Very clean and the staffs are very nice
The place was nice and clean. The bed was comfortable. The extra bed for our child was great.
The internet service was pretty horrible. So it was difficult to get work done.
Room was clean but no wifi inside the room.
.
Good location, great breakfast selections, internet is slow but that’s the problem of the whole area.
Great breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, lovely spacious room with a nice view. The wifi wasn’t great, but it’s not great in most of El Chaltén.
You don’t get what you pay. This hotel doesn’t worth to pay $ 200 per night . It is not very clean . It is outdated hotel.
Beautiful place, staff is super!!!
I am giving the property a one star review hoping the owners who may care about their business read it. The front desk staff (Sylvia) who checked us in was rude and short. The room itself and the bed sheets were clean, but there NO bath towel in the room, and the only “bath floor mat” was already soaking wet! I went outside and asked for towels and said the bath floor mat was wet, she said: I need to see it? I said see what? She said the wet towel and that there is no towel in the room. I explained my wife has just stepped in the shower, so you can’t go in… she insisted she needed to come in and see it!! she walked with me to the room, and I went in to get the disgustingly wet mat to show it to her; then she said: “but your wife is now in the shower”, implying the mat got wet because she has splashed water on it. My eyes was jumping out of sockets trying to understand why would she think I may lie!! So I asked her, “what reason do I have to lie about a wet mat?”, she said, “it’s okay… I am working” implying she is too busy and don’t have time to continue the conversation. She did finally give me fresh towels and bath floor mat. The Wi-Fi was also non-existent! We stayed at room 4, and the wifi network they said we need to connect to never showed up in the network list. When asking about a resolution, she said “El Chalten WiFi internet is bad every where and you need to be patient!!” A very disappointing stay, I do not recommend it unless they make changes!
Very convenient for both the bus station and the various trailheads. Close to restaurants and cafes. Good spread for breakfast.
Front desk was very welcoming and nice . Enjoyed the breakfast as well
Too expensive
Enjoyed the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice. However the hotel was very expensive and our WiFi didn’t work in the room. There was also no option to turn the radiator off and so the room was uncomfortable during the night because it was too hot. I don’t think the hotel is worth £70 a night!
Things they can improve on are the weak WiFi strength. It is not usable from your room; has to be in common area only. Also, the breakfast options are kind of limited.
We informed the owner about an issue to reach the property Instead they charged us as non show Congrats to Expedia
Good location. Friendly staff. Had corner room so had view of rooftops.
The staff was friendly. Breakfast was ok, only sliced bread and ham and cheese, with a couple cakes. Rooms were simple, no television but all you need if you’re in town for the hikes. Didn’t like that they charged me more than I had agreed to pay with Expedia. Buyer beware that they exchange to pesos as if they were selling you dollars which is a worse rate than the official, so if you’re paying with card or pesos, it’s going to be higher than you’re agreed upon dollar value. I will contact Expedia separately to sort that out but didn’t think it was fair of the hotel. Location is ok, about 7 minutes walk from bus station and about 1km from start it treks.
The room was as small as a queen bed. Tiles on floor looked filthy.
Good value, great stay
The room was nice and clean, well priced and the staff were all very kind and helpful. They allowed us to leave our packs while we explored the area so we didn't have to carry them around. They were very accomodating with our breakfast, even letting us have breakfast early before hiking. We would definitely stay here again!
Excellent location in El Chalten. Easy to get to area hikes. Friendly helpful staff. The hotel is no frills but perfectly acceptable for an active vacation. Would stay again.
One of the best trips of our lives. The staff at the hostel could not have been more helpful in accommodating our group and providing the best service possible. I would recommend this hostel to anyone traveling to El Chalten, and to anyone traveling to Argentina in general! We’ll be back soon!
It is very comfortable and accommodating. However, you'll need to watch your head on the ceilings due to the beams if you are a tall person. Breakfast items available were reasonable.
Good service from gentlemen in reception Poor breakfast Average place
Very nice hosteria, with friendly staff and a homely vibe.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It can be a little noisy in the mornings as the walls to the rooms are thin, but otherwise a great stay. The breakfast was large and nice. The wifi was a little hit or miss, but that's the same everywhere in town since its so remote.
Close to the Terminal de buses
Medium standard, nice and helpful staf although very bad in English, at least basal Spanish is a must; simple breakfast but for majority seems to be OK (for me too), rooms are rather small; common drawback of such places are very thin and acoustic walls. You may hear loud snore just behind the wall from the neighbouring room - it can really go on your nerves (be frustrating). Sleeping pills are of help.
Comfortable, friendly place to stay in El Chalten
Great place to stay in El Chalten, with very friendly staff. Wifi is only available in the lobby-breakast area (but again wifi is not very reliable in Patagonia in general).
Hiking stop in El Chalten
Good stay in El Chalten. Hotel was nice, service was okay but not outstanding. WiFi doesn't work in the room. We tried to stay an additional night but they were sold out. Town is small so location anywhere is pretty good.
Great place to stay.
El paraíso was located right near a Vegan restaurant and an amazing Massuese. It was a nice place and the staff was great.
Hotel in El Chalten
We had a problem with our next accommodation in Buenos Aires. The staff was very accommodating to let us use their computer as the internet connection is weak in El Chalten and hard to us cell phones. They also let us store our suitcases all day before leaving town. Highly recommended.
Good hotel
Small village. Hiking trails walking distance to hotels. Nice hotel. Good buffet breakfast. Good amenities. Clean room.
Excellent value with good staff
We arrived late at night after our bus ride from El Calafate. We had a minor issue involving hiking plans the next day and the staff immediately offered to help us solve the issue. The staff were uniformly pleasant and very helpful. The breakfast spread was decent. The room was clean. The wifi didn't quite work inside the room but worked okay nearer the main desk. Overall, our stay was pleasant and the hostel offered great value.
Perfect Location For Hiking!
I was really nervous traveling to Patagongia by myself but it all turned out excellent! As for the guesthouse, I was pleased. It was near to the start point for most ofteh trails and some of the best resturants in the area. The staff was nice, although their english was limited. I loved the fact that I had the option to order a lunch box for my hikes. Breakfast was descent; the typical argentinian breafast filled with sweet pasteries. The rooms were comfie and cozy. Downside: The owner's son and his friends often hung out in the lounge area of the guesthouse and they are quite noisy and rude. I tried to relax in the loung area after one of my trek (Since this is the only location you will get wifi) but I couldn't with how loud the teenagers were. Other than that, this place is pretty good!
Nice place...
We stayed one night, the room was cleaned and the check-in and out very quick. The breakfast was right. The place was quite, and close to the main town street, and to the access of "Laguna Torre Trail".
Nice small hotel with freidly staff
Very nice and cute small hotel for our hiking trip in El Chalten. The town is small, so it's easy to walk to anywhere, including the markets, restaurants and trail heads. Staff is very friendly with limited English. My room came with a peek-boo view of Fitz Roy peaks at Sunset.
Clean, Comfortable and Convenient
Great service and welcoming employees with perfect location. El Chalten is amazing and we loved coming back to El Paraiso for a hot shower and comfortable beds to rest before the next days hike.
Great Value for Money
The place is very roomy and clean. We had a room for 3 with private bathroom. The staff was friendly letting us use the fridge to store our lunch for our early morning hike. Breakfast was a good spread with various pastries, cereal and fruit. No real complaints. I would definitely recommend and stay again.
Good option for El Chalten
We really liked our stay here! The staff were very helpful (they spoke very little English but were able to work with out basic Spanish). The breakfast was pretty good - cereal, toast with a bunch of spreads, croissants, cakes and muffins, yogurt, coffee and tea. More protein would have been ideal considering everyone is there to hike. Our room was right beside the stairs, so we could hear everyone coming up and down with their hiking boots and heavy bags (avoid room no. 9 if you can). The internet worked well in the lobby/eating area, but not in our room. That's been our experience in most places in Patagonia though. On the whole, we would recommend it. It was comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful.
An average choice, a bit run down
The staff were helpful, but our room was very run down. The toilet door couldn't shut, the shower tap fell off the wall, little things like that could easily be fixed, but are not. It was a very average experience.
Take earplugs
The rooms are basic, not a lot of furniture or a tv. The receptionist are all very helpful. Breakfast was ok, lots of different cakes. Unfortunately the place is not noise insulated, every time somebody goes up or down stairs its very noisy the stair being made of wood. There is people coming and going at all times.
Pretty new hotel
Quite recent this hotel is convenient, clean and welcoming. As everything else in Patagonia, it is quite expensive for the size of the room but the staff is very accommodating giving advise with pleasure and helping out any gest requests. Location is great. Delicious breakfast, actually the best we had in Patagonia. Would strongly recommend.
Comfortable place to stay
The staff is very nice. They kept our bags while we hiked overnight. And best of all, we got our dirty trekking close clean in a few hours for $5. The breakfast has a nice variety.
Good location and quiet.
Easy walk to bus station and trail heads. No elevator so you might want to avoid second floor if you have heavy luggage. Some English spoken
Friendly, comfortable, short walk from bus station
Arrived quite early but were able to leave our packs in the double room which had just been finished. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff. No more than a short walk from the bus station.
Nice value - nice staff
Can't miss location - best bed so far on this AR trip. Breakfast buffet also a cut above. Nice views of spectacular mountains from room windows and the front porch!
Nice hotel, nicer host
We stayed in this hostel for a night. The host, Nadia, was really nice. If you are planning on day hikes, she can also provide you with really good lunch boxes: no worries if you are vegetarian, she cooks a rice and lentil meal for you. Overall, loved my stay there.
Real good.
This hotel was found to be just right for the trekking we had come to do. The staff were continuously very helpful making this a pleasant stay.
Great, simple place to stay in El Chalten.
This place is great to stay at- very friendly staff, warm, and clean facilities. Being a remote area, people should be aware of a few things- internet is spotty, there is not an English speaking person available most of the time and fresh fruit and vegetables are hard to come by due to the isolated nature of el chalten. In spite of all these problems (which I'm sure are not unique to the hotel) the place was exactly what we needed for our trip.
Nice simple warm friendly hotel
Great spot, only a few mins walk from anywhere in town or any of the treks. Breakfast had good coffee, cereal and toast, with heaps of cake. No meat/cheese/hot food. Always nice and warm inside and in rooms. The rooms were simple and everything you needed. Amongst power outages the wifi Only worked Intermittently
A place that ticks all the boxes
Having travelled Route 40 from Bariloche, Argentina we arrived at 7am into Chalten. Staff allowed us into our room despite Check-in being 12.00. Allowed us to shower & when we went for a walk they changed the double bed to 2 single beds as requested in our booking. Guess coming to Chalten in the shoulder season helped but the town was busy enough.
Good stay
Had a good stay. This is a decent priced hotel for the area. Good breakfast and friendly staff. English was limited. Great view of Fitz Roy! Don't expect fast wifi anywhere in El Chalten. Would stay here again.
Unfortunately we lost power and water while we were there for two nights and the wifi often did not work. The room was clean though and well situated.
Helluva Location
Clean rooms, great location. Right at the base of Mt. Fitz Roy. Staff was friendly; place was cozy. It was just a bit hot during the day in the rooms, as they didn't carry AC.
Nice place to stay
It was very good choice. I will stay there again. Nice rooms with big bathroom. Overall very good
Great little place
We spent five nights here and would choose this place again if we came back. VERY friendly staff, cozy feel, and nice homemade breakfast offerings. The hosteria is a great location in town, you can hike the major hiking trails from here without getting a shuttle to the trailheads. Loved it
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The staff was kind enough to let us change in the common bathroom after returning from a full-day excursion (despite the fact that we had already checked out). The location is perfect, walking distance to the tour offices, great restaurants, and the bus station.
Mt Fitzroy in comfort
Great Hostel in El Chalten
Very simple hotel, hot and powerful showers
Very sweet staff. Simple hotel. Breakfast left much to be desired as it was selection of grains only. No wifi. Slow wi fi was expected but the wi fi network was non existent the whole time we were there and no one knew what the network meant when we tried to explain it. No worries, hotel did the trick with hot water and high water pressure after great hikes.
nice Location!! close To Trails. Unfortunately, when We Were There, The Heater Was Broken So It Was Hot. The Host Was Very Helpful And Accommodating!!!
Hosteria El Paraiso Worth a Stay!
Very nice hostel type hotel. Very homey and friendly environment. WIFI was poor and no TV in rooms. Rooms were small but appropriate. Walls a little thin and noise carried. Very appealing reception area and dining room. The people were very nice. I would recommend it to others.
The hotel is in the center of the town and the staff was very helpul. Breakfast was good but I think adding something like jam or cheese would be better.
Great spot, once reservations were honored
This was a very pleasant stay but we had a huge mishap the first night because they oversold our room. They were able to find lodging at a nearby hotel but not with the room we requested (ended up with two twin beds when requested a double/queen for my husband and I). They were helpful but it was disappointing to book a reservation, which was prepaid, and end up in a room that did not even meet our reservation parameters. If you're going to El Chalten, check out Hosteria Alta Cumbres. It's where Hosteria Paraiso put us up and the breakfast was better and Sandra at the front desk was the most warm, welcoming host we could imagine. I would recommend Hosteria Paraiso except for the reservation mishap, which at 10 pm a night after a full day of travel is very disappointing.
Great location and staff!
Great location! Close to start of Laguna del Torre hike and many good restaurants, cervezerias, etc. Staff was very accommodating--packed box lunches, offered early breakfast.
Excellent room, but would like protein for breakfa
Excellent room, drying rack in bathroom. No eggs, ham or cheese at breakfast. No refrigerator in room. Tile floor and nice windows in room. Spacious. Could possibly use thicker curtains. I liked staying here.
Great staff, great hotel
This was one of my favorite hotels of my stay. The staff was great, and Gaby in particular was really helpful. Her English was also excellent which was great. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The room was comfortable and warm. Most importantly, the windows didn't rattle with the wind howling outside and that hadn't been in the case in most other places I stayed. As others noted, the room was small and a bit spartan. A few pictures on the walls would have made it more cozy. Otherwise I wouldn't change a thing. (p.s. Gaby deserves a raise!)
The rooms are good sizelis and breakfast was decent enough, mostly sweet stuff. Easy access to trekking paths. Would stay there again
Great value at this hotel. Location makes it very easy to get anywhere in town. Staff speaks English and is very helpful. I plan to return here in the future.
Adorei tudo!!
Everything was fine except for the Internet which was low in the rooms and in the common area.
Muito fraco
Limpeza deixava a desejar

Great location, very walkable to the start of many hiking trails, supermarkets, food, etc.. Beds were Ok, but the pillows were really uncomfortable and no additional pillows were provided despite requests. We had an issue with the hot water in our shower from day 1 (had to shower with cold water) and the staff were helpful in providing alternatives (for day 2 - shower in the common area bathroom) and ultimately changing rooms (on day 3). Overall, an ok stay in a wonderful town.
