The Staff at Hotel Nena is amazing! They are super friendly and certainly know how to make you feel special. We were helped to get to restaurants and areas around. It is walking distance to Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazar and Museums. There is variety of food and we always felt safe. Highly recommended!
Didn't receive the free upgrade because the hotel was fully booked, so understandable. This property was terrific, close to many of Istanbul's main attractions and for others, public transit was easy to use and nearby. Staff were great and our room was very comfortable. Highly recommended property.
Great hotel stay for Sultanhamet access. Easy walk to mosques, Topkapi, and grand bazaar. Walkable neighborhood, bakery, supermarket, and two tram stops nearby. Very nice breakfast with good options, lots of black coffee, fell in love with a special almond honey cookie. Staff were always available and helpul.
Always enjoy my time here. Thank you to the staff and I look forward to staying again soon. Fantastic hotel
Hotel Nena was an awesome choice for our stay in Istanbul. Property is just as described, very clean and comfortable room. Staff were awesome. Communication was easy. Hotel contacted as soon as booking confirmed to welcome us, book transportation and offer excursions and info about the area. Very close to Basilica Cistern, Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. Plenty of shops and restaurants in the area. Very safe neighbourhood. Breakfast in the morning very plentiful and delicious. Would stay again and recommend to anyone staying in Sultanhamet area.
The hotel is very conveniently located, a short walk to most tourist sites, and with a tram stop a block away for easy access to places further away. The room was immaculately clean, very comfortable and quiet, with very nice beds, high quality linen, and a spotless bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the manager Aziz went out of his way with tourist tips. It was also priced attractively. You cannot go wrong with this hotel, especially as a tourist looking to enjoy all the local tourist sites in Sultanahment.
Excellent location in easy walking distance to restaurants, shops, trams and old city attractions including Blue Mosque, Tokapi Palace, Suleymaniye Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern & Grand Bazaar. Mine host Aziz couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming, and the staff were courteous and efficient. I'd have no hesitation recommending Hotel Nena as a good base at a reasonable price.
Love this hotel. Very friendly & helpful employees. Aziz was great, so was the doorman & housekeeping. Can’t beat the location of this property. Only minutes to Blue Mosque & Hagia Sophia. Tram is just minutes away too. Soooo convenient!! Not my 1st time in Istanbul, but this hotel was the perfect location. We will definitely return.
Flawless hotel with wonderful staff. Very welcoming and the area around was very nice and convenient to the attractions :)
Amazing
The location of the hotel was close to everything. The room was clean and the staff was very helpful. A special thank you to Aziz who went out of his way to help us, and make our stay in the hotel very pleasant.
Excellent
Excellent in all ways!!q
Comfortable stay in terrific location.
The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The room was ver well appointed and comfortable. Excellent temperature control. Breakfast was superb. I have been to Istanbul 12 times and this hotel was the best location. 3 minutes to tram, 15 minute walk to the Blue Mosque and 1 minute to an excellent restaurant. Who could ask for anything more?
Extraordnary hotel, service, installations, quality of room/food, personal attention to all our needs….. exceptional option that I will use on my next trip to Turkey.
Очень уютный и комфортный отель с прекрасными завтраками.В самом центре исторического города. Персонал очень внимательный и приветливый.
Our stay at Hotel Nena was excellent mainly due to its quality of service and the location of the hotel, which is located in a very central area close to many important attractions in Istanbul. The breakfast service is good as is the cleaning maintenance in the rooms. The most important thing about the satisfaction of our stay was the attention of Aziz at the reception, who guided us at all times about activities we could do. Aziz made sure we were okay at all times and answered every question or concern. Thank you, Aziz, for everything, especially for the surprise on my birthday. We highly recommend this hotel for a happy stay in Istanbul. Yorjam and Betty
great hotel , a stone throw away from all the attractions of blue mosque, aya Sophia and Topkapi place. Really enjoyed our stay in 402 and 403 and Aziz and his team gave us a really warm welcome. Couldn't fault anything and definitely will be back to stay here again!!
Thus hotel is in a wonderful location within a short walk to Sofia, the Palace, the Blue Mosque Hippodrome, and the Grand Bazaar, etc.The staff is outstanding and goes above and beyond to make the guests' stay enjoyable. Gokhan arranged all my tours and he did an excellent job! Every single staff member was friendly, helpful, and professional. One even went to the jeweler close by and picked up the ring that was being repaired. The breakfast was outstanding with lots of choices. The room was small but very nice and the bed very comfortable.
Good location,clean property
Location was very good. Service was very good especially Aziz and the guy who works the day shift. Breakfast was so so. Be prepared to be offered excursions. Overall would return Istanbul is a very nice place to visit.
everything was good staff was helpful.
Location is the main reason we stayed here. It is very conveniently located from all the old city attractions. Everything else was decent but not extra ordinary. Beware of front desk staff they try to push you to buy tours and cruises etc. Just say no as Istanbul is full of scammers
Smallish, but very comfortable room. Fantastic breakfast. Easy access to the old town part of Istanbul.
Excellent choice highly recommend. Staff are wonderful and very helpful. Mehmed and other staff were so kind and went above and beyond expectations. Morning buffet breakfast was remarkable! Location is excellent everything is walking distance. They will also arrange private transfer to and from hotel (for fee). Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable. Also, it’s very clean and modern and newly updated.
Hotel Nena is a great place to stay,The hotel is close to many famous landmarks like the Sultan Ahmed Mosque and Aya Sofia Mosque. It's also conveniently located near many shops and restaurants, as well as the Big Bazaar and the metro station definitely I recommend this hotel and I will stay there next time I'm in Istanbul.
Good Location, Nice Stay, Renovated Hotel
The location of hotel is very good near Aya Sophia, blue mosque, Topkapi palace (walking) and grand bazar (by tram), and many shops around the area. The rooms was small, the cleaning was very good, Breakfast was super and includes variety of choices Moreover, the kitchen service was good and they do whatever you want for example, omelette,..etc. I just got a bad impression during the check-in. The employee who checked me in was a bit rude and said to me, “I can check you in to the hotel at noon and not now,” since I arrived in the morning. Just because I asked him to see the room before completing the check-in and do the payment. I have the right to see the condition of the rooms because sometimes the pictures on the websites differ from reality. But he was annoyed by that!!!
The location was brilliant with so many attractions and restaurants within easy walking distance. The staff on Reception were extremely friendly and helpful. My only suggestion would be for the restaurant to purchase a more efficient toaster. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Great location, walking minutes for many touristic areas, close to the Tram station. Friendly staff and clean room
Great location in the old city. Hotel room was very small so with 2 suitcases it was hard to move around. Breakfast was lovely.
Staff was so very helpful. The room, although small, was very clean and well maintained.
The staff was very friendly and efficient. Location is excellent to see the major sights in the Old City. A very vibrant area.
Amazing
Good location
We had the best room in the hotel. It was room 501, the top floor with a balcony with a gorgeous view of the old city, specifically The Blue Mosque and Sofia Hagia. The location is excellent for being within walking distance of the major landmarks. ultimately it is still a 3 star hotel.
The location is great if you want to stay in the center. The breakfast staff was super, very attentive and very helpful.
The room I paid for was meant to be 2 single beds, instead got put into a small room with a double bed. When I had arrived at reception, they advised I had to pay more because I paid the child rate for my teenager, eventhough at time of booking and paying in full the cost included a child of up to 17 years old…So not very happy about that. I requested an iron in the room when the hotel staff text me a few days before arriving, it was not in the room when we arrived. I then went to reception the next day to request an iron again and the man at reception said he would get an iron sent to the room. This never happened during our stay. The breakfast was good, plenty of options to choose from. The staff were pleasant….but again the rooms are very small so may be suitable for a single occupancy only. The hotel is very close to all the main historical sites and the tram which is a bonus.
Great Location, Friendly Staff, highly recommend
This is a fantastic location for sightseeing in Istanbul. The Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, Basilica Cistern, and many more things are within walking range. The tram station is close by in case you want to venture further out. The free breakfast was great every morning, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend staying here. I'd definetely come back in the future.
They guys are the reception we’re very helpful
The hotel is small but conveniently located. The service level is superb. We will certainly choose this hotel again when we return to Turkey!
Great location and comfortable room for exploring Istanbul. Lovely check in, delicious breakfast and appreciated the VIP upgrade to a superior room.
Beautiful hotel and staff
Beautiful hotel, staff very friendly and always helpful, there room was excellent also de location! Near every important landmarks in Istanbul! I wish I can remember every name to mention, Ismail, and Olguchan were very helpful. I recommend this hotel, I’ll be back!
Great location and fantastic views. Accommodating staff. Good breakfast buffet.
Excellent location
Great location, delicious breakfast and nice rooms.
Nice place in a great location, but the price is really way too high while the room size is very small. The value doesn't quite match up.
The hotel has a modern and nice design. Our room was very comfortable. Breakfast was good.
Love ❤️
Excellent hotel, beautiful, excellent location
Our stay here was amazing. The staff was very helpful and the rooms were clean and spacious
Very friendly and attentive staff.
Property is very clean and the staff is very friendly, location is at its best
The hotel was beautiful and staff were really helpful.
Great hotel, great location, helpful staff
I stayed for two days on a layover from the US to India. Breakfast was included and was a buffet with a large selection of hot and cold items. The room has bottled water and a tea pot and several different flavors of teas (and maybe coffee, but I do not drink coffee, so I did not retain the details). The gentlemen on the front desk was extremely helpful -- offering luggage storage after checking out, ordering a taxi, and printing a short document that I emailed to him. I find the room size perfectly fine, but if you are accustomed to very large, spacious rooms, you may find it a bit tight. There was plentiful hot water, both in flow and duration. The location was great, as it is walking distance to many places. I would happily stay here again.
This property was super clean, breakfast was amazing, and many main attractions were walking distance (super close to the main tram station too). The only slight downside was the people in the room next to us were smoking so some of the smell came through (but this is probably for all hotels). Would stay here again - so clean and new!!!
Very nice staff. Clean rooms, close to everything touristy and the hotel’s interior is very new too. PLUS THEY HAVE A HUGE
Clean and friendly. The rooms a very small.
What a fantastic hotel, right in the heart of Sultanahmet. From the moment I arrived at Hotel Nena, the staff were fantastic, doing everything they could to make my experience memorable, thank you! Apart from the great staff, the hotel itself is also excellent, with the rooms being recently renovated to very high standard, this made for an even better stay. Located within easy walking distance to all the key sites in the district, this was the perfect location to explore from. Again though, the staff without exception were incredibly friendly, helpful and provided excellent recommendations to make my sightseeing goals as easy as possible and my overall stay at Nena Hotel one to remember.
Nothing was unique . Rate was a way high compared to other hotels around .tiny room . No space to walk . No soap sufficient given . No wifi connection. Not recommend any one
Nice staff
Fantastic Experience.
It was great staying at the hotel. Staff was wonderful and friendly. I would recommended it to others i now.
EXCELLENT Highly recommend
The hotel is in an EXCELLENT location. Easy walk to all the sights and Bazaars. Very friendly staff, clean, good turkish breakfast, highly recommend. Elevator is a big bonus as not many hotels have them. I felt safe, welcomed and comfortable here the entire time as a solo female traveler.
Nice place but way too small. Hardly movable in the room.
I love this hotel. Nice area. Good breakfast. Very clean. Professional and friendly staff
The staff were really friendly and welcoming.
Would definitely be staying here again when i return to Istanbul! Staff was amazing, very helpful and friendly. Hotel is very clean and close to restaurants, shops, bazaar, mosques, etc!
Nice place and staff to stay with Very friendly and helpful
The hotel nena is my favorite hotel so far. I booked an economy room which is small and the gentleman at the desk on his own upgraded me to a bigger room with a outdoor balcony that had an amazing view. The breakfast was also great with a great variety. So location great Cleanliness great Staff great Breakfast grrat
Prime location as your base to explore the City! Only 5’ walk to Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, Topcapi, Grand Bazaar fabulous hamams (including the fabled Hurrem Sultan). Great restaurants everywhere. Two tram stations within 4’ to take you everywhere in the City, including Beyoglu/ Pera/ Istiklal St, Spice Market. Just figure out the Istanbul Card, it costs pennies to ride. Hotel staff made trip recommendations, we took the cruise to the Princes islands, a fantastic whole day experience with lunch and dance on the boat included for 35$, and we were picked up at the hotel. Staff very attentive and courteous. I had to ship something back to the US- there is a shipping company across the street! Last but not least, did I mention the huge breakfast every morning? You’ll love it!
great customer service and location. hotel is very clean! we will be back
A five star hotel
Excellent hotel ( location, cleaness, service, conditions...) Really amazing, Deserve to be a 5 star hotel
A brilliant hotel which has been furnished to modern standard. The rooms are nice but slightly small. The breakfast is excellent with a good variety. The location of the hotel is fabulous. A couple of minutes walk to the blue mosque and grand bazaar.
Overall great location
BEST VACATION
EXCELLENT
Very clean, excellent customer service
Amazing friendly staff, beautiful new refurbished hotel and cosy comfortable rooms. Thank you especially to Ismail and Mehmet. Would definitely recommend
Great Hotel
Brilliantly located hotel, newly refurbished, clean and comfortable . Good breakfast with lots of options.
Remodeled hotel close to everything
Totally remodeled. Nice room. Breakfast was good. Service at front desk was helpful. Close to about everything.
Amazing hotel
A beautiful, clean and elegant hotel with lovely rooms and a buffet breakfast included. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. I had an amazing stay here over 10 days and would definitely return in the future. An impressive hotel for a 3 star, 100% recommend.
Very comfy and super helpful staff
It was my second stay at this hotel. Great hotel, clean, very comfortable and the staff are very very helpful. I will be staying with them next time I am in Istanbul.
I stayed there twice in 2019 and would recommend it.
I booked a room for my Mum and Dad. They really enjoyed the hospitality and service. Breakfast was great plenty of items to choose from. Room gets clean every day. Staff was very helpful took luggage to and from the room. They went an extra mile to keep the luggage for few hours after check out so that my mum and dad doesn't have to carry around. Overall brilliant experience close to all the main attractions. I actually book this hotel after read reviews and now my mum and dad was happy with everything i would highly recommend this hotel.
AC in the room never worked, we were asked to keep window open to get fresh air. Very funny, right? They should fix AC.
In 2010 I stayed at Hotel Nena so it was my hotel of choice to pick for return trip. We enjoyed everything about our stay but the stand out conribution to that enjoyment must be the contribution made by every member of staff from the young man and woman ho assisted at breakfast, to those who cleaned and presented welcoming bedrooms, and the staff at reception . Can't fault Hotel Nena. THANKYOU.
Nice 3 start with an incredible view !
The location of the hotel is amazing, close to main attraction. Breakfast is ok but they should change the menu...it was exactly the same for 3 days. They need a magnifier glass in the bathroom and a regular hair dryer, very unconfortable to dry long hair with that dryer!
Everything great except room and bathroom were small
Will book again, near to tram station, near to Blue Mosque, Sophia Hagia, Sultanahahmet park, local supermarkets, restaurants. Hotel provides spread of breakfast buffet, nice cappuccino! Hopefully Expedia has more promotion!
Excellent location. Beautiful sunrise view from the restaurant of the Blue mosque and Hagia Sophia.
Doesnt follow American standards of doing business
This area of Istanbul has many predators colluding with shop owners and others into unsavory methods at getting you to make purchases here. Carpet merchants are the worst and even hotel receptionists are not to be trusted. The hotel, through their agent overcharged me by over $200 on for a 2 day trip that I later learned from local agencies around the hotel. Be aware there is a Tourist Police you can access for assistance. I have traveled many countries. The area in Sultanahmet has more predictors than any place I have been. It is beautiful and clean but full of liars.
Perfect location
Staff were extremely friendly, accommodating and helpful. My family really enjoyed their stay there. Definitely would recommend to others!
Great location and very friendly staff . Breakfast is excellent with big variety of food.
Great Decor and room in very good condition with signs of age, but very comfortable nonetheless.
Helpful staff great location close to tram I enjoyed it
Every thing happens is very good just the room it’s tight the staff is friendly and the food is very good and most of the staff helpful thanks for everything
It's a excellent stuff good location clean and great breakfast .
Stayed here with family for four nights earlier this month. The building has tons of character and is in an excellent location. It's no more than an easy 10-minute walk to the Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar. Both the hotel and our room were spotlessly clean. Beds were firm but comfortable, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent with plenty of hot water. The breakfast every morning is something to look forward to, and absolutely delicious - plentiful with lots of local offerings. And the view from the breakfast room is stunning looking out over the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia to the sea. However, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the best part of the hotel. The staff is wonderful! Housekeeping was efficient and kept the room clean and bedding changed. And our favorite part of every day was chatting with Sedat at the front desk. If I owned a hotel, I would hire Sedat to work for me. He was so kind to my family and me, and always a delight to speak with. Sedat gave us detailed directions to everything including how to buy metro tickets, etc. He also helped us find a great tour guide and recommended restaurants in the neighborhood which we found delicious. If we needed anything Sedat was immediately responsive. One of the best stays I've had anywhere in the world!
Good stay for the night in Istanbul. Near all of the restaurants and public transportation
Bad condition
The hotel condition is not ready for stay but further renovation is much desired. I felt like staying in a very old house during the visit.
Great location. Staff very helpful. Breakfast lovely with stunning views from the terrace. Very good value for so much.
Cozy with wonderful terrace
The hotel has a great location. Is vintage and thus very basic, no pool no fitness no sauna etc. The price is reasonable, the breakfast good, and the rooftop has a wonderful view over the nearby Blue Mosque. The guys at the reception were very helpful. BUT: for the love of God, do NOT book a trip with Plan Tour Istanbul the reception is offering. That's a complete rip-off, extremely overpriced lousy tour. You are literally couple minutes walk to the key city highlights, make the tour on your own!
Perfect!
We stayed in Istanbul for two days as a layover and wanted a boutique hotel that has local flair. Nena was perfect. Not only was the location stellar, our manager, Sedat, gave excellent suggestions! Our little side trip turned into an experience of a lifetime! Thank you Hotel Nena and staff!
Staff were friendly , location was good as well as the breakfast
Hotel Nena has very good breakfast and is conveniently located.
