This hotel was amazinggg! My bf and I loved the hotel because of its view and also location was great close to the castle and the sightseeing areas. The breakfast was also good. The property is close to the bus station as well. The only thing I didnt like was the bed which were two beds they connect to each other. Other than that loved this hotel

Aardig en behulpzame personeel. Voor een klein heineken biertje betaal je de hoofdprijs. Na 2 heineken en een wijntje á 8 euro zijn we de stad in gegaan. Bar was leeg op ons na. Dat was Jammer!

This hotel was great but for one thing - like many Italian hotels, the bed was very uncomfortable. We like firm beds, but our bed was like concrete.

Santa Margherita Honeymoon bliss!

Check in was fantastic! The room is spacious, with a beautiful direct view of the marina and surrounding landscapes. Sunrises are phenomenal! We have found the beds in Europe are all significantly harder than ours in North America so I wouldn’t deduct points for that but something to be conscious of when you are travelling. The ladies at check in were wonderful, and we used the laundry service to give our honeymoon wardrobes a full do over- it always helps us pack so much less! Nobody likes lugging around heavy suitcases in cobblestone! This town has SO much more to offer, with half the cost of neighbouring (overhyped) Portofino that is only minutes away. So many places to eat and drink and shop!

I loved the balcony and that it is right on the water.

We were so happy with this hotel, from the friendliness of the staff to the excellent location on the water. There is a bit of street noise, but that was to be expected based on the location. The included breakfast and VIP sparkling wine at check-in was a wonderful surprise!

This is one of the nicer hotels we’ve stayed in. The staff was simply fantastic, helping us with train planning as a strike was about to start. The waterfront rooms are very comfortable. The breakfast selection was wonderful and delicious. Would love to come back.

The hotel was in a great location, walkable to everything (including the train station). Comfortable bed and big bathroom. Balcony was great, a nice place to sit quietly and enjoy the view. Staff were friendly and helpful with any questions. A good buffet breakfast included, which is a bonus. Hotel has a lift, which is handy when needed.

We were enchanted from the moment we entered the room and gazed upon the harbour and seaside. The balcony was a great place to sit and watch the boats come and go and the people pass by on the promenade. The king size bed was very comfortable. The bathroom a good size and the shower had great pressure. Location was perfect, walkable to all things. The staff were so helpful and very friendly, always welcoming us as we came in and out. We didn't use the pool, but we did use the reciprocal beach access with another hotel and that was amazing. We would come again.

nice staff and able to help if needed

As we approached the final leg to Santa Margherita Ligure, all roads from Rapallo were closed due to multiple events. I sent an email to the hotel and received an immediate and reassuring response. This service level was throughout the hotel staff from check in to breakfast to luggage assistance. I had prearranged parking which I read about in Rick Steves’ handy guide and it was a nice garage up the hill. On arrival and departure the handy little drive at the front door made things easy. The adjacent restaurant, though separate from the hotel was very good. Taking the hourly boat to Portofino or other destinations was just across the street so very easy to leave the car parked while here. The seafront terrace each room has was a wonderful feature we enjoyed a great deal.

Parking garage is a couple blocks away which is no problem if the weather is nice.

The staff, in all respects, was amazing, professional and kind. They helped anyway they could…even to the point they got me a doctor within hours to come see and treat me for a bad back. The restaurants, train station and some shops are easy walking. It’s the place to stay if going to Portofino and visiting Cinque Terre! 1st Floor rooms much better than 2nd and 3rd floor. Really good breakfasts. Great place.

This hotel was sufficient but nothing special. We loved exploring the area though and had a wonderful time.

This hotel is like a love and hate relationship, love the location , the view and the services but hated the room, the smell in the room was awful, they pretend it they could not smell it , I ended up emptying my perfume every night in order to go in.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Laurin and a great room with a beautiful balcony and view overlooking the water. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Great location and helpful staff. The restaurant that is in the same building is wonderful. The food is solid, and the staff it top notch. Much better experience than some of the crowded places on the nearby streets and plaza (where sometimes you feel as if you are a burden rather than a customer).

Amazing location and balcony views

Amazing location with very comfortable beds. The balcony view was fantastic however it could be a lot cleaner. The shower over the bath was very tight and although we were in the apartment the kitchen area was closed off. We didn’t really need it so didn’t bother to ask for it be opened.

The hotel has an excellent location. Breakfast was very good and staff very friendly. While my room did not have a great view, rooms on the front have an excellent view and place to sit outside

The reception staff at this hotel are amazing. Ask them why the church bells ring 37 times. They find out anything you need to know. We were served every morning by fantastic staff at breakfast. We will be back

Great choice compared to luxury options

The location is great (right in middle of town and waterfront) and the views from the room are excellent. The balconies are very large and shaded. The AC works pretty good, which can be hit or miss in Europe. The pool was a good place to retreat but is rather small and seating is limited. The breakfast wasn’t very good compared to other European experiences. In fact, I’m not sure breakfast is a meal to be enjoyed in Santa Margherita, but you’ll find plenty of coffee shops with pastries if that’s what you like in the morning. I wish the bed was more comfortable and fitted with a comforter. I had to request a blanket.

Great location with breathtaking views from the terraces in the rooms as well as the pool and great service. Our only complaint is that the AC did not get as cool as we would have liked, but when we asked for a fan the staff was very accommodating. I would definitely stay here again

Quick stay in Santa Margherita

Good experience; very easy to get locate and easy to access the local sea front. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful with easy access to parking around the corner from the hotel. I would stay here again and recommend it.

A great, centrally located hotel in Santa Margherita Ligure. Friendly, professional staff. Good breakfast. Had a room on the 3rd floor with a balcony with a view of the harbor. The room was (surprisingly) quiet, given the location.

Wonderful hotel centrally located with professional and friendly staff throughout. Great sun deck with small pool. Breakfast had everything. I am returning in September as for me it was perfect

Loved the hotel and view from our deck

We had a beautiful room with a balcony looking out at the harbor and the Santa Margherita Ligure Castle looming right next to us! Magical! After a few minutes in our room a lovely bottle of chilled Prosecco was delivered to us…Completely unexpected! There is tons of closet space a very nice bathroom and shower and complimentary slippers. Very comfortable bed and large TV. We enjoyed the amazing buffet breakfast provided by the hotel (included in our booking) which had a great selection including scrambled and poached eggs and even table service for our juice and cappuccino. The hotel kindly stored our luggage for us on the last day while we took a boat trip. The location is walkable to everything. The train station is very easy to walk to from here..about 10 min..there are a good amount of stairs to climb with luggage but doable with a rest on the way up :) We used this hotel as a home base for our day trip to Cinque Terre and it was perfect. The sunrise pictures we took from our balcony of the amazing harbor views are priceless. We will absolutely be back!

Amazing staff and the best room and view

The front desk staff were the friendliest Italians we met the entire 10 days we were in Italy!!! So kind and helpful and a genuine SMILE each time we walked by!!!

The area where this hotel is located is unbeatable! Got a room with terrace and the view is amazing! Staff is nice and helpful, breakfast is good. Rooms are a little outdated but comfortable! Only one thing i would change..bring your own hair dryer!!! Hotel has this machine that looks like a vacuum cleaner and it is impossible to style your hair with it!

This property was perfectly situated for easy access to Portofino and other nearby areas, as well as restaurants, shops, waterfront right outside the door. It also has a 5 bed 2 bath apartment in the hotel for rent, which is perfection. Balconies overlooking the water, excellent breakfast, friendly, helpful staff - overall great place to stay.

Very happy with the stay. Everyone is very nice. All the front desk employees are bilingual or better. Everyone Speaks English. The location is the best. I was a little concerned about the stay because the price was so low, but boy was I wrong. Is it a 4-Seasons... no... But I promise it's the best hotel in this area. I have tried them all.

The location is great. The price value was very good. The view was amazing. The room was comfortable and clean. The pool, sundeck area, was very nice and small...stake your claim early depending on time of year. Breakfast was very good with variety and service. The beds and pillows were a little hard for my taste.

The hotel’s location, comfortable beds, clean room, lovely balcony, view, helpful staff, breakfast everything was very good.. please dont hesitate to stay here. It’s location is great, close to the center, maybe 5-8min walk. view is perfect from the balcony. Room has automatic blinds for dark lovers.. they have private parking for rented car. It is cheaper than basic parkings. we were happy to stay there

The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful at Hotel Laurin. We were able to park safely and conveniently which is worth a lot around Portofino. The hotel is slightly tired and especially the outdoor area, not completely clean. However, it was completely fine and we enjoyed our stay. The breakfast is fantastic, generous, varied and delicious! Portofino is beautiful of course, but get ready, it is overrun with tourists.

Great location for nightlife, bus & ferry.

The staff was so friendly and helpful. Loved the pool area and food/drink service there. The location couldn’t be beat - restaurants and shops right out the door. The room fit our family of 5 perfectly. Loved the two bathrooms. The perfect ending to our trip to Italy!!
