Great hotel, good size pool. Close to Fira, good transport link. Bathroom needs modernising.
The hotel was off the beaten path which made it quiet. But within walking distance to every thing. The hotel is very cute, the staff was very nice The pool was great after a long day. My only critique is how small the shower is.
Staff was very friendly
A real lap pool. Vineyard and palm trees out front and a great view of Thira at the rear. First class breakfasts and super staff .
Stay there for two nights and had no real problems.Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very small but ok for one person. The bathroom was even smaller not much room to move around. It did have a nice small pool.I was told breakfast was provided for 10 euros but I did not seen any and I was up early.I would stay there again.
Nice place, helpful and friendly people
The staff where very friendly Despina and cornell where very helpful. Location was 15 mins away from Fira and quiet
Great hotel overall. Would definitely stay again.
A Hotel like Home
I really glad I choose this hotel it is very clean and comfortable bed very close to Fira town nearby restaurant, supermarket, Dominos pizza and a foundry the hotel also had small swimming pool the front desk very helpful answer all your question the airport 5 minutes ride the only thing I don’t like is the bathroom it so small you can’t barely move but that is not a big issue to be honest I like the hotel definitely coming back in the future.
I had a great stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was located in a quieter part of the island. The room was bright and confortable. I gogli reconmend this hotel for holidays in Santorini
The staff is attentive, kind and they do everything to make your stay enjoyable. The hotel is clean and the beds were comfortable. They offer a quick bite breakfast for 10 euros pp. My two complaints about this hotel is the shower & cable. The shower is a small box with a curtain, you can’t bend or shave. The curtains wrap around and cling to your body and water gets everywhere outside of the shower on the bathroom floor. When you come back to your hotel to rest and watch some tv there is NO English channels. There’s 12-14 tv channels and their all in Greek. Theres only one channel that plays movies in English and only after 9pm and sometimes it’s something in black & white.
Amazing hotel staff was really lovely made the stay very good
Great location clean room walking distance to site
If you’re looking for clean, quiet. safe and friendly service, then Olynpia Hotel is the spot. It’s located about fifteen minutes from Firos. There are nearby spots just down the hotel exit. Desphina and Virginia were great with suggestions. I thank Desphina for her assistance in booking excursions and setting up transfer from airport and to ferry at the last minute. The room is small but perfect for a solo traveller. It has a small fridge, tv and hairdryer. The evenings had a nice breeze so I liked being able to open door to balcony while I was in the room. I appreciated the location since there was no noises to deal with. The pool was a nice break if coming back early although it’s open until 9:00 p.m. I enjoyed my stay and if I were ever in the area I would visit again.
I chose this hotel based on location. It is very close to the bus stop for the KTel bus to/from the port. It is a 20 minute walk into Fira. Before our arrival, the hotel promptly answered my questions through email. We arrived too early for check-in so the hotel stored our bags. The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. The AC worked well. The fridge worked, but the freezer did not freeze our water overnight. The hotel staff was very friendly. Check-in was quick and easy. There was plenty of parking at the hotel. There is a laundromat within walking distance that charges 15 Euro! per load. We had a nice sized porch to sit on for eating or relaxing. We had our own food so we chose not to pay extra for the hotel breakfast. Here are my complaints: The WiFi was very SLOW. The bathroom smelled very musty. It could use a cleaning with bleach to get rid of the smell. The hotel was nice to lend us beach/pool towels but you only get one per person per stay. If you stay a long time and need new towels, you have to pay for them. However, if I came back to Santorini, I would choose this hotel again. The price was right for the location and level of service.
Very nice and clean hotel, good location 10 minute walk to the center of Thira.
Tiny bathrooms, cheap place
The bathrooms are too small, hard to stand in the shower. We complained about the water drainage being so slow in the shower that you have to shut off the shower then wait until the water drains then continue, the owner did not agree. Had to stay like this for 3 nights.
Located on a relatively quiet street. 15 minutes of walk from Fira. 2 minutes from restaurants and shops. If you are going to villages in the other direction (not Fira or Oia), the bus stop is 3 minutes away. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. The owner has run the hotel for about 30 years. Nice swimming pool.
Great host, very accommodating
The location of the hotel to the city centre is very good. The host Despina and the service staff were excellent. There really isn’t much to the hotel. Pool is nice breakfast was decent. Really a budget hotel with not much more.
We arrived to Hotel Olympia rather early in the morning because of our flight and shuttle. The man at the front desk was very nice, but seemed upset that we didn’t have Euro to give him right then and there for the “city tax.” I’m happy that house cleaning didn’t bother us while we were still in the room. It was nice that it got pretty cold in the room. Nice area to walk around in, many great restaurants and markets near by. They booked us a shuttle to the port, which was convenient. We didn’t eat the breakfast there but it was only 7€ per person, which seemed reasonable. The bed was extremely comfortable and it’s the best sleep I got in a while. Recommend.
One star service
1-star service, we went to the hotel 7am in the morning to early checkin, they made us wait until 3 pm. 1 booked one room/ one night through the app. we were 2 adults with a 4 years old kid. They tried to charge for our son made us wait for a while although we booked a room and we did not ask for any extra bed since our son sleeps with us. the place is very far from downtown to walk and 5-10 mins by car. it was torture to walk there with a kid which we did 6 or 8 times. People are in general rude. It is more of a family apart but not a hotel. When we checked out there was 1.5 euro government tax which they did not accept in card or other currencies we had usd and other one. they made us walk all the way to downtown and come back again for that unpredicted charge. Balcony was shared with another room so we had to stay in. If you read the reviews you would see similar comments. it was overall like military camp not a hotel. I would not recommend it to anybody but despina was nice, i would recommend her.
Superb customer service
The front desk was so helpful, we wouldn’t have been able to navigate Santorini without their help. We had a beautiful view of Fira and the sea. Our stay was great!
Loved staying here staff were super helpful and place was really nice
Santorini Serenity
I loved this little hotel! It’s just on the outskirts of Fira, an easy and flat walk into town, lots of near by restaurants and. Bakery to die for! The staff are so so lovely and go out of their way for the guests. It’s not flashy and glitzy like some places but it was perfect for me!
Good environment, good service, however, the location is little far away to Fira.
The hotel is clean and flexible for early checkin. The room’s setting is warm, romantic and has good views. The location is ok. The hotel manager was very nice and helpful with renting a motorbike for us. However, the hotel was slow in responding to messages on Expedia. One of the staffs was rude. When we asked for orange juices, we heard that it is 2 euro per bottle but it turned out to be 2 euro per glass. We were not happy with it but it was okay until the staff offered another free glass of orange juice as compensations. We were touched until we realised the new glasses of orange juices are expired ones!
It was good, perfect location, quiet at night, the only they can improve is the wifi, but i don't really need it that much at that time.
Check in and local information was great. No coffee until 8:30.
Close to Fira about 20 min walk or 8 min drive. Make sure if you want to drive an ATV or moped make sure to get an international drivers license in your state before driving. Otherwise, you won’t be able to drive at all and if you get pulled over it’s a $1000 USD fine. Also, if you get into a car accident YOU WIll not be able to leave the island. Some places will not care and let you rent the Vehicle, ATV or moped but be very careful. If they try selling you an international license don’t buy it it’s fake you must get it in your state. The roads are very narrow and bound to get into car accidents easily if your a nervous driver. The hotel stay was ok. Needs major updates!!! Rooms felt gross. Breakfast is $7 Euro and is definitely not worth it. There’s other eatery places nearby. The place was quite with a decent pool to cool off. The hotel has 25 rooms and very hollow so you can hear just about anything. I felt like I was being watched by my every move since the hotel was family owned and very small. I did not fee comfortable. Overall, not worth what I paid for I would have booked a better hotel but since it’s the high peak season I ended up with this one. Stay if you want something cheap but if you can afford something nicer than go for it cause it’ll probably not feel as gross as this hotel.
The staff is the best part
The hotel is at a great location, just minutes from the day and night activities of Fira, but remote enough that you can get a great rest. The staff makes you feel like they are truly grateful for the business and are happy to help out in any way. The pool was clean and refreshing, and the room was a good size for all 4 of us. Recommended!
Very helpful and good staff .but restroom exremely small especially shower
Despina at reception was so helpful, no request was too hard. Thank you for all your help during our stay.
Convenient and well priced.
The staff was extremely hospitable. This is also one of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed in. Thank you to Despina and the staff! There is plenty of room on the hotel property as well and you don't feel crammed.
We loved our stay at Hotel Olympia the lovely hotel receptionist was so helpful and always had a smile on her face, would definitely come back and recommend to a friend! Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable!!! 😄 xx
Would DEFINITELY recommend staying here! Room and facilities were very nice and in such a convenient spot with about a 10-15 minute walk to the main spot of Fira (you can also take a 2 euro bus to Oia from there). My room had a beautiful window view of the island and the water. I never tried the continental breakfast personally, but for the price this is a great place to stay for a trip to Santorini- I was very pleasantly surprised. Also made use of the pool which was great and the staff was very friendly. This is a great place to stay if you are considering it but wary about the price being too good to be true.
Just what i was looking for
Traveled solo and stayed here for a few days. Perfect location for me- 12 min walk to Fira bus station . Away from the busyness of Fira. Contact the lovely Despina for options to the hotel (bus, cab or pick up.) Mini market, bakery, restos and cafes very close. Bus as well. Book a day tour through reception. I didn't access the pool nor did i try the 9euro buffet breakfast.
Beautiful hotel with very friendly staff
Although my room wifi is a little slow (could be due to where my room was), the excellent staff and service provided makes up for it. The staff is always greeting you when you return/ leave and asking if you need any help. Daily housekeeping keeps the room at great conditions at all times, definitely worth the money spent. Also, the view of the city from the room was excellent.
Friendly and helpful staff
It was closer to the Fire central bus station. Closer means within 10-12min walking distance. In front of the hotel there is a bus stop (Olympia) which has made easy for me to take bus back to port without walking to central bus station. The staff was really helpful and friendly.
Happy Hotel Olympia
We loved hotel Olympia! The family who runs this hotel were amazing and made our stay so enjoyable! The location was also fantastic, at the edge of town and just far enough off the main road to be quiet but a close walk to all the services and the local buses and a short enough walk into the Center of Fira. The pool was amazing for a hot afternoon relax and cool down! And they offer a nice breakfast which is a nice option if you choose to pay for it. The shower was small and hard to contain the water with the shower curtain but it was clean and comfortable. Also the patio was a nice spot to relax! I would happily stay here again!
We liked it and was pleasantly surprised.
Great place for the budget minded traveler. It was better than I expected. There is a little walking to get to where the action is but very worth it and easy to do if your in decent shape. We were able to rent atv's from our hotel which I belive had excellent prices compared to what I saw elsewhere.
Location was great. But the breakfast their offer is ridiculous for the price their charge
Needs some work.
The staff was helpful but the property needs some work. The in-room safe didn't function and the bathroom always had an unpleasant smell, particularly after cleaning. Perhaps the maid needed to change the hop. The Wifi in the room only worked consistently in the early morning. The location required a bit of a walk to reach the closest restaurants. It was not the bargain I thought it would be.
Quiet, comfortable hotel close to maintown of Fira
Staff are very friendly and made our stay extremely comfortable. The facilities are great with a clean swimming pool for the afternoons and air-conditioned rooms. The hotel is very quiet because it is 500 metres from the main road, however it is only a 10-15 minute walk into Fira which we found easy. Lots of parking for hire vehicles and easy to catch buses from the Fira Bus Port. Our room had quite a small bathroom with one small corner making up the shower, however this did not impact our enjoyment of the stay and there was always hot water when you turned on the tap. Great views of the island however no views of the Caldera, which we weren't concerned about because you pay a lot more for those views. Overall a great experience, lots of value for money and we would recommend this to friends.
Reasonably priced hotel
The hotel was convenient for going to the city. A very safe area for females walking late at night.
Clean, basic accommodations.
Hotel Olympia is a clean, basic hotel. It is 300 paces from the main road, and a 10 minute walk from the edge of Fira. It's another 5 to 10 minutes walk to Fir town centre. The building is older, but very well taken care of. My room was fine, the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was sufficient. The bathroom ceiling is very low so anyone 6 feet or more would not be able to stand at all. The AC in my room was good, and had a remote. I had a little balcony. The pool area was ok, except the jacuzzi was only half full. The swim up bar doesn't exist, and should not be listed. I didn't try the breakfast buffet. They sell 1.5 liters of bottled water for €1.5 - go to the store of the street who sells it for €.60 cents. Tap water is undrinkable, so you'll need to buy bottled water. Artemis, the manager, was nice. No extra effort, though. I arrived early, and they held my bags for a couple of hours until my room was ready. After check out, they let me hang around on the veranda waiting for my friends to pick me up.
Great value for the price. Just wish the beds were not separated as we were on our honeymoon. Beds were also not very comfortable, but otherwise we had a great stay! Would recommend it.
Nice hotel
Very clean. Very close to buses. Nice staff. Good price.
Knowledgeable staff, great location
15 minute walk to Fira's touristy areas. The area was safe and beautiful. There was two nearby restaurants I loved- grill point (a cheap gyro place) and an Indian food restaurant that was AMAZING called Jaipur. The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They helped us make the most of our time in Santorini, got a rental car delivered to the hotel for us and even reserved places for us on a tour to the volcano. The room was clean, beds were comfortable, AC worked great. It was a bit dated, but it didn't bother us. The price was great. We had some horrible neighbours that were very loud, but otherwise it was great.
Lovely Hotel
My friend and I enjoyed our short stay at Olympia mainly due to the fantastic family staff. The owner and his daughter were so friendly and helpful and always greeted us with a smile. The room was warm, and the bathroom door was tricky but overall it was clean. The breakfast was great and we couldn't complain about the location (15 min walk to Fira). We would recommend Olympia to anyone coming to Santoria looking for an affordable accommodation.
Horrible aircon, bad service
Please spend a bit more to stay somewhere else unless you just want a hotel with a pool to tan. The room I stayed in was horrible mainly because of the aircon which emitted an extremely foul smelling stench. I approached the manager about this and he said it's not the aircon(which quite obviously was the problem). I decided not to argue and sleep with the windows open but had a horrible night due to the mosquitoes.. To add to this, the manager made some rather racist remarks by saying it's probably the Chinese tourists before me who ate in the room who made it smell bad! So many things wrong with this claim; first and foremost, isn't it the hotel's responsibility to make sure rooms are in good condition for guests?? Breakfast which costed 7Euro was abysmal, please avoid. Location was fine although if you pay a bit more you can be closer to the centre and probably avoid my bad experiences..
Very nice family run hotel. Very close to Fira, about 10 minutes walking. Plenty of restaurants near by. The staff is very friendly, attentive and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.
