Not good
Great location
Nice location for a visit to San Antonio. Room was basic but clean and convenient for a couple. Dining area was pretty crowded for the size of Hotel. Parking was not at the hotel but close and fairly convenient.
Great place to stay
To far from Riverwalk.
Not bad, not great
The exterior had trash at the front each day. Same blue car parked every day where people pull in to check in, get Ubers, etc. It just felt tired.
great
The only bad part is the parking gets full quick
there were ants in the bed and the air conditioning didn't work
Nice and clean hotel. Have to walk to a parking structure for your vehicle as the hotel doesn’t have its own garage.
It was ok
Upon arrival, the staff was very friendly. Check-in was smooth. The room was decent. Floor was sticky for some reason, but I must say, the room was quiet, and very clean bathroom. Beds were so comfy. Stayed two nights. Close to good restaurants. Breakfast buffet wasn’t bad honestly. The on-site and off-site parking is horrible though. The on-site parking is super difficult to squeeze into. Getting out requires one to back up with very limited space. Off-site parking garage is a little better, but we were stuck behind the gate for nearly 30 minutes, trying all sorts of badges, eventually calling security, and customer support for the garage - ugh what a pain.
I had a very satisfying stay at the Holiday Inn! The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed. The staff was friendly and accommodating, making my stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and hassle-free experience.
Very clean and good customer service.
It was ok. Wish the help lead all friendly. Wish there would have been someone that knew some history on the hotel.
Quite
It was very beautiful. it had a bit of spookyness to it but it was a wonderful stay and view. Enjoyed our stay very much. There is much sight seeing around and dinning options.
Overall, our stay was fine. The parking fur handicap guests is unacceptable in my opinion. There is only 1 spot available at this property. I was also disappointed by the view from our room..
Swimming pool
The staff was very friendly. Great hot continental breakfast.
It was a good stay! For the price paid and location I think I would consider to stay for next San Antonio visit.
.
Great stay overall, but it would be good if the parking wasn’t a hidden fee
Felt unsafe
We enjoy staying there .
Real review!
Where do I begin? I booked this location because of the "good reviews" it had. I feel, either the reviews were made up or clearly we were given a horrible room. The room at a glance looked decent when we walked in. We left our bags and walked to the river walk. On our return we were exhausted from a long trip and from walking to get dinner. We chose to walk because the parking in this location wasn't the greatest and there was only one handicap spot. So, upon laying down we noticed that the floor was soaking wet. The ac was hanging from the wall and it was dripping water. One of the closet doors was wonky. We called front desk and let them know. The receptionist of course said there were no rooms available. She called back later said they had a room but by this point my older mom was already asleep. When we woke up we were covered in bed bug bites!!!!!!! My toddler, mom, older son, and myself have bites all over our hands, back, and neck. This seems to be a norm with holiday inn express hotels and I will never stay or recommend again.
Location was great/
It was advertised $10/night parking. I chose the hotel specifically for this. Got to the hotel, no parking. A parking lot was around a few buildings a block away and cost $5/hr to park there. I went with my newborn. It was very very inconvenient/unsafe and was falsely advertised.
close to River walk, but much less expesive than other hotels
Excellent
This Hotel is Recommended.
We went to San Antonio for the first time. The hotel is in a very good location. The room is large and everything is convenient. Breakfast was good and there was a wide choice. The price for the hotel was reasonable.
Unfortunately this property while the structure is on the national register of historic buildings, is extremely run down not very accessible to the patrons.and the the parking is very inconvenient. Handicap patrons should probably avoid this hotel as it is not very accessible.
Pretty close to river walk, rooms were pretty good
The Staff were very friendly, especially Latrice. The night when she wasn't there, the lobby was a mess. Bernardo
Loved the hospitality but wish they had onsite parking. That was an extra cost for overnight stay. Keep that in mind if you’re staying a few nights. Breakfast was great.
Elevator too far from the entrance
Love it
Amazing staff
The staff was amazing including the hotel housekeeper. When we got back to our room. They put all my kids stuff animals on the bed and the kids loved it. That made our stay feel more special. This will definitely be our hotel for our next stay. Thank you to all your wonderful staff!!!
Pretty nice rooms and delicious breakfast every morning on the dot
Almost got towed because of a misunderstanding with the front desk without being contacted at all. Then kept getting questioned on my age when i had shown my id at check in.
EXPEDIA should include if hotels have parking lot on the property. This hotel didnt have a parking lot, so we had to walk 2-3 blocks.
Staff was rude! Service was good one day the terrible the next! Breakfast was Great one day, then the next they said stuff had broken down in the kitchen. Very inconsistent!
This property is at the end of the Riverwalk, very close proximity to everything (close walking distance). The staff is extremely nice and helpful, parking through this hotel is $10 a day (must get parking pass from front desk).
It was very close to the river walk, room with a lot of space, good breakfast included
Good experience
I found the rooms dirty. To the point when i got in the shower after not wearing shoes in the room you could see the dirt. When they came into do what ever it was they did in my room the didnt take out any garbage until i complained about it and was told that yes the garbage is taken out. Came back to my room one day and the deadbolt had been left on by one of the cleaners so my room was open. I saw them do the same thing with another room. The hotel also smelled.musty like they have a water leaking problem. However the man thar checked me in was very good and went out of his way to help me with parking. And the were also accomodating when i requested a room change.
Beautiful remodel.
Nice
I will not recommend this Hotel
The parking was not on site. Need it to walk to pick up the car plus there was a 25 Dollars Fee..
Everything good.
Parking lot is on the back of the property, you have to walk around the corner to walk in the lobby
Good hideaway hotel.
Property is nicely situated within walking distance to restaurants, the River Walk, stores and entertainment establishments. The staff was very nice and friendly and check-in and check-out was really quick and easy. We will definitely be staying again when we return to San Antonio in December.
When I arrived i was in so much pain and the ladies at the front desk made sure i was good and made my stay feel welcomed
great location for river walk at a low price you will pay for parking
I like the hotel itself. It’s the parking situation that I did not like. The parking is too inconvenient
It’s not so bad
Normally i stayed on these hotels and they are good, but It smells a little bad, how to tobacco and in my preferences say free smoke so for me is not a good place for children’s. For the parking lot you need to pay 10 o 15extra and it’s located on the domino’s parking, and it’s very limited if you want to park in the hotel (also should pay). The breakfast is good and it’s near the River walk.
The pictures they use online don’t match the real one. The building is so old, not clean enough, the elevator doesn’t work, and they are not organized well.
I am 73 & my husband is 71. Room was clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Bed was so high I couldn’t get into it by myself!! I am 5’2”. I had to put part of my leg on the bed and then lift myself by pushing on the nightstand! Room had seating for only one person and the chair squeaked the entire time. Never seen a closet so tiny with only two hangers plus a hanger someone left! Was not told parking was two blocks away (very inconvenient for unloading luggage) and cost $10 a day!!! Steep steps to enter hotel that was difficult for me. Will not stay there again!
My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay here at this location, It was a historical hotel that held a lot of memories and the neighborhood was also very peaceful I would recommend this hotel 10/10! Also the complimentary breakfast made things much more enjoyable!
overall good experience
I always like Holiday Inn Express, and liked this one, but this one didn’t seem to have standards as high as most. There was very little light in the room. Plus, the couch was old and misshapen, and didn’t match the decor of the room. That's not the most important thing, but it's unusual to see in a Holiday Inn Express.
Really good and close to river walk
It was nice that parking was available but initially the process was a challenge, as well as navigating towards it. But it worked well, we are thankful! The room was clean & efficiently designed. It had the basic stuff we needed for a restful overnight stay. The elevator though needed regular checking to ensure it is kept clean from random spills, trash, etc. left by guests. Most of the personnel at the reception area were friendly and helpful (offering helpful options & trying to understand my asks instead of just disagreeing right away), shout out to Bumi & the 2 GMs.
Very economically priced yet within walking distance to downtown and all attractions.
Muy bien
Although my stay was very enjoyable, the care and the key eye of service of the housekeeping department was amaizing, it's shame I didn't get the name of the amaizing lady on the fifth floor, she was kind and went above and beyond upon a request. Thanky you.
Drive around 45 minutes getting lost because of road construction. Parking was inconvenient and was an extra $10 that was not mentioned at the time of reservation.
We stayed here for a quick overnight trip to go see my daughter’s cardiologist across the street! Staff was very accommodating and allowed us to have delayed check out to make sure we made it back in time! We will stay here for every trip!!
Great
Needs a better breakfast
They didnt allowed.me a place to left.my car i have to.go.and look.for a space even dought i am.a visitor
Is aGood location and Good staff!!! Good food too.
We had a great time
We had a great time. We will be back. It was next to sooo many things and Riverwalk is right around the corner!!
First it was hell finding the place then it charge me 2 times for parking and it charge me to cancel parking ticket, the hotel charge me for parking and there was a few surprises with hidden fees and loud room the ac was making noice and or something was making noice outside the room there was an ice machine so I think that’s what it was not sure it was very inconvenient from finding the place to parking to hidden fees room was clean it was ok just wouldn’t get a room here again.
Why is the parking lot disconnected or doesn’t even bave a pathway to the hotel
It was clean bed was comfortable
Good service
Very good service and very good breakfast
I think the property could use upgrades. The room I stayed in on the first floor was very dated and dingy. The bath tub was chipped and grout was dirty looking, the interior of the room was not what the pictures looked like when booking.
The service was fast and efficiently.
good place A1 service.
The carpet in my room smell like dogs! Maybe try putting tile all in the rooms and the hallway. But everything else was ok
Is good place to relax
Family time
I love the warm pool
When we arrived, bed was wet and smelled like beer. The front desk couldn’t find correct sheets to replace. We had to make the bed.
It was really nice
Good rooms, good service & great location! Parking was the only issue, I did not read that parking was not included so that was my mistake but other than that our stay was perfect.
It was walking distance to the riverwalk. The breakfast was amazing just the seating was a bit small. But overall we had an amazing time. Loved the history of the building.
The room was very clean, but it smelt like cinnamon or cloves.. and we drove 2 cars but only had free parking for 1 so it was an additional 25$
A+
Friendly staff
Great place
.
I love the history of the building. It was convenient for what I came to do. However, I had flies and gnats in my room. The tub was dirty and the refrigerator had a leak. I should’ve done my research in regards to the parking. The hotel seemed to have little room for guest to park and if you’re lucky to get a parking badge you can save money on parking at a lot next to the hotel. If not parking is $25 a night.
It’s a fun experience to stay at a hotel that used to be a jail! Super comfy beds (stayed here before) Good breakfast. Nice pool. Lemon ice water available in the lobby. Easy walk to River Walk. Great restaurants there and all around. Buy a hat at Paris Hatters and watch them customize it for you. Also Penner’s is at the corner near the hotel. Great stay but TV was glitchy this time.
Every thing was nice except for parking. Unique old historical building.
.
….
Nice hotel in a registered historical building.
Great service makes our staying 100 times better
Pay by my self parking, they had no batches for parking. Lobby for breakfast to little so we had standup breakfast. Personnel at the front desk it seams was having a bad day, she was rude.
