Clean, well-appointed hotel. Comfortable, spacious room. Well-supplied breakfast. Coffee not even too bad.

Great base of operations

Cozy place to set up a base of operations for any period of time. Really relaxing and accessible.

Toilet didn't work in first room. 2nd room barely worked. Staff was never available.

Overall this is a very nice hotel, away from the Interstate, and much quieter than a previous hotel we had stayed at several weeks ago that was along side 380 & railroad. Every morning was a warm breakfast/ not continental. Nice pool & exercise room. My only complaint was we booked a handicap room as between my husband & I we have 4 hip replacements. The commode & shower was handicap, but the bed/mattress was lower than the commode, which was a challenge to get out of bed. The towels, bathroom tissue, & sofa cushions could use an upgrade.

We had a really nice stay. The only thing bad I can say is the room could of been cleaner. The breakfast was very good. Never had free breakfast at a hotel that was that nice.

They did not clean the room as stuff was left behind by last guest in spaces out in the open. Hair on the bathroom floor and tub. When we told the front desk they said they would make a note. This was unacceptable. I would have asked for a refund if it was through them personally I booked through Orbitz and don’t know if I could get a refund. Usually never have a problem.

This is the first time I stayed in this site. I truly liked the hospitality and the respect I received. The room I stayed was nice, clen and spacious. The breakfast was good. I will definitely stay there again.

It was updated and had everything we needed.

This hotel is great!! I have stayed there my last 3 visits and will continue to do so. No other hotel compares. The staff are friendly and always helpful. It’s great!!

This property was as expected, staff was friendly, breakfast was very good. Our room was as expected for a hotel. Only "complaint," I would have is someone on the 4th floor flooded their bathroom and it poured out of a light in our kitchen area. We informed staff, they did come, see it and turn off the water on the 4th floor, but we were left to clean up the mess on our own. A man did come to take a look, left and never returned. I never heard another word about it, nor did they come to assess the damage in our room to see if it was safe to use lights in the room. Other than that I do not have any complaints about our stay and would return.

We love the suites with separate living room/kitchen and also the bathroom sink separate from the rest of the bathroom. Also love the ease of use with the soap, lotion, shampoo & conditioner. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was very dirty!

I had just about given up on staying in hotels. This one was a home run. I was so excited when I saw my room. Clean. Well kept. The staff was fantastic!! I’ll be back!!

Ok for Overnight Stay

The base of the toilet was not thoroughly cleaned. The beds sit really low. However, the bed was comfortable. Overall, the room was clean. The couch was worn. Place could use some updating.

Staff was amazing and super friendly, food was sorta gross for breakfast.

Rooms are looking rough. Furniture in the rooms are uncomfortable. I do like the fact that the bedroom is separate from the living room and kitchen. The breakfast area is clean and well maintained. Sue the breakfast area attendant is wonderful.

Great Place to Stay

Great staff!! Clean rooms!!

Property was pretty run down. Our room was not super clean and there was no shampoo in the shower. The bathroom floor had not been moped. You could still see footprint from previous guest on the floor.

Lobby was very clean and updated. Room was dirty. Table had water rings on it. Bathroom floor, bathroom door and walls had quite a bit of dirt smudges/streaks/stains. Mirrors looked dusty and streaky. Complained about it and when it got cleaned a day later, it was better but not great and our beds weren’t made. If I ever stay in Cedar Rapids again, I’ll try somewhere else. Employees were very nice though!

The room was clean and spacious. The staff was very nice and accommodating. My only complaint lies in the comfort of the mattress. It was hard and not very comfortable. I prefer a softer mattress.

1st Time Stay at Homewood Suites

In town for a funeral. 1st time staying at Homewood Suites. Other family members stayed there also. Nice big room. Very quiet atmosphere. Good breakfast (thanks Miss Sue). Would definitely stay there again.

I've stayed there twice. Great location ! Only complaints the trash by the elevator was never emptied on the weekend and the conditioner pump in the shower ran out and they didn't fill it when I requested housekeeping. Overall a good place to stay and I will stay there next time

The kid at the front desk at check in was not properly trained for his job. It’s getting more difficult to find good help

Great Stay

I had a great experience. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would like to give a shout out to Adam in maintenance who came immediately when I had an issue with my microwave, resolved the issue and is an all around wonderful human! Great breakfast choices.

The bed was on 2 by 4's and when you sat on the end of it the top would raise. The floor in the bathroom was a little dirty in the corners. But over all it was clean and worked out well.

We were not told the pool was closed when we checked in, didn’t find out until we were dressed and ready to swim. No housekeeping to bring clean towels the 2nd day, sheet on our bed was so stretched out that it wouldn’t stay on the mattress, 1 pod of dishwasher soap isn’t going to allow us to run the dishwasher more than once. Very disappointed in our stay for the amount of money spent on what I thought would be a quality motel.

Do not recommend. Service started bad at check in and remained consistent throughout 2 night stay. From being downgraded in room by hotel without any compensation to no linen service. Asked for towels and were told we were allowed 2, explained there were 3 people and housekeeping did not service room. Was told they would send housekeeping up. 45 min later still no towels. Was told by front desk they were gone and I could come and get 2 towels. Only reason we stayed 2nd night was because Expedia took care of us. We travel alot and unfortunately will not be back to this hotel.

Poorly maintained Homewood Suites

Our stay was disappointing due to multiple service and maintenance failures. At check-in, the desk clerk did not provide breakfast information or directions to the elevators. There was no lobby signage giving directions to the elevators, which were hidden from view; we walked down the wrong hallway before we eventually found them. When we got to our room, the living room area had no electricity, we asked for another room. The desk clerk brought us room keys and took us to the room. In that room, I couldn't connect to the internet after several tries, and verified the room location on the phone which was needed for login which said Rm 201 but was still unsuccessful. I went to call the front desk, & the phone handle was not plugged into the phone, nor was the phone itself plugged into the wall. There was no cord all. I finally walked out to the hallway and learned from the door signwe were actually in room 203, not 201 as stated on the phone. The bathroom was in poor maintenance condition. The closet had a mirrored door, half of which was broken and would not slide on the tracks. The plastic tracks were dirty and filled with dust. In the room with the tub and toilet, the clothing hook on the backside of the bathroom door was ripped off. There was a towel hook on the wall next to the tub which was ripped off the wall and hanging. We went to breakfast at 8:50, before 9 AM close, and there was no coffee or hot food. The server was not empatheic nor apologized.

Good place to stay!

Hotel was very clean, room was comfortable. Service was good. Only problem we had was with key card. We were give 2 cards, only one worked initially. We went out for the evening and when we returned our key card would not work. We had to go back down to the front desk to have them recode the card.

I will never stay here again. Very poor property with lots of maintenance issues. Customer service changes there story multiple times and very dishonest.

It was an awesome room.

The front desk men were welcoming and courteous. The cook was sweet and made a delicious breakfast! On the other hand, when you are pet friendly there needs to be more thorough cleaning. There was dog hair on the couch and the box spring. The pool was Freezing! As was the temp in the pool area.

Needs some updating

The room was clean. I would have liked to have my room refreshed on a daily basis. I believe a room cleaning only would take place if one is staying for 5 or more days. I have stayed at this location multiple times and several years earlier. After staying at this location for several years this location is due for a guest room remodel. Some of the furnishings in the rooms are worn, in addition to the the bathroom fixture counters and kitchen area. As for the breakfast, I really miss the waffle maker. I'm not sure why Homewood Suites got rid of this breakfast option but I would like to see it come back.

Disappointed. Had high hopes but…..

Pros: breakfast in AM is was good. Lobby neatly kept. Cons : room was not clean. The ceiling f fan was covered with dust. ALOT of it. cobwebs noted. Carpet not vacuumed. Bathroom sliding door was off the hinge. Amongst other things. A slight odor from uncleanliness. Noise from other rooms heard through the walls and this was a room on the top floor. Overall 2/5 rating. Disappointed with my stay.

Good stay.

Was in town for a wedding. Perfectly adequate place to spend two nights. Was a little disturbed by sound from the hallway, and realized that the main door to my room had a good inch to inch-and-a-half space between the bottom of the door and the floor. Lots of noise came in. Otherwise, room was fine. Lounging furniture (the couch) was very institutional and rather uncomfortable. Positioning of TV was odd, although I didn't watch it at all. Breakfast was decent.

Horrible

We were extremely disappointed and pretty upset at our stay and service. I made the reservation 2-3mos in advance of our stay and asked for (2) cribs/pack n plays because we had 2 very small children. Of course they conveniently said they didn’t have 2 and told me it wasn’t on the reservation and it was I got emailed confirmations 2-3x confirming all the details and they were listed right in there. It’s just a convenient excuse to say it’s not because they clearly don’t known how to stay on top of reservations. We asked for housekeeping during our stay it only came 1x, it said to ask for it and we did and they never came. Their breakfast was horrid, made our entire family sick. Overall it was absolutely horrible stay I’ve ever had at a hotel.

Low water pressure. Shower meant for people over 6’4”. Otherwise, great.

This hotel was very nice.Great location!

Staff was young and unprofessional. I struggled with my key to get in the outside door. When I went back in and explained my issue he questioned if I knew how to use a door handle! Unfortunately my stay kind of went downhill from there.

Nice place near Collins

Very nice hotel. Have stayed at other nearby places, so far, this by far is our favorite. Breakfast was good, staff was very friendly check in and out was smooth. Rooms were large and clean. Only complaint was the elevator was very slow.

It was very nice to have a kitchen so we could have snacks and drinks on our trip.

The room was and rather large. But there was very loud noises throughout the night. My family and me barely got any sleep.

Great hotel

This by far as been one of favorite hotels to stay at. The front desk was extremely nice. There was a sweet lady who had breakfast ready each morning. Then between 5-6ish pm. the hotel has soup and salad. We stayed Wednesday through Saturday. It was very quiet my kids was at the pool at least once a day. The pool and exercise room always had towels. The rooms was very quiet and clean. We had 2 queen beds and sofa bed. For a sofa bed it was comfortable that 2 adults did sleep on it. The 4 kids wouldn’t sleep. So we put all the kids in the room with the queen beds. We will definitely stay there again. The hotel is located in a good spot between 100 and 380. Target is around the corner and a few places to eat. There a place for the kids also down the street.

Nice stay, unfriendly neighbor

The room was wonderful, the staff was friendly, but our stay was marred by a lady with a barking dog. Not only did the dog bark in the room but she played fetch with it in the hallway where the dog would bark most of the time it was fetching a ball. The lady thought we were mean because we didn’t appreciate her barking dog.

Nice staff but disappointing

The staff was really nice. The property wasn’t really as nice or up-to-date or as clean as may be it looked online. The bones of the hotel are nice but if you scrutinize the details it’s starting to get a little bit beat up and the room wasn’t exactly sparkling clean. We asked for housekeeping to touch up our room during the day on out two night stay and we’re told this is only done if you stay 5 nights. Not sure if this is a post-COVID staff shortage or what. Alao the pool my daughter was looking forward to was too cold to use. Nice staff but overall the property was disappointing and we'll go back to our go-to hotel on the other side of town next time.

Room was much smaller than the photos showed. Said it was 750sf. No way that was true.

Great accommodations for a family with young children

Very nice facility. Very clean and well maintained. Very quiet. My 4 daughter’s and I had pleasant girls weekend staying here. The only comment I heard was that elevator was small for this sized building and if you took stairs down, they ended outdoors

Everything was excellent except the pool/hot tub!

We loved this hotel. The room was large, clean, comfortable, modern and the beds were comfortable. There was also a regular-sized fridg, table and chairs, a cook-top, dishes and a dishwasher, which were great touches! The common areas were updated, clean and classy, loved the two-sided gas fireplace in the lobby/breakfast room. The breakfast was delicious and there were many hot and cold selections. The eggs, potatoes, sausage and pepper combination was excellent as were the yogurt, muffins, etc. My only complaint was that once we got there, they told us the pool and hot tub were permanently closed. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was because hotels.com said they had a pool. They need to update this on your website. You are allowed to go to their "sister property", the Hampton Inn, across the way to use their pool, providing the hotel calls first and they have room for you. This seemed like a hassle. Other than the pool/hot tub issue, everything else was excellent! Also, they accept dogs, so this was a real plus for us!

Quick stay in Cedar Rapids

Although it was a one night stay, we really enjoyed the hotel and the staff. It was a great room and convenient to highway. The breakfast was really good too.

Very Nice Suite

Not only were the living and sleeping rooms of the suite spacious, so was the bathroom. The beds and couch and chair were pretty comfortable; and a door between the bedroom and living area provided privacy and quiet if the occupants go to sleep at different times. The only negative was the beds weren’t made and the towels weren’t changed daily.

Due to Covid no linen service, had to ask for coffee pods for the morning… staff was not often at desk bug outside needing to be paged! The breakfast staff was wonderful!

I liked the rooms that came fully equipped with everything you need to prepare food in your room.

Clean stickers are deceiving.

Upon check-in we opened our room door to find nacho chips all over the floor. That was after they had put the sticker on the door to say the room was deep cleaned.Yuck! I was given a vacuum to vacuum my room by the lady at the front desk check in. Didn't expect to have to work as my own maid on my vacation.

Took quite a few measures to assure customers of cleanliness and sanitation.
