Hotel Kyotology is amazing! If you are looking for a place with lots of space this is the one! The pajama set is so comfortable as well. We loved Hotel Kyotology :)

I absolutely love this hotel! The rooms are super modern and stylish. They even have a real Japanese toilet, which is a nice touch. And the checkout/checking process is automated, and with a tablet in the room that handles everything else. It’s so convenient! I’ll definitely be back for more trips.

Super comfortable

Amazing stay!

Great staff, super friendly. The nespresso machine available was a great touch. After not having coffee during most of the other hotels, this was a perfect change. The room is big and minders, the garden a great touch. It was all super clean.

I will definitely stay in this hotel. Everyday they will provide you clean towels and bottled water even not requested. Our room size and bathroom is big. Very close to bus stop, subways and other tourist attractions.

Lovely modern rooms. Big comfortable beds. Amazing shower and spacious bathroom. Overall it was an excellent stay.

Best surprise of the trip so far

The best surprise upon leaving the tiny hotel rooms in Tokyo! The room was spacious! Bathroom portion itself was the size of the hotel room in Tokyo. The staff super friendly, best hotel so far in our trip and I even tried to rebook it again for our return to Kyoto in 3 days but no vacancy.

Everything was superb — all but the cleanliness of the shower room. It was browned with scum (came off with a scrape of a fingernail) Just needs a really good scrub…

Our stay at Hotel Kyotology met our needs for our holiday. Was clean and accessible with friendly staff.

The staff was friendly. They gave you fresh towels and water each day. The restroom was amazing, very big.

The room was beautiful and well maintained. It was very modern and had great facilities. The washing machine and dryer were free to use. It was located in a small room with a vending machine but worked well. They had a coffee machine, microwaves and amenities in the lobby. It was a great place to stay. It was very quiet. It is surrounded by apartments so we did have to walk a bit far to get to some of the areas we wanted to get to. Overall, it's a beautiful place to stay.

Kyoto is such a vibe. this hotel is perfect. super quiet, trendy looking and very clean. i would stay here again.

Beautiful hotel and room, lovely service and extras in the room! Good location slightly out of town but easy walking distance to bus and trains.

Very nice hotel, was amazed with the size of the room and amenities provided for the cost. It’s a little distance from the train station but allows to get lost in the local culture/experience. Loved the easy check-in process! Would definitely stay at again!

First time we have used a self check-in hotel, process was seamless and easy, very tidy modern building in a slightly suburban neighbourhood in Higashiyama convenient to the temple district and short walk to the Kawagawa to catch trains into downtown Kyoto . Bonus is close proximity (across the street) to the amazing Sanjusangendo temple with it 1001 Buddhas

Truly a great experience with this hotel. The entire process is automated and no interaction with any staff, didn’t see one person there. We checked in using the tablet in the lobby, simple process, got our room number and other information and walked in to the room. Very cool. Hotel is ina quiet neighborhood, nothing convenient close by. There is no breakfast offered, so you have to plan it. The room are immaculately clean, and so are the bathrooms. All amenities are included and there is a coffee machine in the lobby. There is also a self service, lockable baggage storage in the lobby. Beautiful, a place I would highly recommend

Amazing stay at Kyotology! The room was excellent and very spacious compared to most rooms in Japan. Definitely recommend staying here.

The property was comfortable but the level of daily cleaning needs improvement. We were disappointed that the used cups were not replaced and the bed made until we contacted the front desk (bed only).

Awesome new age, mostly self serve hotel. Not a lot of frills, but very modern and clean. Only knock is it's about a 20 minute bus ride from the action.

Clean and simple, modern japanese interiors. Spacious room and bathroom. Terrace kind of useless and it looks directly into another apt building. Staff extremely incompetent. Multiple staff couldn't handle sending my luggage to my next hotel on the correct date and failed to give me a receipt or take payment after asking and confirming multiple times about it. Got to my next hotel, was informed my luggage was taken back by the delivery service because it arrived too early and failed to receive payment. What a major disappointment and upset. Would not recommend to anyone.

Beautiful stay

We were in Kyoto for 2 nights and had a wonderful stay. The rooms are rather large for a Japanese hotel and the accommodation was great. The bed was comfortable, and the shower had amazing water pressure. My only negative was the distance to a subway station was rather far.

I like the unique style of the hotel and the loveliness and friendliness of the staff.

The interior design impressed me a lot. Sleeping cloths very comfortable that I want to buy.

Overall, a great stay. Nice, spacious, and clean room with all the amenities, including pajamas and slippers. Very comfortable bed. The hotel is a bit far from convenience stores and places of interest, but there’s free coffee and tea at the reception, and the spacious room was great after all the small rooms we've booked.

깨끗한 호텔

장점은 깨끗하고 조용합니다. 단점은 번화가에서 조금멀고 주변에 먹을곳이 없습니다. 단점 해결방법은, 저녁식사까지하고 번화가인 가와라마치나 가온에서 207번 버스타면 호텔 5분내 거리에서 내립니다. 버스 자주 다닙니다. 그리고, 호텔에서 도보 10분내에 24시간 식료품가게가 있어서 스시, 초밥, 도시락, 라면 등 구입할수 있습니다. 야식이나 간단한 아침식사로 이용하기 좋습니다. 교토 단풍 시즌에 2~3배 비싼 중심가 호텔이 망설여졌는데 이곳이 좋은 선택이 되었습니다.

We loved it.

我們泊宿的, 酒店說有停車場, 我們就去了在酒店前的停車場停車, 後面被停車場要求罰款5萬日元, 停車場的管理者是一個橙色頭髮的大叔及一位阿姨, 怕我們不交罰款把車停在我們的車前, 阻擋去路, 手法完全不像停車場的人, 感覺如同街上的混混, 而且我們晚上進去停車場時並沒有任何牌寫著停車場不可以泊車, 感覺我們遇上了詐騙, 大家要小心!

とても綺麗です。非常にゆっくり過ごせますが周辺にはレストランやコンビニがないのでビジネス使用には不向きです

Nice hotel

少し歩いてでも構わないという人だったらとても良いと思う。三十三間堂は徒歩3分、徒歩15〜20分圏内なら正直歩いたほうが機動力が使えて良い。祇園エリアならちょっと歩けば色んなお店や観光スポットがあるので帰りだけタクシーとか使えば全然イケる！京都駅くらいなら散歩好きな人なら隠れスポット探しながら散歩も楽しい。行者橋とか平安神宮とか鴨川位まで散歩して練り歩いたけど、目的地だけなら出会えなかった道中にしかない隠れたスポットやお店があって楽しめた(流石に真夏は体力ある人しか勧めないけど、ホント暑かったし)

Mein Freund und ich waren drei Nächte in diesem stylischen Hotel. Wir hatten einen ‘Garten’ der ein bisschen Grün neben vielen Steinen hatte und ein großes geräumiges Zimmer. Auch das Bad war schön groß! Wir haben uns jeden Morgen Frühstück gemacht und die Mikro und die kleinen Öfen benutzt. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Und der Self Check in und out ging auch problemlos. Man kann auch zu Fuß ins Zentrum laufen, dauert aber 20-30min. Dafür hat man in der Nähe schöne viele Schreine und Tempel. Wir würden uns wieder für Kyotology entscheiden! Preis Leistung unschlagbar!!
