Great stay
Rooms were amazing and very clean! Hotel next to an awesome Jewish deli which was great for breakfast!
Nice
Tub
Not impressed!
We selected this hotel for its charm & perhaps intimate / personal touches as shown on the website but we’re disappointed. The check in staff was unfriendly, however, the person who checked us out was great. The room was Impersonal with inadequate lighting, the carpet was old… We don’t recommend this place.
Quaint and pretty hotel. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The heat was on way too high in the building otherwise a great stay.
Review title
Cool historic hotel in good shape with lots of antique furniture. WiFi is censored for some reason.
Quick stay but so great
My wife and I had dinner a few months ago next to this hotel and said if I came back again I wanted to check it out. I think she’s mad she wasn’t with me for this trip but next time we 100% will stay here. Bed was crazy comfortable and staff was so friendly. I got in late so wasn’t able to enjoy the restaurant next door again but can say it was amazing as well from the first time we ate there.
Beautiful old-fashioned hotel
Excellent hotel
Beautiful hotel, friendly staff and the attached restaurant was delicious
Here's a great review for Hotel La Rose based on the highlighted information: Hotel La Rose: A Fantastic Stay! I had a wonderful time at Hotel La Rose. The area surrounding the hotel was safe, quiet, and walkable. There were plenty of shopping and dining options within easy reach. Plus, the easy parking was a huge convenience. The hotel itself had a very nice historic feel to it. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Santa Rosa. Overall, I give Hotel La Rose 5 stars!
Lovely old inn, a bit musty & over decorated for Xmas, and desk staff was less than forthcoming with information we requested about the area’s walkability (which is excellent) and location of needed shopping (eg where to find a newspaper/FedEx/laundromat/dry cleaner). We appreciated the free parking as a vip perk (unexpected), free 24 hour lobby coffee and proximity to Grossman’s, a fine deli w full bar, as well as to Aroma (?breakfast/lunch place across street) and visitor info in converted historic train station across a little park from the hotel. Might stay there again; might keep looking.
Will definitely stay again!
Great Place would stay again.
Love the stores and attached restaurant
Nice property out in downtown Santa Rosa
Great room, surrounding area offered lots of shopping and and eating. Good place to spend a weekend
I had a wonderful time at the hotel. Wonderful location. Festive Christmas spirit. Only one complaint—the remote for the tv was sticky and very dirty.
Clean
Cute Bed and Breakfast in Downtown area with lots of nearby restaurants and shops.
The carriage JR suite is the perfect room! I always have a comfortable stay. It’s the only place I stay when I’m in Santa Rosa
I’ve been staying at La Rose once or twice every week since July 2024 and their service has been consistently great, the rooms are clean and the check in/out process is very convenient. Last week, I stayed at #63 carriage, which was above the ice machine. I could hear the noise but it was tolerable.
Pleasant overnight.
I love this place , like stay at someone's home 💞💞this is my fourth visit
Stayed on the courtyard. Room was lovely, wifi decent and bed was comfortable.
The front desk woman was not helpful at all. Plus our room wasn’t ready at 4pm check in and they only gave us one room key.
A great value
A very nice little historic hotel with very clean and comfortable rooms and plenty of dining options within walking distance.
We’ve stayed at La Rose several times. It’s historic and unique - but really needs some TLC. I guess we were eligible for a free upgrade - but instead we had the most basic room in the hotel with a view of the roof and shed. We did get free parking.
Just “meh”
The experience was just ok. Front desk staff was somewhat lacklustre in their greeting and at checkout. Nothing fantastic, but nothing horrible either…just meh.
Excellent hotel
Santa Rosa favorite
Cozy older hotel with friendly staff
Nice weekend getaway
My friend and I met for a weekend stay in Santa Rosa at the Hotel La Rose. It was centrally located, and we could walk to many places. We stayed in the historic portion of the hotel, which was charming. We understand the challenges of an older building, but it would've been nice to have a microwave and fridge.
Cool old hotel
Really cool old hotel. Carpet in the room was kinda nasty but literally everything else was great
Great stay, a bit noisy.
Nice clean period-correct style hotel with very good amenities and fits my budget. Easy access to many eateries, shopping, and freeway.
Historic hotel with clean room
It was a comfortable night in the carriage king.. but second floor has 18 steps to it and no elevator. We left our luggage in the car. The bathroom could use modernizing but it was clean.
The staff was wonderfully available and helpful at all hours. The problem was the room. We stayed in the “carriage house”; a supposedly newer building. The staff acknowledges there is a problem with the hot water in the building. The mattresses were older with people-sized divots pressed into them. The biggest problem was the drop-frame windows and balcony door had single pane glass and no weather stripping so EVERY sound came in from outside. We never got to sleep till 7am. First night was the street sweeper at 0445 who made a second pass at 0500, Next day was the landscaping crew at 0645. Then the garbage truck at 0500 and finally the delivery truck to the hotel on the last morning at 0630. Hotel over-all seems a half step above average, I do not know what rooms in the main building are like, but stay away from the Carriage House.
We like the feeling of the room has a nice yard
convenient, clean and quiet.
Cute, clean but lacked common amenities.
Terrific stay in downtown Santa Rosa
Wonderful stay. Great location, lovely property, extremely professional and warm welcome at reception, quick help with our bags when we asked. Our room was spacious, well appointed, quiet and very comfortable. We didn't try the restaurant associated wth the hotel but the offerings looked very good and we liked that this was an option for next time.
Good old fashioned hotel, however the bathroom was super dirty. There were clumps of hair on the shower walls.
Beautiful historic home!! Very elegant and distinguished. Staff was attentive. Very clean! Bed was comfortable. Great shower. Very quiet property. Safe area. Parking is across the street. Located in downtown historic district, so lots of dining/shopping options within walking distance. Highly recommend!
We stayed at the carriage house. This is the area I wanted to stay because I did not want to stay in the main building. However, the photos that were on the website were not even close to the reality of the room! The bathroom sorely needed to be updated. When turning on the AC, there was a disgusting smell of something sour like urine. Or at least it smelled like it. Luckily, in the evening was cool enough to not have to turn on the vents. The bathtub Was very slow to drain when showering. It was also quite slippery. Thank goodness the mat was there, however, that was pretty gross as well. Staining was very evident on the mat. Slowly enter the shower when the hot water is on because it is extremely hot! I actually fell out of the shower, trying to run away from the hot water as I was adjusting it. Luckily, I was not hurt.
Wonderful Victorian hotel
Was great love the restaurant attach
I didn’t get her name, but the nighttime on duty staff on 10/8 was amazing. Positive and informative. The hotel was wonderful and it was very convenient to food, parking, attractions and travel routes. I’ll be back!
Was great front desk people were very respectful
Sweet hotel, a bit tired on the inside but super comfortable and in a great area
All good had free parking. Been here plenty times. First time in room at back of property. Light comes through the roof window at all times. Shower not so good even though it’s an old property. Had Thai food and Mexican over the road. Didn’t eat or drink at property found it expensive. 50 dollars bottle Californian wine. Don’t get that.
Friendly and vintage as I had hoped
I had a really nice stay. The front desk staff is amazing. They both made me feel really welcome. I am a native of Santa Rosa so this historic gem was a real treat. So many great shops and dining options nearby too!! I will be back again.
The hotel was very nice overall, what I expected from an historical building. Appreciated the modernized bathroom; everything worked well. My only criticism was at the entry level where, given that historical buildings don't have vending machines and mini-fridges, there should have been a refreshment area in/near the lobby with 24-hr coffee, tea, cold water, and afternoon cookies. Even better, porcelain mugs and glasses, no plastic bottles and paper cups. If this has been available, you would have received my highest rating.
I love the new section
Shower curtain broken wouldn’t stay up couldn’t adjust. Sink was squirting water all over , Staff was really short verbiage wise. I’m 6-1 and kept hitting my head on the angled ceiling. A/c wasn’t cold 4th floor very hot. Would I stay again yes but different room. Bed was comfortable Pillows sucked
Disappointed, the Nugget has really gone down hill in the last few years.
Beautiful hotel, couldn’t hear anything from the other rooms. Lovely staff. Some street noise but that’s not the hotel’s fault, loud cars seem to be the trend in this city. Amazing little theaters down the street, loved that!
It has a cute old-timey vibe. Very convenient location. Would definitely stay here again!
We stayed in the original building which my aunt loved. The charm of the decor is fantastic. Location is great and though you have to pay for parking it's not expensive. They have a lot for $50/day but honestly if you're out exploring you can just feed the meter for the morning if you don't leave before 9 and and in the evening if you get back before 6 pm. Install the Passport parking app on your phone and you won't be running up and down fussing with meters. There are plenty of options to eat, drink, and shop right around the block so save some time for that! There are some transient folks around but honestly they're just passing through and don't bother anybody. Do the common sense thing and don't leave anything in your car, you'll be just fine.
Had a wonderful stay at this beautiful historic property ❤️
Downtown but cozy and quiet safe parking and lovely staff . Bed was very comfortable .
Great neighborhood. Eclectic historical way fun
Clean comfortable room. multiple restaurants and bars within the block of the hotel
Hotel was nice staff was terrible
It’s a great hotel
Vintage perfect for the area
I love this old hotel and have stayed many times but on this last trip the wifi was terrible
It was very nice im unhappy I had a janitor at the back of my balcony window for a lot of the night cleaning something in the closet.
Got in late staff was accommodating. Stayed in historic room that had charm and was comfortable. AC worked well it was warm on 3rd floor. Grossman’s Nosh off lobby was excellent.
Cute historical hotel
It was a quick one night stop over stay in Santa Rosa. Cute historic hotel in downtown area.
It was okay, cute but you have to pay extra for parking
Pretty Comfy
Our stay is always amazing! We stay everytime we come into Santa Rosa and love the Old Railroad area. It is also convieniant to downtown 4th street area.
Stayed in the carriage house building, clean spacious and comfortable. Lots of dining and things to do within walking distance. The plumbing was a bit loud but other than that a very nice place to stay that I will return to again.
Historic settings
Like: New & functional.
The location is very good.
Loved the location and the hotel.
Cute place, close to downtown and lots of restaurants. Service was decent, rooms are only cleaned by request. No fridge or microwave in the room, but it was nice.
.
In agreat shopping dining area
Always seems to be a lot of noise in the immediate neighborhood.
Excellent hospitality, quiet, and a beatuful older historical hotel. five stars.
Hotel La Rose
Old fashioned comfortable room - great air conditioning!
It was an okay place. The room was large with a charming courtyard. The staff was friendly but not super knowledgeable.
Ive stayed here a few times and the staff has been consistently helpful, accommodating, and friendly.
A very nice old hotel
A very nice old European style hotel that's clean and comfortable. But some of the carpeting is tired and the TVs too small and far from the beds. I've stayed in several different rooms in the old part of the hotel (there's a new section across the street) and whether it's summer or winter the HVAC struggles to maintain a comfortable temperarture.
Nice rooms!
Great location for the hotel in downtown. All the staff members were awesome! Many great restaurants around the hotel also.
A Disappointing Stay
I used to stay at the Hotel La Rose all the time! It must have been bought by someone else. The front desk people were not friendly, there was absolutely no service to the room, there is no refrigerator or microwave and no "real" cups or glasses. Some of these things are standard in Wine Country. They also started charging for parking, though mine was included in my booking through hotels.com. I was in the Carriage House and my room was upstairs. There is no elevator and nothing remotely resembling an offer to help with my bags. I am disappointed as this has been my go-to hotel in Santa Rosa, which I visit often. I will pay a little extra and stay someplace else next time.
Beautiful historic hotel.
It is very convenient and easy to get to the Apple Festival, and there are lots of great dining options nearby or down the road.
Comfortable bed. Nice room in a historic part of town. Only downfall, no refrigerator in the room. Great restaurants near by.
Nice
Great spot!
Hotel La rose is in a great location! You can walk to some of SRs best restaurants and coffee. Our room was on the carriage house side and it was huge with a cute little patio and lovely courtyard. We are local and I would definitely stay again if needed or recommend to visiting friends and family.
Uncomfortable beds and pillows. Cool old hotel but needs to update the rooms.
Enjoyable stay - easy parking in lot - bottled water always available at front desk - large room - a/c worked well
Great location. Great historical hotel.
Really nice place, well run. There is a bit of homeless/drug use activity in the area especially noticeable later at night. It’s not too bad and I think all the merchants/city have it pretty well under control. I would call the area safe however, lots of nice folks on the streets going to the good restaurants and bars in the area enjoying themselves. I point this out because I like staying here and if the businesses aren’t vigilant things could go downhill. I’ll be back soon.
Great central location!
Ive stayed here more than 10 times and never had issues until last night. The female front desk clerk was horrible, going to the restroom without any “excuse me” and before finishing checking me in. And then the horrible front desk clerk assigned the same room where i was to a male guest, who opened the door while i was in bed. This horrible staff did not apologize. The room she gave me did not have a working toilet. She told me that she would refund my money but i have to move out or move in another unit. She was rude to her co worker the maintenance man who was so helpful. When i got to the lobby, the horrible front desk staff just checked in a guest in the carriage after she told me there was no more available! I cancelled my booking for next week. All it takes is one rude, incompetent staff to turn away your regular guest. I will never book in your hotel again and report your staff for not accommodating my request based on disability.
