Bungalow very dirty ants everywhere toilet had been used and not cleaned tv and phone not working very poor condition
Pros: location, beach pool. Cons: Food options are very average.
The staff are very nice, always ready to help
I recently stayed at Bell Azur Hammamet for two nights, and overall, it was a pleasant experience.
Filthy room, room wifi box not mounted, AC not working, wifi not working, room’s telephone not working at all, safe key broken and safe not functional. We spent two days out of four waiting to be moved to another room. I have videos and recording,, worst experience
The surroundings (nature)
Correct
The quality of the service and food has considerably downgraded. The only positive thing is good wifi
Fine but could be better
It was ok. Service could improve. Took me a while to check in. Room had a funny smell
This is our second stay at Bel Azur. We’d also previously stayed at its neighbour, Sol Azur. and used all the Bel Azur amenities. So it feels like our third stay. We keep coming back because we enjoy the staff and the amenities. We asked for sea views and were assigned room 603 which had direct view overlooking the sea. No impediments… just sun, sand and sea. It was unbelievable to wake up to the sun and sea every morning, and to spend time on our balcony. It is a spacious room, with little bar area - kettle, tea and coffee, and mini fridge. There’s a safe, large wardrobe area, bathroom with a tub (which I utilized for a great hot bath), two joined double beds and a single. We requested, and received, 2 robes to use during our stay. They also were able to provide an ironing board and iron for an hour with a 20dt security deposit. We thank front receptionist, Saber for setting up this room for us. It was really special and we sincerely appreciated it.The room was really well cleaned everyday. We always eat too much when at Bel Azur because there is so many choices. Chef Mehrez made sure to make our stay extra special with special meals and lunch invites. The steak dinner he made for us was phenomenally mouth watering. The servers in the dining room really work hard. We like to make special mention of Wajdi Aljaziri and Mohamed Alhajbrahim both of whom would go out of their way for us. Naz, from animation is so friendly! Great lounge bar staff too. Overall, great stay!!
Excellent staff and service
Good
The personne at the reception was too busy to welcome us properly, he was doing too many things at the same time. He gave us an old and durty bungalow. We complain, and they change us the room the day after, upgrading to see view 1st floor bungalow! We appreciate. The restaurant was good, modern, lot of choice, we appreciate Tunisia dishes! here again the staff was really busy and not able to help you (even when missing a fork!) The beach is clean and amazing! The rest of the hotel was modernized in a good style a part of the reception.
The staff was very rude. Even someone I was trying to buy a drink from was rude. A bartender made fun of me for asking where the towel person was. Our room was still hot even with the air conditioning and they said they'd come with a fan but never did. Don't stay here. It's a joke.
Relaxing visit
Nice beach and pool. Room was ok, but dated. Buffet was ok, but not great. Enjoyed the shops, hair dresser beauty touch, and cheap gym outside the resort. Front desk and wait staff was friendly.
Good Food
Lots of things were great about my stay. The food is excellent and the room is comfortable, on the small side for a triple but functional. Pools were clean and staff were friendly. Views were exceptional. On the other side, there was an old pair of underwear left hanging in the bathroom. Too few loungers at either pool with people reserving them and never returning. Long lines for snacks and drinks at the pool (15mins or more sometimes to wait). We also tried to order shisha. Many staff members didn’t know where to go. When we finally found it, we got the price, talked about flavors. When we ordered, he claimed to be completely out of all shisha (why give us the price and the flavors?). Also my sea view room was mostly a garden view with the top right corner of the window showing the sea. That should be called a partial sea view.
Great service and friendly staff. The beach is truly one of the best in the Mediterranean. Super clean. We had lunch at the beach bar and the food was fresh, tasty and delicious. Impeccable service. Will definitely come back.
clean and nice room. they upgrade our room to a suite that was so welcoming. Every thing was good except the information they gave about public transportation, it seemed that they wanted passengers to use taxis only. Also, the taxi service that the hotel called, charged us more than twice and manipulated the taxi meter. We found this out when we got back to the hotel with the other.
Beautiful hotel, views and feel. Friendly and polite staff . We stayed in seaview bungalow but access was only available by lots of steps to room so unsuitable for us really because we had wheelchair but well worth it if mobile and wanting peace and relaxation. The inside pool closed the day we arrived and outside pooks, although beautiful, were too cold for my son as he has sensory issues so little dissapointed there ecspecially as it looks nice inside . Food was ok but didnt serve chips and again my son has bland diet and would only eat chips while we were there so i was glad we only booked half board. These were my only niggles but i would so like to back again but would probably book just bed and breakfast. However if you havent got fussy kids you d easily find something 😁 great hotel for relaxing holiday in beautiful hammarmet with lovely staff
I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel, as a solo traveller I felt that this was the perfect hotel for my needs. The staff were extremely friendly and you can tell they are a hard working team. I booked an all inclusive stay at this hotel and enjoyed every part of it. My room had a sea view and was cleaned everyday by this dedicated cleaning lady (I forgot to ask her name). I admired her work ethic and quality of the service she provided. She was amazing! The hotel was clean and you can tell it's maintained well. The buffet had a lot of variety and every day the menu seemed fresh and new. This was ideal for me because it allowed me to try new things and not get bored. Whilst there were some local dishes the majority of the food were international type foods. They had theme nights on some nights but still included a variety of other foods. The presentation was amazing and seemed like a 5 star experience. The staff were friendly and attentive and I would especially like to thank Riadh for all his amazing service. The activities were varied and I participated in a range of them such as darts, zumba, a steps class and a cooking class. One thing I would suggest is that the information on the different activities should be advertised better with location information (ie. Meeting place in the reception area). Other than that, the activities were fun and had energetic staff leading them. My overall experience with this hotel was above my expectations, I would definitely be back.
We just spent 16 days at Bel Azur Thalasso & Bungalow Hotel (room 403) and we’re very happy with our stay. The room was clean and ready at check in. Registration was easy and the reception was very pleasant with us. (They have convenient money exchange capabilities at reception.) The porters were friendly and efficient. The room itself is not fancy but it is was clean and had all the amenities you would expect, like a mini fridge, safe and hair dryer. There was also a coffee table and chairs. When we requested a kettle (tea/coffee station) for the room it was provided. We had a Seaview, which gave us a partial view of the sea. There are quite a few trees in the area in between the rooms and the sea. That does obstruct the view slightly. We had a large balcony, with a table and two chairs, and a small drying rack affixed to the wall. We were happy with the level of privacy it afforded us and we enjoyed utilizing the space to enjoy the view and the weather. We opted for the full board package which included all food and beverages (excluding alcohol). The included restaurant is very large and always had plentiful buffet options. We were able to enjoy a good meal three times a day. The food was fresh and very tasty. Great animation staff…activities and shows. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and the resort definitely deserves its star rating. We would definitely recommend the hotel to our friends and family.
Perfect stay
Very good management ,excellent reception ,fantastic food convenient location good entertainment at the bar every night we will definitely go back.
Good service
One of the best places I’ve ever stayed in Hammamet. Friendly stuff and clean rooms with gorgeous view.
Very nice
Overall it was a good experience with the stuff and nice stay.
We paid for a bungalow with a sea view. We were given a room on the 2nd floor. We let them know that we were supposed to have a bungalow. They switched our room. However, our sea view was blocked by a huge bush. The patio area behind our room was very overgrown with weeds. And there were ants on our patio. The ants kept coming into our room. One of the neighbors stole our hammock. Our air conditioner did not work so we called the front desk. We were told that they do not work. they do not turn on the air conditioners until the end of May. Very misleading on the expedia page. Food was very bland. There are cats running all over the hotel, inside and out. Even in the dining area. The shower took 23 mins. to get warm. Taking a very cold shower at 5:30 am was not fun. The beach was not cleaned. There was lots of piled up seaweed. Lastly, our bed was extremely hard. We woke up with everything on our bodies hurting the whole stay. Many of the pictures on expedia are not of the Bel Azur. There are 3 hotels from the same chain in the vicinity.
I truly love this Hotel , ever thing about it is Excellent. Can’t wait to go back . A big thank you to all the staff .
Pleasant stay, would visit again
The staff are very friendly and helpful They had some synchronization problems with my reservation so instead they upgraded my reservation (for free) with an amazing view. The food at the restaurant was good, you can find a variety of options. Some dishes were tasty some weren't.
Very popular with Tunisian families, and as such quite noisy in the evening. Buffet very busy at peak times (600 pax), but food essentially runs out if you go later.
Lovely sea view from the room. Beach and swimming areas kept very clean. One woman at reception very helpful in providing information for excursions and taxi bookings. Check in a long, unorganized process. No information provided about resort, amenities, procedures, etc. or where to locate such information. No information in room. Dining was uncomfortable as a solo traveller as male staff often solicited me for excursions or evening massages.
Excellent sea on site. Good food choice.
A very nice piece of seas to enjoy. Very good facilities like two swimming pools. Good selection of foods at the buffet.
Price and service is 3 stars hotel not 4
Check up bad they didn’t find our booking. swimming pool and external area, garden and beach amazing and clean.Room was clean but service is like 3 stars.Poor cleaning internal common part and lift. Abundant and various food but medium quality.vegan food available but no lactose free milk and gluten free food.the price we paid is not value for 4 stars hotel
The property is nice, the staff are unhelpful, the food is pretty average (wouldn't want it everyday)
The reception staff, especially Adel, were very friendly and accommodating. They helped arrange excursions, exchange money, and taxis. The hotel was really clean - every day, an attendant would provide new towels, clean and organise the room. The cleaner named Hedya was especially helpful and hospitable. The bed was meant to be a king size bed but in fact, it was two double beds pushed together which was really uncomfortable given that I was staying with my husband. The food was very nice but lacked variety. Would be good to have different foods on different days. The private beach and outdoor pools were really lovely & definitely an option for a chill day. The on-site entertainment was also great - karaoke, fire breathing, dance shows.
Family Holiday
This hotel was good for us. Has its beaches, swimming pools, spa, shop. The rooms are large. We have breakfast and dinner, range of food was good.
Fantastic staff. Couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful.
Fabulous Hotel
3rd stay at Bel Azur fabulous as ever wonderful staff good food plenty to choose, very clean restaurant and staff very attentive, hotel spotless sadly the weather was not good which was unusual so made the stay a little different there could be more entertainment in and around the hotel as it seemed quiet on days. Animation work had with their evening entertainment dance shows were good with Roger & Simba great dancing ! Quiz music nights were good, and the disco provides entertainment for late evening great hotel all round looking forward to the next visit
The hotel and staff were absolutely amazing. The staff were outstanding and very polite and helpful. Each and every staff member went out of the way to make us feel comfortable. I would like to give special thanks to Mr News, the restaurant carte staff and the housekeeping staff. They fulfilled each and every requirement we requested during our stay.
Too much noise from house keepers, stuff on front desk are not very welcoming, sorry but it was not good experience.
As a hospitality professional, I highly recommend this property. The most unique element is the STAFF - Outstanding, friendly, and efficient. Therefore, the service is great and the property is clean. The view, as featured, is amazing.
very good
very good
The stuff especially in the lobby was unfriendly they didn’t care at all about welcoming me as a guest, I had a very bad experience on my stay. The hotel is very dirty bathrooms smells bad. They don’t check for vaccinations especially during pandemic. I will never book this hotel again. Not recommend for someone coming from USA .
American traveler
I had the most amazing time at Hotel Bel Azure. Staff and service was excellent . Made me feel welcome and my home away from home. Can’t wait to come back!
I loved the outstanding choice of food on all inclusive. Staff were excellent and very polite.Great location in Hammamet with comprehensive facilities. My bungalow was very clean and comfortable with direct access onto a lovely sandy beach. Luxury yet very well priced. Will return here soon.
Bel Azur, Hammamet
The hotel was very clean. The staff were very nice and friendly. However, the hotel requires a major makeover and moderisation. The Tunisian smoking culture of allowing it everywhere may not be in keeping with most European countries. Visitors be aware of local con artists posing as hotel staff members outside the main entrance to guide visitors to specific shops usually in the medina area selling goods a lot more expensive than the actual value.
The service was bad The staff not friendly or helpful The rooms are not clean Lack of information The food is average
very bad stuff and very bad services and very bad food they employees has bad attitude no go there, 😡😡😡😡
Run away!
OK first and foremost the customer service of Hotels.com is horrible cuz i tried lots to contact anyone but i found auto reply and it so useless. my check in take long time the reception was crowded with a lot of guests and it was only 2 employee for registration. there wasn’t welcome guest like cold water despite it was so hot first i took wrong room and after that waiting agin to change it.
Amazing Hotel
It was an amazing stay, excellent service with a smiling faces from all the hotel staff. The food is excellent including various Tunisian and sea specialities with a perfect availibility from all the Restaurant staff. Lovely Sea view from the room with a amazing Animation club . I recommand Bel azur espacially for families.
Some of the employees were rude
Best 4 star hotel
Great sea view The hotel is big. Pool is also So many activities Absolutely perfect
Not friendly for healthy eaters
The stay was mostly good. The food was not excellent for someone who is on a diet and there were not fruits or healthy alternatives dor snacks just unhealthy sugary processed foods. It was very difficult to find good quality lean protein in the meals either..
Nice stay at Bel Azur
The hotel was very nice and the room was spacious, clean, recently updated and had comfortable beds. We dealt with noise from our neighbors one evening, but otherwise it was a quiet stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The beach and pool spaces were very nice. Buffet food had lots of options - Tunisian and continental- but after 3 nights was pretty repetitive.
check in was chaotic as they got unexpected guests.... overall descent ( big hotel, nice scenaries , good food)
This hotel is well located in central Hammamet, close enough to the centre without being in the confusion of the actual centre. The rooms are dated, but well equipped, with comfortable beds and clean bathrooms with a proper shower screen rather than the horrible shower curtains you normally find. The gardens are truly beautiful and the staff do their best to make you comfortable. Breakfast is good, with omelettes made to order in front of you. Souhail, at the door, is a fantastic host and provides a true welcome. Great value for money.
Amazing stay!
Above 5 star service and hotel. The staff here are absolutely lovely, truly caring and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay here, especially the bungalow room and hospitality at our meals. The head chef treated us like family and all the porters and reception staff were genuine. The hotel is authentic so if you like a modern look, you may question it, but if coming to Tunisia, for me, it is about the authentic feel and we should appreciate this amongst hardworking staff. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
Staff was not very freindly and does not provide guidance or support. Resturant is a big mess in the morning no help from staff and all tables were dirty
We greatly appreciate their courtesy and care for the comfort for their customers.
4 Star in 2005 not 2019
First thing I have to say about this property is how have they maintained their 4 star rating? At most I would say this property is a 2 star. The property is far beyond its prime and I actually felt like I was stuck in a bad episode of Fantasy Island. The rooms and the hotel it itself are fairly clean but there is always a stench of sewage throughout the property and honesty, in the area in general. The pool area itself is nice but its definitely not the pool area plastered across advertisements and social media. For those hot tubs and views you actually have to go to the Spa which we only learned about the evening before we were leaving. The dining options at the hotel are also limited, unless you have the All Inclusive option. We booked half board thinking we could at least purchase something to snack on for lunch BUT THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AVAILABLE. There is no ala carte restaurant on the property and mentioned and everyone basically ignored you when they see that you don't have an All Inclusive wristband. Truly disappointing. I can honestly say, the best part of the hotel is the gift shop. The gift shop is like its only little Medina and the prices are definitely better or the same as what you would see in the actual Medina. I would recommend a visit just to shop there.
good location, staff, food. The room was clean like the swimming pool.
In General, This resort doesn't worth the money. Food are really poor, Services are really bad and drinks are expensive.( Since there is only full board on Expedia) Pools are small. The manger is pretty much arrogant. I won't suggest this resort for anyone. I had more fun in other resorts.
My hasbund was threatened by a manager in the hotel He was very aggressive and made a scene at the hotel restaurant he was shouting in front of all guests this manager thought we are not aloud to have breakfast which was included in our price He has no rights to behave this way My husband is diabetic and now we are heading to the hospital he’s not feeling good Very owful stay unpleasant experience with this hotel
Fabulous hotel, great food, staff, service and wonderful views!
Lovely place and wonderful staff ( the majority of them ) . Thank you for the pleasant stay . Recommend it.
We requested a double bed but it was two singles pushed together. During the night the beds moved apart and I fell through the gap... Requested an iron but was told someone else had the one iron in the hotel!
Beautiful beach and pool area, hotel and amenities were just okay.
Pictures are quite decieving. The staff were not welcoming. And the bed was probably one of the worst beds I’ve ever slept- was hard with no bounce to it. The room was incredibly hot, the AC did nothing to cool the room down. Food was decentish- they could have had more Tunisian dishes.
Rooms and not comfortable at all. Very old facilities inside hotel. We asked airport pickup no ome showed up. Rooms are not clean. No kettle or coffee provided unless you request. Pools area and beach are great.
Very very disappointing because this was the first time in my hole life that I have been humiliated and mistreated by the restaurant staff and especially their chief. I left the hotel after two days instead of four. I lost my money, I waisted my time and my vacation was ruined.
Good food and location.
Close to the beach, very helpful staff, excellent food in breakfast and dinner. However the room was very basic, beds weren’t comfortable, not very clean, bathroom needs work done. Other than the room, we enjoyed the stay.
Good family experience
This was our second stay at this hotel and we like it very much. The buffet meals are good with variety to appeal to a number of palates. It's worth paying the extra money at booking to get the half board option (which gives you dinner and breakfast at the hotel) since paying cash is very expensive. Rooms are comfortable, pools are really nice, and the beach can't be beat. We will be back again!
Very nice hotel next to the beach.
I had a wonderfull time with my family, the staff are very friendly especialy the staff at the reception and the accountant as well was very helpfull.the food is lovely with great selection, thanks to all of you at bel azur, thanks to the room cleaners who are working hard every day.i will not hesitate to come back next year inchaalah.
Always a nice stay!!
Staff if always pleasant, food is good with plenty of choices, pools are great, and the location is good for sunrises and sunsets.
Enjoyed every minute going back next year
My short stay at the Bel Azuz Juin 2015
Very impressed by the friendliness of the place, I enjoyed every moment from the very start.
Good in parts but too many serious complaints
The Bel Azur Thalassa is in a great location and has good facilities and a nice private beach. However it really is in serious need of an overhaul. The decor is a bit shabby, which wouldn't matter at all except that the hotel also isn't properly cleaned. The first room I was shown smelled strongly of drains, and the second (which I was given very grudgingly by the desk clerk), though less smelly had hairs in the bathroom, bedroom, and bed. Surfaces had cup rings on them, etc. - just not clean. Most of the staff here are lovely and really helpful, which explains the repeat custom in evidence here. Unfortunately there are some who are the opposite - on leaving I was told that my transfer to the airport was 50% more expensive than when I arrived - told by the same man I had paid on arrival. He insisted I was wrong about the rate and became quite angry when I showed him the receipt (which he had signed). When I enquired about the staff member, thinking I would complain, I was told he was the deputy manager! All in all a great pity as my holiday ended on a sour note.
The building of the hotel nice with big entrance area. Only 1 receptionist available but check in went okay. The staff that helped us to the room wasn't that friendly, as soon as I said I want to carry my own luggage he just walked ahead of us and barely waited (we arrived at night and it was very rainy so it wasn't easy to follow him) they didn't tell us where the room was, so we had to wait for the staff to be free to take us. We arrived at the room, state of the bungalow was okay, clean but still a bit old style and old furniture. There was not internet in our room (they said it was due to the rain...) and the TV in our room had no channels, and it only turns on, nothing to see. The half board option was good, for dinner and breakfast there is a wide variety of foods, meats, fish, rice, couscous, pasta etc as well as some stations where they cook in front of you. Unfortunately due to rainy weather we didn't use the outside pools, but the indoor one was warmed up and sort of full(as only swimming option) it wasn't a bug pool but was alright. They don't give you towels for the pool and it says you're not allowed to use the room towels there... Before leaving we managed to check out the beach area, with a bit of sun and it was nice (empty...) and seemed clean and nicely sized. Maybe in better weather the experience is different but for us it was just okay especially for the price.
I had a pleasant two-night stay at the Bel Azur Thalassa hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive to guests’ needs, making the experience even more enjoyable. The gardens, pools, and beach area are beautifully maintained, providing a relaxing and well-kept environment. The spa center is also very well equipped and offers a stunning view of the sea, adding a touch of serenity to the wellness experience. The cuisine is a real highlight: meals are varied, delicious, and well-presented. Each dish reflects a commitment to local flavors and impeccable quality, making dining a truly enjoyable experience. The only slight downside was the condition of the room, which could benefit from a bit more maintenance and equipment. That said, the beautiful view of the garden and beach from the room is definitely a plus. In summary, a relaxing and delightful stay in an enchanting setting with a staff that goes above and beyond.
This is the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed at. The room wasn't cleaned properly when we got it, the floor was dirty, the bathroom had a nasty sewage smell and the air conditioning didn't work very well. We reported this and they said we would get a new room, but we never did despite asking several times over 3 days. The cleaning ladies just came and sprayed the room to fix the bad smell in our absence.. They struggled to give us clean towels. Finally we just gave up and checked out of this nasty hotel. Save your money and stay away from this hotel. This hotel ruined several days of our holiday in Tunisia.
Consigliato!!
I like the foods ❤️
We had a nice stay at Bel Azur Hotel. It wasn’t our first stay, we’ve noticed some improvement with the food, it did taste good and better than last time we were there. Staff was nice and helpful except for some of them that were a little nervous but that didn’t affect our vacation. We will come back again for sure. Thanks!!
Hôtel excellent..mention spéciale pour le personnel et la restauration.
Très bel établissement, je recommande
Super
Un séjour au top !!! Le personnel très accueillant et sympathique. On a tous aimé 😉
terrible ! the hotel does not deserve 4 stars !! food is trush, rooms are very old. it should be a 2 stars hotel
