This hotel is one of the worse hotels in the IHG chain. While some staff mainly the non-managerial ones are great, but most of the staff are rude and impolite, their gestures and way they talk to patrons is not really something that reflects IHG hospitality. Checked into the hotel with my family (family of 3) and literally was given a room that dont even have enough space to keep two baggages properly. Had to upgarde to a suite next morning for additonal $90 per night to get a decent size bed that can fit 3 since they are charging me 50 Manats extra per day for additional bed(even after charging extra for the additional guest). Even getting a suite and being a platinum elite member, have to ask every day for additional towels and plates, glassses etc. Credits Cards dont work, bathrooms gets water logged, AC vents drips water, no supply of moisturizers, but above all the rudeness of the managerial staff adds the last straw, better be with Marriott or Hilton even though it will take $20/30 extra is a much wiser option. AVOID this hotel.

Numerous Issues Encountered During Hotel Stay

A lot of guests were smoking in a non-smoking area (elevators, corridors, rooms) without consequences from the hotel's side. Both the hotel security and I saw this but didn't act. Additionally, the smell spread throughout the entire floor. Guests were also cooking in their rooms, making my stay noisy and horrible.

Excellent hotel with all facilities

The hotel was conveniently located in the centre of the city. We were upgraded to a suite and had a lovely time. The front desk staff were particularly helpful. Wifi was good. Would certainly recommend this hotel and stay here again. Thank you!

Requested toliet roll not done. Had to buy swim cap to use pool. Locked out at 11:45 checkout was noon. No robe. Sloppy service, care less attitude.

The Hotel was very clean and availability of hand sanitizer and masks were everywhere in lobby and on every floor near the elevators. Staff all hours were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was Ok with a variety of choices including fresh made omelets! breakfast staff was very attentive and helpful. location is Ok not near many active venues or restaurants but a quick cheap can ride.

Great hotel but not great welcoming

Reception was asking weird questions if we have marriage certificate abd also had to wait since hotels.com reservation was not in their system. No smile from staff and weird questions, and face expression “no welcome”. Hospitality of staff needs to be improved. Being a gold member does not mean anything to them :)

We stayed at Holiday Inn Baku with the family and had two rooms. The rooms were spacious and clean. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the staff was very friendly and courteous. Excellent facilities as well: gym and pool. Will certainly visit again.

The location is excellent. The gym is better than most hotel gyms. The staff are unusually helpful and attentive.

It takes at least 3 times requesting things to get them done. Our booking was for a non-smoking double bed. We were given a smoking floor twin bed. They said they will combine the beds; but took ages until I requested one of the nearby housekeeping staff to do it for me. They also promised to look for a room with a bath tub but did not receive any reply from them. I called at least 3 times before they got me a baby bed. I called and requested in personal the house keeping to empty the room bar for me but was not done. Honestly terrible guest service for a holiday-inn.

There was some problems with air conditioning system. And it was a door to a next room, which does’t isolate sounds from it.

The hotel is generally fine, but they are charging 40 Manats for the guests if you have a visitor.

Room was big, lovely view, comfy bed, wide window hence it was nice and bright. Bathroom was a good size, Don’t expect fancy smelling shampoo etc basic mini bottles but no lotion. Breakfast was a big buffet, staff at the restaurant was very nice and professional. Food at the hotel was not good. I ordered room service for two nights and the third ate at the restaurant, only one other customer was there which should have given me a clue about the quality of the food. I had a great massage though, best massage I had in ages.

I booked as one person but it was mentioned during the process of booking that this will have breakfast for 2 , when my friend went to have the breakfast they asked him to pay and he paid for 4 times during his stay it’s not fair

Mattress Too Soft

Bed mattresses could be little firmer as it gave me back aches in the morning. Due to this I had disturbed sleep as well.

It was amazing like it should be with Holiday Inn. Food People Hospitality Humbleness everything was beyond amazing.

The hotel could not provide simple request to add ginger to make honey and ginger tea. On check out the staff was very unfriendly and inhospitable. Makes me think do they really want me and my team back there in the future. Baku has plenty of hotels to choose from.

We chose holiday inn as our accommodation as we were attending the bmx world championship a great choice being in the heart of the city, staff were very helpful and freindly, had an great choice at breakfast and again waiting staff were helpful and friendly Overall a great place to stay

Holiday Inn Baku

I stay at this hotel every time I visit Baku and always have a pleasurable experience. Staff are courteous and professional and what impressed me the most was that my requests for late check out and room preference was instantly granted; something unusual at other top hotels in Baku where the staff always have an excuse for not fulfilling special requests. Hotel is not your typical HolidayInn in other European cities- this is a modern, top end property with very good facilities and comfortable rooms. Location is simply perfect- at the heart of Baku city centre and very close to Port Baku where you can find plenty of great restaurants and bars, and a high end shopping mall. Overall a perfect stay and will return in September!

A modern, comfortable, well-styled, spacious (rooms and public areas) and practical hotel (in which everything works as it should)! The friendly and helpful staff are a real asset to the hotel. Great breakfasts - excellent choice, and service by the staff - on the top (18th) floor with views. A pity that building works are partly interrupting the sea views, but I wouldn't let this put you off. Its definitely a good place to stay!

Very clean and nice hotel. A bit far from the center. Taxi only cost 5/- to the center. Nice breakfast with variety of food. Excellent staff, very friendly and accommodating. The only issue is their twin beds are very small

A hotel like home!

It was an excellent choice! The location of the hotel was amazing! The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming with a big smile. We felt at home! The staff at the Marina restsurant are awesome! We will definitely stay there if we go to Baku again.

the staff was unhelpful , we ask for extra blanket but they don't have !! , also when we check in the reception the reception girl refuse to give us 2 cards for each room , she tell us you have too much rooms and we have a limit cards !!!

Relaxing and clean hotel

The hotel is a very good choice price/quality wise. It makes you feel relax when you enter the hotel. The service at the reception was very friendly and helpfull. The restaurant was not what I expected, which was the only thing what lowered the rating. But the hotel is close to the old city, where you can find a lot of restaurants.

We were a group of 35 people with children The front desk people are very polite and attentive and answered all our questions and requests in a professional manner The rooms were spacious and nothing negative about them except the fact that although the wifi was free it didn't work well in certain parts of the room

Comfortable and pleasant stay

The hotel itself is in modern style with good quality rooms, perfect Internet and normal spa facilities (however it food be better if the indoor pool was on a higher floor with a view on the city). The service of the hotel is very good, beginning from check in ending with check out (Staff meets you friendly, is supportive and fast, so the both check in and out were pretty fast without any annoyance). In room dining was also good, it was brought exactly on time and the food was tasty. The location of the hotel is also good it takes, by walking, approximatively 10 minutes to get to the Boulevard and half an hour to old Baku (one of the main sightseeings). The only minus which I can indicate it the air conditioner. It was either cold or hot, but it was not very annoying so we did not ask to rectify the problem (and maybe it would be possible to.... ). Anyway to summarize I would suggest this hotel because it provides good value for money.

Reasonable value business hotel

I stayed at holiday inn Baku for first time Clean and tidy room as you would expect , I was upgraded to a sea view room , which was very comfortable. A few minor issues such as • the mini bar was like warm and not well stocked. •Poor /limited selection of English TV Chanel's available. On. The plus side the Staff were friendly and efficient

Great Baku choice

This is an excellent hotel choice. Near the boardwalk, the amusement park, other lovely parks as well as a short colorful walk to the old city. Close to shopping centers, and to a number of good restaurants. Breakfast was great. The view from the breakfast room on the 18 th floor is super. A great stay for the money.

Good hotel in the nice area

Hotel rooms are spacious and comfortable, staff is professional and attentive. Located in the nice area, close to sea and shopping malls.

Good Business Hotel

Relatively brand new hotel. Nice furnishings. Nice neighborhood. Close to Fountain plaza area and Old City area - about 5 minutes by taxi. Wifi is free but slow and sometimes intermittent. The lobby bar is nice but is almost always empty. 18th floor restaurant for breakfast has very nice views.

Trip to Baku

stayed in this hotel for 3 nights to visit old city. Good comfortable hotel but I had booked first night for a seeview room but the view was blocked by construction work on another hotel. So for the next 2 nights changed to city view at lower price. Hotel is a bit out of way to visit old city but I did not mind a bit of walk, otherwise taxis charge 5 dollar.Breakfast was standard European style

Holiday Inn Baku advertise they do have a swimming pool, however it doesn't work for months. Reception also can not give clear answer when it will be available again.

Gute Wahl für Städtetrip, aber…

Das Hotel ist gut gelegen und die Zimmer sind sehr gross. Leider aber zieht es in der Klimaanlage den Rauch (Zigaretten) rein, so dass es im Zimmer danach riecht. Auch waren die Betten zu weich. Ich würde aber bei einem weiteren Baku-Aufenthalt nochmals dieses Hotel wählen.
