Everything was good
No elevator. Tiny room with tiny bathroom.
I had a terrible experience in this hotel. I booked a bedroom for 2 nights. During the first night at 4.30 in the morning, 2 drunk men tried to force my bedroom door. I called right away the front desk 2 times and no one answered. Evidently none there. The floor was without security cameras that are just at the main entry. The morning after I signaled the situation to the front desk, the employee checked the security cameras and hipotized that the responsibles were the men of the adjacent room because none entered in the structure at that time. This means that these people were drunk around the hotel at 4.30 in the morning and none intervened previously to stop them. The employee just apologized and nothing more was done. I was suggested to call from the room phone and press 0 information that they did not give me in advance. I had to reach out to Expedia and just after this call I was asked if I wanted to leave and receive a refund for the second night or changing room. The responsibles were not charged, just "warned" even if everyone pay a stay deposit and they could be charged of causing a damage to another guest. I did not receive any refund. The hotel staff said that the guest behavior is out of their control. The guest safety is and even if they cannot control these people they should have answered the phone be present and intervine right away and find a solution and had some cameras on the floor. This is unacceptable. Plus the WI-fi barely working and insects in the room.
It could use some updating but it was clean and the staff very kind and friendly.
Old building but they keep very clean, private shower and bathroom is the best part. owner is very nice couple. highly recommend.
Our stay was pleasant. The service was very friendly. I would recommend it.
Was a new renovated room Staff was friendly
As I booked last minute this was one of the only hotels around the centre cheap enough(still not cheap) and ok to book. It was fine for what I needed. The owners were friendly and the room was ok with a bath which was nice. The bed wasn't that good and the wifi was slow at times but it's clean and a good location for a few days in Montreal.
The reception staff/customer service were very helpful and welcoming. They communicated in good English and answered all our questions. I would gladly stay there again.
Room seems smaller than the average hotel room and there are some small details about the washroom
Would not return security deposit fo using their bed sheets that were in a unlocked locker that they claimed to be locked, while well knowing that we have been using tnem
It was perfect! Really clean and air conditioned. Staff was very kind!
Budget hotel near bus depot. Walkable area. Didnt expect much. Has potential but simply put.... clean enough to sleep.
😃
Very good location for Berri AQAM station. Place in no frills but adequate for sleeping in the city to do other things in day. Very safe. Very competent check in/out. I dont have alot of needs so no problem. No elevator but great exercise using stairs. Was very expensive due to F1 weekend.
For the area the place was not too bad. It was perfect for going to the F1 Race.
Clean, comfortable, convenient location
Room was clean and the staff was very friendly. It is very convenient to the Metro and also to the Latin Quarter which has a lot of places to eat.
Remboursement
Je n'ai pas encore recu le remboursement du préautorisation.
Smooth enough check in and friendly staff. To note is the narrow stairs and lack of elevator, which was fine for us with light luggage. The room itself was a pleasant surprise, small and without any frills but renovated and clean, especially the bathroom. Good location too, we were able to walk or take the metro everywhere we needed to be. The issue I couldn't get past is the sleeplessness, bring earplugs in case your room happens to be connected to others by the vent system as I woke up to anything louder than breathing from other rooms, particularly because it sounds amplified through the vent clear as day. It's a concern built into the building so there's not much to be done about it besides personal noise blockers. Overall not a bad price for the room and stay, ideal for 1-2 people staying 1-2 nights on a budget.
Amazing staff. Very helpful. Felt like home. 10/10 would recommend.
It's in the Latin Quarter. Its got basics like tv, wifi, minifridge, central heating, shower, desk. Stuff works. If you want a modest place to stay for a good price it's fine.
My room’s door was extremely hard to lock with the key so I had to leave my room unlocked and ask the reception to lock it for me. Thankfully I did not have anything that I was afraid of losing; however, it is still inconvenient to not be able to lock your room door when going out.
We had a pleasant stay. The staff was kind and friendly. Location is very convenient.
There was spiders crawling everywhere, The Couch Was Dirty Same as Everything Else, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE AT ALL
Great choice for going out in the village easy walk from many restaurants, bars, clubs, cafes. Clean and quiet
Had a wonderful weekend with the Family. I would stay again.
This is a "fine" hotel for the money. It is in a great location. About a 5 minute walk to the "gay district" which is a walking only area of 5-6 blocks long and has a ton of food and drink options. St. Catherine St is 10 minutes walk. Even Old Port is walkable (20 minutes). The owners are awesome. Helpful, friendly. That said, it is an old hotel. It feels like an old hotel. There is no AC in the rooms. They control it and when you are on the 3rd floor...it is HOT when it is hot outside. We had trouble sleeping. It was probably 85 in our room. Maybe warmer. If that isn't for you, you don't want to stay here. The hotel was clean, the sheets were clean, the bathroom was fine. I would stay here again, but only in the Spring/Fall. Wouldn't do Summer again because of the heat, and Winter would worry me because of the cold.
It was clean. Sound insulation between rooms is not great. The type of guests is also not great.
As advertised :) pretty basic but clean , real close to cheap parking. Just off ste Catherine which was sweet.
The building is very old but the room was clean. Very small rooms on the stairs and hall. The staff was very pleasant. For the price was alright.
Very old, not up to date. Too narrow hallways, stairwell and rooms were old with mismatched furniture. Bathrooms were so tight and small.
Very clean!
Big Disapointment
The queen size bed was more like a twin size. The head shower was broken and the manager said he fixed it but the water was too hot. They clean the room twice during our 8 day stay. The only positive was the central location . I will never go back to this place and they should be removed from the listing
Stay if you want the bare minimum and can get it under $90. We booked for 5 and the room provided only 2 twin beds. The washroom lock was broken. Sink is super small like a prison. Toiletries and glasses provided only for 2 persons. Quite steep price given the service quality. The guy at the reception was nice and cordial, the hotel's is just too old.
I enjoyed the freshly renovated rooms that maintained character of the building. I appreciated the friendliness of the staff. I rested well in the clean, quiet rooms. I was very disappointed that there was no continental breakfast - as had been advertised on site!
nothing
Good location and convenient
Great Value, perfect for night before/after flight
We had a great rate on this, making it a very good value, considering how close it is to the BUS station (bus to other cities and to the airport) and the subway station.
Very clean, but other than that everything else was poor.
Nice and clean. Close to parking and walking distance to great restaurants and site seeing. Excellent, friendly and helpful staff.
Didn't like it.
Didn't like this place at all. Was really expecting something better based on reviews and feedback and it was the only reason why we selected this hotel. The room we got seemed to be the smallest in the hotel (based on floor plans). It didn't look recently renovated or repaired. Maybe other rooms were in better conditions but not our's. Bed was too soft, but this is personal preference. Positive things: Friendly personnel, good location, underground parking across the road with $12 CAD/24h.
Autre que de devoir monter autant de marche, la chambre et la propreté ont été une très bonne surprise.
It was exactly what I needed. It was perfect......
Good location
The room is a bit small. Location is good and with short walking distance to the tourist area
No elevators make it difficult to carry heavy luggage. However, if you're looking for a cheap, clean place to stay near the busy and popular Latin Quarter - this is a good place.
Breakfast
Your site says breakfast was included, but owner said that is an error, it was NOT included, very disappointing
Good for the price
Clean
Not so good
Groady hallway, steep stair carpets.
It wouldn’t be so bad for the low cost, but the hallway carpets are so groady you really are embarrassed to stay here. The stairs are awkwardly steep.
Clean and comfortable. Not a 5 star room but adequate for the price. Wished there was some sort on continental breakfast that some of the other local small places offer
Staff was nice, room was adequately clean. No elevator and placed on the top floor was horrific. If you have any health conditions speak to someone prior to booking! Mini fridge in room is a nice amenity. Hotel really needs to offer coffee since there is no coffee maker in room. Location is GREAT! If stairs dont bother you and you don't need coffee, this hotel is a great place to stay.
Immaculate tourist hotel near the bus terminal
Over the years, I've stayed in many of the small tourist hotels near the bus terminal. This is by far the best. It is immaculately clean, quiet, young lady at the desk is extremely friendly and helpful she help me with a problem with my reservation. I'll be going back here!
Proximity to Metro, restaurants, grocery store > Excellent. Place needs updating, but good bang for your buck. No elevator - but only 3 floors if you can handle the climb. Staff was friendly and room was clean. Was on my own, so smallness of room suited me fine.
Location was excellent. Rooms were a little small, but were also clean and fairly modern. Definitely worth the price, but don’t expect any extras. It’s great if you just need a nice room to stay in.
The owner kindly offered us a room with queen bed instead of a double-bed as booked on line. That was greatly appreciated. The room is clean. The bed is comfortable. I have one one suggestion for improvement. There is a holder for a fire alarm in the room but it appeared empty. For safety, it would be best to have it installed properly.
Pros: price. Cons: almost everything else. Staff can’t use a computer and couldn’t find our reservation. They wanted to charges us a second time even if I showed them my master card statement... No soap and no shampoo in the room...
Hotel was located in such a great location, very close to train station and 747 bus that takes you to airport. About a block down from gay village. The room was very small, but clean. At night it was somewhat cold and the sheets barely keep you warm. However, staff was very kind and my room was always clean daily. I will most definitely stay there again if I’m traveling in a budget.
In old .ontreal...great restaurants nearby.across the street from the mtro station
Nil',,,,,,,,,',,,,,not a whole lot to say....pictures are nothing like actual view
Hotel needs renovation. Carpet not clean.
Clean, walkable to old Montreal, Non luxury
Room was clean and quiet. Walkable distance from old Montreal. It was not a luxury room but comfortable to slèep at night.
Overall the staff is nice: smiling and greeting. But they charge a relatively high price for the conditions they offer. In the hallways: bed matraces, which you have to pass by getting to your room; the shower curtain fell down in the shower room. And then what surprised me the most: they were not ready to return my deposite when I was checking out, and that because they lost their records of taking it from me; finaly they had to resort to camera records to prove it - and only after without words of sorry just put the money on the desk for me to take. Very surprising, and unprofessional.
Excellent location, Good value.
Easy check-in. Friendly staff. Clean room. Excellent location, so close to the subway it's so easy to access the whole city.
cold room
Nice clean place but too cold. The hallway thermostat indicated it was 17.5 C. No mater how much heat was on, a draft came under the door and the windows were old and let cold air in. The front staff wore winter coats.
Lots of stairs, but overall a nice place to stay for the price.
The hosts are very nice. There is no elevator and I was placed on the 4th floor so that was my only complaint. Bed was really comfortable.
Friendly Service
We came to Montreal to get our daughter get settled for university. Our first booking with this hotel was for August 22-25 for two double bed, and from August 25-Sept 2 for one bed. The hotel was not the kind that we were used to as we are team member for a brand hotel. There was no elevator and the rooms were small. However, we decided to stay for the second segment of our stay because of the friendly service from the owners. They always greeted us warmly and were always smiling when they saw us. I would recommend this hotel for travellers who doesn't mind the absence of bells and whistles.
Friendly Hosts
This is an older hotel that has small rooms and no elevator. However, it is close to metro, bus stops, restaurants, parks, and walking distance to Old Montreal. Best of all, the owners are friendly. They always had warm greetings and smiles every time they saw us. I recommend this place to those who doesn't mind the absence of bells and whistles.
Simple, Clean and Nice
Super simple but clean hotel in MTL for a great rate. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a simple place to sleep at night, that is clean, but does not have any bells or whistles.
Newly renovated and clean hotel
Our stay at this hotel was great, the staff made the check-in very easy, room was newly renovated and clean and the location was great!
Except one issue of AC not working properly and it was a concern and charges were high though room size was small. The staff was quite co-operative who helped to park my car in a safe place.
Location is all that was good
I stayed only one night with three nights booked, knowing I'd get no refund. Had difficulty getting the door unlocked, sometimes taking a full minute to get inside. Spaces above doors, hall noise! Piping hot water from both hot and cold taps in sink. No soap other than hand soap provided. General dirt if you looked around. I wanted to stay at a better hotel but area was fairly booked. With local events crowding restaurants and horrific hotel, I headed home after one night. Been to Montreal maybe 50 times and am planning to go back in November. But avoid this hotel
Kind of dumpy but location isn't bad.
Bathroom was nasty. Room was tiny. Bed was too short. Bathroom was small. Light could be seen through most of door frame. The cable was ok. Stairs were almost straight up. I wouldn't recommend it. No bar soap or shampoo. Although towels were plentiful. Daily cleaning was towel and trash change. Location isn't bad, near airport bus stop. I would not stay there again. But hotels are limited in gay village. Many hotels have closed on St Catherine. So you have too stay a block or 2 away. Price was way too high. Amenities were way too low.
Access to transportation is so easy
The staff are so nice. They are so friendly. The location in so near the Metro so you can just go everywhere.
Comfortable stay for solo travels
This is a budget hotel so don't expect anything fancy. However the room was clean and I got fresh towels everyday, the water was always hot, the bed was comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly. My only complaint was that there was no elevator so I had to carry my suitcase up 2 flights of stairs. Other than that, it was a great place to stay if you're in Montreal to explore and see the sights.
Not very secure rooms but the room was comfortable and clean.
Bad experience, little help from the staff.
The ceiling collasped during the night because the room upstair accidently flooded. This is certainly not the fault of the hotel, however the staff was completely clueless, was unable to give me another room and was very reticent to refunding my stay. This accident will probably never happen again, but let just say I was not impressed by the service...
The room was pretty small and there was very old TV but it didn't even work. But it was okay because i only went there to sleep.
Close to metro rail n greyhound transportation
Everything good but no copy or tea for breakfast. Staffs good and helping.
hotel close to downtown
never recommend, Very expensive for this type of hotel
Cheap and clean
Bring your own soap and shampoo. They do not provide it. Breakfast is OJ, Coffee, toast and donut or small cakes.
Convenient for getting around.
The hotel isn't bad if you don't mind zero bells and whistles. We didn't stay for breakfast because, to be honest, given the way the place looked, we were willing to sleep there but not eat there. It wasn't my first choice, but it was doable for a last minute booking, especially for the price compared to what my other options were at the time. Super close to metro stations!!
Nice staff, faint smoke air in room spoiling stay
Relative good location, calm street and parking for $12/24 hours nearby. Issues: a) shower has a dark curtain so by closing the curtain you are in the dark inside the shower box, no lighting (fix: replace for a transparent plastic shower curtain); b) battery of the smoke detector needs changing, detector started beeping warning sounds by 4:00 am (fix: staff should Change batteries within regular schedule BEFORE they expire); c) water taps in bathroom were reversed in the sense that they open turning it "clockwise", must have been fitted by people with no knowledge of standards in this Country (fix: employ certified plumbers for plumbing jobs in the property); d) air conditioning thermostat did nothing to control cold air temperature blowing from the ceiling directly over the bed (fix: upgrade the HVAC system in the hotel to allow for min/max temperature control in the rooms, plus allow re-directing the air flow direction by guests or place air flow blowing not directly over beds); e) Mattress was noisy (fix: change the old coil mattress). All would be forgiven if we didn't encounter the greatest problem of all: the signature smell of smoke that, although faint (hardly perceptible when we first entered the room), after many hours the odour builds up and gets hard into one's nose (fix: change completely the carpet, curtains, mattress and the blanket covers for superficial cleaning will not remove what was certainly a place of heavy smoking).
Nice hotel to stay in Montreal
situated at the hotel street right beside old-Montreal. The entire street was built for rental long time ago, hence the building is not recent but is decent to stay in. Internet is heated and fast. Just my wife used to firm mattress, but the bed is very soft - depends on individual preference. Close to the main hub of Montreal's subway hub BQAM - 3 lines cross here. Walk to Old Montreal area is just 10 minutes. If it rains, hop on the subway and you can do shopping in Montreal's underground street in just 3 stops. But now is Montreal version of "Big Dig" - EVERYWHERE! There is a cheap parking very close by (underneath the Greyhound's terminal) for $12 every 24 hours. Safe area and friendly staffs. $2 simple breakfast is also great way to wake up too. Recommend this place if you are not too picky about the stars of the hotel - after all, you are vacationing here for the city, not the bed. Have fun!
good staff is helpful
Affordable hotel option.
I was looking for a clean but affordable place to stay in Montreal for 1 night. This place was perfect for that. It was a good option for the price I was willing to pay. The room was clean and the staff was nice.
This was not a luxury hotel but it was good for that we needed and we knew that ahead of time. Employees were nice enough.
review
It is a little run down but it is a cheap hotel. Neighborhood is mixed, that is, arty but has some rough looking people. Very good access to Metro and Main bus station ( greyhound )
Good as a cheap last resort.
The room was small but clean. If you`re not from Montreal, be aware that it is in a sketchy area.
Very nice staff
Staff was very nice and welcoming, would say hello all the time and furfill all needs.
Very inexpensive...
Very well located in downtown Montreal. Friendly and helpful staff. Remember the price and location and the somewhat frayed around the edges nature of the place won't be troublesome.
You get what you pay for
When I first entered the hotel to check in, they asked for my name, looked for their paper work, and I provided them a printout of my hotel reservation booked through expedia. For some reason, because my full name wasn't on the printout of the email reservation, just my email address, the front desk was confused. Their paperwork had my full name and email address and they were stumped as to how to reconcile the lack of full name on the email printout. I then provided them my license and showing my full name and they still had this dazed and confused look as if I was performing a magic trick. After about 10 minutes of astonishment, they decided it was ok to check me in. When I got into the hotel, the room definitely did not look like the 2 bed unit in the picture provided. It was smaller and run down looking. To top it off, there was no iron in the room and no soap in the shower. Went out for the day, came back at night and the hotel hadn't been serviced. At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. I new the place was cheap but I didn't expect for there to be no iron or soap in the place. 2 star
Helpful staff. Adequate budget lodging.. Good loca
Good value. helpful staff. Good location. Decent breakfast
Close to the village
Not fancy or anything, but it's a OK place if you are looking to stay in the village for not a lot of money.
the room is literally a closet and prostitutes were frequent visitors
It was a good stay for what I needed. I was only in two for the weekend. It was close to downtown.
Nice staff, beds and location
Staff were nice; patient with some rude customers. Breakfast was bad, but price for rooms is super cheap. Beds comfortable and clean, water pressure in the shower sucked. We brought one extra person and they were very accommodating, also let us leave our bags after checking out and such
This Hotel has do be built up Adapter
The best is Outside Few of this Hotel, please dont Look behind Doors which are only private (when Open).
Nice Place
Very nice little place very well situated if you wish to be close to the tourist area. I was surprised that I had to check in at another address around the block, especially after I had been dropped of by taxi and had to walk through the snow to check in.
We booked a room for 5 people. The size of the room was too short that technically it only accomodate 3 people at a time. There were only 2 beds. Max 4 can sleep at a time. One of us had to sleep on the floor(on extra mattress given by them).
