The hotel was very nice and clean. You were able to walk nearby restaurants or small shops. Outside by the pool you basically had your own beach. The cleaning ladies were super nice and helpful with our wedding event as well.

The view from the bed room is beautiful. Bus just outside the hotel. Food and service are good . Didn’t like the layout of the room , AC was not working properly and I didn’t have good night sleep because of that. We took half board and in the evening meal , the restaurant doesn’t provides tap water , they charge £3 for a bottle of water ! I found this is totally unnecessary as they do put water in the morning free of charge but not in the evening Overall is nice hotel

This is our 4th visit, we come every year with our son (11). The location is just perfect bus journey to Palma in 20 mins, walk to Illetas beach along the rocks 10 mins. The hotel itself is 4 star but amazingly clean, well maintained and the staff are outstanding. Always greet you with a smile and nothing is too much trouble. The same staff have been here for 4 years. The hotel pool is so clean, on a fantastic spot going right out to the sea. It has a shallow lido to the side of the pool to swim in the sea. This area is perfect for snorkelling and keeps my son and husband amused for hours! We love this place, it simply ticks all the boxes. Thank you again Hotel Bonanza playa, you did not disappoint ❤️

Reception staff awful

Not as good as usual.

Stayed at least 10 times before. This was the worse. New manager has cancelled all live entertainment on ground floor. Shut the krystal restaurant early. Stopped theme nights in restaurant with welcome drinks. This was all usually available in our October annual stays. Looks like the hotel is declining in standards.

They said my reservation was not in the System, so I got charged the going rate, I showed them the confirmation email they didn't care, they blamed it on Hotels.com I got Discounted the last 2 days, but I did end up paying aproximately 150 euros more.

Easy to get around Mallorca on the bus, 2 euros one-way. Bus stop is right outside of the hotel. There are two properties across from each other. The one across the street has mini-golf. Love the access to the ocean, even though there isn't really a beach, and love the pool. Only thing was the AC wasn't working our first 2 nights, so we had to sleep with the balcony open because it was too hot. Also, they never informed of us this. However, I would go back and I would recommend.

Comfortable room overlooking the sea and easy access to swim in the sea which is what we wanted. Good breakfast but quite crowded at times. Helpful and kind staff. Used the municipal car park which is very close.

Great experience

I liked the property and the staff all were very friendly the only thing I did not like was the food served it was not very good.

I found some of the staff friendly especially the bar staff , but some seemed pained to help you . They could do with more staff at busy times .

The area is quiet compared to the big resorts but theres some nice restraunts and a lovely welcoming bar opposite the hotel (bar illetas ) i. If you want a peacful hotel then id recommend

Beautiful location, pools, property and water areas!!! Little food choice, do NOT get room service (horrible). Small leak under sink, the halls have no AC, my room AC went out more times than i can count. I ended up extending my stay.......to a difference place!!!! I had to many issue w little resolve and its not most walkable. Beautiful property however!

Excellent facilities. It had everything

Loved the room and the view was spectacular. We stayed in one of the presidential suites. My complaint is that the air conditioning didn't work in the living area. We had to shut the door to the bedroom so that we could at least keep that room cool enough to try to sleep, but it still could not even be set low enough to be comfortable. We got the half board which is not worth even half of what we paid. It is mediocre at best, both dinner and breakfast. Save your money and go eat elsewhere at a different property.

great place - loved pools and waterfront

The hotel is beautiful but the room smells so musty and old that it ruined our stay. We traveled as a group and my room was a suite while my friends’ was a standard room. Both our rooms smelled. Mine to the point where my clothes started stinking. The room is beautiful, the pool area is amazing, the views are stunning but I would never go back. It needs some massive freshening up with new paint, new rugs, new furniture. Even the pillows (not the pillow cover, the pillows themselves) smelled musty and old. Tried to switch rooms and front desk acted as if I was crazy complaining about the smell. Also, a bit too many rules because it is more of a family style resort. Cannot have snacks in the pool area, 6 pm the lifeguard was kicking us out of the pool when the sun doesn’t set until 9 pm! Next time I will go for a smaller, more grown up hotel with fresh smelling rooms :)

Staff are above average, extremely friendly and helpful. The local bars are friendly and fun. The only downside is the WiFi in the hotel.

Great food, excellent service

The vip areas at the pool did not really work. Nice idea, but poor execution (the promised service was not existing, in four hours no service showed up). The breakfast choice was large, the food quality average. The staff at the pool bar was great. The hotel bar at the reception level was disappointing and the service poor due to understaffing. The staff at the reception and the service was very good. Our room was very nice, we had a suite, no complaints except for the lack of toilet paper that we had to remind the staff three times and missing shower gel and conditioner. All in all a very pleasant experience and we like the location Illetas due to its vicinity of Palma and Puerto Portals. The Balneario beach club is a great addition to the location and we liked it a lot. Except for this one we did not find very good dinner opportunities in walking distance.

Fantastic hotel - location is so-so

The hotel was nice and had good location. My check in experience wasn’t great, there was only one person at the counter (who was busy) and waited 30 minutes before someone else came. I was supposed to get a welcome drink and didn’t. I then learned that the hotel parking was full and if I wanted to park I had to check with them every day which is inconvenient. Thankfully, they shared with me a free parking nearby. The pool area was big and the sea access was very nice! Overall, it was a good base to explore this side of the island

5 stars all around!! We were warmly welcomed at check in with a glass of champagne and very friendly service!! Huge shout out to the Kristal restaurant they have inside the hotel as well. We had a three course meal of the beef tenderloin and a sushi platter and Mochi for dessert paired with fresh fruit and the chef even brought us out his own creation of another seafood sashimi! The chef came out twice to greet us and ensure we were having a great meal which it was, the best meal I’ve ever had hands down!!I have never in my life had seafood more fresh and beef so tender as I did here. As a tip, go to that restaurant and skip the buffet they offer in their second restaurant, it was honestly the same price for everything as what we would’ve spent at the buffet. Overall, the hotel is located within a 15 min walk (farthest you’ll go) of 3 other beaches, all different in their own ways. If you don’t feel like walking to another beach, the property has its own beautiful pool with two bars to use and a private dock to jump into the ocean as you please. The room itself was amazing, all the rooms have a view of the ocean which was gorgeous and quiet to sit out on your balcony enjoying the views. All in all, the property was nice and relaxing without too much partying going on (which was what we were looking for) and they had live music and entertainers every night. I will always be dreaming from now on the delicious and amazing dinner from the Kristal restaurant and the stunning views

Facilities were clean expansive. Multiple pools and restaurants. Great views. Buffet breakfast was excellent. So many fresh options. Spa facilities were wonderful. Indoor pool, bath, steam room, sauna, etc. staff was friendly and accommodating. Rooms were comfortable with great attention to detail and the balcony overlooked the sea. We didn’t explore surrounding area of the resort. Only complaint was the lobby and pool bars closed early. We arrived back from dinner in Palma around 10:30 and would have like to sit and enjoy a cocktail but all the bars were closed.

Great find with instant access to the coast

Fabulous location with direct access to the sea and exceptional customer service. Room was a little strange with the bathroom set up and felt a bit basic, but a decent bed and stunning sea view.

All fabulous . Staff at breakfast and dinner were so helpful & friendly, especially Wilson. Will definitely be returning. Could not fault it.

Food was great. Large varieties of choices. Different cusines each day.

- very nice swimming pools. big pool and facing the sea - there is also an option to jump into the sea if you want to - convenient with bus stop in front of the hotel to take you to palma, if palma is too far, there are bars and restaurants only 4 stops away from the hotel (Soda Pop is highly recommended, very good tanqueray tonic) - staff are helpful and friendly one down side: the room key always not working. I've been changing room key 3 times in 7 days.

The room set up is weird

I love this place. I’ve been coming back year after year and sometimes more than once in a year! Carmelo (who works on the door in reception) is fantastic - and so is Patricia in the restaurant. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming! Fabulous location for secluded beaches and walking and the pool area is wonderful! Dinner is not great, can get repetitive. But aside from that this place is my fav place, and I’ll keep coming back!

Housekeeping services were deplorable. On one day, our room wasn’t even serviced at all, and on most others, certain bathroom amenities were missing or not replaced and the room was not cleaned adequately. We got no apology or compensation from management, despite sending a note of disappointment through Expedia. Also, the products used in the bathroom are of poor quality and recycled (several bottles of “conditioner” contained hand/body cream). Parking in the garage is very tight, making the risk of damage to your car trying to maneuver in and out of spaces when the garage is full pretty high. Overall, a disappointing experience. This hotel certainly should not be classified as 4-star. Two-star, maximum, by any reasonable standard. However, the wait staff at breakfast were amazing (very nice and helpful). That was the only good part of our stay.

We loved our stay here! Everyone was so nice and helpful when we asked for recommendations. They told us the best beaches to see which are max a 10 minute walk. The pools are really nice and the indoor hot tub was amazing! The rooms were very clean and nice. There is also a bus stop right outside of the hotel, so you can easily go into Palma. Such a great weekend here!

Very nice pool area. Presidential Suite was nice but just a little bit tired (need fresh paint). My only gripe was that they charged for ice. Not something I would expect from a hotel of this nature. Lovely resteraunt across the road

Beautiful hotel in fantastic location

We had a wonderful stay location is perfect, room was lovely and clean and z beautiful view. Food and service at breakfast was fantastic. Our only disappointment was the courtesy room availability was not great which meant we had to shower in the spa which wasn’t great.

Great for a weekend break

Excellent hotel, really good value for money. Food was really good, a lovely lunchtime paella and everything you could think of for breakfast. Pool was great and there's sea swimming options too, albeit without a beach. The staff in the hotel were universally helpful and friendly - I'd recommend it without hesitation!

I liked the hotel as a whole , however I detest the treatment at the hands of receptionists twice. We had a booking with Expedia for a standard room and on check in we were put in a interconnecting room with a door to the other room . It was horribly noisy and no privacy. We immediately asked for a different room but because they didn’t have a standard room , they made me pay an extra €40 for no fault of my own. I agreed with no grumbling. The second encounter was when my request for an extr couple of hours late in check out was refused with no willingness to placate for the upset on day 1. I will never come back again nor any of my friends or family

Not a 4 star property. Very loud rooms, thin walls. Lots of street and nightlife noise all night long, loud guests. No coffee in room, no shampoo in room. Staff nice enough but seem to do the bare minimum.

Nice hotel with great staff

We went in March which turned out to be definite off-season so a lot of the nearby amenities were closed and the nearby beaches were small but great. The hotel staff were excellent though, really clean hotel and they couldn't have been more helpful.

A five star experience

Superb building and surrounds. Huge range of food of highest quality. Spent 10 days there and you could almost spend each day within the hotel area such was the range of facilities.

Beautiful sea view room to see sunrise each morning; staff attentive and accommodating and the food choice and quality was excellent. Would definitely stay here again. An excellent hotel.

A very special hotel

Everything was so clean and new with real professional staff. Breakfast was beautiful with so much selection along with great food from the snack bar also. Amazing view from the rooftop bar with a great DJ ! We have been in 4 hotels in 3 weeks and this one takes some beating

Definitely I will be back, I love it. The hotel has really nice atmosphere, beautiful scenery and lovely people, the service was fantastic and their staff really friendly.

Excellent overall, 2 pools overlooking the sea. I was disappointed that there is not tea/coffee maki g facilities in the room and that you have to pay for a safe deposit box that the bell hop has to then activate in your room.

Great location on sea front, allows sea swimming and two super pools. Excellent buffet breakfasts and immaculately clean rooms. Staff throughout the hotel are charming and friendly.

Just gorgeous. But both pools were icy cold. Great lunches off BBQ.

Appalling service really lets this hotel down

We were a group of three staying for three nights for a mini break. We were offered a choice of two rooms, one of which wouldn't have even fit three in. When we went for the obvious choice (larger room), the receptionist said, "I told you that room is better", which I felt was unnecessary and frankly absurd. Room was spacious. Amenities were mediocre - definitely pack your own toiletries. Breakfast buffet was amazing (probably the only complete positive we can name), pool bar/restaurant was OK. The corridor to the room stank of silicone sealant/adhesive and were dusty and humid. Receptionists had bad attitudes and weren't very attentive at all to our needs. There were very few who spoke proper English to be able to understand a question/request. We weren't told the safe was a paid add-on until we got the bill at checkout and the additional city taxes were quite extortionate. We booked an excursion via the hotel which was understandably more expensive than booking direct, but the receptionist Ramon gave us the wrong meeting point details and wouldn't give us the full print out of the confirmation email either, so it took several calls and WhatsApps to the excursion company to finally get the right details we needed. One thing that really annoyed me about the staff at this hotel, other than being hugely understaffed so having an inherently low and poor level of service, was that they were so insincere. Great location on top of the beach, but appalling service. Won't go back.

This hotel is in an excellent location. The housekeeping is above high standard, breakfast superb. Room adequate with balcony overlooking the sea. only downside, there is no beach.

Lovely place

I am a female solo traveler, and I felt totally safe here. I have to work a little on my computer and the WIFI was OK...not great, but I was able to work. The staff was helpful. The views are beautiful. I would definitely stay here again!

I have been staying in Riu Palace hotels over the last 20 years because they were a good quality hotel. They are definitely cutting back on staff, quality of service, and food in their restaurants and are becoming no better than a lot of other 4 star hotels. They are rated as 4 star superior but the shine has gone off this hotel chain.

We really enjoyed the hotel grounds but found the room walls to be a bit thin and the lighting in the rooms was weird.

The view from the pool area overlooking the sea is fabulous. Not so keen on the bathroom set up, prefer a proper separate room opposed to a sliding door and cubicles.

The hotel and the team were excellent from start to finish nothing was to much trouble all the team were interactive

I really enjoyed my stay and the staff were first class. Location is good and I liked to walk to the beach restaurants. Just a couple of observations, the hotel itself is fine but not remarkable, also the daily charge to use the safe is a bit unusual. Most other hotels would just include this as a facility. All in all very good!

From arrival to departure, this hotel delivers outstanding levels of customer service, friendliness and efficiency. The staff greet you like friends and this continues throughout your stay. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the food is plentiful with lots of choice. Thank you to all the staff for going the extra mile and making our stay very special.

The most amazing hotel I have ever stayed in

By far one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in my life and I’ve travelled to 30+ countries. The rooms were large and had good views - the view of the sea from my balcony was stunning. I had half board so had both breakfast and dinner here and was undoubtedly the best decision I made. Lots of incredible variety and the choices were changed daily. Food was fresh, there were great choices for vegetarians as well. Loved the pool areas and was delighted with the weights available in the gym. The location is great - buses go directly to the city centre and there are very good sandy beaches 10mins walk away. Lastly and foremost the staff were super diligent, helpful and went out of their way to make me feel welcomed - in particular the guys at the front desk. I absolutely loved my time here and I cannot even think about trying another hotel in Mallorca - already planning to come back this summer!

great hotel with great staff in a good location - excellent in every way.

Fantastic view, great breakfast and even the dinner was pretty good with something for everyone. End of season so was able to get anlste check out to 6pm which was much appreciated. I caught the local bus (number 3) right outside the hotel several times and it’s very easy to use with the stops both showing on a screen and spoken (in Spanish). The sea was beautiful but very chilly and can only not imagine what a great place this must be in summer - although probably much more expensive then!

The hotel has an exceptional focus towards it's guests resulting in nothing being to much trouble in staff efforts to give the best possible service. Thoroughly enjoyable stay, great hotel facilities. Bob

Another great holiday in the Bonanza Playa.

We have stayed at the Riu Palace Bonanza Playa 4 or 5 times. It never disappoints. Excellent service, and the staff are always there to assist in whatever way they can. The food is of a high quality and there is plenty of it. Facilities are great, and the recent addition of an adults only swimming pool has been a great success. With bus stops outside as well as a taxi rank it is also easy to pop into Palma (or anywhere else). We will be back very soon.

Great hotel for a lovely break

Welcoming and helpful staff, lovely location with fantastic seaside pool area, good access by bus to Palma and the airport, with lovely food. Room was spacious with a lovely balcony but was a little dated and there was some dust on some surfaces. Noise proofing on the room could be better especially with the entertainment being quite loud - but these didn't reduce the enjoyment of our stay. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Faultless!

The most incredible location with stunning views, amazing staff throughout the entire hotel (including every cleaner who smiled and said hello which is so rare and so lovely!), great mix of visitors all varying in age and set-up but yet making it a really great atmosphere to stay, and the food was delicious! Well worth paying the extra for half board which also included an optional fine dining experience and proved to be a real treat! Made great use of the inclusive spa which was also an extra luxury! Can't wait to return and have already told family and friends they have to visit!

Worst Hotel in Mallorca!! Pick a different one!!

Very rude receptionist Wanted me to pay for the full six days before I has seen the room. Waned to charge for parking the car at 30 euros per day and another 30 euros for the padlock to the car park and 'would i like the safe in the room to work?' you guessed it thats another payment! No concierge service.

Amazing staff, great food

Great location in between Palma and Magaluf

The hotel was perfect for a 10 day break with two teenagers. There is a convenient bus stop outside which can take you into Palma easily and taxi's to Palma or Magaluf both cost approx 12 Euro's. The taxi's are busy at dinner time so be prepared for a bit of a wait, but the hotel staff are extremely helpful. The cleaner was very patient with sleepy teenagers. The food was excellent, although the buffet price for dinner was a bit steep I thought (we only had B&B) at 35 Euro's a head.

Beautiful views, pools are very clean and well maintained. Nice sized balcony and spacious room. However bathrooms in need of a makeover.

Nice Hotel

This is a good hotel but not cheap however it does have a few cheap features such as a welcome drink which is limited to a glass of cheap cava or a beer and charging 20 quid a week to use the safe. When you're spending the thick end of 3k i would have expected a decent welcome and the safe to be included. These things spoil a good experience.

Brilliant relaxed holiday!

The staff in the hotel made us feel welcome at all times. A few members of staff that we were impressed with: Vera in Reception and Laura in the Spa. The food in the buffet was fresh and displayed in abundance. Very enjoyable. My son enjoyed playing at the Kids Club every day which allowed us with some free time to relax and enjoy. Particularly impressed with the cocktails at the Bar. We would definitely go again!

Good for couples

Overall a nice experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's nice that they have two full-size pools where one is for kids and the other is for adults only. The buffet is really nice and not your stereotypical one, rather changes its content on a daily basis. The premium restaurant is actually very good and recommended to try. Free parking is available not far away from the hotel. The area around the hotel is not as lively. Recommended is to either use the hotel facilities or head to Palma or some other area with bars/restaurants. Check-out is at noon and you can go down to the pool after check-out. Once you're done, they have a dressing room for shower and clean-up before you travel home.

Great Hotel with good food and customer service.

Hotel only 30-45minutes from the airport, right on the beach front with beautiful views over the sea. 3 pools in total (2 Outdoor and 1 indoor). Staff very helpful and friendly, definitely recommend and will be looking to return.

Exactly what a hotel stay for a summer holiday should be - fantastic location, beautiful views , 2 pools, terrific staff , great food - one of the most relaxing weeks ever. Will DEFINITELY re-book.
