Excellent location
A nice centrally located hotel with friendly staff. Must be able to do stairs however.
Great location. Best thing about it! Decor could do with an upgrade. Plumbing not the best but is a very old building. Staff very helpful and lovely.
We had an excellent stay (our second). We had a room with two queen beds. One was too firm but that is our only complaint. A lovely, quaint, old hotel. It only has a dozen or so rooms (spread across three floors). We only paid $125, which is cheap for Old Quebec. Our view was great. Hotel was quiet and everything worked great. Parking was a one-minute walk away. Highly recommend this hotel.
Expensive for poor services
Very busy street. Hotel entrance thru the gift shop. The shower temperature was sometimes uncontrollable. Room was well furnished but mattress caved a bit at middle. Stairway up requires agility.
Friendly welcome upon arrival, stowing our luggage until check in time. Offered directions to good places to eat and tour. Made our reservation for taxi to airport on day of departure.
Clean, quiet place. Definitely old but still a nice and clean
Great location. Room was OK, good for the price.
A five-star location with two star accommodations. The location in the old city of Quebec was fantastic. Easy access to all the sites, restaurants, and shops. The downside is the building and the rooms itself. The building is very old which is expected however it is not well-kept. My room was a mix and match of old Furnishings tossed into a room with a refrigerator and a sink in the room. My room did not have a private bathroom I had to go down the hallway to use the private bathroom. This would not be a problem however the private bathroom itself was not very pleasant. With with some investment and time this could be a wonderful property but right now it's a bit of a shambles in a fantastic location.
This was a nice little hotel, it's an old building in historic old Quebec city the furnishings reflect that. Parking was a bit annoying, but once parked it was fine, there is underground parking a block over, but you need a card from the front desk to access it. It's best to just park with your 4 ways on infront of the hotel and check in quick then go park.
In the heart of Old Quebec :)
Great location, attractions nearby
Fabulous location. Not great having to walk up 2 narrow flights of stairs with our luggage. Room faced the street which was noise til around 11pm and the again in the morning.
Excellent location, short walk to Frontenac, Citadel, and shopping.
Older property in the heart of old town Quebec City. A bit funky, but well priced. Not for the Chateau Frontenac crowd.
Location was great but beds were very uncomfortable and everything was original and didn’t seem unkept properly.
Property is old but the location is really convenient for walking around.
Location is great, close to everything. Room was spacious but the shower is inside the room. Old building with some charm
Cute little place. To have parking within the walls is a bonus, even at $17/day
The place was lovely
The hotel is in a perfect location. Parking was close by so we were able to park our car easily and leave it for our time there. Lyne was very friendly and helpful when we arrived and during our stay. The room was really great. Recommend staying there when visiting Old Quebec City!
Poor condition and it is not a real hotel
It’s an old property without the usual amenities of a typical hotel. But, the staff are very nice and helpful. Thanks Lyne for the hospitality. The property is in downtown and all the places of interest are at walkable distance.
The bath was located remote from the sleeping room, which was fine, not an issue for us. The shower temperature controls were tricky, you need to be able to move quickly as the water will change to cold or scalding quickly. I would not send kids into the shower unsupervised. Staff was awesome!!!
Practically gotta hitchhike to the bathroom…
Other than the sporadic air conditioner and the bathroom being down the hall, it was fair
Great 😊
Enjoyed our stay
They kept our bag for us even after check out.
This place is not a hotel. It’s a convince store/ gift shop with a couple small rooms. My room was in the attic, of the three story, run down building. They couldn’t provide me with the room I reserved because the AC was not working. Had to park about 4 blocks away. Super small room, no chairs, no window. We left after the first night and got a full refund for the second night. I would not recommend.
Hôtel vieillot, peinture écaillée, fenêtres qui tiennent avec des petits bouts de cartons, literie vieille. Une énorme déception aucun rapport avec les photos...on a payé +300$ pour une chambre qui ne vallait pas 100$. À fuir.
A cozy apartment in the heart of Old Quebec. Great location that is close to shops, restaurants, and the port. The apartment itself was clean and check in process was smooth during business hours. Parking is $17/day at a closely located garage, although there is only one exit (no re-entry, otherwise you have to pay again). Overall, it is a good affordable option for a stay in Old Quebec.
A1
wwwwwwww
I saw a pair of feet print on the mirror and a booger on my sink. The walls has dust and
Location, location, location! Fabulous spot. Walking distance to restaurants and sightseeing attractions in core of Old Quebec City. Stayed in Queen suite (2 Queen beds). Spacious and very comfortable. Hotel reception in gift shop below hotel rooms. Friendly, helpful reception staff.
Very central location!
I enjoyed my stay in this hotel, the room was small and they didnt have a lot of facilities. The location was perfect and staff were freindly. I recommend this to poeple how want to spend most of their time outdoor and want to have a sleep and rest in the hotel.
Quebec City experience!
Easy checkin, excellent service and friendly
great stay thank you
We are happy we booked this botique hotel. It gave us a one of a kind experience in Old Quebec. It is walkable to historic and good restaurants and the historic Chateau Frontenac as well as the Christmas Village!. Thank you to Lyne who is very accommodating.
As expected, small clean room. In a great area. Staff was friendly and helpful.
It's great to be in the heart of it all. Everything we like to see is within walking distance. The hotel is old and I knew that going in. It could use a few updates but it was very clean.
Very nice stay at Le Cavalier du Moulin and the location is ideal for walking around Old Quebec City. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Close to grocery store and restaurants and parking was nearby.
The bed was not very comfortable. The location of the hotel was great. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Great location. Very helpful reception. 52 steps up to the room, the last flight without a hand rail. #29 is a very small room with no chair or space to place your luggage. Dripping tap, rocking toilet, wheezing HVAC, good shower with plenty of hot water.
Simple, cute, accommodation in perfect location!
The lady who checked us in made us feel appreciated and welcome. The location was great. Lots of choices as far as dining and upscale bars close by. A beautiful historic building and street.
An easy and convenient place to stay in the old city!
Extremely friendly and welcoming, great location close to shops, restaurants and cruise terminal
Very historic
Location, comfortable bed, quiet, cleanliness
I
This hotel was perfect for walking around the old part of Quebec City. We walked everywhere! Parking was available at a parking garage close by. The building is old and the rooms dated, but that was expected since it is located in the old part of the city. The lack of an elevator and the steep, stairs makes it difficult for anyone with mobility issues.
Property was easy to walk to everything and return with not much effort. Property needs to be updated and room was very small.
Very friendly hosts.
The hotel is quirky but clean and in a great area of town. It has stairs only and they are a bit terrifying. The staff was Sooo nice. I would recommend but keep the stairs in mind.
Place was cute and authentic a little rundown but was expected for the year of the building. Too much $$$$ for what we got . The staff was amazing and helpful thought so made up for it ♥️
The location of this hotel is awesome! Park your car in the parking garage and leave it there until you leave. The sites, shopping. Restaurants are all within walking distance. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a modern hotel this is not it. But if you want a place that is clean with basic amenities in a great location, this is it! Be advised that There is no elevator and you will have to climb stairs that are a bit narrow and tend to lean a bit.
The location in old Quebec is excellent! We parked our car at a pay lot 2 blocks away and walked all over the old town. Our room with 2 beds had one of the beds upstairs and the other bed and bathroom downstairs. The restaurant next door was pretty noisy throwing trash in their dumpster below our window. I would recommend this hotel based on price and location.
Nice people at service desk. Parking accross street but entrance to parking from next street
Very old building
We loved the location and the friendliness of the staff. We would definitely go back.
Convenient location and very pleasant staff
The hotel is in an excellent location to explore the old city of Quebec
Great location, but not luxurious...
Positives: This hotel is in an excellent location! It has easy walking access to both upper and lower old Quebec. The staff was friendly and helpful. Negatives: We were on the third floor. Navigating three narrow flights of stairs with luggage was brutal!! (They did warn us that there was no elevator!) The building is 175 years old, so things are quirky and worn, but the location almost made up for the negatives. Although I dont think I would book there again.
Quaint place right in the heart of old city on the road leading to Chateau Frontenac! Not for handicap or challenged folks as stairs(no elevator) are tight and winding. Walk to everything.
Really convenient location. Staff were super friendly. When one of our party locked themselves out on a Saturday night a staff member quickly came to help us.
Nice location. Friendly staff. Dated rooms and spotty hot water. Overall, a very good hotel.
Quaint little hotel. Very old but clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Only complaint was that our room, Room 2, needs a new mattress and pillows. I was constantly rolling over to the middle.
We had to take our luggage up 3 floors only for the lady that checked us in I couldn’t have done it. The stairs are very narrow and doesn’t meet code lacking banisters . Very expensive..
Had to rush out of the hotel this morning due to early morning closure of the roads Would have been nice to be informed of this
Best location.
It is in a perfect spot for a short stay. la Bouche is across the street for breakfast and plenty of other things to see and do. Service was great, the two beds were slightly uncomfortable but the room was spacious and super clean. I would stay again if I ever needed to go back to Quebec City.
Was not happy to have to leave my room to use my bathroom The staff are just wonderful Diana so welcoming and took my bag up the stairs The girl at the front desk lovely too. So friendly & remembered my previous visits
Had a great time!
I highly recommend this hotel because of its proximity to the various tourist spots of Old Quebec. Every important tourist destination is a walking distance away. Dining options are available right outside the hotel Diane and Diana were also very accommodating and helpful. They are just a phone call away during this entire stay.
It was really good
The Property was quaint and felt like an old European row house. The whole area was very easy to get around and get used to the flow of everything there.
It was awesome. So cenyral. Clean Nd friendly.
Convenient to wslk around and see many historical places and lots of options for food. Parking alittle confusing. More info and heads up about parking options ahead of time wouldhave been helpful
Great staff and excellent location. The building is old and full of character.
The staff is very very nice and thoughtful. We are on the third floor and it’s a little hard to carry the huge case through the stairs. The interior is clean with French style decor which I like.
Our room was adequate but our washroom was down a hall and very dated. I didn't shower as I am a a bigger man and the shower was extremely small. The electrical was sketchy as they used extension cords(not legal in Ontario) We paid more then I expected(taxes I guess)but the location was excellent. I guess that's what we paid the amount we did. Location, location, location!
Great location, clean, nice size room, helpful staff.
Great stay. The best location you can hope for. The room is a little tired and could use a refresh, and not a super comfy bed. All in though, a good option for the heart of old Quebec
We had a wonderful girls weekend away in Quebec City. The charm and quaintness of the 100 year old hotel was just what we were looking for. We stayed on the 3rd floor of this hotel and there are stairs! We had no trouble at all walking up and down. We had 2 rooms and really appreciated the helpful kind staff. Everything was very clean. Only downfall was the hotel didn’t have a blow dryer. We absolutely recommend this wonderful hotel and the amazing city of old Quebec! We were able to find so many walkable restaurants that were incredible! Parking wasn’t an issue for us because we took the via train which also added a different kind of experience which we really enjoyed! I can not say enough wonderful things about our amazing girls weekend in Quebec.
The building is old, but hey - it's Quebec City! We had a charming room, overlooking the street, and that added to the sense of connection to this unique city. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. If you want a modern, sterile and bland room, then stay at one of the high-rises in the area. But if you are okay with small imperfections (like creaky stairs) then by all means stay here. The location couldn't be better, and to me, it was a refreshing change from corporate conformity.
The staff was very kind and helpful! The room was very clean, as well. The location was great, and we walked everywhere. Would definitely come back here!
The room 13 has 3 noisy airconditoners fixed on its window.
Small room that had everything we needed! Small notes: Shower temperature fluctuated wildly. Stairs to the third floor were tilted. Air conditioning worked like a dream during a heatwave. Lovely staff, amazing location that could not be beat. Listened to a performance on the Plains of Abraham from our room - shame the window did not open. Would stay here again, despite the walk-up (to be expected) and shower! Excellent respite at the end of some long, tiring days, with enough restaurants nearby to keep you happy without going too far.
Everything in the room (29) is old and out dated. We’ll almost every thing the TV was new. But They really need to update everything from the bed to the pillows. Bathroom is tiny and so outdated. The toilet was loose so every time you sat down the dam thing rocked back up and forth. My advice spend a little more and get a better place to stay.
Staff were super friendly, check in was a breeze, the building has lots of antique/heritage charm since it was built in the 1800s. Our room was super clean and spotless. The rooms are modestly furnished and some of the furniture a little tired; however, our bed, pillows were comfortable and everything in the room worked including the AC and fridge which were super to have on a hot summer day.
Not very friendly staff.
Great staff and location!
The hotel verges between a 1-2 stars. Easy upgrades could be done to improve the comfort like better pillows and mattresses. Also a coffee maker with no coffee. Overall it was a decent place with nice staff and great location but quite expensive for the atmosphere.
Right in the heart of Old Quebec, really convenient
Hotel is in a fantastic location - right near main shopping/restaurants street in old Upper town. Interior is in need of updates and shower was a bit persnickety - as is to be expected in old buildings. Check in was very thorough and friendly!
Our private bathroom was separate from our room across the hall, but was fine. The proprietor was very friendly and helpful but wasn't available until 9a, which made it slow for us to check out and start our limited sightseeing
The check in was fast and easy.. I love that there was so many place to go to eat .. only downside the ac did not work
Hotel well located in the Old town. Parking was easy with a fee. Bathroom was practically new. Stairs were very steep for me, to the 3rd floor [second etage francais]. Very quiet : no noise could be heard from the busy street below or from other customers, but there seemed to be few other customers from June 6-10. Staff members were very welcoming and kind. We had a room with 2 double beds that seemed comfortable.
Good overall
