our go-to hotel in Almaty
this is our third or fourth stay at Kazzhol Hotel in Almaty on Gogol Street. We've greatly enjoyed this hotel It's comfortable, staff is helpful, the location is great with a large mall nearby. Breakfast is also excellent.
The Hotel kazzhol is off the main roads so it’s a bit quieter. It’s in a nice area of the city and it’s very convenient for getting everywhere using Yandex taxi. There are also shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. The room was spacious and comfortable, the staff were helpful and pleasant, and there are lots of choices for breakfast. Very pleasant!
The hotel is pretty old. I stayed two days and there were many small issues: no drinking water at arrival. dirty bathroom, housekeeper entering the room without knocking, finally, no hot water when I was leaving the hotel at 5am in the morning .. Kazzhol Park Inn was the way better.
Not good at all
This was a nice hotel. It is tucked away off of a larger road, making it quiet yet conveniently located. The pool and sauna facilities are nice and the breakfast is good!
Hotel was reasonable price and well located. The booking was for a twin room but double room provided so had to use the couch as second bed. Slow to get service to the room for sheets, duvet etc. perhaps a little understaffed at the hotel. Rooms were clean and well maintained and spacious. Pool is nice, gym is lacking equipment.
Value for money, breakfast was good and no hassles kind of place. Property has great views of the Shymbulak alps and rooms had a balcony with table and chairs. Property is a bit tired and dated but otherwise it’s fine, reception staff spoke English
Excellence
It was so cool
Booked 3 nights before joining a Tour that had another 2 nights here at start and end of the trip. Originally booked a room with balcony, but had to change dates, and upgrade to Jnr suite due to unavailability of date on Expedia, which I assumed also had balcony. No fault of hotel this, but I had to downgrade again on arrival to get the balcony, (at same price) but was able to keep that room for the first 2 tour nights. The last 2 were in a standard room. No kettle in either, safe did not work in first, rooms not serviced or only partially, on several days. Rooms dirty. Food hygiene at SALT at breakfast was awful, with staff handling foods with bare hands touching their faces and noses, and guests having to handle food too, as lack of utensils. Restaurant dirty, uncleared tables, and smell of stale food/fat permeated hotel all day. Dinner in restaurant was just as poor, stale salads and breads, poorly cooked meat. Restaurant didn't have most of their advertised drinks. Bar unmanned. No outdoor space. One receptionist, who appeared to be management, was excellent; Thank-you to her. Others were friendly, but clueless, and far from helpful. No porters, no aircon in restaurant, air con in 2nd room was ineffective. Its quite a walk to decent restaurants and bars. Smoking Area outside hotel rarely cleaned. There was even a pair of women's knickers thrown on the floor in front of the second entrance, among the piles of litter. No security, anyone could wander about.
The hotel is located in an older building from Soviet time. It's clean and nice overall. I enjoyed massage at the fitness center
Hotel Kazzhol
Stayed in the hotel several times in 2018, clean, quiet with great staff. Gym is good with pool and exercise equipment. Only slight complaint is it gets very busy in the dining room at peak breakfast times.
Bring a coat or a blanket
Was very cold....frisking...entrance look a bazar! Price very night for the services.
Wonderful staff-and an excellent resturant!!!!!
Had what I needed, but don't expect too much.
The hotel is in a great location and has the amenities advertised. However, I found the room to be rather small and there was quite a lot of loud renovations across the hall from my room during the day. The people are this hotel's saving grace.
Nice staff, modern rooms, good location, great breakfast. OK gym. Massages are a good deal, but she'll crack some of your bones!
Pleasant stay
Room was rather small but adequate, as was the bathroom which had a shower which leaked badly onto bathroom floor. A small balcony was a bonus. Staff were very helpful whenever we needed something.
OK hotel, a little hard to find
Hotel staff are friendly and speak English. Rooms are clean and adequate for a short business stay. However the hotel is set off the main street and not very well signposted, so our taxi driver took an extra 15 minutes driving around the area trying to find it. A reasonably good spread for breakfast.
Good choifor accommodation and event organisation
I strayed at the hotel for a week and had an event also there: guest room was very comfortable and clean, wifi was very good. Staff at the reception is very helpful. Location is very good, just is few steps from one the major streets of Almaty. Hotel has a separate ward for events: conference rooms are good, well equipped and IT staff are very helpful. The only "minus" for the hotel is venue for breakfast - too overcrowded. Breakfast itself it good, with the exception on of coffee, which is really very bad. But can be ordered as an extra and you will get a good machine coffee.
great location, could walk to most attraction
Minimum fuss on arrival, helped to try and track down a dodgy taxi driver that ripped me off from the airport. All very friendly and great breakfast. Will visit again
Very Good Stay
Very central, clean and staff is very helpful. Breakfast is delicious
Try the Hotel Kazzhol
Very efficient staff - when they learned I would be leaving for a flight in the wee hours of the night, they prepared a breakfast in a to go box. The room was big and comfortable, with plenty of amenities. The location on Gogol enabled me to walk to several places of interest not far away. The only negative was minor: they share parking space with another hotel and it gets very tight for cars dropping off or picking up passengers in front.
Great stay for that price
I enjoyed my stay in this hotel!Everything was awesome but breakfast! There were boring food selections ,no traditional food, also kitchen service staff were watching how much you consuming and gazing while you eat! But overall it's really good place to stay and relax
Very nice hotel
One of the most comfortable hotels for me - both for working at the desk and sleeping. The breakfast is excellent
Seven days in Almaty
Seven nights for a scientific meeting and also for exploring the city. The hotel room was clean and comfortable, and the WiFi was excellent. Excellent breakfast too.
Perfect choice
nice location, nice food, perfect service!!!
good base for a few days in Almaty
Breakfast was plentiful, staff helpful and lovely small indoor pool. It is about 5 blocks walk from the nearest metro and not far from the Arbat for good food for the evening although there is a hotel restaurant. This was the Lonely Planet top pick.
Great place to stay on buisess trip, 5 star breakfast.
The hotel staff was very kind, helpful and friendly, rooms were very clean and they have excellent breakfast.
Good quality at reasonable (for Almaty) price.
I stayed in two Comfort-level rooms. Both were fine, but neither had a shower curtain round the bath/shower. WiFi in the rooms could be a bit unreliable, but worked fine in the hallways and lobby.Staff speak English and are very helpful.
Solid Local-good value relative to the Big 5-stars
Nice enough place, English-speaking front desk, decent central location. Food leaves a lot to be desired, but there are fairly respectable cafes around the corner. Half the price of the International 5-stars.
Nice Hotel
This hotel was nice and the staff spoke English well. They were helpful and gave us useful information about taxis and such.
close to downtown area
Hotel was perfectly located, room was small, breakfest was alright, airco was set on a timer, so in the middle of the night it would stop sometimes, also sometimes power outages, cleaning ladies working in the middle of the night, and one time even mistakenly entered my room, while asleep, overall hotel was good
Hotel Kazzhol
Reception staff friendly, helpful and spoke good English. The hotel bar offering was very poor, small, limited drink selection, didn't even offer the same drink selection as the dining room, which had a little better choice. The hotel beds provided for a double consisted of two small single beds pushed side-by-side with uncomfortable foam mattresses and lumpy pillows
Good Value for Almaty
Hotels in Almaty tend to be either outrageously priced or dismal holdovers from the Soviet era. The Kazzhol is near the city center, new, clean, set back from a major city street (Gogola), and reasonably priced (for Almaty). English was spoken at the front desk. The major drawback was that internet service was expensive, slow, and often unavailable. The fitness center was only available for a fee. Bottom line is that I would stay here again when in Almaty.
Hotel in need of renovation
Bra hotell för turister. Ligger bra till för sevärdheter.
Very old holster, The AC is broken, they can’t fix it
Cok rahat bir konaklama oldu.odamiz temiz ve sessizdi.kahvalti harikaydi.
tesekkurler
herher cok keyifliyfi personeli guzel ilgilendi tavsiye edeerim
Wesołe noce w Almaaty
Dobry klasyczny Hotel. Blizko całej "starej Almaaty" z klubami , restauracjami, bazarem i centrami handlowymi. Jeśli masz problem "ochrona" i recepcja załatwią wszystkie "zachcianki"
Kazzhol Almaty
Good hotel, close to the centre. Genarally excellent facilities. A minus point was the lack of a tea-making facility in the room.
Gute vier Sterne in Almaty
Kazzhol - the "Kazakh Way" ist ein nettes Hotel in Almaty.

The front entrance needs a ramp for bringing up luggage. There are only stairs.
