This was a lovely hotel, within walkin distance to the main strip and the staff here are super friendly! I'd highly recommend checking out this place if you're on Santa Cruz!

We selected this property as a last minute, emergency option. We were absolutely blown away! Simple, convenient, clean, accommodating....we couldn't have made a better choice. We would recommend this to anyone and we would stay there again with zero hesitation.

Note that this review is based on a father and 5yr old son travelling in the Galapagos Islands. We booked several nights here and it was one of the best choices we made. The hosts helped us on numerous occasions with advice, guidance, collected us from the ferry, and booked our taxi for the airport. The room provided was spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable and firm which was just what we needed upon our return from our daily tours. It is not far from the seafront and main street. There is a laundry on the corner, which was very convenient, and a lot of local shops, and nice cafes down the road. We would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful hotel just 10-15 minutes away from the port and all the shopping and restaurants. The room was very clean and the staff was very attentive. We got complimentary water and coffee in the lobby. The rooms are quiet, have air conditioning and the staff speak English.

Good option

Staff was amazing. Very helpful and wanted to make sure your needs were met. Always hot showers and good working air conditioning. Appreciated the water in the lobby to refill bottles and they even put a jug in each room too. Location was a bit outside the central area but we always walked it, even in dark and it was safe. It was only like a 10 - 15 minute walk. We took a cab from the ferry with our luggage and it was only $2. They booked us a cab to go to the airport ferry for us. Very prompt in responding to emails and I had a lot of questions so very patient too!

Great place to stay.

The hotel is in a nice quiet residential neighborhood, yet very walkable to restaurants and shops. The wifi was fast and dependable. The bed was very comfortable. Air conditioning worked well which was welcome each day after a day out. We chose not to spend the additional $8 a day for breakfast. The room was very clean! The staff was friendly and helpful. The only thing lacking was guidance on places worth visiting while on the island of Santa Cruz, although a recommendation was made by Julio for a travel agent we could contact. Overall, Hotel Palace is a great place to stay.

Lovely room with air con. Staff really helpful. Safe to walk about even at night. In easy walking distance to the town.

The hotel stuff are very friendly and helpful. It has been in short of water for two nights after a hot day (maybe a general issue in the island). They did try to help and provided a small bucket of drinking water for us to clean the face before the water came back in the morning. The hotel is clean and quiet. The breakfast is exceptional.

Really great place to stay, has all the comforts and cleanliness you could hope for! We will for sure come back next time we’re in Santa Cruz.

Jose was excellent, he helped us get taxis, accomodated us for early breakfast, answered numerous questions. We were able to walk to restaurants, but were not in the hustle of the main tourist section. I highly recommend this hotel

This is a lovely hotel, located close to the Charles Darwin Centre. Jose took great pride in personally serving freshly prepared breakfast to his guests. We could avail of free water in the foyer to refill our bottles. We were not very comfortable with the lack of privacy using the bathroom .... in our room, (Iguana) the bathroom wasn't a separate room to the bedroom

The property was very well maintained with good service, centrally. It is a few blocks from the Main Street which made for a quiet stay.

Walking distance, a few blocks, from many very good restaurants and activity centers. Quite neighborhood.

Great small hotel

The hotel has been remodeled and it is nicely done. Front desk Jose is awesome.

We highly recommend staying at this property for the charm, cleanliness, central location and, most importantly, the excellent hospitality. Our visit to Santa Cruz would not have been complete if we stayed anywhere else. Jose Miguel went over-and-beyond to ensure that we had the best possible time: custom-tailoring breakfast time our schedule and dietary needs, offering free bikes to ride around town, calling taxis personally on his WhatsApp. Truly, we are thankful to Jose Miguel and the team at Hotel Palace Galapagos.

A really lovely experience

The hotel is a lovely small hotel, conveniently located and our room was very comfortable. But the best part about the hotel is the wonderful service- from the time we arrived and the way we were warmly greeted we were made to feel special throughout our stay- right until the time we were put into a cab for our trip to the airport. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Perfect Home-Base in the Islands

I like small guest houses because of their attention to personal service and Hotel Palace Galapagos exceeded my expectations in many ways. The BEST breakfast ever -- always fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Staff was eager to accommodate any type of food allergy or aversion; in my case, vegan and they made it so easy with several courses every morning. They even made me a breakfast sandwich to take with me when my tour left before the regular breakfast began. My room was impeccably clean and the bed very comfortable. Hotel Palace Galapagos is perfectly located close to shops, restaurants, pier, and Darwin Research Center. All within walking distance. In addition, staff enthusiastically helped arrange ground transportation, tours, and ferry boat tickets; he also recommended wonderful restaurants with several vegan options. Everyone is friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. It is a lovely hotel, close to all kinds of activities, situated on a beautiful island with no hawkers. I strongly recommend Hotel Palace Galapagos as home-base in the Islands!

The owner went out of her way to makes us feel welcome. She even presented my wife with a small gift for her birthday. The room was excellent and the breakfast (and breakfast area) were great. While it seemed we were off the beaten path, the major local activities were within 5 to 15 minutes walking. My wife also liked the corner mini-mart for last minute things.

The hotel is not on the shore, but all Puerto Ayora points of interest are at walking distance. On the other hand, the neighborhood is quiet. It is a new hotel with neat facilities. José Miguel is a pleasant staff member who receives his guests with a glass of fruit juice. He is indefatigable meeting the needs of his guests. The cost benefit ratio of the hotel is very attractive. The Internet is not fast, but works for essential things.

Excellent Hotel with Great Service and Location

This was an excellent hotel. The location was walking distance to the main street. The service was excellent, the hotel staff went out of their way with booking tours, information for taxis and other town information, added comfort in our rooms and daily breakfast. Our extended family is from Ecuador and we will stay again at this hotel when we return in the future.

Great service was provided. We were helped with an excursion to see giant tortoises and also with airport transfer.

Staff are helpful and friendly. The room is clean but lack of basic facilities such as tea and coffee or a small table to put your tablet. The lightning is also not good as there is no bed side lamps or light switch so you have to get out of bed to switch off the light at night.

A quick 5-10 min walk to the main street. Bicycle rental included in the stay. Staff extremely polite and helpful. Place very clean and quite pretty.

Spent three nights in the hotel. It is a nice hotel in a quite area close to shopping and restaurants. Sonia made breakfast based on our schedule and changed menu everyday. We also get free bikes to ride around. They really tried to make our stay comfortable.

Very nice hotel

Lower your expectation, make your stay happier

If you Came at the bad time. Not every was working. For example, no WIFI for the entire 5 days, waited for hot water in the morning and noise and dust from street demolition work. Also, I found their room inventory was not accurate. They claimed that basic rooms were sold out and yet the hotel just had two guests while I was there. I was forced to pay for an upgraded room the last day and yet I could not upgrade room because of the room is next to the street demolition work. I ended up over paying portion of my stay. The hotel is at least 3 or more blocks from every where. If you lower your expectation, it will make your stay a lot happier. The nice and friendly services from Sonia and Jose saved my vacation. They helped me with tours booking. your expectation, it will make your stay a lot happier.

We had an excellent stay here. The room was spacious and clean. The staff members were friendly and very helpful with recommendations and booking our passage to Isabela island. We were also able to use their bicycles around town, which was nice. The area is quiet but convenient to activities. We highly recommend staying here.

Nice Hotel, Very Personal Feel, Super Friendly

Very friendly small hotel run by a family. Rooms are nice and clean. Staff is very helpful. Hotel is walking distance (5 min) from the water and downtown. We recommend to communicate with hotel staff in advance since they can assist you in organizing your day-trips, boats, diving-groups, tour-guides, transportation etc. Sonia, the owner, is available for helping you virtually 24/7: A lovely lady. Best place for family trip

The hotel manager is so kind and actively helps the guests go around the area. The hotel is very cleanly maintained. The breakfast is awesome, and it is served with local fruits, fruit juice, eggs, and bread. Visitors to Galapagos may have some difficulty touring the area, but she is willing to help them out. For my family, it was a fantastic experience. The location is a bit away from the main street, Charles Darwin Ave, but not that far. I strongly recommend this hotel for family tourists.

Fernando, the owner of the hotel, is amazing. He wants you to have an amazing experience. If you are unsure what trip to take or where to go, don't worry. Just take his advice or let him book something for you.

Comfortable Hotel with Kind and Helpful Host

The Hotel Palace Galapagos was a very comfortable hotel and Fernando, the host, was very kind and helpful. He is highly focused on being helpful and making sure you enjoy your stay. He was willing to provide plenty of advice on the best restaurants, travel agencies and experiences on the islands. He responds rapidly to any needs related to the room and the hotel facilities. I highly recommend visitors stay at this property.

Nice, little hotel

Delightful, friendly staff! They were so helpful! I would definitely recommend this hotel. It doesn't have much of a view but it is a quick walk to the main area.

Clean new hotel with excellent service

Booked this hotel based on previous reviews. It is located a bit away from the waterfront in Puerto Ayora but it is only a 10 minute walk to town. The rooms are very clean with a big lovely bathroom with excellent hot water and water pressure- and a tub. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful and arranged a private tour for us to the highlands at a competitive price. Lovely breakfast. The staff is mostly Spanish speaking so it will be easier if you speak Spanish. Our room faced the street so it was a bit noisy at night with dogs barking from the neighboring homes.

The staff (family) make the comfortable and clean hotel a no-brainer for return trips. They go out of their way to help you plan whatever you like. Breakfast is cooked to order. They are 100% professional. One of the best places i've ever stayed, hands down.

Great stay! Highly recommend, amazing service!!!

The amazing service provided by Fernando + others was incredible! The breakfast was a full multi-course meal with fruit and eggs/toast. The rooms are clean, and some even have bathtubs- great after a long week of diving. The showers are huge with rain-spout type showerheads... feels luxurious! But don't come for the amenities- come for the incredible service!

Great Place to Stay

New construction, very clean, custom breakfast, short walk to main street, safe location. Staff (Fernando) very helpful. Used him for booking tours. He is very knowledgeable and made recommendations as to what would be good or not so good for us based upon what we were looking to do.

Very helpful staff at a nice hotel

Fernando was such a help to us during our one-night stay at the Palace Hotel. He arranged taxis and an excursion for us, as well as generally helping us know how to get around Puerto Ayora. He also served us a hot breakfast the next morning. The facilities themselves are lovely, with plenty of room, a mini refrigerator stocked with bottles of water, and a separate tub and shower. The bed was a little too firm for my taste, but otherwise this was a perfect place to stay. Highly recommend. The hotel is located a few blocks from the main drag in town, so you can walk to the fish market, docks, restaurants and shopping.
