Don't Go
This hotel is in a terrible state. The entrance was unlit passage carpet stained. The rooms had chipped walls bathroom was mouldy and luke warm water for showering The beds required us to make them with heavy stained blankets Breakfast was poorlycatered and presented Hotels.com should stop listing this accommodation
The bedroom was ok, but the hot water took almost 20 minutes to get hot. The floor towel wes wet. I called reception to change it … but no one came.
I will stay there again when I return to Zagreb.

Terrible experience, it’s a pricey horrible hotel. The rooms are in terrible condition, there is no AC and there excuse is that it’s set in 24’C for the whole hotel for environmental reasons (but all the rooms have the fan on all day). The water is also not heated, carpets are disgusting, the breakfast was not only terrifying but also a health hazard. DO NOT GO FOR ANY REASON!!!!
The cleanliness isn’t the best it was ok for only one night. Would’ve liked to be informed beforehand that there would be an extra fee for the parking lot. Overall good!!
Everything is old and not taken care of. AC did not work. Front desk completely unresponsive to any complaints. Refused to change the room claiming "28 degrees is perfectly fine".
Clean but very outdated like travel back to seventies. Excellent location.
I booked this hotel because it said that it had free parking and air conditioning. It had parking however there was no air conditioning. We turned on the machine and you had to literally be right on top of it to feel a little air. Nowhere near enough to cool a room. It was difficult to sleep in that heat. Also there was mold in the bathtub and the shower head was broken. This place needs a major renovation.
Perfect for our stay. Good location, close to the center of Zagreb.
old hotel should be closed they dont't follow codes amd standards
Are you sure the hotel is top of the range in the 1960s or 70s when it was built. However, it has not been updated since.
Nice place Nice staff
Great and helpful staff Very safe place Near to transportations
They took payment for the city tax when I checked in, but not the hotel. I thought I had paid through Expedia. Then the kept calling and knocking on our door while my wife and I were sleeping to say we needed to pay. Then I got up and dressed and went to the front desk to pay, and they told me I couldn’t pay I had to wait until the morning.
No A/C when there was a heat warning. The bathroom had severe mold problem and we saw several cockroaches as well
The hotel is old and needs upgrading. It was okay for a short stay
nice place ,
Esta sucio
Property was old & dark. Smelt musty. I would never stay there again nor would I recommend it to friends or colleagues. Should not be 3 star. But you get what you pay for.
It’s a cheap hotel and you get what pay for. The bathroom had mold in the bath/shower. The front desk was super helpful. The restaurant breakfast met the minimum… but was good. The location is ok but it’s a mile walk to the square.
Convenient, Transortation
Stay at Laguna
We had a great stay at Laguna. This hotel is underrated. We had booked the suite during the New Year week, and loved the staff and amenities. Keep up the great work Laguna team
Terrible noise - very unpeaceful stay
I am staying in this hotel every time I am in Zagreb. Good price, clean and close to downtown. Excellent service.
Great staff and nice rooms.
Its in a quiet area but its needs a bit of refurbishing and upgrade. ACs are kept at a fixed temperature! I couldn't set it more colder
Well located. Needs complete renovation
Well located. Needs complete renovation
They advertise wifi and AC - had neither - call first before booking
Catastrophic
Hotel Laguna Zagreb
Everything is very old. Needs renovation. Room windows mechanism was broken and can't be opened - no fresh air at all. Shower was tragical - water pressure was so law and water literally was dripping. Cleaning staff enters the room a couple of times when I was inside and even thhey didn't apologize. Finally they cut off the power of the room before check out. The breakfast is so pure and the coffee was tragical.
Needs immideate uplift
Not sure you would be happy to stay in a property with this kind of carpet. as we ha d in room 426. As for the TV...its just an example why you need an uplift as the sooner the better . a simple lcd screen costs a few euros and would uplift any room . Thank you anyway. your staff is great, and service as well, but the room is a disgrace.
It was ok , clean …but sound of neighbors, there was no tv , no welcoming tea or coffee on desk
Hotel Laguna rooms are quite small, bathroom small & old - in my case the wash basin & bathtub drainpipes were clogged and need wait to drain the body wash liquid - seems the hotel management never spends to check the basic bathroom necessities of the rooms - another most dramatic problem arose when the old shower knob suddenly broke (when not in use) - resulting unstoppable water gush…called reception to send someone to repair - he too could not … and the day was a waste … later left hotel…. Was not a good experience… Hope Hotel management takes steps to check all room & bathrooms to let tourists after long journeys stay nicely. Thanks Ps - location is quite nice - can take car to go city center and other visit places easily - car park is available
Everything was excellent!
Cosy and nice place
We spent two nights at the hotel. I know thehotel for many years and improvements and refurbishements are noticable since my last visit. Staff is fruendly and helpful, beds are good, breakfast can suit people with different habits. Area is quiet but a walking distance from the main Jelacic square. Safe parking inside the hotel's yard is priceless if you visit Zagreb and wish to walk around. See you again soon!
Will never recommend this hotel to anyone !! Very very bad !
Tony
Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Good breakfast, decent room. General Manager should do a walk through the front door and surrounding area - all of it could do with some attention, work and freshening up!
Satisfactory
Room was clean. Beds comfortable. Good wifi connection. Adequate breakfast. Good parking available within the same premises. AC in rooms were all central, very old and cooling up to 24 degrees only. Given the heat wave during our stay we asked the reception to lower it further (at least untill the room cools down a bit) but we were informed that this was not possible, apparently due to a recent law by the government in order to downnsize the energy consumption 😡. Overall good value for money.
Excellent
Fantastic service for a mid drive from the UK
Was good thanks
Great hotel.
Great stay! Clean, friendly staff, comfortable bed and very affordable!!!
Recommended
Comfortable, convenient, reasonably priced for our needs.
You get what you pay for. TV didn't work. Internet hardly ever worked. Breakfast was gross. Staff doesn't really want to be bothered to solve any issues. The place is old and looks it. It's in a rather lifeless residential area. BUT, if you just need a place to crash and you want to save money, it's good enough. You'll probably have to go to the lobby to use the internet though. Bed is very low to the ground, couch is not comfy.
Maybe 20 years ago it was an OK hotel, today is runned down. The warst thing is that now it is used by covid infected people on quarantine and noone disclosed that information. On expedia site it showed room with 4 tween beds. The hotel has only two doubles rooms. I'll be contacting customer service about that.
the hotel was dirty and disappointing
A bit old styled, but comfortable, organized, with parking.
Location was great. Walking distance to Zagreb centre and all museums. Continental breakfast beats most places hands down.
Fine place near to many attractions, good breakfast and other
The hotel is on the edge of an industrial district. Although not too far from the centre.
Near a tram stop, and a classic hotel in terms of the era during which it was designed and constructed
Good but a bit far from main attractions
First thing we saw is strip club and was terrified as travelling with children. Room was good, service was good, a bit of distance from main attractions. Breakfast was ok, not much of seasonal choice( no fresh fruit or vegetables)
The location of the hotel is not close to the town activities...but there are tram stops around I cannot remember the room condition but just hv the impression that it is small.. The staff is pretty helpful There is a lap dancing bar in the hotel, but it does not bother me
Read the Reviews Before Booking
The hotel has a strip club in the lobby, the pictures do no look like the hotel at all, the wifi will never work and unclean is an understatement. There are much nicer places in the city for cheaper.
Hotel was well located to some of the major attractions. Decent buffet breakfast with wide selection
Only one of 4 persons we dealt with at the reception desk was pleasnat and friendly. One particular gentleman wss very rude everytime we asked him a queston. Wish i got his name.
Clean Retro-Style Deco Hotel budget price
Well located, the hotel furnuture/decoration seems from the 70's but well maintained specially the nice dinning room brings you back to the past (they could advertise as Retro Style). Overall is clean. But the bathrooms need to be up-dated/renovated, change the old/unsafe tubs. Up-date the TV's. Breakfast is OK.
A bit dated
Laguna is a ok hotel for the price, but there where no internet in the room - only in receptionarea.
Odd vibe, but pretty ok otherwise.
It’s a fine hotel, but has a very seedy vibe to it due to the decor and the strip club off the lobby. The rooms are clean and service was good too!
Overnight in Zagreb
Be aware that there is a strip club in the hotel lobby
a nice hotel
a nice friendly hotel a bit of a walk to centre but nothing drastic breakfast very basic ( better off to eat out ) single men might like to know there is a lap dance club below
Nostalgia
Everything was outdated. You need to visit to know what I mean. It is just like nothing changed since they established the hotel in late 80s or early 90s. Besides, room carpet was so terrible in condition.
Comfortable and Affordable
I was there for 2 nights and found it to be quite comfortable for the price, and not too far from downtown.
Lots of tour buses
Hotel is not close to anything. Told it was a 20 minute walk to city center but more like 40 minutes. The neighborhood is rundown. There is a nightclub in the hotel that catered to lude dancing.
Poor part of town it seems like and sewer smell due to construction
the worst hotel ever.
the first word that i heard was 'WHAT' WIFI didn't work at all and staffs were so rude. 'unkind' is not enough word. bed was sunk.
An economy hotel near downtown
A clean place, but the comfort is limited. The rooms are small, but clean, the staff is nice, breakfast is tolerable. Everything in Zagreb is nearby, the tramway station id around the corner. The hotel has a comfortable parking.
Convenient hotel 10 minutes walk to tourist centre
All expectations of a three star hotel. Convenient location, adequate buffet breakfast and reasonable restaurant.
Nice hotel with parking space, near down town.
Clean room, nice staff, acceptable breakfast. The location is near down town area with very good connections (public transportation). The hotel has own free parking. It is very important in such a city like Zagreb. The rooms are clean, the staff is really nice. However, some necessary work shall be made in order to improve room comfort...
Practica hotel, economy class, with parking.
Excellent location, connection to public transportation, near city center and with parking. However, economy class.
A hotel near city centre, excellent transportation
A nice hotel near the city center with a free parking and excellent connection to the down town are and anywhere else. The personal is pleasing, the breakfast is nice. You will get a clean room for a corresponding price.
Not really for families
The hotel room was fine - slept 4, was reasonably clean and no problems with noise on our floor. However, it is features a poledancing club with adverting and entrance in the hotel lobby. Not appropriate for us! (My husband asked me if I thought they'd rent rooms by the hour.)
Value hotel close to downtown
It is an older hotel near the downtown area. The room is clean and the staffs are friendly. For a short stay, it is not bad.
More than adequate
Stay was fine. Breakfast was great. Good value
Good hotel, will stay again
the hotel was clean, room very comfortable, enough room for the while family. Wi-fi was free of charge as well as parking. Check in and check out process was fast with no issues. The only small issue was inability to control AC which was set to 25 degrees celsius, far high for my standards.
Nice hotel in Zagreb
Nice hotel, great location, affordable pricing for a family of four. Excellent breakfast.
Nice hotel with excellent traffic connections
Nice hotel near the city center with excellent traffic connections and a parking spot.
Close to cafe and restaurants.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel as we had easy access to local eateries. We did need to catch a tram into the central city area although this was not far. A great deal to see and do in Zagreb. Accomodation was clear and appealing.
Good budget hotel
Lobby and restaurant are good but rooms are very small
Nice hotel with good connection to the city center
Friendly staff, everything can be reached in 10 minutes, either walking distance, or by the tramway that is around the corner. The breakfast is all right, the staff is very nice. The parking for customers is free. However, it is no hotel to stay longer than 3-4 nights.
An nice, inexpensive hotel near downtown Zagreb
See above. The staff is nice, the breakfast is good. The hotel itself needs some repair, but the rooms are clean and nice.
Nice hotel
Nice, clean and comfortable room, plenty of room for 4. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Had dinner at the hotel restaurant, chose basic 3 course menu which tasted very good and filled us up, excellent value at 65 kuna each. Would go back again to explore city.
Low budget hotel, but nice and convenient
See above: Low budget hotel, but nice and convenient. Everything in the city is in walking distance (or to reach by tramway), the breakfast is also good.
Economy hotel near city center
Nice staff, the hotel has parking, the rooms are is clean, but economy, and they have a nice breakfast.
Pleasant stay with an excellent connection to down
The staff is very nice, the breakfast is good. It is an economy status hotel, but nice and clean with free parking and excellent connection by tramway to everywhere in Zagreb.
Basic city hotel
The hotel is old, dark and has a feeling of an old worn out hotel. It is situated far from the city center and the tram stop is far from the hotel and needs to pass through a neighbourhood full od night club and bars. Did not feel safe in the night. The room I had faced the street and was noisy. The bathtube is very small. The reception is rude. Not welcoming. Overall an unpleasant stay snd would not recommend it.
Old soviet style hotel with big lobby and dining area. Room was spacious. Room furniture really pretty terrible, yet bed and bath linen new and crisp. Bathroom was roomy too. Breakfast was just ok except for the lousy coffee. Wifi signal good but one had to continually relog-on. Hotel was fine for one night. Very good casual barbecue restaurant across the street
Low budget hotel, but clean and pleasant
The hotel is located in a side street, but near the city center. Down town area is in walking distance, but public transportation (street car) is also around the corner. The stuff is pleasant and ready to help, you can get a nice breakfast with coffee. A cappuccino is also available, however, with a surcharge (about $2). And, don't forget - if you have a car, the parking is free.
The service is a very poor. When we ordered a taxi they cheat us. We asked a taxi and they provided us with their car with higher price
Low budget hotel, but very convenient
If you are looking for a convenient, low budget hotel with free parking, take this one. The staff is nice, service is good, the room has everything and is clean. Downtown Zagreb is in walking distance. However, don't forget, it is only a tree star hotel.
In Transit
Slept for one night - very comfortable, in a nice and clean room. Breakfast was amazing, eggs prepared as desired. Very polite staff: we were rather late for breakfast, they waited without problems - very professional.
No issues whatsoever. At the top of the three star hotel range. (The "Late Bar" is rubbish as these things go...")
Very nice hotel in quiet area
nice hotel, worth the money for the price. Very nice resteraunt accross the street, makes fantastic Serbska Chevab. Bit far from tram stop, but no other drawbacks. Very quiet area, easy to relax.
Nope
I wouldn't go there again. If was extremely noisy in the room - from the next door pub and also because of the other guests. Simple conversation in the next door room could be heard. Otherwise, very nice staff and satisfying breakfast.
Pretty good for the price
A lot of people are moaning about how it's miles away from the centre...what a load of rubbish. I walked from the hotel to the centre of the city within about 25 minutes. If you want, you can take the tram which will get you there within just around 10 minutes. People expect everything to be handed on a silver plate nowadays, pathetic. They must be fat. Anyways, moving on, the hotel itself is alright. Nothing special, have everything you need, buffet breakfast is rather simple but has everything you'd expect (eggs, bread, variety of hams, fruit, yoghurts, cereals). It's a 3 star hotel for crying out loud, don't expect fois gras or unicorn breast. The service was good, a tad varied though. Some of the staff were very friendly, some were a little unconcerned with your questions (especially the older ones). The only thing that annoyed me was the bed, it wasn't exactly the most comfy of beds I must admit, but it didn't really bother me that much as I was so exhausted after walking all day that I passed out pretty much as soon as I hit the hay. Would come back again if I went Zagreb in the future.
A last choice at best
Where to begin....first of all we did not have high expectations but this hotel still fell far below par. There is a strip club very obviously located right near the lifts in the main lobby. There is a childrens school right next door with hundreds of children promising a very early morning wake up call, that's if the cleaners haven't woken you up first. The rooms are very basic which is fine, except there is no way to change the air con settings. We were given a room which appeared to permit smoking complete with ashtrays....and a serious smell on everything and they would not change this. It is not the most central hotel, you will need to use the trams. The hotel staff are not particularly helpful or caring. The breakfast is, honestly, the worst I have ever seen in hotel...in all three mornings we were there none of the breakfast food was replenished so make sure you get there early!!! Top tip....if you ask in German they can be persuaded to fry you some eggs, which is quite something when compared to what's on offer. It is bearable for a night but be very aware that this is not somewhere you want to be staying for any longer.
Small but fine
Fine hotel, apart from the tv which was definitely last century. Room, shower is all small but absolutely fine.

Great price,
