Christmas in Québec City

Our stay was enjoyable and we couldn't be happier. The hotel staff is amazing and very friendly. A special shoutout to Pierrot who welcomed us warmly Christmas night when we checked in. Breakfast was delivered to our room and served in a picnic basket. Delicious! The hotel is perfectly located in Old Town close to many of the sites and restaurant choices QC offers. We will return.

The room was as expected "a small queen". It was very clean and nice however the walls between the neighboring room are not very well insulated and you can clearly hear movement and activity which is something we didn't expect.

Wonderful stay in a cozy well equipped king deluxe room with fireplace! Lots of outlets for devices and storage for clothes. Coffee maker, fridge and teas/coffee made our stay even more comfortable. Staff were great especially Pierrot. Very clean and maid service was consistent on a daily basis. Filtered bottled water also appreciated. Lounge area is a welcoming space with special coffees, games and a warm fireplace. The adjacent restaurant Hortus has tasty fare. Great location as well. Definitely recommended.

The overall design was charming and very comfortable. A small hotel but everything is available in the way of a lounging area and mini gym. It is in the heart of old Quebec and therefore, perfectly located. We had a great stay and would definitely book again.

We stayed here while attending the German Christmas Market. Everything about the hotel was exceptional- perfect location for everything in Old Quebec, friendly & attentive staff, nice lounge area for warming up by the fireplace with a hot drink, and restaurants & shopping right outside the door. Highly recommend staying at Hotel du Vieux Quebec!

We absolutely loved our stay here. Perfect location to walk anywhere in Old Quebec. Large clean room with comfortable beds. Super cozy cute hotel right next to a nice restaurant. Pillows could use some improvements but we would absolutely stay again.

Fun Christmas Market Stay

We enjoyed this day, it was unfortunate that one day we had no power, but I believe that was out of the control of the hotel. The staff was extremely helpful. The beds were incredibly comfortable. Very central location. We would definitely stay there again.

This hotel was in the perfect location to explore Vieux Quebec and the front desk was amazing! So helpful and friendly. Our room was adorable and had a lot of charm, like the rest of the hotel. Really appreciated that there was a designated parking spot to unload luggage and that a paid parking lot was quite close. This is a great place to stay if you want to walk to all the main attractions.

Excellent hotel, proche de tout. Personnel très gentil et attentionné. La chambre était très agréable, bien pensée au niveau de la disposition (rangement, espace, fonctionalité). Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de statinnement, mais comme tout se fait à pied ensuite, ce n'est pas un gros inconvénient. L'hotel nous avait très bien informé à l'avance à cet effet et tout c'est bien déroulé. Nous avons passé un très beau séjour, je recommande chaudement.

This property was one of the best I have stayed in, From the checkin to the check out the staff was excellent. The design of the rooms and public areas was above standards. Location was within walking distance of many shops, restaurants, and sites. The restaurant next door was a bonus.

Very convenient, right in old Quebec city. Large room considering location, lounge with free coffee/fruit, lots of restaurants nearby, very helpful staff. Came in on overnight (red eye) flight, so was tired, but able to check us in early - much needed nap. Lots of power outlets, including usb charging ports.

Beautiful property in the heart of Old Quebec. Extremely personable staff who were always willing to help. Lots of extra little touches were included like reusable bottles for water, fresh fruit, lattes and cappuccinos—each adding to our stay. Would highly recommend this hotel!

This is a quaint hotel in the perfect location in Quebec City. We had only one day in Quebec City, and the location of this gem allowed us to walk to all of the major sites in Old Quebec City. The staff was very helpful in answering our questions. Order a breakfast basket! It was a great way to start the day.

Hotel is in a great location, very walkable to restaurants, shops, and attractions if you are looking to visit Old Quebec. The hotel and room were very clean, and had a charming rustic decor. The restaurant had a nice menu as well, although we did not get to try it (make reservations in advance). Overall a nice hotel but I would not say anything about it was “exceptional” as per the rating. I did also deduct a star for the lack of in-room entertainment. Why have smart TV’s and block chromecast and all of the apps?! That was disappointing.

This hotel is an absolute gem! Perfect location for walking to the top attractions, restaurants, and shops - Despite how busy the area was, it was remarkably quiet inside. The room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. For our car, they provided a parking pass for a nearby garage, which was very convenient. Overall a fantastic stay - Highly recommended!

Wonderful hotel

Perfect location to walk to everything.

This hotel was in the perfect location, centrally located with a very short walk to upper and lower parts of town. The road that it is on is also beautiful and very fun. They have a parking pass for a nearby garage, which is very convenient. The lounge has incredible espresso coffees 24/7. Though we didn’t get to eat there, the hotel restaurant was beautiful and clearly very popular. The main thing is that you can’t go wrong with the location. It was perfect. We will definitely be coming back!

Amazing staff and property. The lounge is fantastic with games, coffee, water and fruit. The room was small but quaint and super quiet. Lots to do for food everywhere- especially the bistro on site which is all gluten free! 10/10 recommended!

Great hotel in excellent location. Right in Old Town Quebec City. Walk to pretty much everything. Many different cafes at which to eat. The staff is top notch and the on site restaurant is very good. Lots of artisan type stores and markets. This is the place to be if you’re going for a visit.

Perfection and very sweet.

Self serve Coffee machine, lemon water, fruit available in games room; nice place to hang out. Room was perfect and bed was extremely comfortable. We brought our bikes and staff were very helpful storing and retrieving. Parking was off site, but close-no issues. Very friendly Front desk staff. Thank you for a great time.

Almost a perfect stay

Excellent hotel in Old Quebec. Great room. Only one criticism: When requested checkout time from 11 am to 12 noon, we were rebuffed: "We are expecting some passengers from a cruise and early check in." Really? Check in time is 4 p.m. Because of this I will not stay here in future

This is one of the best stays we’ve had anywhere! We’re on a family road trip and heard amazing things about Quebec City. I searched for the perfect hotel and came upon this one, and booked it for the location. I didn’t realize we’d get the best service of our life!! I’ll explain: We have a lifted vehicle, with huge tires and has stuff on the roof of it as well. I read online that they had height restrictions in their parking deck, but there was offsite parking we could use. After we checked in, I told the guy at the desk about our vehicle and he came out and measured it. He called another parking deck to check on their height and sent my husband over there to park. Alas, our vehicle was too tall despite the measuring and checking. My hubby called to tell me, and I went back to the front desk to ask what we should do. The same gentleman then went outside to look for a metered spot for us. I was standing out there with him when my husband pulled up, but there wasn’t enough room on the street. At this point, the employee said “can I get in your vehicle and we’ll go find a place together you can park?!” My husband welcomed the help, they drove around the corner and found a street parking spot with a meter, and the gentleman helped my husband get the app, navigate the language and payment, and we had a great spot while we were there! This is the kind of service you get with this hotel! Truly incredible! We’ll be back!

Property located in central part of Old Quebec. Many restaurants and shops right outside front door, and other locations like the Chateau Frontenac are only a few minutes walk away. The hotel was very nice and maintained well. Service was very good, and although parking is not on the hotel premises, our parking was only 1-2 minutes away. Overall a very good stay, and when I return to Quebec I will definitely stay here.

Great location, helpful accommodating staff. Room was clean and bed was comfy. The toilet flush didn't work great and one of the sprinklers made an annoying noise at night, reflecting this being an older hotel despite its renovations.

Our checkin associate with semi curly hair and glasses was rude and continued to be rude to our is and our kids as well throughout our stay. We asked to speak in French (which we speak) but she refused saying she had to give us important information. She asked how many room keys were needed. All the other staff members were great.

There is not a designated EV charger associated with the hotel. There are public charger systems close by and within easy walking distance. No guarantee that they will be free though. We eventually gained access, you just need to be patient. We dined at Portofino, mere steps from the hotel. It was delicious. Coffee and basket breakfast was a really nice touch the next morning.

Going through the doors of this hotel, you will be pleasantly surprised. From the warm welcome from the staff and their services. The hotel itself is very unique and nicely renovated. We did not expect it to be so big inside. Rooms are very clean and updated. Walking distance to stores and restaurants. I would highly recommend this hotel. Would likely stay here again.

Great location, very helpful staff

First time in Quebec. The hotel staff were extremely nice. Had car troubles on the last day and Sophie at the front desk found us a mechanic and went way over the top, helping us solve the problem before we left. The hotel is in a terrific location right in the middle of upper old town near many many good restaurants. Highly recommend.

We often choose Hotel Du Vieux when visiting Quebec. The hotel is the perfect location for shopping, dining and sightseeing. Nice quiet rooms and the friendliest of staff.

Absolutely perfect location. The property is wonderful, the staff is awesome and the coffee in the lounge area was amazing.

We had a beautiful room with a lovely view of the town; however, our kids’ room with the interior courtyard (?) view felt dark and was not as nice even though it was also classified as a deluxe king room. Our room felt spacious and I loved the modern interior design with exposed brick wall. The staff was very professional, helpful, and friendly. We loved the game room where we played board games on a rainy night and had hot chocolate and lattes. We loved that they had an espresso machine that was available 24/7. The hotel felt central to everywhere we wanted to go. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Room was nicely furnished, clean, updated. Bath was spacious and full. Bed was comfortable. Plentiful and comfortable pillows. Coffee machine in room was good, the the machine in lounge great. Staff were very helpful.

We are very impressed by the simple, artistic decoration of the hotel. Room is spacious and front desk staff are extremely friendly and helpful, especially Pierrot who helped my wife retrieve the cell phone charger left in the room after checkbout.

This is our second stay at Hôtel du Vieux-Québec. We love the location right on Rue St. Jean, close to all of the main attractions of Vieux Quebec. We recommend it to everyone we know planning a trip to Quebec City. Ceci est notre deuxième séjour à Hôtel du Vieux-Québec. Every detail thought out. Every need foreseen and attended to. The hotel is beautiful and clever. The lounge is set up with comfy seating interesting books, games, and puzzles, as well as espresso. Lights in the room are dimmable, there's a kettle and mugs to make tea, the bed has proper sheets and blankets, there's glass bottled water and real glasses. 100 percent better than big name hotel. Vincent and Pierrot on the front desk are exceptionally warm, friendly and helpful. Will stay here again, for sure 😊

The location is perfect for quick access to shopping and sightseeing and transit, and the hotel has a comfortable spacious lounge which is great for kids and adults alike. I really liked the optional breakfast picnic basket hung on the door in the morning; that was a cute touch. Thank you to the hotel staff for making our stay comfortable and memorable!
