The property is right across from the Adriatic sea, making it very convenient to go to the water. It is in a very good location with mini restaurants, restaurants and shopping around. The entire hotel had a slight smell. I think cleaning the carpets which are everywhere in the hotel would help immensely with that.
Close to beach, shopping, and restaurants. Excellent location
Great stay
Very clean in great location… building is a little tired but clean
Centrally located and convenient, within walking distance from the beach and all amenities. The Hotel is a memory of the old days but it kept its character. I had a beautiful experience. That was my 3rd time and will visit again.
Extremely Small Shower Stall
The smallest shower stall I have ever seen in my life. I barely fit in there. if I dropped the soap, I had to open the doors to be able to bend down to pick it up because there is no room. If you're a larger person, you're going to have a problem fitting in this shower. Perfect location. Excellent breakfast buffet and rooftop Terrace with amazing views.
Great hotel and great location
very close to the beach.
Great proximity to the beach. High ceilings in room. Stately property.
Excellent location on beach.
Great service but the building is a bit tired
We have been staying at this hotel for years, we enjoy the location mainly. It's a great hotel but is now a bit tired and needs a general uplift in the rooms - the shower was very small and restricts movement.
The location is just PERFECT, The sea view that some rooms have is amazing and the restaurant is great too. The employees are very nice and helpful. I definitely will come back
Property well located on the beach of pescara with very large choice of restaurants . Room is large and very functional.outside hotel unfortunately is showing his age with part of the plaster of the facade falling off. Only negative is the breakfast buffet. Not a lot of choice…
Great location ! Friendly and helpful staff.
Best stay
The hotel was perfect and location was on point. Definitely will stay there again
Seaside hotel
Nice hotel. Alittle dated but the staff was wonderful!!! Pay the small charge for a view upgrade, it’s worth it. Right across the street from the beach, lots of restaurants nearby.
Air condition not working
Parking is a problem
Great location, right on the beach
We had been traveling from Venice with another big travel day to follow so we stayed here for just one night. A great value for the cost. It is an old hotel with a bit of funkiness but for us it was perfect…. Right on the beach, lots of restaurants and shopping right there and a great Spritz and happy hour restaurant with a beautiful sea view on the roof top. Thanks!
Great location, beautiful old hotel that has the prime center location across from small park and beach center access, great sea view from room, rooftop breakfast good and fantastic view,
Old building and classy. That’s what I liked about it. A step back into the history of Pescara. Across from the beach. Worked for us. We loved it. Has a rooftop restaurant and bar. We walked the promenade and had many eating and shopping options
Nice hotel, it’s an old hotel. AC didn’t work too well, rooms are tired, but the pride is right. Great location.
Excellent location accross the street from the beach. Staff were excellent, very responsive to requests for extra towels and pillows. Room appeared a bit dated and would suggest updating the matress!
Great location
The hotel is in a great location for the beach and central areas. It was clean and comfortable and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is a little tired around the edges though. We did have one problem of non or intermittent hot water but we were transferred to another room the next day. The restaurant food is excellent with great views but watch out for the 5euro per person service charge and ask the price of the wine first before ordering or you might get a surprise like we did. Get the wine list, its as thick as a bible. All good and we would stay again :)
The hotel was very close to the beach. Excellent sea views. Beautiful roof-top restaurant. Staff is friendly and helpful. They speak several languages. No negatives.
The location and overall accommodations
Lovely staff and location
Very nice staff in reception helped us with everything, including the hotel parking right outside the entrance. Service was tip-top during the whole stay. The room was great with a beautiful view over the Pescara beach. Location is ten out of ten. Air-condition was easy to manage - which is very unusual in hotels. The room definitely exceeded our expectations given the very affordable price. And the nice and helpful staff made our stay in Pescara a great experience.
Beautiful building right on the beach! Air conditioned which is important in the summer. Many beach restaurants nearby!
The roof terrace and breakfast was amazing. The staff were happy very helpful just really nice.
Very poor condition room
The building, corridors and bathrooms have seen better days. But the rooms were nice and classy.
Good location and clean hotel, room was too hot AC did not work properly, and breakfast was not good...
Friendly staff and excellent location. The rooftop restaurant offers spectacular views.
The location is wonderful. The shower is very small.
Great location; in fact there is no better location in Pescara that being close to the riviera and to the core center. But a bit outdated in terms of amenities. Staff is great!
My fourth time back and the experience is always excellent!
A bit tired, but a nice hotel in Pescara.
Excellent location right on the beach, lots of shopping and great restaurants. Rooms are a bit dated/tired, but comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfasts ok, not great.
Very traditional hotel set in a perfect location. Staff are always friendly and extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
Perfect location
The staff are very attentive and super accommodating. Can't beat the location.
Just across the road from the beautiful white sands of Pescara. Th hotel is exactly what she claims to be - an aging gentlewoman. Plenty of older features including the decor, but perfectly comfortable. Breakfast was adequate but not really Italian in nature. The front desk staff were not particularly warm but efficient enough.
Location was great and so was Rooftop terrace. Furnishings and finishes were very dated. Bed was uncomfortable. Mold in bathroom.
The staff is friendly and very accommodating and the location is outstanding!
Great position and very friendly staff this is the second time I have stayed
VERY NICE HOTEL GREAT POSITION AND GREAT IF YOU LIKE THE BEACH SECOND TIME WE HAVE STAYED THERE
The hotel location, central and near the beach
Close to beach, restaurants, shops and promenade. The staff attitude was very disappointing, not once over a 6 days stay I was addressed by my name. The reception staff in particular were too busy talking about among other thinks other than acknowledging the guests. There was mildew in the bathroom walls. Very noisy at night due to beach concerts. Views from the rooftop restaurant excellent, only spoiled by the breakfast content. Tinned fruit served in the middle of the summer in Italy!!! what a shame. I would not recommend this hotel due mainly the uncaring attitude of the staff.
Beautiful hotel close to all of the summer action. Beach and restaurants lovely
Disappointing
Had high hopes after hearing from locals that this is their best. Shower door is so bad that a simple shower turned the floor and carpet into a slip hazard/huge puddle. The side that isn’t blocked by the door sprayed water all over the toilet and floor too. Completely outdated and seats need to be reupholstered. Had DO NOT DISTURB on the door but maid still entered while we were out, but nothing was missing and jewelry was on the table. Breakfast was nice, view is perfect, lack of English speakers is shocking for what should be an upscale hotel in a summer resort location.
Not a pleasant experience place to stay in (the town and the hotel). Would recommend staying in a nearby town if you are passing through as we were on our road trip. Not a tourist friendly destination.
Needs updating, very central, has parking facilities, wifi in room is non existing,
Awsome classic hotel in Pescara.
Our stay at Hotel Espplanade in Percasa was wonderful. We had an ocean view room that was breathtaking. All amenities are close by and the train and bus station are a close walk away. Staff were helpful and courteous.
Nice old fashioned hotel near the beach
Amazing high ceilings, rooms with views, very classic. Enjoyable stay and helpful staff. Very close to the beach and walking distance from the train station.
Excellent location and staff, disappointing room
Our first impressions of the Esplanade were great. We arrived at around noon (2 hours before checkin begins) and asked to store our luggage. The kind and polite staff instead offered to check us in early, which was surprising and great! Unfortunately, once we made our way up to the room we were less than impressed. I actually liked the decor of the room, as I tend to like the older charm over Holiday Inn cookie-cutter decor. However the shower needed a deep cleaning and the bed was hands-down the most uncomfortable thing I've ever slept on (and I go camping on a thin sleeping pad a lot!). Other guests have mentioned that the bathrooms were small and it was noisy at night. We didn't experience either of these issues - our bathroom was quite loud and noise wasn't a problem after 10 PM or so.
Close to the beach but not for a beach holiday
The hotel is centrally located for the centre and near all the best restaurants and bars, and is literally a stones throw from the beach, but considering the proximity to the beach it is not really suited for a beach holiday. They don't provide beach towels, which we had to buy for around €10 locally. There is nowhere in the room to put wet swimming costumes and towels after a day at the beach, and the worst part is they advise you that you can use the facilities at the Palm Beach resort opposite, but this costs €25 PER DAY!!! Don't even attempt to use the pool as it is tiny and full of screaming children. Aside from this, the hotel looks beautiful from the outside, and we had a great view of the beach and the main square. We didn't find it noisy as others have. The room is cleaned daily and we were given fresh linens and towels everyday and it was comfortable, but we had two TV's but no tea or coffee making facilities? That makes no sense! The mini bar was reasonable, €2-€3 for water and bottled beers, but the Tigre supermarket is a short walk away where you can pick up water for €0.17 plus other bits, alcohol, biscuits and nibbles whatever for the room. Lastly, the breakfast I would say don't bother. €6 each for mini croissants, jam, cheese, ham and bread just doesn't suit the hotel. The view is beautiful but the breakfast is not worth it. There are several cafes nearby where you will pay a fraction for better pastries, coffee and I hate to say it but better service.
Beach Area
Very nice location, and the service at the hotel restaurant was also nice, but that was about it. We picked the location as it was very close to the beach, but the hotel has not had any renovations in over 25 years and it shows. Also, front desk is not very helpful and had to keep our passports for 10 minutes to verify and copy, very concerning.
Would Not Accept Our Governement Issued ID
Travelled on June 2nd with my husband. When we arrived we had all of our ID except for our passports as no where on the site did it say specifically that we had to bring / show it. They did not accept any of the our government issued ID's. We never had an issue staying in other hotels within Italy. Hotel was not accomodating and we were not able to stay so I cannot give an accurate review of the property.
Beautiful view of the Adriatic from our room.
Nice hotel, close to the beach and town centre.
Very grand building close to the beach and convenient for cities main shopping and restaurants. Beautiful terraced restaurant on the top floor with spectacular views over the sea. Staff all friendly and efficient. Only drawback is that the hotel is looking a little tired in places with dated decor. Despite this it is kept very clean and I would highly recommend for a short break.
Seafront location in Pescara
Great location but Hotel is in need of new decor and the rooms need to be more modern
lovely position for a hotel, the breakfast/dinning area had spectacular views of the beach. The rooms were tired and lacked computer working space and plugs. No tea or coffee facilities. The down stairs reception was small with dark leather sofas making the area uninviting......Staff were very nice and accommodating.
Excellent value and breakfast
We did. It know what to expect, but were overall very happy. Thanks Expedia for selecting this hotel.
Ideal to stay for the beach
Enjoyed the view,
Nice hotel with great view from roof top.
I was lucky to get a room with a balcony and view of the beach. Very helpful staff. Breakfast on the rooftop restaurant is a must. The train station is just down the street. Huge selection of restaurants along the beach front. Tiowns people are friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed my one day stop over on my way from Croatia to Rome.
Hotel a bit outdated but amazing location
excellent - didn't spend much time at the hotel anyway
Great location!!!! Steps from the beach, right on the Main Street, walking distance to everything! The building has a lot of character but needs to be totally renovated and updated. Fantastic restaurant / bar is attached to the hotel.
Nice older hotel on lungo mare ( beach front).
The hotel was in an excellent location across the street from the beach. The hotel staff upgraded our room and included breakfast without charge! The rooftop restaraunt for breakfast had great views so if paying it is worth the 6 Euros. The hotel website mentions a seasonal pool but it is across the street not in the hotel. You must also pay for your own umbrella and chase at the beach. The free beach is right there as well so bring a beach umbrella if you have one. The hotel had some towels in the lobby that you could take to the beach. We would stay here again.
Great location
Great location , with beach acess, and tons of shopping.....highly recommended....
Room Disappointment
We had 4 different rooms during our stay for various reasons, a lot of noise 24 hours a day due to restaurant next to and under part of the hotel, staff had poor English and breakfast was not good as a result regardless of the advertised items available.
better outside than inside
The hotel has a nice beach location, but our room was looking old.
Good hotel if a little jaded now.
Hotel is good and in a great location but it is looking a bit tired now and could do with updating.
Great place-definitely would return-across from be
Lovely hotel-conveniently located-very clean-good breakfast! Bedding good-no air conditioner turned on (they have one) due to "season?" We were told---which required Windows remain open.... It was a little noises on piazza below-so air would have been very helpful---great place tho and would definitely return!
Pleasant stay near beach in Pescara
Very nice stay across the street from the beach and also near large town square where there is always action at night. Beautiful view from rooftop resteraunt with nice morning breakfast included with room.
Pescara's Hotel Esplanade
Within a stone's throw of the beach. Great location. The top floor's (6) Terazzo Ristorante has a wonderful view of the Adriatic. Had breakfast (included) up there both days. Stay away from the "American coffee", but the espressos and Cappuccinos are great. Very small shower, much like the elevators. Clean rooms. Ok bed. Lots of TV channels, but no English news station (that I could find). Nice bar next door. Within short walk of many very nice restaurants. The RE (forget what the "R" & "E" stand for) restaurant is only two blocks away is wonderful. So is Bruno's on the beach. Both brought out fresh uncooked fish (seemingly straight from the Adriatic) to pick from. Once cooked, they filleted them next to the table, enough for each in our party of 4 and 5. Montepulciano reds (Abruzzo regional red wine) and Pecorino whites (also from Abruzzo) are highly recommended. Hotel is hard to sleep soundly though the night even after a full meal and plenty of regional wine due to people in the streets until 2 a.m. and garbage collection at 4 a.m. (both nights) and street cleaners between 5 and 6 a.m.
Location
Excellent location
Adriatic Getaway
Old-world charm in a great location. This hotel immerses you into the coastal lifestyle of Pescara. We had a most enjoyable time.
prime location
Perfect location, minus the lack of localized and/or hotel provided parking. Train station is .5 miles and not secured, but very cheap to park in. Also no English channels on the TC (CNN or BBC, etc).
Review of this Hotel
Unfortunately the internal layout and decor of this hotel left us with a bad impression.
Comvenient for my need
The staff was not very friendly and did volunteer what the hotel had to offer. Very noisy early morning.
Great stay on the beach!
Very nice hotel right next to the beach. Pros: Great location by beach and shopping district. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooftop restaurant was incredible. AC in room great after hot days on the beach. Cons: Older European hotel. so the rooms were small and a little worn. A little expensive (148€ a night) but location was great. Rooftop restaurant was awesome, but only open from 1930 to 2300 and quite expensive.
Hotel Esplanade in Pescara
This hotel has a great view of the beach in Pescara and is also conveniently located on the edge of the downtown shopping area, which is mostly off limits to vehicular traffice. We had a great view of the beach from our room and an even better view from the roof top restaurant. Service was superb and we got assistance from the hotel staff whenever we requested it. Pescara's shopping district is one of the best we have ever seen. It provides a wonderful place to walk and the shops are all great. Not the usual tourist stuff.
Great location and staff, a gem.
Check in was effortless, room was large and comfortable. It's a hotel with a sense of history, food is good, great location. 9/10.
Hotel Esplanade Pescara Italy
Excellent hotel within 5 min walk of the train station. Directly across from beach and beside main square and shopping areas, Lots of restaurants close by. Friendly service at front desk and in Roof Top Restaurant. Breakfast included was also very good. Would recommend this Hotel for location and service. Ask for ocean view.
needs a remodel
The hotel and the rooms are run down, in need of a major remodel. I always stay here because of the location but this will be the last time unless they remodel the hotel.
Pescara-Esplanade
Have stayed here several times and it seems the hotel has been renovated slightly. It is in an excellent location and this might be why their pricing is what it is. Otherwise their rooms and service are average for an Italian hotel. It is an acceptable hotel to stay in. Parking is convenient and plentiful around the hotel which in Italy is a real advantage and a major convenience when compared to other hotels.
Arredo da migliorare
Hotel in ottima posizione, facile da raggiungere e vicino ai punti di interesse della città, pulito unica pecca l’arredamento molto vecchio, discreta la colazione.
Struttura molto spaziosa, personale molto disponibile e gentile.
Buona struttura, storica, dimostra tutta l'età, poche facilities (no lobby adeguata, no spiaggia privata, no ristorante gestito), personale qualificato e cortese, confortevole quanto basta per la categoria
Excellent ratio price/quality
Pescara
Very nice Hotel directly at the beach. Nice rooms. We had sea view which was incredibly loud until 2:00AM because of the beach party’s with DJ But nice and clean
Week end perfetto
Struttura bellissima, camere grandi e confortevoli.
Zeer prettige ervaring
Vriendelijk personeel en geweldige service!

Very dated, tired hotel in need of a refurb!
Staff very welcoming and friendly. However no hot water in room. Had to ask to get it sorted. Mattress very hard, difficult to sleep on. I also asked for a DND sign as none in room. Was told it would be delivered to room/ placed on door. Did not happen and so, I was awaken by housekeeper trying to get in. Very small shower cubicle. Overall a tired, dated look unsuitable for its purpose in the XXI century. The pluses its location and very friendly staff
