One of the elevator was damage. Only one for guerra and staff
Rooms are good. But breakfast lobby is way too small for the croud, and this becomes hell. Only one of the elevators was working, so it took up to 10 min to get to our room due to the jam. Bathroom was not vacuumed properly with many women hair on the tiles. Front desk not friendly.
You get what you pay for
The room was NY-small, which was fine for the price, but having only one working elevator for a 15-floor building was difficult. Also, a lot of the housekeeping stuff happens on the first floor, right next to the elevator. The pancake machine was working, but the dining are was a zoo since it was very small relative to the number of guests.
The staff was friendly, room service was excellent! Our room did not have a refrigerator, a staff member assisted with having one brought to our room in a timely manner. The location was great for walking distance to the subway. The area was clean, and felt safe.
Overall, our stay was decent, but we did encounter a few issues. One night, we struggled to sleep due to other guests partying in the hallways. They were smoking marijuana in a neighboring room, which caused our room to smell of smoke. These disturbances occurred between 3-5 AM, which we found completely unacceptable. We eventually reported the issue to the front desk, and security intervened, bringing the situation under control. Thankfully, we didn’t experience any further disruptions for the rest of our stay. Additionally, one of the two elevators broke down, leading to long wait times to travel between floors. Despite these inconveniences, our stay was overall satisfactory.
Close to msg good front desk people …nice and basic I would stay again
Only one elevator functional at busiest time of year. Would have been nice if it was at least being worked on.
Excellent choice
Great location; hotel was safe, staff efficient; except when we asked for extra pillows and towels. The front desk said they would order them. No one ever showed up.
Excelente la estadía, buen precio, rico desayuno, accesible a metro, lugares de comer, Times Square. Muy recomendado.
Great stay
Great location to explore the city. We had one room for a family of two adults and two children which worked well, as we only used it as a base to sleep. Bathroom was a good size. The room was well cleaned.
My initial impression was of the friendly, competent service of the staff at check-in. This was immediately forgotten by discovering that only one of the two, small elevators, was working! We were on the 7th floor. We had to wait for several cars to come and go before we were able to get to the lobby, the next morning, barely in time for the free breakfast, which was being cleaned up by the time we got there. The room was clean annd attractive, but there wa.s no comfortably seating
Pros: it is at an excellent location in NYC only blocks from train station. Price was good given that location. Cons: (these are actual events). The heat in the room was not working properly. No matter what setting, it was blowing out cool air and temp in room never exceeded 70F. Complained to staff multiple times; best response was maybe someone will look at it but don't know when. No one ever came in our one night stay. This is mid Dec in NYC. Additionally, there is only one operational elevator for this 15 stories hotel. That elevator is limited to 8 people. I was in the 7 th floor which means that I was never able to the elevator down.
In the middle of everything
Great location for walking to MSG which was where the venue for the event we attended.
Good
Great stay!!!
Wonderful stay!!! Check-in very easy and all workers there were wonderful and so friendly! Complimentary water upon check-in and during the stay. Hotel lobby very nice and clean and welcoming. Our room was very nice, clean and quiet. Bed was extra comfy! Bathroom was roomy and clean. Complimentary breakfast was amazing and such a nice perk being in the city. You don't find that at too many hotels around there. Coffee, juices, fruits, yogurts, cereals, eggs, potatoes, meat (sausage patties and links), and pancakes (best little make your own pancake gadget I've ever seen!). Breakfast area was always extremely busy, but all guests were pleasant and patient. Area is fantastic and within walking distance of everything.....stores, restaurants, Penn Station, MGS, other subway entrances, etc. We would definitely stay here again!!!
The hotel was in a great central location with easy access to transportation. The rooms are smaller but clean. The only downfalls are that it was very noisy when the people next door would go in and out and the breakfast area was too small. Otherwise, a great place to stay in New York.
The room size was great but the thermometer was broken in my room and it was FREEZING. I did ask for an extra blanket about 4 times until I said something to the front desk, advising that we’ve asked 4 times for a blanket already in which they admitted they probably don’t have any extra … the walls were also super thin and we could hear every single person talking or slamming their room door. The elevator was broken 2 times during my stay and the 2nd time was when I was leaving the hotel to go the airport and I had a check in and a carry on which I had to carry down 6 flights of stairs … the employees at the front desk are honestly not very pleasant but other than that the room size, comfortability and location of the hotel was pretty good!
Jaisa was the best hotel rep ever!
Will stay again
Will stay again! Very clean ! Staff was very helpful
The staff did absolutely nothing They would tell us they would attend to things and never did any of it Got ready to leave this morning and the ride I asked them to set up and confirmed was never called This place was the soriest place we have stayed in over the last 20 years
Staff was wonderful. Great value and super convenient to get to all the major sights! Delicious breakfast!
Great location, shame about the lift
This hotel would have had a four star rating, however, one of its two lifts broke down the day after arriving and still hadn’t been repaired on the day we left, we were there for. 6 days. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great location to be able to navigate our to do list.
Love the location, cleanliness, comfy bed free bottled water and breakfast! I just wished both elevators were working. 1 elevator only works and can only hold a max of 8, maybe 4-5 with the luggages.
Great location near MSG. Room was extremely clean. Only negative is that only one elevator was working and it would “forget” which floors people had pushed so it would go up and down to different (unselected floors) unless you kept reentering the floor #s (which is challenging with several people going to different floors). Great hotel and I’m sure they’ll get the elevator fixed.
Won’t stay there again
Had to stay in a basement room the first night because they ran out of rooms. Nobody would ever pick up phone. Not the best service. Location is great. Rooms were clean.
We were very disappointed to be given a basement room upon our arrival, after travelling all day from western Canada. We were told we could get a higher floor the next day, but that came with the inconvenience of having to pack up all of our things. Once we were in the 11th floor room however, it smelled very bad of sweat. It was horrible! We also felt cheated out of the complimentary breakfast that was offered on our first morning there. We had to leave the hotel early to get a spot for the Macy’s Parade, so we were unable to benefit from the free breakfast. It would have been nice if the hotel could have offered some “grab n go” breakfasts in a bag for those taking in the parade. We would have then received our complimentary breakfast and we could have started our long day with some food. Also, the elevator was not working properly on our 2nd morning there. I had a severe knee issue, and taking the stairs from the 11th floor was not an option for me. Other than that, the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. They gladly kept all of our bags for us when we switched rooms and again when we checked out. The complimentary water was also an added bonus!
I liked the cleanliness and the cleaning staff! They were amazing. We had many issues with the elevator and the breakfast area had to be left at 10am sharp. The reception staff didn’t explain the facilities and how some things worked in the room. We found out 2 days before leaving that we could get ice from a machine in the ground floor. We had a great experience with the Night Shift reception staff.
I am a solo traveler so the room size was enough to meet my needs. More than 2 people can be a little tight. 10 minutes walk from Penn Station which is great to travel around the city via subway system.
Close to Penn Station so Uber Shuttle dropoff and pick up for LGA was convenient and short walk to Highline and many areas of interest. Breakfast was more than adequate, rooms comfortable. Our one issue was that one of the mornings there was a large group checking out and we had to wait for a while before we could go down the elevator from the 10th floor.
Loves our stay
Not the best stay but at least breakfast was included & centrally located. Don’t set your expectations too high. Noisy hallway & elevators were finicky.
Good choice to stay here for events at MSG.
Staff was friendly . Good breakfast
Our 5-night stay was great for the most part. The hotel is nestled on 29th between 7th and 8th, and conveniently located close to the subway and lots of food options. It's a close walk to the High Line, Madison Square Garden and Times Square. The room itself was very nice, seemed recently renovated, albeit small (I guess this should be expected for New York). The hot water took a while to heat up, especially in the early morning, but it was great when it worked. I wish there was a way to tone down the bathroom lights as they were quite bright around the mirror. The one major con has nothing to do with the hotel, but there's quite a bit of traffic making its way down the one-way street and there was a lot of noise outside (drilling and garbage trucks) between 3-5am. Bring earplugs or request a room on the other side of the hotel.
Everything was wonderful willl definitely stay here again
Wonderful
Easy transfer from JFK via train services to Penn station and a 5 minute walk from there
Quiet walkable and convenient
Excellent
Great location
great service
Loved the location of this hotel in Chelsea. Quality rooms and very nice complementary breakfast and water. The two rlevators can be a bit slow when the hotel is full and busy. One elevator was out of order for a few hours on two days which was quite inconvenient.
Our rooms have been canceled without notice.
Attention!
Bed was great Bathroom was really small and uncomfortable Toliet paper and flushing stick was unreachable
Clean and friendly
Additional fee added to my card wirhout my permission - only asked for returnable deposit (which they returned).
Excellent stay. Everything was very clean and the service was always friendly. excellent located
Hotel was very clean. Continental breakfast was awesome. It had a huge selection of foods.
The Holiday Inn Express in Chelsea is a great option in New York City. Centrally located in Chelsea it is in a great location, walkable to most other attractions and neighborhoods. The hotel provides all of the basics at a reasonable price. I would recommend.
Great location. Close to Madison square garden!
great breakfast buffet with lots of options and variety of foods. Nice outdoor space. convenient location to subway lines, Penn station and many tourist areas
Noisy. Very small room
U
Okay
Came in for a MSG concert. Super convenient! Busy place. Rooms are small. Didn’t expect anything else being NYC. Small elevators which could not accommodate busy times. Breakfast is nice. But when busy, it’s crowded. Please, if you are traveling, be kind. It doesn’t matter where you are coming from. Treat people the way you want to be treated.
Friendly staff and excellent service!
The front desk staff was AMAZING! They were so friendly and helpful. I was extremely happy with the service.
Great hotel for NYC stay
Great hotel for a short stay in NYC. Good clean rooms. Breakfast can get v busy at certain times and difficult to get a seat.
Central location
Lovely stay, staff friendly. Only negatives was not enough room for breakfast and lift not working.
Bad service
Arrived at 3pm, room was not ready and had to wait for another 20 minutes. Phone is not working in the room. First night, out of soap and went down to reception and asked for it. After waited for an hour still nobody came. Went down to reception again, not helpful and no soap given. We decided to go to convenience store at late night to buy a soap.
This was our first time in NY and I am glad we stayed here. It's very close to the main attractions. We had an amaizing stay here. breakfast was good. Very clean and I like that they have an scale in the lobby to weight your luggage before departing. Thank you.
Pretty fair
Clean hotel, nice quiet room. Shower average, but fine. Had coffee maker in the room, but had to keep asking for coffee pods as the housekeeping didn’t leave them automatically. Breakfast was okay, better on some days than others and the pancake maker wasn’t great. Awful waste of plastic cutlery, polystyrene cups - come on USA!
Great location.
Good location for Amtrak…we would stay again when passing through on Amtrak or wanting to stay in this area of NYC.
Great spot. Really central and comfortable rooms
New York City Girls Trip
Your staff was fabulous from check in to check out. Property was convenient to go anywhere. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh. Very clean. I will stay here again.
The room was spacious, clean, the front of house staff was excellent and helpful, the location was ideal and good restaurants near by.
The hotel is a no-frills hotel in a great, walkable location. The hotel interior gets to be a bit loud with doors slamming and people talking. The bed and pillows were amazing! One of the two elevators were broken so the wait for the remaining elevator would get a bit tiresome. All in all, would recommend.
The room was clean and everything was great with the room, but honestly the night shift staff was not hospitable at all, the elevator didn’t work the 3 days I stayed, so it was really annoying to wait for more than 15 minutes to get to my room, most of the times I used the stairs and I don’t care, but my parents doesn’t have the youth I have.
The staff was very accommodating and wonderful. I cannot say enough about how wonderful the staff was!! Our first night my daughter got very sick and the front desk staff and engineer were so accommodating to help her feel better. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel was so very busy at times there were no place to sit at breakfast. Breakfast foods were fresh and delicious and they kept the food full. We absolutely love the pancake machine! There were so many people in this hotel. With this said there was ONLY ONE functioning elevator in this 15 floor hotel for the 3 days we stayed. We were on the 8th floor, it was not feasible to take suitcases up and down so many stairs. The wait for the elevators was ridiculously long! Many times the elevator stopped at our floor and the occupants would just wave at us because it was so full. This is not acceptable. My daughter was late for an interview because of the elevator We would love to say that we would stay here again but extremely hesitant if there is only one elevator
Nicely renovated but small.
Great hotel with clean, large rooms. Good location.
Overall it was good. Staff helpful as they can be for such a busy hotel in a busy area.
This is a basic hotel in a convenient location. Nothing smart though and breakfast is awful
Room was clean and stuff new. Breakfast was okay. Location was good and close to subway. Walkable to times square, shopping stores, restaurants and grocery stores. Lobby, dining hall and gym very small.
Front desk lady was rude and unwelcoming upon check in.
no fridge or microwave in room. Room service nonexistent - they were always short staffed. Had to call front desk 3-5 times before someone answered. Dirty telephone whose speaker didn't work. Dirty ironing board - had to iron clothes on bed. Bath towels were old, small and thin - could've been dirty too but hard to tell. Staff at front desk were friendly. Unlimited water bottles which was nice.
Hotel is in walking distance to subways and attractions. Not too much food options, but there are some food places and bars at a close walking distance. Rooms are clean and comfy, a little tight if you get the corner ones but overall good size.
Very good hotel at this price. The only issue is with lifts. In the morning it takes a while to take one
Very enjoyable for a short stay. Location excellent and safe
Definitely Will Stay Again & Again
Had an amazing girl weekend with my teen daughter & friend. The convenience to sights, Madison Gardens & Penn Station was great! Staff, cleanliness & atmosphere was welcomed & appreciated! My family & I will most definitely visit & stay again.
Great location! Super comfy beds!! Pictures are deceiving…rooms are TINY! Barely enough room to walk around the beds! One of the elevators was broken for our stay which made things a bit inconvenient. Overall, good location and fair price.
The elevator wasn't working, one employee was sitting there staring at the wall letting the hotel phone ring, another one was on his phone, a different hotel patron that had been waiting for the elevator with us when we finally decided it wasn't coming down to us let one of the employees know the elevator seemed to be stuck and he said "oh s**t" and left the building?" And we asked where the stairs were and the other employee rolled his eyes and pointed and directed us down the wrong hallway like was literally sending us down into the basement these people had no clue where they were at. The place was hard to find, and not that updated or clean or renovated like the website brags about and there wasn't nearly enough seats at breakfast. Wouldn't recommend
Everything worked out great. Staff was helpful, Room was clean.
Me encantó la ubicación. Cerca de lugares de interés.
walkable to train station
Quality service
Very good location. Convenient to go to Penn station
I would like to express my satisfaction with my recent stay at this hotel. The check-in process was both fast and convenient, setting a positive tone for my visit. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast offered daily, which provided a pleasant start to each morning. Additionally, the room was updated and had a modern feel, creating a comfortable environment throughout my stay. I must also commend the cleaning staff for their warmth and helpfulness, which added to the overall positive experience at your establishment. Thank you once again for a delightful stay at your hotel. I look forward to visiting again in the future.
Late check out flexibility, great breakfast and completely affordable
We reserved 2 rooms with queen beds but given with king bed. Rooms were not ready when we arrive. When i asked Front desk ( Jamie ) he replied very rudely that they are overbooked. I never felt so bad in front of my family But when you have reservation you expect it should be ready. Never seen such a poor hospitality in my life. Like the location, breakfast and waterbottle jesture.
Renovated hotel in a convenient location
Fantastic location will book again if we go back to NYC
This is my second stay here was nice breakfast fast could be a little better.
My bed nor the bathroom were ready when I got back at 3:30 pm
I like that it was close to Penn station and we had access to lots of activities with subway line 1 closeby.
Fine
Excellent location and amenities, including breakfast, free water and use of hotel bikes.
I am not one to usually write reviews but my stay at your accommodation warrants one. Apart from the location being near sites and train stations, nothing good comes out of your experience in this hotel. Firstly, that damn elevator needs to be fixed. You got over 15 people waiting in line for one Mesozoic lift that might make you stuck if you’re unlucky. Breakfast was a nightmare. Seats aren’t enough and your meals could induce a heart attack in two minutes with the poorest array of viands for consumption. They shouldn’t be consumed. No veggies or anything fresh aside from bruised apples and oranges. Poor staff and maintenance response. It was freezing cold inside our room with a faulty thermostat and an even more faulty GE heater. Rang staff and the front desk a few times and they will either lie to you by saying that maintenance will come in an hour OR they plainly don’t respond your call. So you have no choice but to use said crappy elevator to throw a fit downstairs to get their attention. Moreover, what’s up with the hidden fees? A destination fee of $28.69 is outstandingly expensive for such a crappy service with absolutely NO amenities. It’s also absurd how your staff promotes “FREE” water per day of stay without having to mention the mandatory fee that you’d have to pay to drink the damn thing. They don’t even mention it when checking in OR checking out and just deducts it to your $150 deposit upon check in. Absolutely ridiculous. Not to mention there’s
