No hot water for days. Staff lied to me many times that it would be fixed. Horrible experience. Don’t stay here

I stayed in a hotel right across the street from Hotel Madeiro in August 2024, and it was a lovely experience. The Poblado neighborhood in Medellin is fancy, pretty, and it's where all the tourists like to stay. It's upscale. I assumed a hotel directly across the street would be the same. In December 2024, I stayed at Hotel Madeiro. No one at the front desk spoke English. They would never answer the phone. I reserved a car to pick me up from the airport a week in advance. They never answered the phone when I was ready to be picked up from the airport. They didn't even respond to my texts. Because of that, I had to pay an additional $20,000 Colombian Pesos to get to the hotel. I was livid. When I got to the hotel, they didn't care, Because no one spoke English, trying to convey what happened was excrutiating. I DO NOT recommend staying there. Most of the rooms don't have windows. The carpet was dirty. The rooms felt damp. I tried to save money & I was burned.

Lack of water pressure couldn't wash the soap off. Small room. Nobody speaks english although its a tourist area. Breakfast ladies were great. Nice breakfast with good view.

The hotel was in a great area for everything. The staff was very accommodating.

The property was exactly described and we felt safe and comfortable in the hotel. It was a bit loud though however maybe it’s because of what room we’re in or that were on the first floor and you’re the elevator and the lobby.

Fernando the concierge at night was very sweet and helpful anytime during his working hours, he’ll respond to the might night calls very quick!

My only complaint is the noise at night

The only concern I have is that a bottle of 600ml water cost $30,000 COP (~$12 CAD)!!! That was what the front desk told me. I asked for a price list of the items in the mini fridge and they couldn’t find one (charge whatever you can policy?). Other than that, breakfast was good (included) and the area is within walking distance to the poblado park which is a pick up place for some tours.

AC on Room 201 wasn't working properly. AC would work on Fan but not on Cool. We stayed 3 nights and problem was never addressed. We asked to be moved to another room, and were told that hotel was at capacity. Bathroom Drainage made the bathroom stink like urine. Problem wasn't addressed either. Hotel location is perfect! There was music all over the block but we were never bothered about it. Closing the window solved that. Sebastian ( Front Desk ) Agent was really nice and helpful.

el aire acondicionado tenia un silbido muy estridente, tuve que dormir con tapones de oido, no tenia toallas, al otro dia me toco secarme con la que ponen en el piso 😂 queria llamar a pedir toallas pero el telefono estaba desconectado y lo iba a conectar y la toma del telefono estaba vacia, era un hueco no se podia conectar, el cuarto no tenia ventanas y olia a pintura, las almohadas mas duras que el corazon de ella, no habia nada en el mini bar, si DIOS quiere nunca me vuelvo a quedar en este Hotel, he estado en muchos hoteles y este se lleva el galardon al peor hotel de la historia, y por lo que ofrecen, re costoso. pero bueno, ojala esto les sirva para mejorar

Reservation was not available as they decided to sell my room to another passenger. Claimed that was an emergency with water pipe but this was not the case as per a hotel worker. Tried to send me to a 2 star hotel.

This hotel is fantastic, nice, clean and good Wifi.. The location is great. The staff are wonderful, always willing to help, and most of them can speak English which made it easier to communicate. I will stay here again.

Never Again

From beginning to end it was terrible. I was at the end accused of smoking in the room and i was not. Charged for a razor that i did not use.

Property was modern with a beautiful bathroom, a very delicious breakfast the staff was very friendly and the hot tub relaxing.

Nice medium size hotel

This was a good stay. We got a room with a jacuzzi and it was such a nice treat. The front desk guys are very friendly and nice and happy to help. Breakfast was good, there are table upstairs so if your room is small you can go there to work a bit. Internet was great. The location here is absolutely fantastic. Across the street is the best pizza, plenty of bars and other restaurants nearby. I would definitely stay again.

The hotel was in a good location and front desk staff were pleasant. Breakfast was good, unfortunately the noisy neighborhood made it a challenge to sleep. A couple nights is fine but we were planning a week long stay, had to move out after a few nights.

Hotel is well located with so much close to it. Hotel needs lots of maintenance since we had a problem in the first room given where the toilet was clogged then we received a second room there the lights turned on/off every 5 minutes and the water handle in the shower was loose and hard to adjust the water temperature. It did not bother me but if you do not like noise, this might not be for you. Other than that the staff was friendly and it is a good hotel for the price

Excelente Hotel! Esta a 2 Bloques del Parque Lleras. Muy limpio y moderno.

My room had no windows and smaller than the pictures looked. But not having a window makes it feel even smaller. What was more frustrating, was that you are not allowed to have more than one guest in your room at a time. And that guest MUST present their ID at reception or they will not be allowed up to your room. Makes it hard to have any time of meeting or get together if you're only allowed one guest in your room. If you want additional guests you must pay roughly $20 per person extra. Next thing they did wrong was I asked reception to extend my stay 2 extra nights, but when I confirmed this the next day with a different person at the reception desk they only extended 1 one day extra and 2 two days extra as the previous agent had confirmed. So had to move hotels for the last night. I would NOT return to this hotel. There is only 1 desk agent and 1 cleaning person on duty. Do not expect any addition services.

Good location close to many restaurants

Hay muchas cosas que pueden mejorar. El ascensor está en reparación y el desayuno es en el piso 6. El secador de cabello en mi habitación estaba dañado. Conversé con la administradora de estos temas y fue amable y me ofreció una cortesía.

Noisy

Very noisy. You can hear everything in the hallways and housekeeping moving furniture around in other rooms. Housekeeping beat on the door when I was sleeping. They also called early in the morning when I was sleeping and said they had a repair person that needed in to fix the air conditioning not my room. The air conditioner was fine and I did not request that. The magnetic key lock stopped working.

The Hotel is good and it’s guest friendly but they should have a more informed front desk staff.

It is a modern boutique hotel in a great lush location. My room had an inside window and a small bathroom. There are many nice new restaurants and cafes nearby. parque Lleras is a few blocs away. Personal is attentive and helpfull. I am happy with my stay

I enjoyed my stay at Madeiro. Inside window may bring some noise for a light sleeper. Price was great. Location is near modern restaurants, in a jungle fancy set. 3 blocs from parque Lleras

Not Tourist Friendly In a Tourist Area

Before checkin, Hotels.com tried to call them to update our booking. They did not answer, so the representative had to call them back. The representative said they said a manager would need to make the update. That was untrue. We checked in and it was updated by the agent. They refused to give us a second key (for a double room with 2 guests). They told us to come when a manager was there. A friend had to request one again in a more aggressive way using Google translate. You need a roomkey to turn in the power in your room so that's highly inconvenient and inconsiderate. The jacuzzi does not heat up and no one ever uses it, nor the sauna. We wanted some folks to visit us in our room, but the front desk would not allow them upstairs. I will not return. Overall, if you are an older couple this place may work. It was quiet overall.

A basic hotel but with jacuzzis

Madeiro does not quite fulfill its apparent ambitions of cool boutique hotel. To start with, amenities are basic and most rooms have no windows! Only the rooms on the front do, and have a huge jacuzzi tub by it. The jacuzzi does not leave much space for anything else (our bathroom was tiny) but if you are into jacuzzi, go for it. Also because the location is the best in town. Breakfast is basic to say the least.
