Beautiful Property…

The property is great and the rooms are very nice. Average staff. Dinner average. Below average breakfast.

I enjoyed the quiet and gorgeous experience of this place. I was very excited about the food at their restaurant, however it didn’t fully commit to great. Not sure if there’s new mgt with the kitchen, but I think me being honest may help. I can only hope. However the employees, property and cleanliness is superb. The bed is extremely comfy. Stay here!

We've stayed at Hotel Hartness since its opening. It's just lovely! The only thing missing on this trip were the macarons and pecans in our room.

Very nice quiet hotel. Super clean. Fine dining restaurant superb.

Loved the hotel. Rooms were spotless. Quiet. Heat and air work amazing. Shower was incredible. Hot water and amazing water pressure. Only reason I can’t give it 5 stars was the parking lot was dark at night and I expected a little better breakfast than powdered eggs and cookie cutter sausage. Will definitely keep this hidden jem of a retreat on the radar for the future.

I have been traveling to the Clemson/Greenville area for over 20 years, and this is the first time I have stayed in a hotel with this level of service, quality, and beauty. This will be our new place to stay when traveling to SC. Stunning.

We were given a wheelchair accessible room . . . #123. There wasn't enough drawer space for things, since we always unpack suitcases.

Absolutely beautiful and perfect overall stay,

We booked this property for a big birthday milestone a month in advance and drove more than 3 hours with my two daughters to experience this particular niche hotel and spa. Then they didn’t give us a room. They did find us a basic room in a chain hotel 25 minutes away with no spa. There were plenty of people in line behind us, somehow they got a room. The manager wouldn’t come and talk to us, just made the assistant manager do the work. I’d recommend a back up plan.

Hotel Hartness is one of the best hotels we have stayed at. It was extremely clean, quiet, and positively beautiful! The staff was all wonderful! We will stay here again!

Beautiful grounds, comfortable rooms with plugs and USB ports right by the beds (for our various electronics (amazing how many hotels don’t provide these). Staff are all friendly and efficient. The Captain Bar was a cozy place to enjoy a cocktail followed by an amazing meal at Patterson’s. It’s a farm-to-table restaurant and we enjoyed our choices even though we had options we normally wouldn’t have taken. The only thing we wished we had was a wall safe in the room.

It was a pleasant stay, we had an amazing time especially dining at the Patterson .

Quiet and comfortable.

We stopped here overnight on our way from Charlotte to Hilton Head since it had been recommended by Travel & Leisure and it was worth the detour. The hotel itself seems brand new and had so many nice features - bikes to take out on trails, hiking trails, amenities in the room, etc. We changed our dinner plans when we saw the restaurant there- Pattersons was lovely and the food was great. Walking around the property after dinner was so lovely. My husband loved his massage and said it was amazing so we will be back.

Hotel Hartness is my favorite hotel in the South! It is perfect.

Overnight trip to Greenville

This place is a hidden gem. We came right after a hurricane had hit and they still gave excellent service and property was heavily. We will definitely be going back in the near future

Absolutely amazing. The trails are awesome and the staff is the best. Even offered us bottled water after our walk as we returned to the hotel.

We have stayed here before. A great boutique hotel. Because of the Hurricane there was no internet or TV. I would have like to have them offer a discount for this stay or another stay.

Service was amazing! My friend and I enjoyed our stay and decided one night was not enough to enjoy this hotel. We went for some R&R! I will surely return. Breakfast outside was peaceful. Check-in was seamless. The property is clean and top quality.

The property is gorgeous and secluded. Felt so welcomed and safe. I’ve been to boutique hotels before, but this one is on another level. Already planning another trip back just to stay longer and enjoy all of the amenities the property has to offer!

Property is lovely. Close enough to Greenville to feel close but far enough to feel away. Walking trails are great. Rooms are small but adequate. The highlight of this property for me is Patterson Kitchen. Only restaurant I have ever been to where our entire party said “That meal was the best I have ever had”. Great flavors, Great Service.

A hidden Gem

Always a great experience at the Hartness Hotel. Great beds, amenities and quiet and peaceful surroundings.

Very accommodating, very friendly, and clean we enjoyed our stay would definitely recommend it & stay again.

The hotel is clean, comfortable and relaxing. The pool bar staff person was wonderful as were the folks at check-in and the Patterson. The staff at the hotel bar were very nice but the service was extremely slow. We waited forever for minor things and had piles of empty dishes for 20 minutes after dinner, then waited 40 minutes for the home baked cookies. We were in town for a sporting event and needed ice on several occasions and were surprised that there was no ice machine. The breakfast staff was kind and fetched it each morning but were clearly overwhelmed and not happy to have to stop their breakfast work to go get ice. An ice machine available to guests would be good. Overall, we truly loved our stay and would start there again when in the area.

Everything was impeccable! Loved our stay and will comeback if we ever in this area.

Service Failure

The area is new, clean and generally nice. The hotel service was horrific. They gave us a room that was already occupied. They didn't believe us so we went back and forth to the front desk out to prove our situation. This clearly creates a safety concern because what would have happen if the person was in the room when I entered. They provided no remorse or compensation for what was a clear failure of their ability to manage their inventory. From the pool, front desk and breakfest they were completely understaffed. One person in each space for a busy hotel. Clear management issues. I unfortunately would not recommend this otherwise beautiful hotel because does matter and they don't have it right.

Beautiful hotel with wonderful service and gorgeous grounds. The staff were kind and attentive to making our stay perfect. The in room espresso machine was a great addition. Can’t wait to stay again!

Beautiful boutique hotel that felt very comfortable. Wish we had brought our swim suits and exercise clothes to walk their trails.

Customer service and then some!

From the moment I stepped in the door, their customer service was top notch. I appreciated the enthusiasm, professionalism and respect that the front desk attendant showed me. But it didn’t stop there, every single person I passed in the hall said hello and made eye contact. Everything was immaculately clean, the restaurant was delicious and our server attentive. The room was prepared with all of the towels & toiletries needed; I didn’t have to request anything like so many other hotels. The breakfast was simple but everything was top quality. I appreciated that the mixed fruit bowl included strawberries and blueberries, not just cantaloupe and honeydew. My small group was able to have our business meeting right in the lobby and no one bothered us. I would have liked to stay here for a week. It was lovely; I hope they don’t change a thing.

Love this place!

Beautiful hotel! I wish the restaurant was opened Sundays as we didn’t get to enjoy it during our one night stay. Also loved the Tiki bar option at pool. Adding some background music to the pool area would be a good idea though!
