Reasonable Stay at the center of Venice
Reasonable Stay at the center of Venice
The location was excellent! The hotel needs a refresh. They were painting the halls so maybe it will get better. The room was the attic they converted to a room. The shower was horrible. The floor was a swamp. I looked into other rooms and they looked great. It was just our room that was subpar!
Overall solid experience. Room was small and basic but it had everything I needed for one night. Staff were very friendly
Personal amable. Buena ubicación.
Nice quiet hotel nearby plenty of Venice’s attractions and shopping. The room was clean and spacious. Staff very nice and helpful!
I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Do Pozzi... mostly. The room was comfortable and the bed slept very well. It was in a good, convenient location also. A few thing were "concerning"... The heat was not "turned on" yet. It was very chilly in the room most of the time especially at night. The bathroom design left a lot to be desired. I've never been a fan of the open shower concept. The first shower I took had water all over the floor past the toilet and over near the sink. I had to use most of my towels to clean that up. It was either poorly designed or poorly installed. Also, no shelves in the shower - who builds a shower with no place to put soap and shampoo, very frustrating. The sink - looks pretty but not very functional; no counter space to put toiletries. The raised clamshell sink covers almost all the counter underneath, again frustrating. Overall nicely renovated but not functional for most travelers - a little overpriced for all the inconveniences.
Best location, good staff
A great location, friendly staff,
great
The room was small but most all the rooms in Italy we found to be on the smaller side. It was comfortable and convenient and the elevator was handy.
Basic but good
Nice little hotel in a great location. The single room was basic but adequate for a short stay. Staff were friendly but breakfast service was a little chaotic at busy times. Overall a good experience
Room was cold and no blanket on the bed.
Very uncomfortable bed. I had a single room.
Excellent location 10 mins walk to major attractions and shops. Hotel was clean staff nice but a bit tired in decor. Rooms very basic but suited our needs.
Such a great little hotel in the heart of Venice! The room was clean, the front desk staff was friendly and the location was excellent. I will definitely come back.
It’s safe and quiet and staffs all friendly
The property is very old. The small frige was hot inside.
Located in the heart of San Marco. Close to a lot of historical sites like Rialto bridge, Teatro La Fenice, Doge’s Palace. Simple but clean rooms .
Super location , near St Marco
Clean.

Great location. Very friendly staff. Fridge was not working but we did not use it.
The are of the hotel is great.
Cute hotel and very convenient. It’s right inside the city so you can walk to everything. Staff wasn’t very friendly besides the cleaning staff.
This Hotel was very convenient and walkable, only 5 mins walk to St Marks Square. Many dining options around and quiet. The shower however was a nightmare! It is placed in the middle of the bath and sprays towards the middle of the bathroom against a door that does not seal! We could only use this as a hand shower, so if you're okay with that, stay here for sure. When we brought this to the notice of the reception desk, the guy just shrugged and said, it works. Obviously not a quick fix, but they need to address this issue! There was a little fridge with a minibar in the room, but the prices for the drinks exorbitant!
Wonderful location! We were looking for a budget friendly option for a 2 night stay. This hotel met all of the prior reviews criteria. It is as advised. The staff made check in easy and were approachable. There is carpet in the common areas that gets a lot of foot traffic, so not in the best shape - stains, dirt, etc. The room itself was adequate, as a simple place to sleep. The bed was comfortable after a long day of walking. However, they advertise AC (which you cannot control) and it kept the room just cool enough to sleep but no more. Additionally only a sheet is provided. The bathroom had broken parts to the shower but has hot/cold water. If you are looking to have breakfast you need to choose that option when booking otherwise it is 15€/day. In conclusion, if you are just looking for a place to sleep, this should suffice. Nothing more, nothing less.
Great location. Walking distance to St. Mark’s Square. No mosquitoes noticed inside the room. Friendly staff.
The shower flooded then entire bathroom every day. The foldable shower walls do not keep the water contained.
Ideally located, near every attractions. Sure place to stay.
Place was ok staff was rude
Everywhere in Venice is in walkable distance. The water taxi was only two blocks from the hotel. There are lots of bridges with stairs in Venice, and many, many name brand shops if you like to shop. The staff at Hotel do Pozzi was very friendly and helpful.
Poor blankets
It just felt tired.
Small hotel very close to San Marcos square, the AC was malfunctioning, they reviewed it and it improved. Not so much to say about this hotel, it was Ok but nothging special
Great location and staff are very helpful
Property was very clean and great for the price. Beware bathroom is on the smaller side but would stay there again.
Unfriendly staff and got my bill incorrect. Did not extend as hospitable. Will not stay there again
The hotel staff was outstanding. The location of the property was quite convenient to many shops, restaurants and gondola services.
We ended up with an extra night in Venice and found Hotel do Pozzi available. It is not the largest or nicest or cleanest hotel, but it definitely worked for us. The room accommodated our needs for the night, and the breakfast between the (no longer used) water wells was delightful. While I would spend that amount of money on a nicer hotel, we did find this hotel comfortable.
Nice little hotel, great location, walking distance to everything. Staff were great, very friendly. Its basic but clean and comfortable for my needs as I was out most the time anyways.
Clean, comfortable and cute. Great location, near everything but still quiet in the rooms. Good air conditioning !
Good location
The best thing about this hotel is it's location, within a few minutes of San Marco Square, and it is in a quiet location. Everything else was very mediocre. The room was tiny, with an even smaller bathroom. There isn't a real shower, just a shower door in the room, so the whole room gets flooded when you have a shower. The bed was super hard. The AC is very noisy but we couldn't sleep without it as the room was hot. Breakfast was just average, not much choice.
it was horrible experience: full pre-payment instead of "pay at property" and another payment in cash at checkout. the money still in block somewhere: there are no any papers or transaction cancellation confirmation of unblocking. air condition is out of order; etc. NEVER AGAIN.
The hotel is a little cramped and old, but that’s to be expected in Venice. Our room got really hot as soon as the weather became a sunny 70 degrees. I understand the “city” won’t allow them to turn the buildings AC on.. but having a fan seems like a simple remedy. Especially since opening the windows would let in bugs and loud construction noise. Then there were little messy things like, missing lightbulbs in the bathroom, extra sink parts in the vanity, broken furniture left out in the hallway.. all in all it was clean, but a bit disappointing.
My toilet wasn’t attached to the ground completely.. so it wobbles. There was zero pressure when the shower was on hot and the breakfast was minimal amd odd and the breakfast staff seemed bothered if they had to replenish something. My bed was wedged into a nook with a ratty old blanket that didn’t fit the bed.
If I could score less than 1/10 I would
Lets start with the stench- it was awful. Smell was coming from the bathroom so probs a sewage issue. They were doing building works on the 1st floor and we were woken up by drilling outside which went on from 7am - 4 ( this was really extremely loud and we were woken up) No air condition- they actually had heating on and there was no way to turn it off. You could close the vents but there was still warm air getting into the room so we woke up sweating. At one point leaving the hotel (due to not being able to relax because of the noise). We found one of the construction workers in his underpants whilst changing his trousers in the corridor. You could see everything. It was weird and voyeristic. My mum and I laughed about it but it was not cool. The staff listened to our concerns but clearly did not care- we were not offered any compensation despite it being a building site. It really needs to be clear as we would not have stayed there. They said the outdoor work was anti flood measures so the did not know it was happening. And didn't give any answer about the dust, dirt and builder in is pants on the first floor. Would not stay here again - not even if I was being paid to. I would recommend you do not either
I raided this property slightly below average, because I was not given any notice that the property was under construction and renovation. The room smelled of chemicals and glue. The carpet was very dirty in the hallways and the walls were in disrepair. The upside was, the location was great, and the staff was quite friendly and helpful. this would be a nice little place if they took some time to paint it and clean the carpets. Probably wouldn’t stay there again.
The location of the hotel was brilliant. I could easily walk everywhere I needed to go and there were some nice restaurants nearby. The dining room was being refurbished but they had arranged for me to have a lovely breakfast in the hotel nearby. This wasn't a problem as the hotel dealt well with my gluten free requirement. The hotel has basically everything you need at a fair price.
Awful staff, horrible people
staff was very nice and helpfull
Excellent
Great value for a 3 night stay. Excellent location near St Mark’s Square. Easy check-in/out. Room covered basic requirements, bed very comfortable. Our room overlooked a private courtyard belonging to the hotel too, so no noise from the street. Highly recommended if you’re just looking for a base while you spend most of your time exploring Venice
Staff were friendly and helpful, location is great, room was a little small but in Venice they mostly are. Breakfast was good, the hotel is slightly old but for the price it’s fairly good. The room had AC which was great. Shower was a tad small. 24hr reception. It was 5 mins walk to San Marco.
Great location, clean but basic which was reflected in the price.
Nice spot. Good value.
Great location. Close to sm square and doge palace. Elevator available. Small bathroom.. but this seems to be the case across this class hotel in Italy. Our room was on the 2nd floor (floor 1 in euro elevator speak). And faced the street next to the hotel. At night we could hear the people walking by. Best to get here by water bus and get off at the sm stations. You will have to cross two bridges with steps so be prepared to lug your carryons up and down the stairs.
It's in the center. The room was bigger than what we thought! It was a 2 bedroom suite with a bathroom although we paid for one bedroom. Location is great and there is a nice seating area outside. Breakfast had a good variety. Bathroom had everything we needed from toiletries to towels.
Excelente
Good location and breakfast, excellent
The staff was very helpful. When we arrived we had struggled with our luggage through the many wonderful steps up and down to get to the Hotel. They immediately took our luggage to the room for us. The breakfast was good. The location was close to the water bus and just a bi t of a walk to the San Marcos square where all the action is. Don't open the windows in the room though, cause mosquitoes will eat you up.
The property is in a great location near St Marks Square. It can be a bit hard to find, but what in Venice is easy to find! The staff was pleasant and helpful and the room was big. Some of the fixtures were outdated and could use a refresh, but the room was large a room in Venice and was plenty clean.
Needs investment
Best thing to say was it’s in a good position. Rooms are tatty, tired and in poor condition overall. Would not return.
Very central, good price for location. Great to have outside seating to bring your own snacks back to. Good continental selection at breakfast with yogurts, fruits, crossants, breads, hams, scrambled eggs and bacon, but although breakfast is served till 10am they start clearing away and don’t restock after 9.30am, and not much left by then. Rooms are ok, could do with a few more hangers in the wardrobes. Can be noisy if you retire at a reasonable time as it is by a busy thoroughfare. Air conditioning in room was effective but got too noisy to have on all night. Lovely little bathroom but shower took a lot of patience as ran too hot or cold quickly without warning.
the area close to the water bus which we took everywhere and close to St Marcuse Square which has great resturants and food
the room was very small the buthroom door hit the bed when you open it
Sanjay's review
The stay was comfortable. The rooms and bathroom were clean and housekeeping was done everyday. The reception was friendly and helped us by providing information about the water bus locations. The location of the hotel was great.
Great Hotel
Great hotel, hidden from main thoroughfare...I definitely would recommend it.
Good but not great
The friendliness of all the staff cannot be faulted, absolutely fantastic and very helpful. But this is a hotel in great need of some TLC and modernising. Comfort of the beds, the amenities on offer, the breakfast, they could all do with a rethink. It's such a charming situation, a real flavour of old Venice but sadly lacking what modern travellers might expect. Its people are what's keeping this hotel going.
Great location
Nice staff good breakfast
The location of this property is amazing. Close to all the action , yet in a lovely private little square. Very clean. Furnishing are a little worn and dated. Very good value. Good breakfast. Our sons room was tiny and the air was not very strong.
Ideal location, few minutes from main attractions.
It was very nice, clean staff was very friendly location close to where we needed to go
Bed was terrible! Very old. Shower ran burning hot then freezing. Good location nice friendly staff
Standard hotel
Standard hotel with basic breakfast Staff is very nice Location is nice but extremely noisy Not a single power outlet in my room
Beautiful Hotel, with very friendly staff
This hotel is in such a great central location, minutes walk to San Marco Square & good waterbus links from there. We checked in with ease & our room was already ready, despite being 2hrs early @12pm. The room was small, but the bed comfortable & great value for money. The shower was a little hit & miss, had a temperature control all of it's own - but that didn;t worry us; it was a great little base for our weekend in Venice.
Nice hotel in a great position, great value
Nice hotel in a very good position outstanding value for money. Room was small which was no problem for me as a single traveler, but would have been cramped for a couple. Breakfast we just about ok, but considering it was in with the price who can complain?
Staff was brilliant and polite, hotel is close to the centre and very convenient. Breakfast wasn’t great.
Very nice hotel small room but comfortable and clean. Good breakfast and people very nice and friendly. A little hard to find, but a sign on top of the street helped us to go into the very small street where it was.
A lovely hotel with very helpful staff. Tucked out of the way with its own private courtyard in a nice neighbourhood, very close to the Vaporetto (Waterbus service). We were recommended Vino Vino to eat and probably the first time a restaurant recommendation was as good as the hotel staff said it would be. There is also a bar just around the corner. Very convenient for Piazza San Marco, etc.
Very close to all popular attractions, shopping and restaurants.
Very nice small hotel in centre of Venice
Within 5 minutes walk of St.Marks and and very short walking distance to all of the famous areas, and water bus transport. Made it very relaxing without having to worry about getting around the city. Area around hotel felt very safe, we enjoyed the shops on our doorstep and the fact that the area was attractive and always well lit at night.
Nice hotel! Clean, comfortable and very friendly staff!
Lovely hotel
Good hotel handy for travel and amenities would recommend 😅
Very Cozy, Staff was great and so was breakfast. Could do better on the beds to hard. Location is GREAT !!! Very clean. Would stay there again.
Very nice!
Excellent location! Nice and cozy, room was a little small, but that wasn’t problem. Staff was very nice and helpful!
Beautiful Hotel Close to Piazza San Marco
Nestled in a stunning little campo, just off a street flanked by beautiful designer stores, and easily a five minutes walk away from Piazza San Marco, the position of the Hotel Do Pozzi couldn’t be more perfect, and along with the friendliness and helpfulness from all its staff, and the cleanliness and comfortability of the rooms, I couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough. Should be four stars instead of three.
I think we got the worse room of the hotel. Its seriously time for the hotel to invest in new duvet and curtain for the rooms. This will make a huge different instead of feeling you are in a room from the 70's. Bathroom is very small and the shower was not fixed to the wall (so you need to keep the shower head in your hands). Continental breakfast was ok. The hotel is about 5-7 minutes walk from place St-Mark's and surrounded by fancy shops (Gucci, Channel, etc.). Internet connection is average.
Incredibly friendly staff
The staff at Hotel Do Pozzi was fabulous. Went above and beyond to help us both while we were staying at the hotel and even after we'd already checked out. The hotel itself is lovely. It's tucked away in a great spot in the heart of the city, and is a quick 5-7 minute walk to Piazza San Marco.
Enchanted by Venise.
The hotel was easier to find than I thought it would be and not far away at all from the Giglio boat stop. The hotel has a tiny elevator which does the job. The floor on their first floor is cheaply covered and has air pockets. The room was small but functional. There is a mini-bar which is cold enough to add a few things of your own. There is a TV, though no guide for the channels. Most are of course in Italian so did not use it. There is a phone in the room. The bathroom is very small and gave me the impression I was playing house. The "bidet" is under the sink and retractable. You have to close the door to use the toilet. There is A/C in the room but you do not control the temperature. It is whether Off or it gets too cold after a while if you leave it on. Afternoon employee could speak at least Italian, French and English. Very helpful. Breakfast is good. Seat cushions in the breakfast room need to be changed. There is a restaurant nearby called Vino Vino which I really liked. As I was leaving from the Venise Airport, I took the boat that goes all the way to the airport. Got different stories from different sources at the hotel, tourist office and ticket seller on the length of time it takes to get there and for the walk.I also got the wrong time for the departure of the boat. Maybe there was confusion as to the choice I had made as you can decide to take a boat and a bus after. That way however you have to transfer to the bus and look for where the bus is.
Ok stay but customer support via email was poor. Sent email 2x for information prior to arrival but no response.
Dirty hotel
Would not recommend. Small bathrooms, mosquitoes everywhere, our room had blood from dead mosquitoes on the wall and the floor before even staying. Key card didn’t work.
The best of Venice
Hotel So Pozzi is a old Italian hotel with all the feelings if Italy. Hotel Do Pozzi is more of a bed and breakfast where the hotel does not have a restaurant. Breakfast is very tasty, yoga, pastries, lunch meats, fruits, coffee, juice, croissants, pancakes. The hotel has a very nice intimate Italian court yard and the hotel is in the center, excellent location, next to Burberry store surrounded by all the shops and restaurants, jackpot location
Overall nice
Nothing fancy about this hotel, but it met our needs.
Everything you need for a Venice weekend
Location absolutely perfect, 2 mins walk to San Marco. Not difficult to locate entrance as some reviews stated as the hotel is clearly signed! Everything you need for a short city break! It's not 5* luxury but it's clean, hotel staff are friendly, beds comfy and you can walk out the door into heart of Venice!
Nice hotel close to St.Mark Square
Room is spacious and comfortable. Nice hotel close to St.Mark Square. ...
Reasonable
Good location. Reasonable breakfast. Bad shower, temperature of water kept changing continuously.
good in general with details
the hotel is well located. In general it was good however rooms have lot of different smells, cigarette, cologne, etc we couldn't find from where they coming from and that is disgusting
A week home and still scratching !
The location is fab if you wish to be near St Marks and up market shops.Breakfast tasty and plentiful if a bit repetitive. The problem was with the A/C or Air con. Its centrally controlled and turned off in winter so all you can get is a unit blowing heat not cold if required. The point is if its a mild night you have no choice but to open the windows and be bitten all night by mosquitos. This was hellish . A week after arriving home and I am still scratching and clawing. Do not trust the A/C advertised on the webpage it is non existent and false advertising.
Great location
Close proximity to the center. Budget friendly hotel. Helpful staff.
Great location but rude staff to foreigners
The only good thing here is the location - very close to St Mark's square and you are literally staying right above luxury stores, meaning that it quiets down at night and the area is safe and clean. The breakfast was alright but I've had better. There were a number of good options of breakfast item but it's nothing really to write home about. Now for the main reason why I disliked the stay. First of all, if I am paying CAD$400/night for a room, I expect a smile at check in and good customer service. Nope, no smile. In fact, I thanked the guy at the check in and he didn't even nod or say anything. I had come in earlier than the check in time and he made me feel like a nuisance for not coming at 2pm. I had previously confirmed by email that I would leave my luggage in the hotel earlier so I don't understand the attitude I was given. He did not even indicate where I should put the luggage. Also, I was not allowed to use the washroom on the ground floor even though it was 10am and breakfast was pretty much over. I did notice however, he was much nicer with locals the next day when I was checking out. Some locals had come in to leave their luggage earlier than the check in time and he went out of counter, smiling and helping them put their luggage away to the side. Other than the rude customer service, the room was extremely bare. The phone is from the 80s. The TV was extremely small. The double bed is actually two single beds together. Shower water temp kept fluctuating.
Great location next to San Marco.
Tucked away down a narrow ally was this jewel of a hotel. Loved the towel warming racks and the separate rooms. Staff was helpful and kind. Room was clean. The only negative was that the walkway in front of the hotel was quite noisy with passerbyers which woke us until later in the night. We liked our street front room, but the other rooms may have been quieter.
Great location,
I've stayed in many hotels in Italy before, by far, the most cramped I've ever been in a room.

Great location and very cute hotel
This was a very nice hotel in a great area and very helpful staff. We only had three days in Venice so we needed a place that was very central. This was on a street with a bookstore and some restaurants but was not too busy or loud. I would definitely stay again!
