Rooms not sound proof at all so could hear everything going on, great location friendly staff comfy bed
Has seen better days
For tourism purposes location was great, right beside the Duomo complex but nothing much in the area staying open for food and drink. Had a ‚superior‘ room so heaven knows what standard offered - aircon didn‘t work, TV didn’t work, decor old and shabby; breakfast room and terrace but no breakfast (supposedly included) though little bakery next door was good. The rooms themselves were really clean and the housekeeping staff were friendly and cheery. Not cheap for a run-down place with no facilities and better value to be had elsewhere in Pisa.
The area around the hotel is very noisy early in the morning. The room was very small. The hotel is fine for a short stay.
The room was unfortunately not as clean as we would have expected. Incredible location though
The hotel is in need of renovation. The location is superb for the Tower but much more could be made of the roof terrace. The rooms are dated, no air con so very warm, lots of mosquitos which isn't the hotels fault but air con would help. The rooms are clean but really need new furniture. The terrace was open, but no facilities for a drink, seems the breakfast area isn't in use. Overall, it did us for 1 night but I wouldn't stay again unless there is a major refurb.
Worn out hotel, overpriced
Location is good, right by the Tower. Hotel is a dump- in ‚superior‘ room neither aircon nor TV worked. No breakfast or bar facilities but good bakery next door, unfortunately closing early evening. Lovely, friendly cleaning staff who left the rooms spotlessly clean. It was just a base so hotel only for sleeping but could have had better value elsewhere.
It’s dirty
Ok I loved absolutely loved the fact that it was seconds away from the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The room was very small not to many extra amenities.
Do not stay here
This place was horrible. Do not stay here. I booked before reading the reviews, which I normally don’t do. When I arrived I encountered an extremely unpleasant and rude front desk clerk. The hotel was shabby and dirty; in a sketchy part of town. Although my reservation was non-refundable, I chose not to stay. I would have rather slept in the car. Chalk it up as a loss. Oh well.
For one night is okay. The city es very unsafe. Teenagers are trying to pick pockets at the station. Hotel doesn’t have elevator and it’s hard go up and up with luggage
Description was fake the giardino pictures are fakes not parking for the check-in
A perfect location in Pisa
A perfect location in Pisa, a few steps from the Piazza dei Miracoli with il Duomo, il Battistero and of course la famosa Torre Pendente! Also steps from the bus stop for the 1+ autobus for the city centre and La Stazione Centrale. This is a no frills hotel but it represents great value for money. My single room on the second floor (no lift) was fine, with a comfortable bed, good aircon, fridge, wardrobe and en-suite bathroom with shower. Fresh towels were provided daily. Nice terrace to relax away from the crowds outside, with a view towards the Mura di Pisa and the dome of il Battistero di San Giovanni. Perfetto!
Shower didnt work properly i had to fox the pipe! Plug socket on the wall had fallen off with bare wires exposed someone could have had an injury, bedding needed washing and barely any staff to raise ant issues. Only good point prime location if it wasnt for a one night stay and this i wpuld be asking for money back
Worst property I have been to in a long time. Air conditioning doesn’t work in any of the rooms as it barely blows any cool air. The sheets had holes in them and the furniture is from the 80s. The location is great but that is the only good thing about this hotel. Definitely not a three star hotel and definitely do not stay here in the summer.

Terrible
it was awful, we left early one day ago
This is a terrible plaxe to stay. Staff is hostile, rooms are hot wih no windows. Not worth the money. I actually checked but could couldn't stay. Lost my money on the booking but had to get out of there. Expedia should not offer this place. I trusted that it would be good. It is not!
We have been all over Italy. But we had the best sleep at this hotel . The beds are so comfy you sleep all night.
Go somewhere else
Unfriendly staff, very dirty room, evrrything was falling apart. The door was thin as cardboard and the room was supernoisy. The location is great but it is not worth the downsides
The staff is helpful. Need to tell them if you are going to late check-in. Superior Single is good for single traveler but not Basic Single room for myself
It worked for the night
The room was fine for the night but the shower had lots of mold. We dod not use it because of that. The smell of the mold went into the room if the door to the bathroom wasn’t shut. The bed was fine. We did have AC. The best part was it’s location- right next to the leaning tower!
Decrepit establishment
The only positive for this hotel is that it's conveniently located next to the tower of Pisa. Otherwise, it looks like it's a converted old war hospital, thin walls, overpriced, with uncomfortable and small beds, dark and uninviting.
Very close to Leaning Tower of Pisa and food places
Great location only a few minutes away from the Leaning Tower. Friendly staff. Basic hotel would suit anyone wanting to explore Pisa.
The property is very close to pisa tower The property is a bit tired and needs updating
This is hell, I’d rather have stayed in a prison
The worst hotel I’ve ever had the displeasure to stay in. Constant noise both outside the hotel and instead de it with doors crashing and other inmates shouting.
Good for solo travellers. Convenient location to the tower. Reasonable pricing. Staff availability was good.
Average room, good staff, less than a minute walk to the leaning tower.
Good, close pisa tower
Staff was very polite and professional. If you walk out the door of the hotel, the arch entrance to the leaning tower were just a few steps away..
You are about 30 seconds walk from the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Staff were super friendly and the room was ready early. I was able to leave my bags when I checked out so I didn't have to walk with them before my flight.
Great hotel
The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was small. Close to attractions.
It suited our needs for a stop over on our journey. Near to market, restaurants and tower of pisa. Beds were excellant, room clean.
Staff were very helpful. Room small but quite adequate for a brief stay. Excellent location 50 metres from the Campo dei miracoli.
The staff is rude. No elavator, have mosquitoes inside the room. But the location is very good.
Nothing against the staff they are working with what they have. First the pictures on the site are nothing like what it actually looks like. We booked a full bed sized room. The bed was fine. But there was no space at all in the room we had 2 backpacks and 1 luggage and that was difficult to walk around next the bathroom is tiny. There was no space in there either. And lastly there was no AC. It was a midsized unit that turned on but just could not blow out cold air it just kept blowing out the air at room temperature. When asked if we could change rooms the front desk said they were all sold out. Husband and I woke up many times through out the night we just couldn’t get a comfortable sleep because we woke up many times covered in sweat.
Very close to the leaning tower. Beds were comfortable, staff were helpful. Perfect hotel if you are just looking for a bed and a shower after a long day exploring itsly.
Great location. Basic room but okay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Could do with modernising / upgrade but you get what you pay for. Overall good.
We stayed for 3 nights, the best part is it’s just few steps away from the Leaning Tower.Lots of food dining choices around the area and bus stops are also very close. If you want a fancy hotel this is not the place for you.Our room was just above the front entrance of the hotel and the cigarette smell gets into our room from below that has all the souvenir shops were and outdoor dining is and a lot of people smokes.During early morning smell from the toilet/sewage is all over our room.Fridge and AC was not working too. They have to check the rooms before they have somebody stay in there.Overall it was just ok if you have a lot of patience with all this issues.
This is really close to the sights, Sheets, towels, and room was clean. Front desk was staffed early and late and spoke English. There was a bunch of street vendors right below the hotel. I was alone so it worked for me, but would not bring my misses here.
Good location, but no fridge no hot water. No light.
Staff was helpful. But septic tank was overflowing right in front of the hotel door. You had to jump not to step on it. Smell was terrible all over the hotel. Mosquitos inside our room.
Good location but run down. Bare minimum
Super location, very basic hotel room. The outdoor patio was a nice option to have our own coffee and breakfast on and was quiet for the location.
Small hotel. Good location. Nice staff.
Very basic hotel but the beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. Its also a brilliant location, close to the tower and lots of restaurants. Its also opposite a bus stop which takes you to where the shops are and Pisa Central. Taxis are pretty much impossible to get in Pisa town centre but the bus links and train lines are cheap and convenient Good quality for money.
LOCATION LOCATION
This hotel is right outside the wall surrounding the Pisa Tower (and other landmarks). We were able to take pics at night, when the crowds were low. A few steps further, we dined at Antonetta's--it was exquisite. Hotel staff helpful and friendly. Rooftop terrace, precious with delightful views. You won't find a better location than this hotel.
No problems & nothing special - you get what you pay for.
It was close to the tower/museums but not in the best shape. Could not use the AC unless IN the room. Had to put your key card in a slot to activate electricity in the room.
Optimal location and good value
The hotel is extremely well located. Just a 15-20 walk to the train station, and a block off of the city’s main thoroughfare. The area is full of restaurants and shops. The rooms are very clean, a bit spartan, but value for your money and again the location make up for it. Great for a 2-3 stay.
Decent no frills hotel located next to the Piazza del Duomo. First floor walk up rooms. Poorly lit rooms, had to inquire about adding extra light bulbs for the ceiling fixture. No second room card is issued to multiple guests.
The hotel is in a bustling market area and only a 500 metre walk away from the Leaning Tower. My room was serviced daily. For an independent traveller it proved to be an excellent base for visits to Florence and Siena. There's a cafe/ bakery nearby for breakfasts.
Excelent location.
It’s ONLY Pro is that it is steps away from The Leaning Tower!
Everything was perfect. Can improve the appearance of the lobby and open kitchen area. The location is great.
This is a good spot to be if you want to be near the leaning tower, and you don't mind the tourist souvenir shops being right outside your front door. I was staying here for a few weeks for work, and probably would have chosen somewhere else to stay for the reason that I had to cross through the crowds multiple times every day. If you're here for a quick trip and want a location near the tower, this is a good spot. On different notes, the staff was very kind, friendly, and welcoming. I didn't get the room that was pictured in my purchase, but the room itself was comfortable enough. One nice thing about the location is that being at the north end of the city, it is easy enough to walk around the north side of the city wall, which was an enjoyable escape from the masses of tourists. There is a nice balcony in the back of the hotel as well, which I ought to have made more use of for relaxing in the evening.
The hotel itself is ok, the location is excellent very near to Pisa tower, but the air conditioning is terrible.
Very good
Best location, competent staff.
The room smelled like sewage all night, it was absolutely disgusting and the shower would flood as well.
Hyvä valinta lyhyeen vierailuun
Loistava sijainti. Rauhallinen. Ainoa miinus oli suihkun vesi, jota ei saanut lämpimäksi
This place was dirty and smelled, it was so hot you were sweating within 2 minutes and if you opened patio you had people just walking into your room even if your in bathroom
best deal in town
I was there only one night but everything about the hotel impressed me. The staff was incredibly friendly, the place was simple but clean, comfortable and everything worked as it was supposed to. The room was the right size for one or even a younger couple, the best part: about 25 meters from the wall where all the museums and the tower is. I will use it again!
Great service and availability. Great location.
Beds were comfortable, however not updated and needed a deep clean. Rooms were dark and ac not great. Location is what this place has going for it. The coffee shop on the corner is so cute and a must. You are just steps away from Pisa so a car is not necessary since you have all The restaurants and attractions so close. Trying to get a taxi to take us to train station was impossible. We jumped on bus which was right in front of hotel.
Everything Awful! Except amazing location.
Amazing Location! Everything else awful! Extremely rude staff! No hot water, Air Con practically non/existant! Banging right outside room morning and night as laying new flooring down on 1st floor. Paper thin walls. Not worth £130 per night.
Excellent location close to Pisa tower.
Rigtig god oplevelse
Fantastisk venligt, imødekommende og venligt personale.
Great location. Just a short walk to the tower. Hotel is old and needs updating
Convenient hotel, perfect location
Travelling alone and felt safe throughout, room was a little worn but comfortable bed and right next to the attractions, with a cute market right outside. Not the nicest hotel I've stayed in but can't grumble at all for the price!
Let’s be honest
Great location and kind staff but too expensive for what you get. It’s old and the shower was too small and the most annoying thing was that we couldn’t flush so we had to fill the garbage can with water and pour in the toilet which was embarrassing since we had to solve the problem together, it was a mess and we will never forget that experience!
The property was very old but very clean. The location was great. It is located next to a bus stop, near a laundry and grocery store. It is a less than a two minute walk to the Leaning Tower of Pisa with great restaurants everywhere. The staff was great and very helpful and accommodating.
Wonderful staff. Great location, Pisa Tower is around the corner!
Location was ideal, Rooms needed updating Although clean and comfortable
Recommend for Female solo travellers
Receptionist was a real doll. Really helpful and friendly. The rooms are small but the location is amazing. The location is fabulous. The shower was too small. I still showered but was a squeeze. Right next to tower. Train station and clean. Also the beds are really comfortable.
The room was very small, but clean and everything I needed was there. The location is amazing, a two minute walk from the duomo and leaning tower.
Room was big and people kind. However, it was almost impossible sleeping in a room without a proper heating. It was very cold, eapecially in the morning when they switched off the central heating, I guess. Shower was a bit dirty, mold in walls and ceiling and bad smell as well. Also, the garden is kinda fake. What's the point? Maybe, if it wasn't for the heating, it would have been good value for the money, afterall. Sorry but I am very disappointed.
Great location a few minutes walk from leaning Tower
Perfect location! Could not get any better. View from room onto market at front of hotel was lovely. Room could have been cleaner but not filthy and unbearable. Not hotels fault but big street cleaner at 6am and delivery’s not ideal as it did wake us up. Water in shower took ages to heat up but did eventually. Breakfast was included and although not a huge choice was adequate and nice. We sat on the terrace which was lovely with the cathedral in the background.
We had a really bad nights sleep the first night, no fault of the hotel because our bedroom was at the front of the hotel, which is where the markets start early. The next morning I made the staff aware of this and asked if there were any other rooms available and made them aware i was willing to pay. When they checked a better room was available, where noise wasnt a problem and I was upgraded free of charge. I was scared after I booked and read reviews about this place, but my experience was so good, so I had to write this review. I think it just shows that the staff will do what they can and i guess it does depend on availability and we were lucky. Yes, the place does need refurbishing but so do a lot of other places in the area and it wasn’t bad value for money at all. Location is perfect for the sights.
Clean room, nice breakfast. Helpful staff. No complaints
Super convenient as is next to the leaning tower and clean , nice breakfast
Very close proximity to all attractions. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bed.
Great location adjacent to entrance to Leaning Tower. Also a lovely roof garden. But that's all. Everything else is not good. Tiny old room, cracked shower tray that overflowed and tiny old air con unit that barely worked. The temperature in our room never went below 28 degrees. Eventually we were given a fan but this just pushed around the hot stuffy air and didn't reduce the temperature. It was so bad we barely slept and I was considering paying for another hotel. I can't recommend this hotel at all. It is an old tired building that needs totally refurbishing. Breakfast was basic but ok. The cereal dispenser was held together by masking tape and this kind of sums up the hotel generally. One member of staff on check in and check out days was lovely. The other two staff were off and rude, spoke little English and one laughed in my face when I said the room was still very hot with the fan and control panel still said 28 degrees. As a woman with two children on our own I felt quite intimidated. This hotel room really spoilt our holiday. It's the worst I've stayed in and not up to usual Expedia standards
An enjoyable stay
My girlfriend and I arrived at Hotel Il Giardino and we were pleasantly surprised, the receptionist at the front desk as friendly and helpful, we checked into our room to find that it was rather small, and the bathroom was a bit dirty especially the floor of the shower area was peeling away, however we enjoyed our stay here, the best part is The Leaning Tower of Pisa is just five minutes walk from the hotel, literally just 400 metres, it was lovely sitting down at The Square of Miracles, the breakfast provided is adequate however I would suggest that they expand their breakfast menu, I liked the outdoor seating as well. Overall we both enjoyed our stay at Hotel Il Giardino and if we do visit Pisa in the near future we would come back again, we would recommend this hotel.
Pisa
We just spent one night. Smallest room ever. But the location was great. Could walk everywhere. The convenience was worth it.
The hotel is close to Pisa leaning tower, and during my stay the room was cleaned every day. On the other hand, there was no internet connection, no bar, no air conditioning, and the toilet was leaking during the last day of my reservation. The service was poor, not even close to 3 stars hotel standards.
It’s next to leaning towers and Piazza dei Miracoli
Clean and very good lication just 5 minutes walk to lean tower, but very small room, is not the one you see in orbitz advertising, there are window, no elevator and breakfast is no more than a coffee, juice and crosant
Super location
Everything went great, service was good, breakfast was nice, but the morning when we had to check out the pipes broke and we could not shower. I know that is not their fault, but it was a little minus to the whole trip which was really great, and right beside the tower and church.
Okay for one night
On the plus side the hotel is close to Tower and the bed was very comfortable but theroom was small with no window and very basic, the breakfast was adequate.it is situated over a Macdonalds.
Kind and helpful syaff got us to our room very fast. We needed and extra blanket and they helped with that.
Nice hotel. only problem was did not have a lift or someone to help with suitcase up to room. Their English was ok. very helpful with travel advice. Right next door practically to Pisa Tower etc.
Very small room - big bed Not much room for luggage . Close to everything three mins to leaning tower and cathedral. Hotel provided private taxi to station . Very attractive receptionist . No lift . Coffee available on request ..free .
It was excellent location wise
