Solid 2 star property. You get what you pay for. Location is good, staff are great, rooms are just ok. Breakfast is not good: no warm food and limited choice.

An easy walk to town center. Staff was helpful. Great value.

Close to shops and even closer to places to eat. About a 15 minute walk to the very touristy part of Palma. If you have rented a car, you will have an incredibly hard time parking anywhere, but especially near this hotel. If you're walking/biking, this is a good place to be. Very, very clean. Nice and friendly staff. Highly recommend if you're staying in Palma and not driving.

While this was an affordable option, the air conditioning did not function at all in the room. Unfortunately the gentleman at the front desk was not surprised by this at all. It was also too late to rebook, so we had to make due.. but it was pretty brutal. Service was decent other than the multiple shrugs of shoulders after asking about the ac.

The property was simply worn down. The room walls were dirty and there was merely about 12 inches from the foot of the bed to the room wall. The AC in our room barely worked, never really cooling the room down below 75. The location was far way from the sights.

No frills hotel with 0 isolation - be prepared to unwillingly take part in the conversations with your neighbours. Very cold atmosphere in the lobby, ok for 1 night arriving late and checking out early.

I sleep better on firmer mattress. the mattress is more of a memory foam mattress. it was cold, but there was an extra blanket in the closet. heater fan was loud and had to turn off. there is a desk to work from and internet. breakfast was a little challenging because of the heavy carb options. but it worked. if i was a vegetarian who did not eat bread, it would be difficult to eat. staff was kind.

GOOD LOCATION LOTS OF FACILITIES NEARBY

This is a decent hotel in an off piste location. The whole building needs a bit of attention to improve the look & feel but it is functional. The Aircon seemed to vent hot air despite being set to cold air etc.........a friend at a different hotel had the same problem. No time to request a fix though

Hotel basic but ok for short stay and staff were friendly and charming. Music and singing from somewhere outside went on til early hours on Saturday, don't know if that's a regular occurrence but was v annoying

Pretty decent hotel but noisy

Abelux is located in a nice part of the city, not far from the Old Town. Make sure you have a map (my map app wouldn't update and airport info didn't have a paper map) so I wandered around for much longer than necessary. Helpful locals got me there eventually. Reception staff are very efficient. Breakfast is cheap at €6 - basic but plentiful. I stayed in a 5th floor room with balcony. I was very appreciative of getting a balcony on a high floor. I think the hotel washing machine was above my room, so there was noise from early on. Cleaners were also very loud chatting to one another. Can hear everything that goes on in next room, as walls are thin and there is no sound insulation. Street noise wasn't an issue for me (I live in a city centre myself). Room has mini fridge which is great for storing drinks etc. Power points by both bedside tables. Laptop-sized safe; I did need help getting it set up despite instructions in room. Bathroom is spacious with a huge shower (rain shower plus regular one). Basic toiletries provided. There was no recycling bin that I saw in the hotel, so I took my rinsed items to the street recycling bins. I never want daily room cleaning, so usually had the "don't disturb" tag on my door. Bizarrely, the cleaners left clean towels outside my room every day. Generally, I only want the room spruced up when towels need replacing. Overall, I was happy with my stay - room rate was VERY reasonable compared to other hotels.

Great Value Hotel

Stayed here for 3 nights over the weekend. Found the hotel very clean and comfortable. As other reviewers have said the walls are very thin and you can hear people in the other room but for the price of the stay it's great value! Would definitely stay here again!

Basic but very clean and comfortable.

A basic hotel which was good value for money and very clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. A decent size room and bathroom with a large walk-in shower. Only complaint was that our air-conditioning didn’t seem to produce cold air, it was warm air, but we did have sliding doors to our balcony to let in fresh air. We were in room 505 which was immediately opposite the lift, so that might be a room to avoid. Also room 515 was literally next door to the lift. I think the numbers run in the same order near you the lift for each floor.

A good, clean and comfortable place to stay in the heart of Palma

The property was really nice , clean and perfect as it’s situated in the middle of the town. Every shop , restaurants and bars are all walkable and easy to get to.

Terrible! keep away

When the ad says it's air conditioned it should be air conditioned! not some 1980's terrible pre-historic A/C that doesn't work and does not cool the room. The receptionist and the manager of the place [the latter rude, fake smiling, unsympathetic and not really caring] do not understand that a traveler on holiday does not want to wake up in the middle of the night because the room is a sauna and complain to the receptionist - even if he is given an alternative. The service i would expect in this kind of situation is simply called owning up to your job and responsibility as a manager and the advertisement on Hotels.com, and compensating or completely reimbursing the customer. We had a terrible experience on the last night of our trip to Mallorca and all that occured on the night before our flight back, we hardly got any sleep and woke up like zombies. In all my years of traveling that was a first. There is nothing wrong with advertising a hotel without A/C or at least install ceiling fans or just have regular cooling fans ready if a room is too hot and the terrible A/C system is not working. All in all - totally unprofessional service, amateur and unsympathetic response from the manager, i would not recommend it to anyone! Still waiting on that refund....

You get what you pay for. It's completely fine, if a little basic. The shower is decent and reception are friendly. The location is great. I've stayed here a couple of times because it is very close to where a friend lives.

Hotel Abelux is a friendly 2 star hotel in a residential area, within walking distance to Palma Cathedral and Centre. Easy access to the vintage train taking you to Soll which is well worth a visit. The staff were always friendly and polite particularly the lady who attended to breakfast who always gave a warm smile. This hotel is what it says, don't expect luxury but most adequate for visiting Palma on a budget.

Stayed for 4 nights. Initially, I was worried about staying here because of the negative reviews I read about the condition, the breakfast, bugs, walking distance etc. They are WRONG! After this, I will never look at reviews again. If you are looking for a nice and comfortable hotel in Palma to use as a base during your stay, at a good price, stay here! The rooms are really comfortable and clean The breakfast is basic but it's nice. Most mornings I had cereal, toast, banana and coffee. The staff are really nice! Two things to note though: the wifi isn't great. The speed is fine, it just dips in and out of connectivity, so make sure you have phone data. The walls are thin, so take ear plugs (just in case). I slept one night with ear plugs because of the neighbours, but my remaining nights where quiet and I did not need ear plugs. Would totally stay again!

Good budget hotel

We stayed one night and this hotel is fine for that one night stopover. Clean, comfortable, and cheap.

Fantastic location

Hotel in fantastic location lots of great places to eat and a short walk into centre of Palma. Close to train station and bus stops great for getting out and see more of Majorca.

Updated hotel close to everything

Pretty happy with the hotel. Location was great rooms are updated with mini fridge and a/c that worked well. My biggest complaint is that the doors and locks they upgraded to cannot be shut politely: they slam shut on their own loudly and if you try and close the room door you have to pull hard to do so. If you are looking for a hotel that you want to sleep in or if you wake up easily then be warned you will be hearing doors close all day and night.

A bit like a Spanish Ibis - very good

A good 3-star hotel with modern furnishings including a stunning rainfall shower (with hand jet). Beds did not look promising but I had tje best sleeps in months. Having to keep logging into erratic wi-fi was a minor annoyance. Friendly staff. About 15 mins from Estacion Intermodal by foot and in a quiet enough area for a city hotel (my trusty earplugs helped). There is a ped zone with bars and restaurants 5 mins down the western end of the street. Friendly staff. Nice stay.

Pleasant surprise

Hotel was modern clean and comfortable, definitely a lot nicer than a standard 2 star hotel, it's more of a 3 star really. Only a 10/15 minute walk from the main shopping area with loads of nice bars and restaurants. Overall a very good choice if you're staying in Palma on a budget

Good basic hotel near to city centre

The hotel is located around a 10 minute walk from the main bus/train station of Palma making for easy access from the airport or other parts of Majorca. I found the front desk helpful and proficient in English. The room was clean and modern, although the bed linens were a bit sparse.

Noise

Hotel is ok. We were on the first floor and you can hear the staff working from 06.00 onwards. Also other guests coming back in the early hours talking loudly and banging doors. This needs to be addressed.

Convenient and clean hotel

A one night stay in Palma whilst enjoying a longer holiday in Puerto Pollensa. Took the opportunity to take the train to Soller, and also visit the sights of Palma. Only 10 minutes walk from the bus and train station, but you would need directions or google maps to find the hotel.

Good location - only negative is the noise!

We stayed here for 4 nights and were happy with the location - easy to reach the bus/train station, the bus stop for the airport, the local shops and restaurants, the mercado gastronomico... The only issue was with the noise both outside and inside the hotel - with thicker windows/walls, we might have had a more pleasant rest at night. The AC was quite noisy too, but did work well!

Only if you're on a tight budget

We stayed here for one night before moving onto our final destination elsewhere on the island. We only recommend this hotel if you need one night stay, need an inexpensive option when travelling with family, or if you're not looking for a romantic stay. Pros: Cheap, near restaurants and bars where locals eat, quick and easy check in at noon, room surprisingly clean. Cons: Paper thin walls (we could hear the room beside us flushing toilet and "adult activities"), bed is uncomfortable (it dipped in the middle), and you kept having to sign on to your wifi everytime you tried to access internet.

Good hotel in good location-shame about the noise

The hotel is in a convenient location close to the bus station and was very well presented and clean. The beds were really comfortable and the hotel really impressed me with the gluten free items they provided me with for breakfast. What let the hotel down was the lack of sound proofing in the rooms. The walls are incredibly thin and you could hear everything from the room next door, I know the hotel can't help that we had a very amorous couple booked in next door, but we could also hear lots of street noise, refuse collectors, cars beeping their horns etc even though the windows were closed. So unfortunately although a perfectly fine hotel our break in Palma was ruined because of our lack of sleep. If you're a sound sleeper and can sleep through anything then don't let this review put you off as in all other aspects I would recommend this hotel.

My stay in hotel was not so good. Room was small but ok. We miss duvet have inted two blanket one with hole from smoking or so. We had one towel dirty from blood and as well we have all time problem with internet. Not working or was so slow. Breakfast was alringht. As well not so friendly staff. I will not return back for sure

Adequate hotel not too far from city center

My daughter was going to be studying abroad and this was the hotel where the students would be staying during orientation...since we arrived 5 days early we decided to stay here so she wouldn't have to move.

OK for a short Stay

The hotel is located in a quiet road but there are large number of bars /restaurents nearby. The room was good size with two separate single beds. It had an fridge , though it was empty. The bathroom was average size and clean. The hotel was clean and functional. The breakfast which was included was basic and had bread, jam, croissant , team , cofeee and orange juice.

Nice hotel in quiet part of town

Located 5 mins out of centre, I discovered a new and interesting part of town. Clean and confortable, i felt very safe as single traveller.

Visit Palma De Mallorca in June 2015

From Airport, take bus no.1 (3 €) to Plaza Espania, then walk 15min to the hotel. Very close to resto and supermarket area. Have breakfast and good ice cream, gelato at Boutique Del Gelato 5 min away as well as Kebab, Tapas, Pizza, Indian foods nearby. Tourist Info Office is right off Plaza Espania with map, sells tours, recommendations, etc. From Plaza Espania, it takes 15 min walk to Plaza Mayor and then 10 more min to Cathedral Le Seu & Plaza de la Reina. Hotel Abelux is very good in general, clean and helpful, friendly staff. TV volume is locked at 16 (not really good sound & high enough volume to hear). Got tiny ants on the floor, ask maid to spray then OK after ! They do not have soap bar, only in little sachets ! A bit far from center and activities (30-35MIN) walk, so plan your visit ! Nice beaches, ask hotel reception or tourist office 25-30min by bus. If have time, take tour to Soller Port by train+tram+cruise 50€ . Tour to visit the Caves costs 49€ . We do like this family run Abelux Hotel and recommend it ! Need at least 4 days min to visit Palma De Mallorca. Bon Voyage !

Pleasant stay

Had a very pleasant stay of 5 days, while I explored the city and the island. Walls were a bit thin.

Clean & modern hotel - very pleasant stay

Was a little anxious as didn't know what to expect with this hotel as everything else seemed to be booked for the boot show weekend - but was very pleasantly surprised - very clean & modern with nice room and added bonus of a balcony which i didn't expect but made all the difference. Lovely quiet street with nice bakery just down the road - very easy access to train / bus station and near a lovely restaurant called Bri which would highly recommend.

Clean hotel near bus and train station

Got the no.1 bus from Palma Airport and got off at Plaza Espana - €3 each! About a ten minute walk took us to the hotel. We were given a large room on the fifth floor with balconey, air.con., free safe, free wi-fi and clean towels every day. We found everywhere to be spotlessly clean and the reception to be very helpful. It is a 2 star hotel so it is basic (don't expect fluffy towels) but it was quiet, clean and safe and offered more than we thought for the price. There are several bars and eating places close by and of course it is near the amazing new train and bus station in Plaza Espana. Also there the old train to Soller. Bit of a treck down to the old town but you can cut through the shopping streets. We had a few days out on the buses so was handy for us. Went back to the airport by bus - walked down and jumped straight on one.

Nice hotel

Great little hotel. Little bit of the beaten track, but within walking distance to placa de espana (about 10 mins) lovely updated room. My only complaint was the towels were a bit rough.

Great couple of nights - If I'm ever in Palma, I won't hesitate to come here again. The shower was great, and both the room and the bathroom were spotless. Hugely impressed by the comfort of the beds - I had two superb nights' sleep. All of this, and at an incredible price - the cheapest I found.

Für eine Nacht ganz okay - für einen längeren Aufenthalt würde ich mir etwas Anderes suchen. Man ist aber recht schnell im Zentrum- Lage also nicht so schlecht & preis ganz okay.

Good hotel in a bit so good area

This is a good hotel in a less good area. But it is still close to a very nice pedestrian street and we never felt unsecure. We have stayed at Abelux three times and we will do it again. The hotel is nice and the standard of the rooms is good. I haven't slept this good in s long time. Really one of the best beds I've slept in for a long time. I do recommend Abelux.

Hôtel simple et efficace

Bon séjour dans cet hôtel simple. Nous avons aimé les services de ménage quotidiens, la douche et la chambre spatieuse, En revanche nous avons moins apprécié le lit (mou et oreiller dur) et le manque d’insonorité Un peu cher pour ce que c’est, mais ce sont des prix relativement bas à Majorque à cette période…

Insgesamt war unser Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Der beeindruckende Meerblick aus Zimmer 215, die erstklassigen Annehmlichkeiten und die ideale Lage haben unseren Urlaub perfekt gemacht. Ich kann dieses Hotel jedem wärmstens empfehlen, der einen erholsamen Aufenthalt mit einem spektakulären Blick auf das Meer sucht.

Everything was as expected. Regarding breakfast it would be nice to keep the cheese and meat separate. It might also reduce the crowd at the coffee maschine if there is a kettle for boiling water :)

Mycket serviceminded personal. Råkade ut för kraftiga störningar på Wi-Fi. Det var inget fel på frukosten, men ett mindre utbud och jag saknar något varmt att äta. Detta beror naturligtvis på priset och jag skulle definitivt boka hotellet igen

L'hotel ABELUX, è facile da raggiungere, in una zona tranquilla. La camera era spaziosa e aveva anche un balconcino. Gli addetti alla reception erano tutti sempre cordiali e disponibili.

Ein sehr gutes Preis Leistungs-Verhältnis. Sauberes Zimmer und Bad, bequemes Bett, Klimaanlage auch relativ leise. In ca. 300m ist man in einer Fußgängerzone mit vielen Lokalen, in denen auch Einheimische essen und die leckeres und günstiges Essen anbieten.

El alojamiento está a media hora andando del centro y al lado de la zona blanca para aparcar. Está limpio y relación calidad precio muy bueno

War sehr,sehr positiv überrascht! War nur eine nacht da und hatte keine grossen Erwartungen da es ein 2 Stern Hotel ist. . Alles super! Zimmer,Sauberkeit,Frühstück und Lage! Habe schon 4 Stern Hotels gesehen die nicht so gut waren. Für einen Städtetrip absolut zu empfehlen!
