Its a very good staff and pleasant. They recognize me from past stays . The property has a few issues since become a Hilton property...one example the bath towel it was with holes. I literally told the housekeeping they need to trash that towel, as matter fact that towel should never being in guest room period.

Great hotel in Porto Alegre

Very nice hotel and great location in Porto Alegre. Lots of restaurants and shops around. There is a nice park nearby for walks. The food was great. The gym has a good variety of equipment. The spa services are very good. Every once in awhile there were some weird smells that were not pleasant, but overall great place to stay.

This was a Sheraton for a million years and changed hands to Hilton a year or so ago. The decor is 40 years old, as are the carpets and most of the furniture. It's the kind of hotel that you don't even want to take your shoes off when in the room because the carpet is so revolting and dirty. I thought that when the Hilton took over they would invest in a renovation but from my recent experience, apparently not. This is the "best" hotel in Porto Alegre which says a lot, I suppose. It's truly a dump.

This hotel is adjacent to a modern shopping center offering high quality entertainment, dining and shopping options. The neighborhood itself is one of Porto Alegre's best urban residential areas and is loaded with many excellent dining options within just a few minutes walking distance. The shady and pleasant Moinhos park is 2 blocks away. Service at all levels is excellent, and the rooms have a great view of the city and the river. If I could wish for only one improvement, it would be for more variety at the breakfast buffet.

Staff is great, with a few exceptions: 1 - valet are not well trained - they greet you, but never ask if you need help. You can only wonder if they have already been informed you need your car. Most of the times you wait only to find out they have not. 2 - staff at the breakfast buffet is net very well trained either - they get orders wrong, and keep asking you the same question over and over. 3 - cleanliness- last time the bathroom was not very clean. All the rest is excellent.

The only good in this hotel is the neighborhood and the Lady serving in the restaurant. The rest is terrible. 1. Since I got in the hotel, the AC can’t keep the room cold! Not what I am expecting from a good hotel company. 2. The rooms are quite dated. 3. Not good amenities. The pool area is dirty and disorganized. Such a disappointment for Hilton. Save your money and just book a cheaper yet newer hotel with good AC system. I definitely don’t recommend this hotel.

The staff was welcoming as soon as we pulled up. We were assisted with our bags from our car to or room. The front desk answered all our questions before we asked them and they provided us with another room because ours wasn't ready because we checked in early. Best of POA

By far, this is the best hotel in Porto Alegre. Service is top of the line. You pay a premium for comfort and attention to detail. I will recommend this hotel for travelers who need to communicate in foreign language, as most of the staff is able to speak english.

This is a very fine hotel, well appointed, with a an extremely attentive staff. It is luxurious, and while the building is a bit dated, there’s quality and refinement throughout. Very comfortable bed and spacious room. The bathroom is large as well and the shower is tremendous. I always stay as this facility for the amazing location, the staff, the luxury comfort, and especially for the incredible breakfast. Really tops!

A Nice Place, But...

Generally, a welcome stay again at the Sheraton Porto Alegre. The staff is warm and generous with their time as always, and the rooms are comfortable. However, on this return visit, I could not help notice two issues. First, the construction noise in the hotel from 9am to 6pm was extremely loud. I couldn't work from my room or make calls as a result. Second, my bathroom suffered from a small colony of ants coming up from the pipes (I think, anyway. Some kind of pest) around the bathroom sink. Call the exterminator, guys.

Sheraton - Porto Alegre

There was black mold growing on the top of the glass shower doors about 2cm wide across the entire length of the doors. The bed mattress seemed to have a down feather topper which sounded like crunching newspaper when you moved and the feather pillows were very scratchy. You could feel the spine of the feathers with many lumps, making the pillows not very comfortable to sleep on. Other than this the hotel staff were very nice and the room seemed to be clean overall.

Quick but comfortable stay

I stayed here one night during a business trip. It was a quick, comfortable stay, with a very accommodating staff. The rooms are slightly outdated and the walls show a few scuffmarks, but overall the room was just fine. It also has a nice mall next door with plenty of shops and food options.

This was my first experience staying in a club room at the Sheraton. The room was good - spacious and with a huge king size bed which was very comfortable. The bathroom was not so modern - I felt it could be a bit better for the price. As a club room guest you have access to the club room at certain times which includes free drinks and snacks. I was only staying for 1 night so didn't really use this service however I did have the breakfast which was nice. The staff at the hotel was very helpful and friendly. The only downside was the pool which seemed to be not so clean while I was there so I didn't use it? I would stay here again next time I am in Porto Alegre.

It's the typical Sheraton. It is very good and the service is very good too. You have to pay for breakfast and the breakfast is ridiculously expensive because it is over 40 Canadian you could probably buy groceries for a week with the amount you pay for one breakfast at this hotel. I paid with the taxes and 78 Reais per day.

Troubled

When we arrived our air condition was not working and the room safe was broken. Staff did come to fix both within a reasonable amount of time. What was the worst was that after I had taken a shower and I opened the bathroom glass door for the shower, it completely shattered all over me cutting my feet legs and face. They offered a medical Dr. even though I am one. Then they offered to change rooms only to get a room that was 10 times smaller than what I had paid for. I received no apology from the staff of the horrific incident. During check out the same person that came to my room to offer a Dr and change of room, did not apologize once again. I will never stay there again. I travel to Porto Alegre 6-8 times a year and I will stay elsewhere.

Need to be more discreet with security

Nice hotel, pool, and rooms. Customer service fine on check in but when we tried to bring important guests to our room to have a place to talk one night, they were rudely stopped by the manager and made to feel like criminals for trying to enter the hotel with us. It was an unnecessary verbal assault that could have been handled very differently. We ended up staying in the hotel bar and talking, but security was eyeing us the entire time and we felt watched and heard. Unfortunately this colored our entire stay and we will not be going back there again. As SPG Gold members who are loyal to their hotels, it was the worst customer service experience we've ever had as hotel guests anywhere.

Had a little problem with the A/C but called in and they fixed it right away. also, we had a delay of 20 minutes at the checkout time and they charged us extra fee's which didn't make any sense as we were waiting for them to pick up the bags at the room.

Worst hotel ever

Terrible. I specifically asked for a quiet room on arrival and was allocated a room at the end of the corridor. The doors have gaps so that you still hear all doors closing and anyone talking in the corridor. You can also clearly hear everyone in neighbouring rooms. However the worst experience for me started at 8am when someone started drilling in the room directly beneath me. I left the hotel for business meetings and when I returned at 4pm, I could hear terrible loud music and lots of workers talking loudly- it sounded like they were in my bathroom. I rang guest service who told me they were refurbishing the floor below mine. I asked to change rooms but was told his wouldn't be possible. I explained I had to work and was told the workers would be finished by 6pm and in the meantime I could work on the top floor. I went to the top floor which is the pool and gym, and definitely not suitable for work. In the end I decided to go out and returned at 6:15pm - the drilling and hammering was still going on. And still continued until just before 10pm. During this time I complained again and ordered room service- after 30 minutes I was told my soup would take another 10minutes. I waited a further 30 minutes and in the end had to phone to cancel the room service as it was by then too late to eat (over an hour since I ordered the soup). The next day I was rudely awoken at 7am by extremely loud drilling. I went to breakfast ( which is also a terrible and expensive experience) but by the time I got back it had got worse. I rang guest service again and demanded to change rooms. They didn't get back to me and I had to call again 40minutes later, this time reduced to tears by the constant loud noise and disruption - I couldn't hear the person on the other end of the phone line because the noise was so loud. It was only at this point that I was finally moved to a room away from the refurbishments. The service was appalling and it should not have taken so long to move rooms. The manager rang to apologise, but laughed on the phone. She then sent a measly single chocolate to my room as though that could rectify the terrible stay I had experienced. I expect much better from a Sheraton hotel and was deeply disappointed. I strongly recommend you do NOT stay here.

The hotel is an expensive hotel for the type of service they provide. The service is slow, at both the club lounge and the restaurant. Also, for an American brand hotel the restaurant, club lounge staff, and bar spoke very little English. Other than that, it is a great hotel, rooms are great.

Close to airport for good work location

Great Staff This was a long extend expat stay for me. Room was grand with excellent bedding. Very clean quiet room. Surroundings were very good with park close by. Mall next to hotel. Restaurants all within walking distance. My co workers were also very happy with accommodations. Cheers

Hotel being refurbished

I've stayed at this hotel many times in the past months, it is a good hotel. However, this time I was unlucky to get a room close an area/floor that is being renovated. As a result, I had to bear the noise starting 6am. They say the hotel is typically full and although they try to avoid having guests in the rooms close to the work this is not always possible.

This is the best hotel in tehcity but far from other Sheratons. In many places this would be a great 3 star hotel.

Good, but some problems

We upgraded to a Club floor room on check-in, but the room we were given smelled very strongly of solvent of some kind, perhaps paint. When we asked to be moved, we were told there were no more club floor rooms, so we were moved to a regular room, but assured we would still receive club privileges. The new room was actually better, in the sense of being more modern, with better lighting. However, the safe was locked, so had to be taken away and replaced, and there were lights that had to be fixed. All these fixes were carried out efficiently, but required quite a lot of attention from us. The internet service was slow, and cumbersome to log into, allowing only two connections per room, although this could be extended.

Nice stay

This was the second time I have stayed at this particular Sheraton. It is very clean. The staff are very nice, but to my suprise many do not know English. There is a mall connected to the Sheraton, which is also very convenient. But again most of the poeple who work in the mall do not know English. Overall, my stay was very pleasant.

Nice hotel, excellent location. Wonderful staff. I stayed in a room that was not updated that was overall very good quality other than bathroom- which was just ok. I will look into the upgrade next time I'm in town. Overall I recommend!

Good Hotel, but not many employees spoke english...surprising.

Overall I was very satisfied with the stay. The only big surprise was that not many of the employees at the Sheraton spoke english. The room was nice, the service was good. The breakfast buffet is huge (cost $28 US dollars), and worth it if you can eat alot.

I stayed in the deluxe room. It's a few bucks more but worth it. Very spacious and nice bathrooms. Wifi is slow. Overall best hotel to stay in Porto Alegre

Great location nice hotel

The Sheraton is the nicest place I've stayed in Porto Alegre. It's right downtown next to the park where it seems everyone goes to exercise. The restaurant is excellent and the staff is very attentive, but in a really laid back Brazilian way.
