This property location perfect for beach and park access also food is good and very reasonable price their own restaurant
A nice, clean property facing the beautiful beach. The staff was nice and fluent in English.
Overall is good. Very close to the beach and Manuel Antonio park. Nice landscaping. Good quality rooms. No swimming pool on the property and no breakfast included. We had to move the beds around the room because the air conditioner was blowing cold air right at us and we were afraid to get sick.
Our honeymoon in Costa Rica!
My wife and I started and ended our honeymoon here Our first stay was in room #3. Very comfortable bed and nice room. Our second stay was in room #11. Very UNcomfortable bed, but still a nice room. If we go to Costa Rica again, we would not hesitate to stay here again, with the hope of having a comfortable bed!
Its location is really close to National Park, you can see the sea by the window and just need to walk a few meters to the beach. If you are lucky , you can see some wild life near the location.
Very professional
This is a great hotel if you want to be next to the beach and away from town. It is ideal if you want a decent hotel. If you are looking for a higher quality hotel this is not the place, but it was nice with all the conveniences.
Perfect place across from ocean. Easy stay
Great spot, clean and has everything you need.
So-so
Chose here because it is close to beach and Entrance to Manuel Antonio National Park. Good hotel if you surf. Next time I'd opt to stay on the hill where most other hotels and restaurants are, with great ocean views. The restaurant on site was under contraction so we couldn't eat there most days, which was a bother. Baldi Fresh down the street had good food!
Don’t do it. Dirty and smelly. So bad they make you sign a “no prostitution” agreement. Rooms are actually dirty with filth and smell. Worse than any motel I’ve ever stayed in and not even cheap! Walls are dirty, furniture is dirty. The staff are nice and apologetic but that’s it.
The rooms need to be updated. The beds were a little hard for my liking. I booked this hotel for its location. The location to the beach is the best thing about this hotel.
Great place to stay
Location is perfect. National Park 10 min walk and beach front with the view of the ocean.
The access to the public beach was convenient. Be careful of the monkeys, they will steal your food.
Beware if you’re a family of 4!
We were totally duped and this hotel is fraudulent. When we arrived the receptionist told me it is a cheaper rate on Hotels.com. According to the hotel’s website and Hotels.com the double room sleeps 4 however they charged an additional “extra person” fee (we are 2 parents 2 kids) of $120 without forewarning us. With all taxes and fees the room is actually $200 a night, a complete rip off for the run down condition of the room, no pool or amenities, etc. When I asked the office to remove the fee they blamed it on Hotels.com but when I reached out to Hotels.com and they contacted the hotel several times were told that they didn’t charge the fee. Somehow the hotel either fraudulently charges for an extra person even though they say the room sleeps 4 or report the room as a single so they can charge extra. Either way it is a scam. If they respond here they will again blame it on Hotels.com (has never ever happened with that site). The photos online must’ve been either a single remodel or taken years ago as the rooms are currently dingy, some outlets do not work, they hadn’t cleaned out the trash can by the toilet containing others dirty wipes, no toilet paper holder, room detail, etc. Again, would not have been a deal breaker for the right price but not for $200 a night.
Not the best choice of oceanfront hotel
It did not have a refrigerator, not even a waste basket in the room, no table either nor chair to work .it does not deserve the rating it has. A much cheaper hotel where friends were staying offered a beautiful swimming pool and nice breakfast. It only offers a nice view of the national park .
And front of the balcony hotel room all the two of buses left the diesel engines running while waiting for the customer which made the room smell like diesel
This hotel was an absolute gem! It’s not the fanciest, but it had clean rooms and an extraordinary view from the balcony. Not to mention all the wildlife I spotted on the premises! It’s directly across from the beach and it’s at the very end of the road so it’s very private. The staff was super friendly and the humidifier was already up and running in our room upon arrival. Definitely a good stay!
Lack of amenities.
The staff was awesome ❤️
nice room, walk across the street to a A beach, so many dining options all walking distance.
Good time
Our stay (6night) was pretty good. Of course we missed a fridge, coffee/tea maker in our room, but we've bought a cooler and tea maker and enjoyed our time there. It's difficult to beat this location.
The electrical outlets did not work. Could not charge our cell phones. The ceiling fan was not well attached to the ceiling and looked like it would fall off if we turned it on. There was a spider the size of my hand in the room.
Perfect location, great price & 100 feet to walk to the beach
This hotel is in a great location. We loved being able to walk right out to the beach and eat dinner at night overlooking the ocean from the hotel’s restaurant. The food at the restaurant was really good. We probably would’ve eaten there even if we weren’t staying at the hotel.
Great location
Wonderful location close to the beach. Rooms were clean, staff friendly. Good restaurant across the street
Basic with Really Nothing To Offer But Lication
The rooms are super basic. There is no coffee maker no safe no fridge and the bathroom towels are like sandpaper. Other than it’s 5 min walk to the park or that it’s across the street from the beach, this hotel has nothing going for it.
Good budget hotel right next to Manuel Antonio National Park.
Right on the beach and in close proximity to the park.
Very convenient location, just across the road from the beach, and only a 5min walk to the National Park entrance. Slightly noisy during the day because of the vendors that set up outside the hotel, but they at least play soothing music in the mornings!
It is about 15 min walk to the entrance of Manuel Antonio national park. We have awesome ocean view balcony. The staff were nice and there is free parking as well.
Staff is so polite and ready to help anytime.
We loved this hotel. It is right on the beach, has beautiful gardens, was perfectly clean, and has the best staff (so friendly and helpful). The beach is beautiful with white-headed capuchin monkeys everywhere. We had breakfast and dinner at their restaurant. The food was excellent and very affordable with the nicest staff. We had a guided tour at Manuel Antonio National Park. Although our guide picked us up, we were able to easily walk home from the park. The Park was also amazing - so many animals! (sloths, monkeys, iguanas, birds, etc.). I highly recommend this hotel!
Excellent location, very close to entrance to national park, and across from the beach (sea view room is definitely worth it). Good a/c and decent shower, but the property is a bit tired (especially bathroom could use an overhaul). Does not come with breakfast and the restaurant connected to the hotel is closed on Tuesdays. However, there is a supermarket and several restaurants within walking distance AND bus to Quepos comes by every 10-15 minutes.
Have a good and nice stay.
Close to beach and NP
Great location right across the street from the beach. The room was comfortable. The air conditioner worked well. Five minutes walk to entrance of Manuel Antonio Park.
The real only complaint was the amount of noise from the park late at night Not really the motels fault but they need to get some extra police to crack down on the loud speeding bikes and cars at night
Although the hotel and staff were lovely, there was no transportation to the airport as advertised. The shuttle service never replied to our request for transportation. Then we called a taxi and were quoted one price then haggled for more money once we got to the airport. The hotel should remove shuttle service from the list of amenities.
cockroach in the room
The pictures shown do not match with the actual room. Everything is old, worn out and outdated. it really requires A LOT of repair and renovation for it to look better. The hotel needs to be torn down and rebuilt. The garden outside looks very impressive but not the inside. The worst thing is we saw a big cockroach running in the room. We managed to kill it. when there is one cockroach in the room, it implies there can be more.
PERFECT location to beach and national park. Watched Beach sunset from our balcony. Only weird critique is that the towels were very old and thin, not sure why because everything else was fantastic!
Great location
Good location, a bit run down. Thin towels and sheets, but over all clean. Great front desk staff and very helpful. Loved being so close to the beach.
The staff were all so genuinely lovely! Helpful, kind, thoughtful. We have paid five times what their rates were and never enjoyed staff as pleasant as the staff at Manuel Antonio. Excellent experience.
This place is definitely a bit dated but it was clean, super convenient to Manuel Antonio and right across from the beach. It worked well for us!
Great people
Perfect place to stay while in Manuel Antonio. Right across from the beach, so you can just walk across with your car safely parked, and also less than a 5 minute walk to the National Park, which is super convenient too. The restaurant next door offers good food, but breakfast is not included, and they do not provide toiletries like the other hotels, that was one down side.
Perfect location and great stay.
Amazing location right next to the park and steps away from the beach. I can't believe they don't charge more. And staff was amazing.
Great location but low-end motel
This is a very basic, low-end hotel. Great location...right next to national park, easy walk to park, beach or restaurants. But very old and basic.
Not a bad choice for the price
Decent stay for one night
Safe parking The last hotel on the strip so more secluded and less busy Right on the beach You can ask the restaurant onsite for free water bottle refills Room was decent - dated furniture and sheets but does the trick for one night Bathroom needed a serious deep clean and upgrade Tv has English channels - you just need to know what button to press on the remote as there's Spanish/English versions for each channel They give out beach towels The hotel restaurant is very good but closes at 6pm Tip- when driving into Manuel Antonio and the security people stop you to ask to pay just say you stay at the hotel and you don't have to pay them
Do not pass up this hotel!
Excellent location! Easy, convenient and free parking. Restaurant is adjacent with excellent breakfast. Very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Easy access to National park and to free beach perfect for body surfing. Highly recommend and we hope to return!
Hotel Manuel Antonio is a very good place to stay if you are visting the park or if you want to go to the beach. We really loved the staff as well, who were nice and helpful.
The area is a walking distance from Manuel Antonio National Park, it was pleasantly clean and the staff was helpful.
This hotel states they have queen beds, however, that IS NOT TRUE. They 2 queen room is actually 2 double beds. If you are 5'10" or larger, this is awful. I called more than 48hrs ahead of my reservation, to confirm they had actual queens. The person i spoke with said "yes, our beds are queen size" then 10 minutes later, they texted back to inform me that "no, our beds are actually only doubles" I immediately asked for a cancelation and refund. And I had to scramble to find a new hotel with real queens. They only refunded 2 of the 3 days I had paid in full. They never responded to thecrequest from Expedia. I would have preferred to havecstayed at there hotel, but they did not provide the correct information in their ad on Expedia. This should not be allowed to occur. And Expedia should confirm the amenities of any business that lists with them. For fairness sake, I can't give a review to the cleanliness, or staff, as we didn't actually end up staying there.
Very old and aging motel. No English TV channels.
Outside was nice. Rooms need updating. Towels were hard because they line dry them and the bedding sheets were not soft either. Good if looking for close place to the beach and close stay to the park.
Wonderful staff. I would stay again for the beach and the national park. Great location. Nice large room and balcony (#20). Restaurant was great for breakfast. Local restaurants were very close by. Good meals and live music to be had.
Overall the stay was pleasent, everything is kept up very nicely. I would recommend Hotel Manuel for 1 maybe 2 nights, not having a refrigerator or coffee pot makes it a bit inconvenient. Bring a cooler if you would like to keep drinks or snaks on hand. They do have ice for free which is nice.
You can WALK to the national park from this hotel. Not fancy but clean and comfortable. Parking was easy.
very nice location. Room is big. 2 queen beds. No fridge in the room and very old
Great stay for the park & location 👍
Great location 👌 enjoyed our stay. The park was awesome and the beach in the park was the best beach to us. Also located not far from lots of great restaurants and bars.
Location is spot on, if you plan to visit the MA national park. This was the reason i book this hotel for the 2nd time. I booked through Expedia with 2 guests so when it came to check out they wanted to charge us more for having one addition guest. Stating it was showing only one on the reservation. Im not sure if this was a mistake from expedia or what happened. The AC was hit and miss didnt like that. Overall the stay was okay. I may consider other options next time i stay in Manuel Antonio.
We lived how close to the beach we were and the dining around us was amazing!
Great value for location and the convenience
The property is dated, but really well maintained. Best location for the beach. The restaurant was good. It was a lovely place to stay. A bit of noise from the seller next door, but only during the day. Very quiet at night.
Everything was good,no complaints. Coata Ricon people are the best.
😋
I am from Canada, and spent four nights and three days here in March 2023. I chose this hotel because of the price and location. It's right next to Manuel Antonio National Park and it's one of the few hotels that's right along the beach. The bus that goes from the beach to Quepos also stops right in front of the hotel so that is convenient for getting around, but it can also be noisy. The shower has great water pressure, but the rooms are dated. I was disappointed that there's absolutely nothing in the rooms either. No coffee maker or kettle to boil water or a fridge to store food if you don't feel like continually spending $15-20 USD on meals. It is basically empty, aside from two glasses. But you can grab ice and a bowl from the hotel lobby to keep drinks cool. There's a few overpriced restaurants in the area, but nothing for nightlife. Overall, this is not a fancy hotel, but the price is right for the location if you love the beach and national park.
Extremely friendly staff and very helpful
Staff is friendly and helpful. Very convenient location to the beach and to the park.
We had a great stay at this hotel. The room had a garden view, was very spacious, comfortable and clean. 1 minute walk from the less busy part of the beach and 10 minutes walk from the park. If you have booked an early tour at the national park, you can pre order breakfast at the restaurant . Although it was busy, serving time was spot on and as arranged. The gentleman serving breakfast is an absolute gem and does an extraordinary job at keeping up with the crowd. Would definitely come back.
Perfect location, but firm beds and just a place to sleep. Worth it for the price
We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is pretty basic and not very modern, but it is always clean and outside areas are very well kept. Beds are comfortable and the location is excellent.
Good wish they offered breakfast
So convenient!!
Traveling with a friend Jan 2023, loved the staff! Very helpful, ice on site, foot wash and outside shower for after-beach rinse. Beautiful view on the beach side. Steps to Manuel Antonio park, beach, souvenir shopping, multiple restaurants. Restaurant on site was convenient and good food with very kind wait staff! Rooms had good AC and were spacious, basic, but comfortable and at excellent price. Friday and Saturday a little noisy at night from beach goers partying. Other nights quiet.
Loved the location- overlooking beach and bustling street. Did not mind buses and ‘action’ of the area- its right where we wanted to be. Very pleasant and accommodating staff! Great place! Will return.
Always beautiful place
Good.
Convenient to the park and beach. Hotel provides beach towels which is great.
Easy access to beach bus and restaurants! So beautiful and perfect corner hotel!
The staff is wonderful, especially Genaferd. RIght across the street from an amazing beach. Lots of restaurants in walking distance.
Nice place to stay.
This may sound petty, but the bath towels are soooo bad- like sand paper. That being said, the room was fine. I appreciated the ceiling fan. It kept the room cool. The location is perfect on the beach and you are steps away from the entrance to MA national park.
Great Location
The place is great.i loved it .perfect location.rite next to the national park.though there was issues with my booking .was fixed somewhat.also there was a problem there was a weird insect spray like odor.had to keep the glass door opened.i will stay again for shure!
They gave to me different room from my reservation. I booked with ocean view, they gave me normal basic room. The room have MOLD!!!
Staff super friendly. Location at end of road across from beach was best thing about the property.
The location was perfect! Staff was very helpful and welcoming
.
The hotel was close to the beach, although we would hear a dog barking every night and you couldn't see the ocean from majority of the rooms. The area behind the rooms had vendor's who would play very loud and noisy music
The only thing was hotel is a bit older and things like broken windows not fixed and kept the air condition cool out of the room. Other than that staff was great and helpful, breakfast at the restaurant delicious. Close to the beach and park entrance.
Great for visit manuel antonio park
Restraurant staff was great! Great location. Lacking on amenities.
closeness to the beach, no coffee machine in the room.
Great location
Decent hotel nothing fancy. It’s too bad there aren’t mini fridges and a coffee machine, but we didn’t spend too much time in the room anyway. Lovely staff. Great location by the beach.
Good stay and cleanliness however there were a lot of gnats/bugs/mosquitoes inside the room. The shower didn’t have water for half of my shower one day.
It was great!! Tried to book another night but no luck
Very clean and conveniently located. Backs up to walking path to the park where vendors are located. They are very loud playing music and making noise to bring attention to themselves. You can hear it pretty loudly in the room. One of the tapes had clapping and crowd notices and first day I thought there was an audience. Lol perhaps it is better in the other areas but most rooms back up to that area. The beds were the hardest I have ever slept in and extremely un comfortable. Even after long day in the park difficult to sleep.
This property is located right on the beach and is a 5 minute walk to the Manuel Antonio National Park. The rooms are a good size and there are plenty of open spaces in the hotel. I was very happy with ny stay.
Exactly what I needed and expected from a beach front property. Check-in was a breeze and the room was clean and comfortable. I will definitely try to come back and for longer.
Perfect location
A bit outdated but still neat conditions. Amazing location to beach and national park but was a long drive with lots of traffic.
