Beautiful boutique hotel in a great historic neighborhood with amazing staff! Fantastic fresh breakfast buffet. Nice park across the street and easy walking distance to musuems, parks, and plenty of PIZZA! Dont forget to try Verace Pizza around the corner and say hello to Aldo!
Our carpet and bathroom floor were not cleaned the whole time we were there (3 nights). Also the used coffee cups and bathroom glass were never replaced. The French balcony door wouldn’t totally close so lots of noise at night (we were facing the front). And the air conditioner went out and was never properly fixed
We stayed here for four nights two months ago at the start of our winter escape to summer and we returned for a night before our flight home. We were greeted like old friends and, once again, enjoyed the rooftop terrace, the great breakfast and the lovely surroundings, touring several nearby sights that we particularly enjoyed or missed the last time. The staff is terrific and we will certainly return.
Great location, superb service with friendly staff, good breakfast, clean and comfortable room.
one of two elevators not working the entire time of my stay,
Hotel Ismael : Santiago’s most walkable location
Staff were extremely helpful especially at the front desk, in the dining area and the night management staff . The location of this hotel to the sites, restaurants and park was amazing. Recommended highly with location for scenic walking in every direction.
Friendly staff convenient for hop bus. English speaking staff. Looked after all our needs.
Great desk staff location was excellent, safe neighborhood.
The staff was helpful, but couldn't fix the air conditioning
The black painted walls are depressing. The carpets are old and filthy. The beds are good. The front desk service was uncertain with regard to whether I paid ahead of time or not.
The hotel never returned my security deposit!!!!!!
The hotel did not return my security deposit. This is completely unacceptable.
Location is perfect, staff kind and attentive. My room in particular had seen better days. Very old carpet and a moldy bathroom (shower and light fixtures.) Bedding and towels crisp and clean!
Great staff. Rooms are quiet and clean. Beds comfy. Perfect for the stay.
the staff made my stay wonderful! everyone was so nice and kind and willing to help... DIEGO was excellent... I would recommend this hotel... Also location was easy to get to historical and touristic sites....
Excellent staff. Diego was extremely helpful in particular.
Great staff and location
Great staff and location.
Close to some restaurants but that is it.
Room was too cramped…
The staff particularly Daniela and Kevin were outstanding, pleasant, informative. As was the breakfast and housekeeping staff. There are no soap holders in the shower or sink. Minor point.
We stayed at this hotel at the beginning and end of our trip. On both stays the hotel was clean and the staff were wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for walking around exploring Santiago.
Perfect location for walking the city and dining options. Friendly staff. Very prompt response to email requests for airport pickup and driver to Valparaiso. Enjoyable breakfast. Phone never did work and ac turned off by itself
Great staff
All the staff were fantastic. They were helpful and attended to every need promptly. It is situated close to parks and restaurants. The rooms are fine for the price and the included breakfast was good.
Although located in a convenient location with walking distance to central part of the city, the rooms were pretty small, and quite dirty carpet. The elevator most of the time had garbage smell. However, the front desk staff were very helpful, the breakfast was excellent.

BEST KEPT SECRET IN SANTIAGO
IT WAS GREAT..... nice small hotel, people coulh not be friendlier ... srevice was great . vry freindly place to stay . THey help me with a tour right from the hotel ....car sevice from hotel to airport was on time . WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN
We truly enjoyed this hotel, recommended to us by a local friend. It was in a great location, and being across the street from the park gave us a beautiful view. The breakfast was so delicious, the selection of fruit was impressive and the service was very, very good.
Great location. Helpful staff. Great view from our window. We were checking out early and the staff bagged for us our breakfasts.
Loved It!!
Wonderful, beyond wonderful. In addition to a very comfortable room.....quiet, nicely designed...the people who work there...J and D....and all the others....including the front desk and cleaning staff....are incredible. Helpful, patient, friendly. And the breakfast was great. And...going out the back exit puts you right on a quiet street leading to the small handicraft market and delicious restaurants. We loved being there!! Thank you, J and D and everyone!!!
Given the inferior staff room
Stayed 2 nights at Ismael & was really dissapointed with our room on arrival. Air con didn't work, bathroom fan wouldnt switch off & more. Told next day we were given the staff rooms & not the room we booked despite this being available. But then told we couldn't have our original room as it was booked for the day after we were due to check out. Instead we were moved to another inferior staff room but one that had air con that worked. Staff member back tracked loads after telling us this & said legally the only difference was the fact our room had a balcony. Also said cos we booked through Hotels.com they wouldn't give us any compensation for a room that was shabby and clearly inferior. Hotels.com operator offered us a refund and then they back tracked too, saying it was the hotels issue. Really dissapointing end to our time in Chile. Stay elsewhere as they treat consolidateor bookings as second rate guests
Enticing and Charming Boutique Hotel
Great location. Staff very helpful. The breakfast each day very good and the personnel involved with breakfast was super. He explained all the dishes and went out of his way to be sure we had what we wanted at breakfast. A very pleasant stay in a boutique hotel. The atmosphere of the lobby and the breakfast room charming and enticing.
Great service. Lovely breakfast & very good transfer service to the airport.
Great Place
Excellent place to stay in Santiago. Super friendly staff.
Don't Book during Chilean protest
Santiago main protests in Chile are right next to the hotel. I was moved to a safer hotel and the hotel closed. Still, don't bother booking until the protests are over.
SM
Brilliantly helpful during our stay at times of civil unrest in Santiago. Reassured with updates and advised so problems in the streets impacted our stay as little as possible. The staff went out of their way to assist and Nothing was too much trouble for them. Highly recommended.
Great location, great hotel
An excellent Hotel with very friendly staff. Walking distance to everywhere around the city. Hotel had a good breakfast and have no problem recommending this hotel.
Lovely boutique hotel
Excellant location as lots to see within walking distance Breakfast lovely with omelettes to order Tea/coffee always available with small biscuits and fruit Quiet spot ! a haven from the traffic and noise of Santiago
Everything is good, staff, service, location, cleanness, breakfast, etc. Will come back again.
Second stay, still perfect
Staff is very friendly also offering us tips, and telling us to be careful of this and that. Breakfast has plenty of of choices. It is our second stay, but still perfect. Rooms are spacious and also quiet.
Well-located boutique hotel
Staff are very friendly, recommending on what's good around the city, but also around the hotel. This hotel is a boutique hotel offering homey feeling. The hotel is well located and offering quiet rooms.
Great Location an easy walking distance to many of the attraction Santiago has to offer
Stylish, great location, friendly staff, nice lobby for meeting people.
A hotel and work of art!
This is an excellent choice if you want to be at the center of the more historic and scenic sections of the city. The hotel itself is a work of art with fantastic murals, furniture designs and general atmosphere. The ten story lightwell with its humorous bright colored line drawings is an incredible achievement. The hotel is situated on a large quiet park also! Highly recommend
three days without wi-fi is a first world problem. but, for those of us that are on vacation but still have deadlines, it was problematic. the staff was embarrassed that the local internet company refused to work on the weekend in order to fix the problem, but they tried to accommodate with the usage of their own 'hot spots' and their personal cell phones. wi fi availability for travelers is equivalent to hot water in a shower-just is expected.
Best neighborhood , great restaurants. and the staff is amazing
Great hotel, bad in room wifi.
Great hotel, friendly staff, good location. No wifi access in room (even though there was supposed to be).
Great location, lovely staff and beautiful hotel with everything you need.
Hotel position is excellent. Only problem is there is no bar and no beer or any alcohol in the mini bar. Also whilst breakfast is good, no restaurant facilities after breakfast. But plenty around the hotel precinct.
Next to a beautiful park in the most charming bohemian area of Santiago. Fantastic selection fo cafes and restaurants 2 minutes walk away. All staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Would recommend and return in a heartbeat.
A little gem in Santiago!
Great location for Lastarria restaurants and bars but perfectly quiet. Friendly and helpful staff.
Wonderful location on Forestal Park. Great restaurants nearby. Lovely staff, biggest complaint was the room was small. Otherwise a great stay!
Great location to major sights!
Great location to restaurants and walking to major attractions. The staff were very personable and welcoming. Best part was hanging out drinking wine in the evening at the roof top pool over looking the park and San Cristóbal hill. Very peaceful. Lovely room. All good!
Great location for first time visit
Great location for a tourist visit and first time in santiago. Very friendly staff. Small but well equipped rooms. Funky lounge and breakfast area Close to major metro line on one side and another atvthe front. Near two care/ eating areas - Lasitaria and funky Bellavista
Really great room. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful
Convenient location, hospitable staff
I stayed here just one night after arriving from U.S. and before leaving for Patagonia. The room I stayed was small and very basic, but everyone at hotel was super-nice, friendly, accommodating, and hospitable. Also walking distance to many tourist attractions and Merced street where there is no shortage of restaurants, café, and ice cream shop.
The hotel could be very nice if maintained better. It was fairly expensive so I was expecting more.
Great location to see the real Santiago
The hotel is only five mins walk from the Plaza de Armas so it's central to everything. Really great stay. I was on the ninth floor so the water pressure was weak but water was hot once it warmed up. The floor coverings in the rooms are a bit scratchy but i believe they cater for dogs at the hotel which could be the reason. Oh, and the hotel is in the same block as one of their best ice creameries. Would definitely recommend and stay their again. Enjoy your stay!
Very nice ,clean and artistic hotel in a very great location. View of the park was a bonus . The staff are amazing , helpful and very courteously friendly. What else you can ask for . Definitely recommend this hotel . Viva Santiago!!
Great hotel in Santiago
This hotel was a really great find. The location was perfect. It was in a quiet area but yet was walking distance to all of the major attractions and the subway. My room was clean and comfortable. Pretty quiet. The shower was great. The staff at this hotel are wonderful. Everyone was polite, friendly and helpful. Especially all of the front desk people and all of the restaurant staff. The breakfast was great. U could order fresh cooked eggs (any style). This was a really great hotel.
Super nice hotel, excellent location
This hotel's staff has been the best so far in all of the hotels I have stayed at. They always had a smile, offered recomendations, maps etc. They were perfect! The hotel has a very nice look, very calming. The location was excellent, in front of a park and walking distance from points of interest. Also breakfast was included. There was only one issue for me, the noise from the street. My room was on the second floor overlooking Monjitas street and even with the window closed you can hear almost everything. Other than that, the hotel was perfect. I will be definitely be looking forward to staying at this hotel whenever I return!
Nice hotel
Nice, clean and spasious room! I chose the hotel cause I though the pool that looked nice would be heated. Should have checked that in advance.
Another great stay!
I have stayed at this hotel on 6 different trips to Santiago and each time it has been wonderful. I would recommend it equally for business or vacation. The location is fantastic, the views of the park are wonderful, and the staff are friendly and professional. And speak multiple languages.
Style and heart in a touch of green paradise
Super friendly team that do a great job to ensure your stay is a great one. Stylish hotel in a very good location, walking distance to many attractions and across the road from a huge and picturesque park. The breakfast I quite enjoyed each day. Although not a huge range, every thing was super tasty and there was enough to keep most people more than happy. The real plus is the wonderful staff, all of them were lovely and happy to help you enjoy your stay. If I go back to Santiago, I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. The only suggestion for minor improvement would be a bit more comfortable bed (but I'm super fussy - most people would be fine I'm sure)
Good location but pretty tardy service
Room was not thoroughly cleaned and water replenished during the stay. Reactive service staff and hardly any smile.
Great location, close to anything you would ever need for your stay. Hotel was excellent
Great location
Great weather Park activities Fantastic staff
No room!
We didn't stay at Hotel Ismael even though we had a confirmed reservation made 4 months earlier. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told they were "overbooked". They found us another hotel. This involved loading our bags back into a taxi and worrying about a tour pickup the next morning scheduled at the Hotel Ismael. Our tour worked out because the Magnolia Hotel staff helped us out. The attitude of the very young Ismael staff was very casual about denying us a confirmed room. I'm sure we would have had to pay if we hadn't shown up. In all our years of traveling, we have never had such an unprofessional incident at a recommended hotel.
Can't beat the location
Location is everything. The hotel is situated in the best location, next to the park and local restaurants. Felt very safe.
Incredibly welcoming, comfortable, convenient!
Our stay exceeded expectations. Outstandingly friendly helpful and engaged staff. Great breakfast and snack service. Far and away one of the nicest experiences in 30+ years of travel!
Hotel position excellent
Booking through expedia went without a problem, Reception staff were efficient and friendly, as were the staff in the dining area.
Modern minimal decor right on the park
The service was great. Breakfast was plentiful. Great location. Only two issues were that there was barely any room to move around the beds and there was some type of water damage to the floor outside of the bathroom. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this hotel!
Oasis in the center of the city.
We arrived and were met by an extremely friendly staff. The room was upgraded and we were given a free bottle of wine. Breakfast was tasty with a flexible time. Free coffee all day was great too. We were leaving xmas eve and given a late check out which was great.
Enjoyed it very much
Great location, happy staff
Service excellent, staff always smiling & very helpful.Great breakfast, lovely quirky contemporary hotel
This is a fantastic hotel in a great location. Easy walking distance to everything. Safe neighbourhood. Staff were wonderful, in particular, the cuban gentleman at the front desk who really went out of his way to assist us. He made our stay so much more enjoyable. Room was small but comfy. Nice views out the the mountains. Would highly recommend staying here!
Modern botique hotel
This is a very modern botique hotel in the city central area. All the staff spoke English. We arrived very early from the US and they kept our bags until check in several hours later. They were very accommodating to our needs. The room is small but functional. Reminds me of hotel indigo in the states. This is a great hotel for foreign travelers. They provided a map of the area and you can walk everywhere. Lots to do downtown. Close to the Metro all though we did not take it. You feel safe walking around at night in this neighborhood.
Americans visiting give 5 stars!
Hotel was just what we wanted. Bryan made us feel right at home and his service made our stay especially memorable. Great location, clean, modern, no fuss and a great staff. Thank you Hotel Ismael an especially Bryan!
As advertised
Great! Not a bad location walking distance to many venues including Bellavista bohemian night Scene as well as Plaza del Armas, museums and others. the local park is directly across the street. staff friendly and helpful. I would recommend to others for sure!
friendly, well located hotel
the reception guys at Ishmael made our stay here. they were incredibly friendly, helpful and genuinely just wanted to make our stay as good and stress free as possible (we had lost luggage issues and they couldn't have been more helpful). the rooms were clean, bed comfy, shower great and rooftop pool area great for relaxing in the sun or with a glass of wine in the evening. They also let you have the included breakfast at whatever time you want each day - which for someone who likes to lie in was ideal ;) all in all is definitely recommend this hotel.
Super cool boutique hotel in the perfect location
We LOVED Santiago and a big part of the reason for this is because we stayed at Hotel Ismael. It's a super cool boutique hotel in the perfect location...super close to everything. They had an awesome breakfast that you could eat at any time of the day, which is super convenient. Highly recommended!
Super location
Really great location, central to sights, good restaurants, etc. Very comfortable. Good breakfast. Great park across street. Highly recommend.
Quirky hotel in Great location
This hotel caught my attention on-line when we were looking for accommodation in Santiago because of its modern, yet quirky decor. When we arrived, it certainly lived up to expectation. The hotel felt fresh and clean with a dark, but modern decor. The reception area is comfortable and welcoming. Reception was busy, so it did take a bit of time to check-in, but this was only a minor issue. The room was spacious with modern decor, and a door out to a small balcony overlooking the street. Our room faced the street behind rather than the park on the other side, but there was no noise issue from the street. We had dinner at a local restaurant, which was very nice, but ate breakfast at the hotel (included in the room rate). Breakfast was a little confusing as the restaurant was also open to the public wanting to come in for breakfast. Our limited Spanish didn't help, but we managed to determine that we just had to sign the docket at the end of the meal with our room number, but there was no additional charge. We really enjoyed our stay here and would return should we ever come back to Santiago.
A jewel
Just keep this place as it. A perfect small hotel for those looking for a personalized designed stay. Great boutique hotel.
Santiago, Chile
2 days here which gave us a nice intro to the city. the staff was helpful and spoke English. nice finish to our trip-----it was hard to leave.
Great hotel and location
My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights at the end of a cruise. We have traveled a lot and are pretty fussy about the hotels we stay in. This is a European style, boutique hotel in the heart of Santiago. Located facing a large park, it is in a quiet area and within easy walking distance of most of the major attractions in Santiago and a multitude of restaurants. The staff are all exceptionally friendly, reliable and accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble and they all speak English. We will return to Santiago, which is a great city, and we will stay at Hotel Ismael 312.
a nice hotel in a great location
In Santiago, the location of the hotel overlooking central park can't get any better. It's quiet and relaxing with only a few cars passing by even on a busy day, and only a short walk away from everything you want to see or eat in this city. The staff was attentive, friendly, and kind. The bed was comfortable. Free coffee throughout the day.
Good central hotel close to restaurants and safe area. Only stayed one night but met our needs.
All good day stay a plus
All good we added a day stay which worked we'll staff very friendly when leaving etc.
Great hotel fabulous staff
This is a great place to stay for a visit to Santiago. Location is great and you can walk everywhere. The hotel is small and has a lovely feel to it. The staff are incredibly helpful. Would recommend staying here and would do again if in Santiago. Bed is comfortable and sheets are especially good.
Very convenient location
Arrangements for pick-up and drop-off, made through the hotel, worked out very well.. Driver with name sign was at the airport to meet the flight. Hotel staff were very helpful and responsive. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfasts (included) were excellent. The hotel is well located for sightseeing. Walking distance to all of the downtown sights, museums, Cerro Sta Lucia, Cerro San Cristobal, Casa Pablo Neruda and the Bellavista Patio for shopping and dining. Also convenient to to subway trains.
True boutique hotel
We were only staying in Ismael for one night, but wish it could have been longer. The hotel is beautiful, staff extremely helpful - service really stands out. All day breakfast and coffee in the lounge a lovely touch. Wonderful toiletries and a very comfy bed & pillows. Great restaurants within walking distance.
Great location, easy to walk to all the main sites. The room is a bit tight but adequate. Breakfast, which they let you take any time during the day is excellent. Our room had an issue with the plumbing which made it smell bad when we came back to the room...but it would go away once the AC was on for 10-15 min, only reason why they did not get 5 stars. Would stay there again any time if we return to Santiago. Considered going to a nicer hotel called The Singular which is actually one block away and double the price...glad we stayed at Ismael as it was very nice, smaller, modern and with excellent service for a much better value
Great hotel, well located
Staff was very attentive and helpful. Main areas were well appointed. Breakfast was great. Rooms are a bit small, but adequate. We loved the location - easy access to the older areas (although a hike to the more modern shopping district if that's of interest).
Nice Hotel ,ideal location, good value
Staff was extremely helpful, we got a free upgrade and could use the room on check out date until 7pm. free of charge. Breakfast was so good, we could order anything from the menu, so it was a great experience staying at this Hotel, Heaps of thanks
Comfortable modern hotel
Great, modern hotel. We felt extremely comfortable, location was perfect, bed was a cloud, and the bathroom was amazing. Wish we had spent more time here!
Great location value plus friendly staff
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel overlooking the park and below San Cristabal Hill. Everything was close by and easy to walk to. Highly recommended staff friendly and fluent in English Breakfast great with helpful staff
This hotel is a must!
The hotel and staff were topnotch! Even before we arrived, the superb customer service began. The hotel arranged for a car service from the airport. Friendly, eager to please people throughout. We HIGHLY recommend!
Perfect place
Great hotel Nice people superb service Great breakfast concept Good coffee but maybe in future Pelican Rouge coffee :-)
Comfortable accomodation in a trendy area
The hotel is location in a nice part of the city - in close proximity to a number of nice wine bars and other good places to eat. The room was nice and fairly quiet. One peculiarity with the hotel is the breakfast. There is no buffet. It is a la carte. There is a very short menu and you pick what you want and wait for it to be made. Then when you sign for the food they ask for a tip. I think it's bit rich to request this from hotel guests that are paying a fairly high rate for accomodation already. Other than this it was a pleasant stay.
Great stay!
Great hotel. Friendly staff. Central location.
Stylish hotel close to lively neighbourhood
Hotel is stylish and everything looks new. Room was comfortable and the balcony to the park was lovely. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is served all day, you can order from a menu and it's all included. Coffee and sandwich were nice. Fruit salad and toast didn't convince. All in all a nice place to stay.
Muy atento el personal
