Everything we needed for a overnight stay in cluding allowing us to use pool long after check out. Would stay again.
One night stay here as part of a longer trip. Having stayed at a number of Novotels across France and elsewhere we were a little bit surprised by the condition of the room, the carpet and bathroom fittings were very stained (but clean) and the pull out bed was rather less comfortable than usual for this setup in other Novotels. Having said that this was reflected in the relatively low price. The staff were very friendly. The reception area and restaurant were in a much better state of repair and the breakfast was at the usual very high standard. There was plenty of onsite parking and the location was convenient for the motorway.
Ignore the dated exteriors, inside is fairly modern and is a perfectly comfortable hotel in a convenient location.
We have stayed at this Novotel many times before, sadly it’s now looking very tired and definitely needs modernising/updating. Staff always very helpful and efficient but during this stay they were definitely under staffed. Probably won’t stay here again until the premises gets some attention
Hotel selected for pool and laundry facilities. After a slow check in, we found out that there were no laundry facilities and the pool was incredibly cold.
Great pool on a hot day. Meal in the evening was of good standard
In need of modernisation so disappointed
Very tiierd hotel air con did not work sufficiently breakfast was ok
Excellent value stay. Good breakfast and room was clean. Decor and carpets could do with a revamp but otherwise excellent. A nice outside space for our children to run around.
Food was great, staff friendly hotel rooms showing there age
Very good but a couple of niggles
Really pleased with room and friendly receptionist on check in. Separate toilet was handy but needs updating and shower had a curtain which kept sticking to us when we showered. Only problem was the room was so hot, even with temperature turned as low it would get. Would return.
Great stay!
A welcome change from some of the tiny and slightly dodgy motel rooms we had stayed in on our travels around France. Room was clean and spacious. Really delicious food in the restaurant and was handy to be able to eat there. Very pleasant staff. Added bonus was the pool we had to ourselves on our sunny last day in France before catching the ferry back to the UK.
Hair in bath and on shower head. Drink stains which were sticky on bedside table and sheets not on the bed correctly. We were not made aware of renovations being made to rooms and were woken up by drilling which petrified my 1 year old. Having said this, the staff were friendly and helpful. However, this is the worst Novotel we've ever said in. Definitely not a 4 star!
Large rooms
Good value for the price
Totally perfect stay and good value for the price. It’s basic and not what most people would consider 4 star - but it has all the amenities to achieve 4 star status.
Hotel is in a business park but does have a few restaurants around. Hotel is very tired and dated but it’s clean and the staff are lovely!
Hotel ok, a bit tired in places, could do with a spruce up.
Hotel a bit outdated but staff was great. There isn’t much to see in the area, you’d need to drive to the city centre
Nope
Stained carpets, dirty bathroom and cobwebs. Never write reviews but for the price we paid, this hotel was not up to standard. Avoid this
Good Stay, reasonable Hotel, not too far from Calais
Very nice inside but could do with some updating in the rooms
Pay off your momey
It was excellent stay thanks to staff's hospitality and their efforts to make it clean. I would visit again if travel around.
For being a Novotel, we were expecting a bit of a standard, but the property is old, the carpet inside the room is in bad conditions, curtain in the bathroom dirty, uncomfortable pillows.
ok stay
Rooms very basic and beds uncomfortable especially the sofa bed as very thin mattress and can feel the springs.
Don’t stay here
A very scruffy example of a Novotel. Shaby decor and run down way beyond expectations - broken bulbs in bedside lamps, stained bathroom fittings and sticky carpets . Bar service is borderline non existent
Lovely staff team. Rooms are now looking dated and so is pool area.
Poor service
Reasonable hotel spoiled by poor service and reaction by the staff on arrival. We specifically picked this hotel whilst driving through Northern France as it was the only one with an outdoor pool. We drove 60 miles out of our way as the forecast was hot and we checked two days prior that the pool was open as we had 4 kids anxious for a swim. On arrival I was told it was awaiting a maintenance man that was taking 30 mins, then 2 hours then not at all. I would have expected some compensation or gesture from the hotel reception. However it was a shrug and a comment “do you want to stay someone else”?! Very poor service which was a shame as the hotel was reasonable and the breakfast pleasant. I could have stayed elsewhere for half the price to add insult to injury so paid the premium for the pool!. After I paid my bill - a nice man happened to chat to us asking if we’d had a nice stay (I believe he was the manager) He seemed more interested and he managed the situation much more professionally and respectfully. Pity he wasn’t around the day prior...too little too late.
Good value for money
Friendly stuff, Covid secure! Free parking and easy shopping around the area.
Overall a nice clean hotel with a small but nice pool. Breakfast was ok. Room was nice too.
The property looks like it needs a refurbishment. The staff were great but the rooms needed to be painted and a makeover.
Family touring holiday
Accomodation had stairs and no lift. TV was extremely small and didn't have USB connection. No meal options close. Had to drive 15minutes to next town for restaurants. Office only available until 8pm. Had a laundry which was awesome however it didn't have a change dispenser and with the office closing early, you couldn't take full advantage of it. Also indoor pool closed early and the kids would have loved a swim at the end of a days travel.
Super staff and rooms.
Great. Super staff. Excellent value. Lunch was a slight disappointment.
Great find
Great hotel food was good excellent, the pool an added bonus cery family friendly.
Hotel run down and in need of updating, we have gluten allergies and the waiter was quite flippant luckily the waitress was very understanding and luckily stopped us from eating the wrong food
Good hotel for transit
Nice hotel in the hotel area outside the city. Easy to find. Friendly staff. 2 beds in the room for max 4 people. Carpet was outdated
It served the purpose of a place to sleep as we were passing through.
Lovely stay-over hotel. Quiet location despite being close to major roads. Lovely bed and the breakfast buffet is super. Large shopping centre within 500m as well for cheap fuel and supplies.
The stay itself was better than the first impression. The room carpet needs to be replaced! But the room space is good and it was quiet. The breakfast was very good. Service overall was good. The hotel location is close to the highway which what you need when you are using a car. But to go to the Amiens center will take time. And nothing interesting around hotel itself.
Wonderful hotel with friendly staff no issues at all.
What a disappointment
Compared to other Novotel hotels I’ve stayed at, this is definitely the worst, in fact probably one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The hotel is not in a great area( okay, it services the local airport so people are only going to crash there for a night so no biggy) but when you see the actual hotel compare to the on line photos, you will feel slightly robbed. As I walked to my room , I noticed that there was wall paper hanging off the wall and skirting boards coming away as well. In my room, the paper around the toilet was coming away and there was a lovely shade of brown surrounding the u bend. The shower was also in need of some deep cleaning but was in keeping with the rest of the hotel. The restaurant food was ok but the staff didn’t seem to be arsed to help anyone and just did the bare minimum ( no helpful smile ) . What signifies the state of the hotel is the big Novotel sign on top of the building. On line it looks all shiny and new and colourful, but in reality, it was badly bleached . This site should not be compared to any other Novotel
Friendly and helpful staff. Hotel is in a convenient location for visiting the WW1 Somme memorials, 20-30 min drive away from museums and other places of interest.
OK...ish
Nice welcome. Room was rather dated (especially bathroom) but clean. Room carpet and corridor were very stained...need replacing! Biggest problem was non-functioning air conditioning in room. It was 26C outside and about 30C in the room. We switched the aircon on and adjusted it but it did nothing Finally, the pillows were awfully uncomfortable...square (what's that all about?). We only noticed other pillows in plastic bags the next morning...our bad. Apart from that our stay was OK. We are staying again next Monday and will ask for a better room.
Good
Highly recommend
One night stop over on the way back to the U.K. Staff were very helpful and welcoming, the hotel room was comfortable and clean and as usual a delicious breakfast. Would highly recommend
Great hotel made better by its great staff
I've rarely been to a hotel where every member of staff was so brilliantly helpful. Nothing was a bother to them. Absolutely fantastic!
OK - nothing more
Overall absolutely fine for the money. Dated and in need of updating. Overpriced restaurant.
On business . Great food , excellent staff & lovel
On business . Great food , excellent staff & lovely pool .
Perfect for an over night stop. Clean, well organised and friendly. Good location for motorway access and retail park.
Great staff and service. Building needs some tlc.
The swimming pool area had cracked tiles which could cause injury. The state of repair of the decor needs a refurbishment. The air con in the room didn't work correctly and meant we didn't get much sleep due to the heat and humidity. All of the staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. We enjoyed our stay.
Recommended
Nice and clean hotel. Fabulous breakfast. Helpful staff. Also excellent value
Good hotel, close to the ferry’s & battlefields
Hotel was clean and quite comfortable, however, the carpet in the room was badly in need of replacing. Lovely breakfast with a great selection of hot & cold food and a good variety of drinks. The swimming pool was well used, whilst we were there, and our kids loved it. We would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves in the area.
Clean modern business hotel, good value
Good choice for overnight stop on route to or from Loire region.
A good hotel on route to Calais.
The staff where friendly and helpful. The accommodation clean and tidy, ideal for a one night stay.
Nice staff, time for a full referbishment
Staff were pleasant and helpful, and we were made to feel welcome. Some parts of the hotel have been updated relatively recently, but no one area has been completely renovated. Shower temperature fluctuations were very hot at times! An out of town location which has pros and cons.
The hotel was a little further from the CBD than anticipated but all other things considered I would stay there again
Time for some renovations
Overall view was that the hotel could do with some upgrading. On first checking in, our key card did not work, and after many attempts to remedy this with the staff, and with the hotel fully booked, we were left with only being able to enter our room by having staff accompany us every time we wanted to enter the room. This was a pain in the neck!! The location was quite satisfactory, and there was plenty of on-site parking available.
Handy for stop-over on way back to Calais, good check-in service when we arrived late at night and lovely breakfast in morning. Only niggle was that the shower temperature kept changing.
EXPEDIA address problem
Difficult time to find hotel because EXPEDIA only gave partial address in e-mail confirmation. We had to look up hotel and get correct address to find it.
A good stay
Very nicely presented hotel with good bedroom, bathroom and breakfast facilities. Many thanks.
Great location and easy to find. Close to everything "Normandy". They have ice when you want it.
An acceptable chain hotel
We chose this hotel as it has parking facilities that did not involve driving into the city centre. The location is on the east side of the city and is easily accessible from the N25 road. The location is very quiet as it is away from any main roads. The outside appearance is very functional, probably built in the 1980s and the interior décor is in the same style. It appears to cater mostly for business people staying one or two nights. The buffet breakfast was what you would expect to find in this type of establishment. We ate in the restaurant on the first night but the choice was limited. There a frequent bus services to get into the city, but the service drops to every 40 minutes after 9.30 p.m. It takes about 20 minutes into the centre and avoids the hassle of finding somewhere to park. Most of the attractions in the city are within easy walking distance. When we booked I chose largely on location and if I had known that the Campanile was next door I would probably have booked that instead as it offers better value for money for much the same standard of room and food..
Lovley hotel although just a stop gap so didn't use the facilities! However we chose not to eat breakfast as was rather expensive for continental!
Nah, find another hotel
We generally like Novotels, but this one was blah... We were supposed to have a queen bed and double bed; well the double bed ended up being a crappy fold-out couch that could not hold two young children, so one of our kids slept on the floor. The room was filthy (see attached photos).
One night only.......
Okay for a stop over on the way home to channel crossing. Room is very tired and in desperate need of renovating, the wallpaper in the toilet had peeled and significant pieces missing. The room was clean and the beds firm allowing a good nights sleep. Breakfast was very busy, the hotel was full, and the staff struggled but were helpful at all times. They needed at least one more member to cope. Okay for a stop over but no more than that in it's current state.
ANZAC Day stay at Amiens
We booked this hotel as it was very convenient and close to the departure point for the ANZAC Day service at Villers-Bretonneux. It was within walking distance to the bus stop. The staff were every helpful and hotel and rooms clean. The staff arranged breakfast boxes for our early departure on the day of the service. The hotel could do with a facelift. Overall very helpful and friendly staff. Amiens is a short taxi trip if you are wanting to shop and see the sights and dine at local restaurants with atmosphere.
Tired hotel
OK value for money only stayed one night. Not of the standard of other Nov Hotels in England.
Decent hotel but bad condition
Hotel was ok but the carpets were stained and worn and there was paint peeling off the walls in the bathroom. The staff were not exactly friendly at the restaurant. The location was not close to town and didn't seem very safe.
One night stay
Easy on, easy off location. Could have has better pillows. Okay for a one night stay.
Great Somme location
Excellent for a couple of day's stop over to explore the Somme battle fields. Quiet hotel mid week even in August. Good facilities to the Novotel formula, food was good, but don't ask for Kronenbourg ask for 1664! Easy location to get out of Amiens to all the main WW1 Somme sites as well as getting to beautiful Amiens Cathedral.
GREAT STOP-OVER LOCATION - NEAR TO SHOPS CENTRE OF
the kids liked the pool staff were very helpful rooms were clean and comfortable
Comfortable and quiet with plenty of parking.
My wife, dog, and I were sightseeing in northern France and spent one night at the Novotel. The choice of decent hotels in the Amiens area that take dogs and have parking is limited. The Novotel seems to have been a good choice. This hotel is aimed at people in Amiens on business. It is comfortable and quiet. There is plenty of parking.
Excellent
Stayed for 7 nights and use the hotel as a base camp for my self guided tour of World War 1 battle sites. The hotel was about 30 minutes to the start of each of my tours which was a nice drive because the countryside is gorgeous. The breakfast buffet in the morning was exceptional with lots of choices and got my day started off right. The free self-parking was also great amenity. The room had a water kettle to boil water for coffee that I took with me on my tours as well as a small refrigerator which was nice to keep some small sandwiches and sodas for the evening. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anybody who needs a hotel in that part of France.
Comfortable hotel
Within easy reach of Amiens centre by car. Good room facilities but in commercial sector so nothing of note within walking distance.
Great stay
The check-in was convenient and fast. The staff was also friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was pretty good.
Not a great choice for a stay in Amiens
Hotel was standard Novotel. Room carpet was filthy, no soap or shampoo in the room, uncomfortable bed
Business traveller
1 night stay on way to business meeting. Location and room were fine but some of the crockery at breakfast was not properly cleaned by the dishwasher.
Not quite the city
Chose the hotel because it was used by a battlefields tour which was cancelled. Agree with many of the previous reviews. The hotel would be great for business but not so good for holidays/tourism. Its nowhere near the centre of the city and has limited facilities in the surrounding area. Air conditioning didn't work but the staff seemed surprised when we told them of the problem. Mini bar is just a wine cooler fridge - non drinks, etc. and it did not get cold. Breakfast was all you could want with plenty of choice. Dinner was something else. Wok fried noodles & veg was more like two minute noodles and frozen mixed veg. We used our GPS to locate some better restaurants. Staff were friendly with a generally good grasp of English. Smokers have to go outside so that's a plus.
Restaurant Opening
Fine overnight stay for going South other than staff did not tell us that the restaurant opened for dinner at 7PM. Let us sit in restaurant with our three small kids from 6.30PM for 10 mins while they had their dinner in next door room. Could have let us know. Took the kids to eat in McDonalds eventually and we had dinner later. Apart from this Hotel great!
Just disappointed by the extremely cold swimming pool.....bbrrrhhh
Stopover on way to Calais
Excellent. Great facilities and very clean. Room was very nice, staff friendly and good English
Nice hotel for the price
We had to have assistance closing the window which we noticed was partially open when we arrived. Also, no tissue in the bathroom and no pillow case on one of the pillows. The staff was accommodating in correcting the issues but it would have been nicer to not have the issues. Not enough outlets for charging phones and laptops.
Good for a stop over
Good hotel, clean and quite comfortable. Pillows weren't the best otherwise I'd have rated it higher. Staff were lovely but the food in the restaurant wasn't great. The stir fry was more like super noodles with chopped vegetables! Breakfast was good though, nice choices and tasty.
Good stay
Staff great, very helpful. Breakfast excellent, dinner good. Easy to get into Amiens and battlefields.
Too far from centre
Hotel room is standard formula for Novotel hotels in larger regional areas. Air conditioning did not work and room was hot even though external temperature only reached low 20s in centigrades. Very dated rooms and hotel. Located approx 5km from city centre. Would only recommend if you have a car.
Stayed for 2 nights, both evening meals were poorly served. When they had forgotten my entree for the second time and my wife had finished her's, I cancelled mine, 5 minutes later mine arrive. The second evening it was the turn of my sweet. Bar service was good and so was reception. Room service was good but there should have been more water for two people in the fridge.
Good nights sleep after a horrendous exit from Par
Had trouble finding the hotel- more signs along the way would be helpful.
Well positioned hotel within easy reach to roads
Staff very helpful - good service all round. This was only intended as an overnight stop but the facilities were impressive and we thought we would make another visit.
I won't be back
I would be embarrassed to call this a Novatel. It was very hard to find from the map and road works did not help, once found I wished I hadn't booked it. Although it was not full we could not stay on the ground floor and there was no elevator so my my wife and I had to carry our bags - not easy with knee problem and wife's bad back. The room was very tired and doors etc squeeked. The bed was uncomfortable and the hotel was a long way from everything. Breakfast was included in our booking - it must have been ok as I cannot recall it.
Bathroom/shower units are overdue for refit
Second stay here in the last three months. Both rooms I have stayed in had bath/shower units that were well past the time for a refit, with ground in dirt & discoloration. Otherwise the hotel is in good condition. The rooms are clean and formulaic for Novotel. The service is good. Ample parking. Handy for Casino hypermarket half a mile away. Bar prices are excessive and vegetarian food is poor/limited. Reception public PC has been out of date since first visit, so ensure you take your own device as they dont appear to be in a hurry to fix theirs!
I thought it would be better
First thing: This hotel is not located in Amiens. It's located at Pole Jules Verne. Despite it's romantic sounding name, it's a commercial and industrial area close to the motorway. This might be my bad for not researching properly. Second thing: Novotel in Aus is a 4* brand. This hotel wss no better than a 3* Third thing: Aircon next to useless. It was reasonably priced on a no cancelation basis and at that price it's worth it. Any more and the value for money doesn't stand up in my view.
ok
this hotel is on an industrial park. can recommend the nearby buffelo grill for evening meal.the staff were not always around when needed. breakfast had good selection bacon etc. the floor covering needed updating.we had one evening meal not really novotel standard, cold plates.
Hotel smelt on damp carpet
On entering the hotel it had a very damp wet carpet smell. Other than that the hotel was good although there was no lift. Our evening meal and breakfast was nice and staff very friendly.
Could not have asked for more!
Hotel lived up to Novotel's high standard. Staff keen to help. Room clean, spacious and comfortable. One set back is that the Hotel sign is blocked out by a large tree and this required us to ring the hotel and be guided there. Take away continental breakfast for 8 euro was more than adequate. Being able to speak a little French was a bonus.
Very satisfied
A very pleasant hotel. We were only there one night on business but room was comfortable and clean and the hotel setting pleasant. The restaurant is attractive but food fairly indifferent. All in all a decent reasonably priced place to stay. Would go again.
Very handy for the motorway
Pleasant enough hotel directly adjacent to the motorway for an overnight stop on the way further south. Its located on a trading estate at the edge of Amiens, so there are very limited options in the vicinity but there is a bar & restaurant on site. The bar is expensive (7.20EUR for 500ml beer), so plan ahead and bring some beer with you or go to Casino Geant (hypermarket) only a couple of roads away. Staff were friendly and helpful, with good English.
Nice hotel
Very good for a stop over. Pleasant staff and near to local shops
Away from the Centre
This hotel was a bit our from the centre of town and just a bit hard to find - we asked directions at a nearby gas station - but served us well. The rooms were clean and comfortable, pretty standard for a chain hotel.
Dated hotel. Lovely staff
Food was terrible, rooms were dated staff were lovely.
Good stay at Novotel Glizy
We like Novotel. However this time we were concerned having a safe that was not working because it had a hole drilled by someone who opened it prior our stay. ALSO after leaving we discovered that my telephone (from the United States) had been stolen from the room creating a financial prejudice.
Nice hotel, especially for businessmen
This is a hotel in the Novotel chain. As such it is a well-built hotel, with comfortable modern rooms. My sense is that this hotel caters mostly to businessmen who are travelling to nearby companies and businesses. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was relatively large, with modern bathroom and TV. The only downside I experienced was that the hotel restaurant area was so busy it took a while to be served and taken care of. The waiters seemed to be having some problem with the computerized system for placing orders.
Almost Amiens
Out of town and a bit dated on the outside, modern and full of features on the inside. We had the pool to ourselves. A short drive to Amiens and large shops.
