thank you again
Its was very nice ands we liked the staff and room. I think the breakfast could be improved on but was OK.
Little getaway!
The hotel was lovely. So nice and quiet and a quick trip on the water bus to the mainland. Right on the beach. Breakfast was delicious! Would stay there again!
Great hotel with beautiful views. Good location and close to public transportation
Close to beach and main bus line, easy to walk to a few close restaurants
Nice small hotel on the beach
A small hotel with a reception and a breakfast room. Clean modern room with a balcony overlooking the beach, After spending the day in Venice with the busy grounds, it’s nice to go back to the lido for a nice meal in town then a short bus ride back to the hotel, definitely would recommend this hotel.
Nice hotel close to the beach, enjoy the scenery and the cabanas
Perfect for beach location, enjoyed the stay...breakfast wasn't the best....morning coffee must improve
Couldn't be better. Will stay again! Bravo Salvatore!
Enjoyed this hotel
Enjoyed a day on the beach The hotel arrranged a cabana Also a room upgrade
The staff is very good, I will be back again in this hotel , when I visit Venice!
Nice hotel , clean and comfortable , Friendly staff
Nice hotel close to the beach But no slippers, no cup for the tea , no ketle for hot water
Lovely location near the beach. Nice local restaur
Beautiful location near the beach. Nice friendly staff. Good quality and fresh breakfast. Really good WiFi.
Steps away from beach, far enough away from public beach access points so crowds are low here! Staff was amazing, helpful with travel plans and even prepared tea for us before we departed at 3am or arrived super late from tourist activities. We will be back again! J&S Murray Chicago USA
The hotel was cose to the beach and from our room we had a view of the ocean. But there werr several cabanas that we looked over to see the water. And the cabanas wete not our hotels. We were told we had to go to the free beach several blocks down or pay to rent a cabana from the hotel next door or rent a chair from the restaurant a few doors down. Beach towels were 2,50 ea a day. We were slightly disappointed.
2 night stay
Excellent location. Close to the beach and also short walk to town. Hotel room very clean. Breakfast very good. Only down side is air conditioning quite noisy
Good value for the area it’s in!
Good value hotel for the area it’s in! This is a nice hotel over looking the beach. On check in Barbara was amazing. Her English was brilliant and she talked us through everything we needed to know and pointed everything out on a map for us. From bus stops, to recommended restaurants and the best way to see Venice. Breakfast was more than sufficient and tasty. The lady running the breakfast was busy but more than happy to help us with a jug of hot water to warm the baby’s bottle. The hotel is modern and stylish. The only slight disappointments we had was the mattresses were hard and not very comfortable and the aircon just wasn’t powerful enough to cool the entire room, it only cooled the area near the door and not the sleeping area. Yes the shower room is small but we managed even with a 6 week old baby. We had a car and there is no parking and you are very lucky to find a space on the street opposite. But for the money in comparison to other hotels on the lido it was good value. Shame the ferry cost so much to access the lido. I should have researched more.
Hotel in a quiet area
Lido is small and friendly island and it was a nice place to stay while touring Venice. The staff at the hotel and people on the island were very helpful when it came to navigating water transit and the bus, The room was nice and breakfast was included. The room was quiet and reasonably clean although not imaculate.
Beach area was outstanding but very expensive!!! 70euros for a cabana on the beach. Had to rent a towel also from the hotel.
Just what a I needed - close to airport for flight next day. Nice surprise was beautiful beach and ocean view and cafe only 2 minutes down the road
Friendly staff, hotel in a good location and very good value for money.
Needs a lot more soundproofing since the rooms on one side of the hotel are just a few meters from a major road that has traffic all day and night which is not great for sleeping.
Fantastic stay.
Clean hotel, courteous/knowledgeable staff, great location, good food, and reasonable price made for a perfect stay.
The photos of this hotel do it justice. The rooms are bright and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful and it is right on the beach. It is easy to get to the boat station by bus or taxi. For this price range, the hotel was excellent value.
The room needs a good clean the whole place is dowdy
Just come back from a 3 night stay in Lido de Venice. On arrival we were thinking of upgrading to a side sea view but were told we had already been upgraded to sea front view with wall to ceiling windows so could not fault the room.Wasnt expecting much with a continental breakfast but was pleasantly surprised with bacon and egg to go along with the cold meats/cheeses as well as the usual cereals yogurts and fruit/juices.so we didn't need to eat again till late in the afternoon.Plus the breakfast area is pleasant and relaxed. A special mention about the staff who were hlpful and friendly especially Marika who even printed boarding passes out for us so we could get back.
Birthday Trip
First time visiting Italy . This hotel was perfect for our first stay in Italy! Staff were amazing and hotel room was beautiful. The view was stunning!
Venice Lido
Short stay and hard to judge as it was closed season
Don’t book the Economy Double or Twin Room!
We were given a street-facing room on the first floor. The room was small, cramped and stuffy. Although advertised as having air conditioning, I was told by the night staff that the A/C had been turned off two days prior, due to ‘change of season’. He gave us a portable fan. However, we couldn’t keep the large windows open, as they opened right out on to the busy, loud street and sidewalk. They were not secure and anyone could have entered our room with minimal effort. We had to take turns sleeping while we tried to cool down the room at night. This was certainly not the relaxing experience promised by the hotel advertisement!
Good stay
Short walk to metro, beautiful interior, friendly staff. Only downside is that both neighboring buildings are empty and hollow.
Lovely hotel next to beach
Staff very nice, breakfast fine rooms were very clean . Would recommend
Very good hotel
I would go again. The view on the sea is beautiful. Very clean. Good breakfast. Comfortable beds
Lovely staff, dated decor
I had a very pleasant stay at the Petit Palais and my room was clean and functional. I was in a single room which, unsurprisingly, was quite small and without a balcony or sea view. The bed was a large single but rather hard (though this is obviously a matter of personal preference). A comfy chair would have been appreciated but the room was functional. The decor is rather dated though with acres of dark brown curtains (one coming off the rail at one end). One slight air rotation was that there was no WiFi signal in my room. Breakfast was nice enough (and on offer until 10:30 which is great) though as a vegetarian I avoided the egg and cheese as the implements were shared with meat choices. Hotels in Italy often include booked eggs which would have been good for me. Very nice bread though. The Lio beach and cafe next door are good (the cafe/restaurant serves excellent food overlooking the beach). Getting to the vaporetto stop is easy by bus (it's also walkable but not a great option in the heat of this summer) and it's incredibly quick to get to Venice. This is the first time I've stayed on the Lido and I'd definitely do it again.
Hotel on beach front
Hotel is in Lido a very beautiful island outside of Venice. Hotel is on the beach front, which was perfect to go to the beach except this beach is a private beach and you have to pay which wasn't clear when booking the hotel really. But we sunbathed until we were asked to leave. Hotel rooms were basic and had all the necessary essentials. Balcony overlooking the beach was nice. Hotel is a short walk from the bus stop and local shops. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and gave good advice and went out their way to make you feel at home, especially Carlo. Hotel gave a complimentary bottle of wine for our wedding anniversary and heated up our food on requests. They also rang local restaurants to see if they could accommodate my dietary needs for gluten wheat and dairy free products. They locked our hired bikes in their store. Overall the hotel was nice, basic and met our needs but the staff were excellent with good service and friendly. Would recommend and stay there again if in Lido.
Nice modern hotel
Great hotel. Excelent staff!
very small room. not my idea of a 4 star hotel.
Very small room and very noisy. How this has received 4.3 stars is beyond me. Wifi was very weak and caused a lot of expense.
Not recommended
Unfortunately the only bad experience I had in Italy was in this hotel. Air conditioning didn't work. Was very noisy. I asked in the reception about computer as I needed to make a reservation by internet and I couldn't do through my cell phone and they didn't have.
Hair and bugs
If you want to have hair in your bedsheets, dust all over your pillows, lousy customer service, and gigantic bugs in your room then book this hotel. There was hair in the bedsheets and dust on the pillows so we called the front desk and asked to change rooms. The old man owner said there were no rooms and there were extra pillows in the closet. So we took the pillows out and saw it had stains and dust, we took pictures and went downstairs to show him how dirty it was. He then said I can give you another room.. so he lied about not having any open rooms. He gave us another room, we asked if we can inspect the bed by removing the blanket, but he said we couldn't, take it or leave it. We decided to take the room, but after he left, we also found more hair on one of the twin beds. Whatever, it was getting late so I just cleaned up the hair with tissue. Then the 2nd night, we met a new friend. Mr. Centipede. See the hotel guest pictures I attached. He was so huge I thought it was from the Jurassic period. So, we asked the owner again to change rooms, and again, he said he had no more rooms available. I told him, "Okay then, let me check hotels.com and I bet it'll say you have rooms available". He then confessed and said "Oh actually I do have rooms available, but it'll cost you to upgrade to the premium room". I said there are standard rooms available on hotels.com, but he refused to give me a new room. Worst hotel experience ever, don't stay here and book elsewhere.
Engagement holiday
Fabulous hotel, staff were fantastic, supporting the planning weeks before our stay and sneaking flowers and bubbly into the room after suggesting restaurants for the proposal
Perfect hotel for what we needed
We needed a base away from the hustle of Venice tourist areas. Easy to travel to, water taxi and bus. Hotel is clean basic and friendly. We had time on the beach and visited Venice a lot. Combine with a actv pass and it is easy and cheap to commute and visit Burano and murano.
Lovely hotel, on beach, friendly helpful staff
Great location easy reach of public transport friendly helpful staff I would highly recommend
