This hotel is perfect if you intend to make Kyoto as your main stopping point while visiting the nearby cities and attractions, like Nara, Osaka, Nashiki Market, Bamboo Forest, etc. It is very conveniently accessible. The main train station is just across the hotel, along with a mall with lots of food and shopping options. They have a self-service laundry station on the second floor, which you can pay by credit card. The breakfast buffet is costed at 1,980 yen which is considerably lesser than other hotels. The food option, though not superb, is fine. A mix of continental and Japanese menu. The staff can understand and speak English. I will definitely come back to this hotel when I visit the Kyoto area. I highly recommend.

love the location , is right across the train station and subway station. The breakfast had good choices, service was very good. The only thing was the staff were not too familiar w the vicinity to offer any travelling advice.

This hotel is soooo convenient! Basically everything you want is within a 10 min walk max and it’s next to the major JR Kyoto train station with easy access to Shinkansen as well. Room was very well furnished and comfortable. Beds are super nice. Just the right firmness. Would definitely stay again!

Pleasant stay at Keihan Kyoto

The check-in and check-out was smooth and location is great. Being just across the street from Kyoto station you can easily access transportation to anywhere you want to go. Room was decent sized and clean. Nothing to complain about from our family.

The best part of this hotel is the easiness to access all the transportation. The shopping and restaurants are pretty well established in that station as well.

It was close to transportation along with so many restaurants plus a few shopping locations. The staff was friendly and courteous. They helped me out with the slightest problems and helped me ship out my luggage without any real hassle. Definitely would recommend!

It was right across the Kyoto train station. This station is massive with an enormous amount of shopping, restaurants, convenience stores, food options and all the trains you need to get around.

A clean, updated and quiet room for 3 days was ideal. Location is across the street from Kyoto station, which has an abundant number of restaurants and shopping. We went for dinner at the station every night. The hotel has a great breakfast (included) to get you started on your day. Check in was fully automated, but there is an attendant available to assist. It's an easy place to stay if you are taking day trips with the train. There is the Jr Line, subway and the bullet train all at this location.

Nice stay.

We where staying as a stop over went to see the bamboo forests and the golden temple. Room is compact but as we just wanted a bed. Its was clen and tidy.. there is no tea or coffee in the rooms,however opposite the lifts there are trays of teas,coffees, sugars etc to help yourself to. When we 1st arrived a man greeted us and was very helpful, helped checked us in. Not a big selection for breakfast but enough to eat. We left our bags in the locker there and borrowed some umbrellas which the staff on the front desk where more than willing to hand out. Very polite and friendly

Great location next to Kyoto JR station. Highly recommend as a base for exploring Kyoto. Staff were very helpful and nice. Buffet breakfast could give a miss especially at peak time but was included with booking.

Convenient yet not so comfortable

The hotel location is perfect. The general cleaniless is there, coupled with weird room layouts and subpar bed...the pillow is in the hard and dense side. Ended up I woke up before 6am every day...

Well located near the train station. It is hard to dine in the station because of long lines waiting. We used the JR pass to visit many sights so this hotel is just across the street from the station is a plus. Like other budget hotels in Japan. The room is small. We barely can place our luggage.

Good Location and convenience!

Great location just opposite to Kyoto train station on the west exit and lots of restaurants around but the hotel service was not great and breakfast was terrible, cold and breakfast place was very small hence they allowed you to takeaway. Worst of all you were asked to take your tray to the empty station to empty your tray after breakfast. We ended up only had 2 out of 5 breakfasts even we had paid it in advance we had to go to buy our own breakfast in the morning.

The hotel is very convenient located, very supportive staff and one small thing which really moved me. My nail clipper fell apart and I had to leave in a rush so I left the parts on the table. When I came back in the evening, I found my nail clipper was fixed by the staff who serviced the room, I am very touched by this gesture!

Location is good, just opposite hachijo west exit at kyoto station. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was ok. Only downside I would say is the washroom is small, and has no separate shower room only a bathtub beside basin and bidget. Not suitable for elderly as it is fall-prone I feel. I myself accidentally slip in bathtub. 😔 Need to be extremely careful showering in bathtub. Nonetheless, overall it is still a good stay.

I enjoyed my stay. Room is small but acceptable under Japan business hotel standards. Excellent water pressure. Might be the strongest one out of all the hotels I stayed in Japan. Located right across JR Kyoto station. Very convenient with 711 and Lawson nearby. One thing to note is that the hotel is on the south side of the station - the opposite of the bus/express bus stations. If your itinerary includes a lot of buses, you need to give yourself 10 - 15 mins extra to get to the other side.

Breakfast could be better, you were encouraged to take your food up to your room as the breakfast area is very busy and small.

A quick walk across the street to the train station! Very modern quiet and comfortable. My only complaint was the pillow. It was hard as a rock and they did not have an option for any other type of pillow. I don’t consider myself picky, but I ended up having to stuff my puffer jacket inside the pillowcase with the pillow to make it a tiny bit softer so I could sleep. Other than that, nice breakfast buffet. Some strange options for what they consider “ An American breakfast” Such as a green salad, a pasta, dish, and potato salad. But all the food was fresh and there were quite a few different options. They offer a free welcome drink from 3 PM-7:00, which we were excited about. But it ended up just being a Dixie cup, that you can fill at their. soda. and juice machines! Which we found very funny, but appreciated the effort! Overall a nice budget hotel with great transportation access at a great price!!

Excellent Hotel to Stay!

I booked 2 triple rooms for my family and it was clean,smells good,carpet is clean, they do clsaning daily on rooms and they have unlimited drinks for theie guests!Stayed 3 nights and breakfast was all tge same but was sufficient for breakfast! Convinient location due its very close to the kyoto station JR line bus, you can also grab taxis easily!

The hotel is literally right across the street from the Hachijo west exit of Kyoto Station – the location could not have been any more convenient! The price I paid for my room was very reasonable and it was QUIET. Breakfast buffet, while not varying that much day-to-day, was quite filling. I would definitely stay here again.

The location was excellent, being just a few steps away from the JR Line Kyoto station, as well as other restaurants nearby. The size of the room was bigger compared to other hotels we have been in.

Very new hotel and just 1 minute away from the station. The room is a bit too small, so found it a bit difficult to get a space to put a big suitcase. Other than that, it is a very nice hotel.

Great location! So close to the station! Very convenient 7-11 down the street. Breakfast buffet is great but gets busy so you have to go right at 7am when they open but you have the option to take your food to your room. Their coffee is great, too! Highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is directly across the street from the main Kyoto train and transit station. Super convenient location to use to get around Kyoto. I worried a little that it might be noisy being so close to a train station, but nope no sound in the room. Not sure I’d do the prepaid breakfast again. It’s crowded in the dining room at 7 AM because everyone is trying to get an early start on their day. Really liked the hotel overall and recommend it.

Almost perfect

Loved my room and view and location. Hated that I couldn't get the room cool enough at night, which makes my feet swell badly. For that reason, I don't think I can stay here again. The AC didn't work in April. :-( Please get individual room temperature control! Breakfast was plentiful but a bit odd. Would prefer some warm items. But the breads were good.

The shower curtain is dirty. Need to be replaced. The bedsheets look used. The only thing we like was the TV with youtube access and the breakfast buffet. Room is stuffy. Bathroom sink and counter small. I was always scared something would drop on the toilet bowl.
