Absolutely beautiful property. Had a cabin with living room and large bedroom. Fridge was greatly appreciated. LOVED the pools. Used the shuttles constantly. Good food at decent prices.
We were really impressed with the overall property grounds and thermal baths, the website did not do it justice. The transportation service to get around on the resort between our room and the public areas was really good and fast. The only area which requires improvement is the buffet, not many options and even worse for people like me with dietary requirements. Henry our waiter for dinner was really nice and gave extra attention. The thermal baths are very clean and have many of them with various temperature settings; could benefit for more seating options in them and around the pools. Food prices were fair for a hotel of this quality. An upgrade to the safe with key pad versus key would also be good. We would definitely reference this resort.
A wonderful relaxing stay. Loved the quiet and peaceful setting
Los Lagos was a perfect place to enjoy the beauty of Costa Rica. The hot springs were very nice and after a full day out they provided a lot of relaxation. The rooms were nice but not quiet in the morning. The staff was very accomodating.
Highly recommend Los Lagos
Los Lagos Hotel is beautiful, clean, and perfect for our family. They have pools everywhere, and we mostly hung out in the large hot spring pool with a swim-up bar and drank the virgin pina coladas that they serve in real pineapples! The staff is very friendly and helpful, including the restaurant staff, the cleaning crew, and the front desk. The breakfast is a buffet full of healthy, delicious variety. The gift shop is great. We were in downpour for 2 days, and ended up just hanging out in the warm pools. One night when my daughter and husband decided to stay in the room for the evening, I spent an hour in the original hot spring on a built-in lounge chair with jets.
Gorgeous property, loved it. The rooms are fine, nothing amazing but clean and comfortable. The food is the same. The property itself and the staff is what really makes this location- it's beautiful with multiple springs / pools and everyone is kind.
Affordable luxury. The hot springs were well-maintained and uncrowded—there were plenty of empty pools to choose from. The food was authentically Costa Rican, farm fresh, and inexpensive. We felt safe allowing teenage daughters to roam unsupervised. Rooms were clean and spacious.
Beautiful and so accommodating! Highly recommend! The baths are amazing and so is the food.
Lush village atmosphere. Construction outside our room. Noisy at 7am on a Saturday. Clean room but nothing special. Thermal tubs were nice. So many!!!
Great hotel room, hot springs, breakfast.
From the time we checked in until we checked out, A1 service. All staff were pleasant and attentive. We received great service and great drinks at the bar. The amenities are amazing! This is the Disney of La Fortuna. A family of 4 with kids ages 9 and 13, everyone was able to find something to do. The kids couldn’t stay off the slides and the adults couldn’t stay out of the hot springs! The breakfast was great each day. The food at the wet bar was just as good. You can get a little Costa Rican flare or you can have simple foods for the picky eaters. All around amazing and wasn’t ready to leave!
Property is beyond gorgeous and staff are extremely friendly and ready to assist in any way, shape, or form. Had a fantastic time!
Beautiful room. Wonderful pools. Good food. Nice people. Excellent location. Beautiful scenery.
We have stayed at Los Lagos before and the property and customer service has taken a drastic turn for the worse. On the plus side, the pool facilities are nice but try to enjoy them before the $18 day trippers arrive and overcrowd the facilities. We paid for an upgraded room but did not receive one. In fact, it was a new room that was still not quite ready. No room safe, sliding door not secure and most importantly an AC unit that was faulty and required us to wait for upwards of 3 hours for maint many times. They eventually allowed us to have the room we paid for our final night but we had to move all of our stuff in the pouring rain. They were rude and unapologetic like it was our fault. Additionally, there was construction right next door. It seems that we were punished and treated poorly because we booked through Expedia as opposed directly with the hotel. On several instances when we asked for the room we paid for, the desk staff commented on how we booked through Expedia. I would recommend staying somewhere else as there are lots of other options in the area.
We enjoyed our stay! The resort is nestled in the rainforest with beautiful surroundings in every direction, they hit spring pools were relaxing.
Very nice spacious room close to amenities. Heated thermal spas for relaxing after long day of hikes. Breakfast layout is incredible and staff was very friendly.
Beautiful resort with fantastic pools and hot springs. The grounds were kept immaculate and the front desk was always very helpful. We found food and drink pricing reasonable, however we found food at the main restaurant not great (aside from the breakfast buffet which was good). We enjoyed the food at the pool bar much better. Rooms were very spacious and clean. We did find that the walls were very thin and we could hear our neighbors quite a bit ( as small of a sound as a sneeze or conversation could all be heard). This made it challenging to sleep on some days depending on how active our neighbours were. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and enjoyed the springs.
Good and clean room, reasonably priced restaurant (though very average food). Loved the natural pools, particularly when they were less crowded in the evening and morning.
It was very nice. I wish the breakfast was a little better.
Beautiful property, amazing staff.
Beautiful place
Great property!! My young adult kids and I enjoyed the variety of pools and waterslide. Quick taxi ride from town. Overall great place to stay and would stay there again.
Good not great. Could use a facelift.
Nice grounds and pools. Large rooms but somewhat stark. All tile floors. Smelled like cleaning products. Cabinets were rickety. Seems like built in the 70s and never upgraded. Could hear people easily in adjacent rooms and our neighbors below complained to us that we sounded like construction workers through their ceiling. Restaurant was reasonable with good food.
This is wonderful!!
Great hotel. Clean. The natural spring water does not taste salty at all, which is weird and suspicious. There are two areas with views. I wish they had some trails at the lake area
The kids had a blast. Beautiful view of the Arenal volcano, the pools are amazing.
Great location with Arenal views. Room was large and well equipped, with daily cleaning. Facilities are amazing and well worth the price. I would come back to this resort.
Excellent place!
Beautiful property and great service. Did not receive any vip perks mentioned
So many pools to choose from! And the swim up bar was very nice
Can hear the people next door loud and clear, phone didn’t work. I had to spend $10 on international call to call front desk multiple times. The rooms are very far from pools so there is a shuttle provided. With phone not working, it was challenging to get shuttle. Our key cards didn’t work either and we spent time waiting to get that fixed.
We liked the waterways and the natural springs. The hotel is what it is with regard to the design and layout. It's fairly outdated and inconvenient to have to wait for shuttles to pick you up and drop you off at various areas of interest across the property. The level of service and cleanliness is not adequate though. Only stayed there for one night but that was long enough to experience long delays when it comes to shuttle service and for the washrooms to stop working completely. My family wanted to use the washrooms when leaving the pool/springs area and the washrooms in multiple locations had the water turned off. You can only imagine what the toilets looked like with people unable to flush for hours. And when I brought this up, they were aware of the problem but no solution was given. The staff themselves seem nice with warm smiles but a note to management. Please give the employees the tools they need to make the customers stay more comfortable. For instance many times we asked for a slight alteration to how the eggs were prepared, or if we wanted a specific item with room service, we were politely told it was not possible. If travelling on the cheap and your expectations are very low I would say you may not notice these shortcomings but if you value, well value... Stay somewhere else.
Wonderful stay. We love this place and have been multiple times. We will definitely come back over and over again. Honorable shoutout to Johan for squeezing us with the last minute booking at the Christmas Dinner Service!
Overall, it is a large resort with beautiful grounds. But the rooms were VERY dated and in our opinion gross. Our room was musty smelling, unwelcoming and uncomfortable. We checked out a day early and ended up booking an extra day at the resort we had planned to go to second. The breakfast was decent for being included, lunch/dinner restaurant was not good at all for the price. The bar food was great and the service there was wonderful. I booked this resort with lower expectations as I was booking “budget” as we had lots of excursions planned during the day and really wanted this to just sleep. We dreaded coming back here after our long day of excursions and in the future would pay more to stay at a place with rooms that didn’t smell, were comfortable and clean. When we checked out the receptionist said “you are checking out a day early” and my husband said “yes, we are unhappy. The room was gross and smelled” and he just replied “okay”. La Fortuna was a great and wonderful experience but we would definitely stay elsewhere next time!
We had a wonderful time at this property. It's maintained perfectly and the views are gorgeous from the rooms. The breakfast was such a treat everyday. The hotsprings were a cherry on the top. We loved every bit of it.
Adjoining rooms have horrible insulation. You can hear every conversation in the room next door. This property also needs a laundromat.
We enjoyed our stay at Los Lagos. The location wasn’t too far away from town and other activities. The pools were the highlight of our trip. The staff were friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.
It's a wonderful resort with so much to do throughout the day, it's also great for kids.
Good
Very nice place place great breakfast
Nice
Nice resort, friendly/helpful staff, nice pools. My room was a good size with minimal furniture (could have used a chair). The property is very large and spread out. There is a shuttle that gets u to/from room. Know that this resort is a bit out of town, but fortunately Uber is super reasonable here. I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again.
Staff friendly. Let us keep our luggage in a locked area so we could still do things after we checked out and were waiting for our next town adventure and stay. That was wonderful!
Excellent resort and very affordable. We had no issues with our stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast buffet had a huge spread. Great resort!!!
I would highly recommend this property. I came on a girl's trip for 6 days. There are several thermal pools that are heated to a range of different temperatures so you can find what works for you. There are also natural pools with slides and the place seems quite family friendly as well. Breakfast is included and it was great. Lunch and dinner were pretty good too, but we enjoyed catching a cab into town to the different restaurants. Food options downtown were great! Excursions were also easy to book from the hotel. Staff were all very friendly. I would absolutely stay here again and bring my family next time.
Beautiful place
Beautiful, well kept grounds.
Great Resort Hotel
Amazing stay here. Grounds are beautiful Hot springs great. Really convenient having tours available on site. Ziplining was good very attentive staff supervision.
Beautiful area, great for kids.
Beautiful
Beautiful place... The view from our room was amazing..
Hotel Los Lagos Spa and Resort is a beautiful place to stay. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The hot springs pools on the resort were amazing. Highly recommend stay at this hotel!
Have trouble when check-in . I ordered on Expedia room for 2 adults and 1 one kid, but I check-in they said that I ordered 2 adult and one infant, and charged me extra $37.
Such a beautiful property. The lush gardens, amazing pool area and excellent food made for a great stay. I would highly recommend.
Very clean , very modern, food delicious, everything well balanced, hot springs are amazing!!!!! Staff friendly, vibrant vibes ♥️
Beautiful.
Amazing hotel and amazing location. We will be back.
Five STAR resort.
This Resort was breathtaking and so clean. All of the hot springs were pristine. Our family of 6 loved it here. The grounds and the viewing are of the volcano are a must see, take the drive to the top of the mountain. The breakfast was our favorite part of the day!! Thank you!!!!
Piece of Heaven on Warth :)
We had an amazing stay. The Hotel is located in fabulous location and the landscaping is out of this world! We loved everything about our stay.
Los Lagos was a wonderful property! The grounds were well maintained, there were so many different hot spring pools- we loved trying all of them! Both restaurants were excellent! The property is huge, but shuttles were available.
Perfect place in La Fortuna
Room was big and spacious and the hot springs were steps away. Cutest animals awaited us on our bed made From towels and flowers from the garden. Had an amazing 50th birthday with my best friends. The bar tenders were fabulous at the swim up hot springs bar.
The staff here was so kind and supportive especially since we had a problem with our room lock and they transferred us to an even better room for no additional fee within minutes. And they also gave us a free dinner so we were super super happy and it’s a beautiful resort.!
Very beautiful resort with several pools. Easy to navigate and we loved it!
Los Lagos is an incredibly beautiful property!
Perfect Tropical Escape
Four night family escape. Wife loved their hot spring kids loved their slides and dad enjoyed the silence for himself 🙏😎
The hotel is well located. Area is beautiful and well maintained. Pools are amazing. Pool bar is exceptionnal. Maybe more attention on the rooms...small renewals could improve our general feedback (no water at a moment, bath in bad shape). Staff is exceptionnal.
This resort had everything and more I could have asked for. Excellent food and drinks as well as an amazing hot springs area. Would love to be back
This magnificent property offered a pristine tropical environment, paired with a professional, kind staff to support your every need an want. Would definitely recommend this resort if you are looking for beauty, cleanliness, tranquility and professionalism. Close to all.
EVERYTHING AMAZING
Wonderful place!!! Beautiful Volcano views and grounds are so colorful and immaculate!! Great service. Buffet breakfast was amazing and included. Loved restaurant, every dish was delicious. Didnt even bother wandering out of resort to each. VERY REASONABLE prices on food and drinks! Try a Monkey Business drink!!! Only $6
This hotel is BEAUTIFUL! Even more so than the photos. I wish we could have stayed longer. So many hot springs all of different temperatures and a beautiful regular pool. The swim up bar is amazing, especially at night! Highly recommend. The only thing that let this hotel down was the breakfast selection. I thought the selection (even for meat eaters) wasn’t great. My family are vegan so we were even more restricted. There was mo vegan butter/margarine for the toast and not even a vegan milk alternative. After a few times of asking we were brought some coconut milk but it was far too sweet for cereal. I did ask if they would be so kind as to make us some vegan pancakes but that was not possible either. It was disappointing as I had let the hotel know ahead of time but we still ended up with just dry toast and fruit however the rest of the hotel is so gorgeous it would not put me off booking again
Swimming areas
Very good location, like the hot springs, nice view and very cool landscaping
Wonderful beautiful relaxing property
This property was stunning, I love the hike we could do to see the volcano! The food was fantastic! The staff was just the best! Thanks for making it great!
Went for my birthday the property was clean. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The shuttles were a plus and the volcano on a clear sky was beautiful to see from my room. Breakfast was great no complaints what so ever, I will be coming again :)
I can’t say enough about this property. It was beautiful. The hot springs hit the spot after a long day exploring and hiking. The staff was helpful and friendly. Transportation to excursions was easy and convenient. Breakfast was amazing. When we come back to Costa Rica, we will be staying here again.
The property is nice, food is good but more flavorful on certain days assuming it’s dependent who the chef is that day. Front office is friendly and accommodating. My only problem was we had to call about 5x before our mini fridge was fixed and I paid for the upgraded room and still did not have a view of the volcano.
We loved the thermal pools. A variety to choose from. Easily accessible. Also some wildlife in the area .
Property overall is great for families with kids middle school and above. The pools are amazing and you don’t need to go to any other springs. The activities on site are great. We loved the horseback riding and the spa - top quality. The restaurant was great for breakfast which was included and we had a late night dinner there a few times which was very good and well priced. They are in the perfect location to hiking, town and all outside activities as well. Our only complaint was that 2 weeks prior we needed to reduce a night and they weren’t flexible. Otherwise we would recommend.
Hot springs worth the stay!!
It is a beautiful resort at the foot of volcán Arsenal. Although the lobby and receptionist lacked a welcoming feeling, all other resort staff were very kind and service oriented. The room was very spacious and clean with large tile flooring. There layout of the many thermal spring and regular pools is beautiful, and although expansive, you feel like you’re in your own oasis. Incredibly smart layout. Although we just relaxed and did sightseeing in our short two day stay, their are many adventures on property and nearby.
Fantastic choice!! The staff were so friendly and helpful. I am gluten free and they assisted me with determining what I could eat on the breakfast buffet and made me gluten free pancakes every morning. I also left my key in my room once and staff were there in less than a minute to let me back in. I highly recommend a spa treatment - the hot stone massage was one of the highlights of my trip! The property is gorgeous with beautiful flora and fauna, not the mention the abundance of hot springs. Others bought day passes and booked tours just to visit the hot springs at Los Lagos! My room was close to the entrance so I never used the shuttle service on the grounds but it seemed easy enough. Ubers were always near and local tours picked up and dropped off at the hotel. Only complaint: the area around the rooms were a bit echoey and you could hear noise/talking from neighboring rooms, less than in a traditional hotel hallway structure though.
This resort exceeded our expectations. I would personally give it 5 stars. Hotel: We had a private villa. Clean and beautiful. Our view of the volcano was spectacular. Perfect size for our family of four. Food: There is something for everyone. Fresh buffet breakfast at its main restaurant. From the dinner menu i highly recommend the Casado with chicken or fish. Absolutely fantastic and beautifully presented. The wet bar restaurant has all your pub food favs. Burgers, pizza, chicken fingers, fries. The pizza can be made to order fresh out of a stone oven. Everything was reasonably priced and worth it. We are not drinkers, however the mocktails were beautiful and delicious. Yum! Resort: Every area of this resort is well maintained. Its absolutely breathtaking. From the volcano view to the gardens and pool. Some villas are located up the mountain, a shutlle service was always available. New air conditioned mini buses. The cold pools and thermal pools are stunning, located in the center of the resort. Easy access to reception, restaurant, souvenir shop, towel exchange and change rooms. Pools: There are 2 waterslides, one for children under 10. Hot springs: Each one has a different warmth temperature. So soothing and relaxing. Spa: Mesmerizing. A massge while listening to nature and feeling the breeze was incredible. Staff: Were pleasant, friendly and always willing to assist. Just wonderful people. Overall: We would return every year! By far the best resort we been.
Enjoyed the stay, hotel is good, clean, in good shape and the view of the volcano is hard to beat. The fact that the hotel has its own thermal pools is a great plus. Reception staff was kind, but they could do a much much better job at highlighting all that there is to do inside the hotel. A pity they didn’t.
This place has beautiful grounds great views, volcano view from your balcony. So many hot springs to chose from Such a gem definitely returning soon
Beautiful property with a direct view to the Arenal Volcano and the thermal spas were amazing with around 8 different thermal areas to use.
Very nice!
It’s a beautiful property externally. The greenery, the view and landscape is gorgeous. The rooms need some upgrading. It’s very old fashioned. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hot springs were wonderful. It was a great stay. Thank you.
This property exceeded my expectations. Staff was kind and very accommodating. The souvenir shop had the best stuff plus the means were delicious.
great resort very close to many restaurants and plenty to do around!
Good stay, clean, nice staff. Hot springs available even with rain and nice covered areas to enjoy! Breakfast was delicious. Easy check-in / check-out
Such a great place for families!
Liked everything. Hot springs, pools landscaping, room, staff, scenery including Areal mountain. Transportation. Not enough lounge chairs at pool.
We had a great time. We wish we had stayed longer!
We loved the property, beautiful and spacious with so much to see. I would recommend to anyone looking in the area.
This property was beautiful, staff was friendly and it wasn't crowded, i was able to always have my own hot spings pool . What would make this property a 10/10 opposed to a 8/10 is if it was all inclusive, and i didn't have to feel like everytime i ordered something i need to pull out money.
The pools and hot springs were phenomenal! The setting is amazing- great views of the volcano! And so close to La Fortuna and all the amenities and excursions in the area! I will definitely be back!
We loved our stay at Los Lagos. Great staff and the views are amazing. Highly recommended.
We love the quiet, relaxing and clean atmosphere. We enjoyed nature and we definitely would recommend. We go every year and have not been disappointed.
Excellent service! Johnny in the bar area is the best one! Good Food and good service. Everyone treats you very kindly. Pura Vida
Nice facility and delicious breakfast.
The resort was beautiful! Everything was perfect!
Beautiful place, very clean and outstanding customer service.

Spectacular views Property is well maintained. Staff is extremely friendly and courteous. Breakfast buffet was dynamite Hot Springs some of the best I’ve ever soaked in landscaping around the Hot Springs is unsurpassed.
