Better than expected!
Honestly, it was better than expected which was great because I didn’t expect much. The location is incredible! And for the price, I definitely think it was worth it! We had 3 people in a 2 bed room and although it was a little cramped, we made it work. We were also there for a week so we got used to it.
I totally recommend this hotel. Front desk were extremely helpful and kind with me and my family. Close to everything as well.
It was a place to sleep
It was a place to sleep. Older, out-of-date remodeling. My guess was rooms were created out of larger ones, which made the rooms and halls tiny. Television reception was terrible. Water had a distinct cedar after raste, perhaps from the water tank? Area was nice, Flatiron Building, Chelsea, etc.
Good one night stay
Front desk friendly and liked location in a nice neighborhood.
Very nice room. And a bathtub!
Perfect affordable option for a great stay in a great location! Room was clean, spacious and had a view of the Empire State Building. We will definitely be back!
Easy access to the Empire State building. Good transport links to Statue of Liberty, 9/11 Memorial.
The property is outdated and not well kept. Staff is friendly and the location is perfect.
Very small rooms but also inexpensive.
Great staff.
We chose this hotel for the price, location, and for the good rating from others that had come before us. We appreciated to have a hot shower and a comfortable bed to sleep in after a day out and about. What we liked least was that the room was small.
Nice staff. Easy check in and convenient.
Spent the weekend here for a hockey game at MSG. Upon arriving, we stored our luggage and left for our first stop in our itinerary. We literally got around the corner to the flat iron building and my friend became really ill. Panicking,, got back to the hotel and Zee( the lady at the desk) and the other staff immediately got us into a room ( 5 hours before check-in) so my friend could lay down and relax. They all treated us with genuine concern and grace!! It was our first visit back to NYC in many years and all i can say is the people at Heritage hotel went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The people of New York were the kindest, considerate, and helpful people I've encountered in quite a while. Going from panic mode to feeling like being at home by the time we went home, it was saddening to leave. Centrally located to everything in Manhattan too!! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to Zee and all the staff at Heritage hotel!! William and Angela from Canada!!
Close to everything
Great location. Convenient for everything you want to do in NYC.
Came as billed. Was clean.
Excellent staff and service. The staff let my son use the business center for a prolonged period of time, and they let my son and his friends stay in the room for an extra hour past the checkout time. Hotel is clean and in a nice quiet location. Only complaint is housekeeping. My son requested housekeeping a day before and nobody came the following day. But overall a great inexpensive hotel in Manhattan.
Convenient, Quiet
Very convenient. Free weekend parking on the street in front of the hotel. It was quiet at night, which is worth a lot. Staff was super nice. Fridge in room was nice to have.
This is a great hotel if you're looking for a place to sleep while spending most of your time exploring the city. The rooms are quite small, but they have everything you need. The bed was very comfortable, and the temperature controls worked well. The best perk is definitely the location—you have easy access to stores, restaurants, public transportation, and major attractions. I would gladly stay at this hotel again.
Excellent staff. Hotel was very tired looking blankets were very thin. However ok value for money and extra blankets provided quickly on asking. Hotel reception continually manned by excellent staff. Speedy checking in and out
Comfy and great location
We had plans out of the hotel for the time we were there and it was a great place to sleep and in a great location-close to lots of things to do by foot.
Very Good !!!
The friendly and very helpful staffs in the reception area.
it was quiet and conveniently located, unfortunately they stopped serving breakfast
It was a clean nice room , the hotel has a good location close to everything just by walking , the stuff were friendly.
Access to everything staff very accomodating.
Hotel good for young adults or college trips
Relatively inexpensive for being in this part of Manhattan. It was eco-friendly in the sense that you had to request each night if you wanted your room cleaned the next day. The room itself felt a little dirty with a thick layer of dust on some of the surfaces and a few hairs embedded in the blanket that was on the bed. The door didn't fit the doorway and had an opening that could allow anyone to slip something underneath.
The staff were very friendly, understanding and very hospitable.
Exactly what we needed for a weekend in the City.
HERITAGE is an older property. The building itself looks historic but maintained decently well. You can tell that it was last updated & remodeled several years ago. Based on the price, it was perfectly fine. I stayed 1 night.
Nice enough room for barely being there.
EXCELLENT
My stay was perfect, excellent reception staff, it is my second stay and I will definitely return next year and I will stay at Heritage.
This is perfect location and great hotel. It is basic in terms of facilities but clean and safe and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
We stayed here for 2 night property was good
The property was exceptional for an older building. Not a fancy place but absolutely the best night sleep away from Home ever! Comfortable beds, hot shower, just right heat on a super cold night, coffee pot and fridge in the room. The family room was perfect for the 5 of us. Bathroom is a little small, but sufficient. Great price for great location.
Basic
Kind of basic accomodation but bed was comfortable.
The Heritage will stay on my list of great places to stay in NYC. Equally walkable to two subway stations that got me everywhere I wanted to go. Better coffee shop next door. CVS and groceries at end of the block, plus food options abound within easy walking. Across the street was the Chelsea Flea Market on Saturday and Sunday. Everybody scored a deal. The hotel itself was clean and updated and was staffed by great helpful people. The neighborhood had a safe, comfy feel with dog walkers and baby carriages throughout the day and evening. Minor downside to the hotel, we stayed in a room with two double beds and a couch. The beds were very soft and a bit bouncy. The couch was the cheapest futon thing that nobody would enjoy sleeping on but perhaps the youngest of children. But, again, our room was clean and otherwise comfy. We would definitely stay here again.
Convenient access to subway. Close to a great cafe. Reasonable room rates.
Staff were very friendly.
Nothing at all like the pictures and presentation on Expedia. The woman who checked us in was almost hostile when I questioned the additional deposit she demanded and which Expedia did not disclose. The room was dank and tiny. I left in the middle of the night and went to another hotel. Shame on Expedia for promoting this flop house.
Was convenient
It was quiete but not very clean
Nice property. Clean room - nice service - close to a lot stuff.
Easy walk
Great holiday trip. No complaints at all! Convenient to the subway and such. Thanks for a great stay.
The price was good but the cleanliness was bad. The staff was very friendly tho
N/a
Great location in a great district. Close to subways and within walking distance of great restaurants, shops, and iconic locations. All staff were amazing as well.
The walls are really thin, you can hear your neighbors full conversations and you can’t even breathe on the bed without it squeaking
The heritage in Christmas
It was wonderful close to lots of things to do for fun and they way to go further if needed
The windows were very dirty and in such poor condition that the freezing cold air came through, The heater/air conditioning unit in the window was very noisy. Staff was great but the hotel was terrible.
we had good stay
Very satisfied with our stay. The staff was friendly and it is in a decent location if you want to be in walking distance of most things. Good food and coffee options near by. The hotel itself is could use some updates and minor repairs here and there but I found absolutely nothing to be unsatisfactory. I would stay there without hesitation, especially if the need was basic; a safe and comfortable place to sleep at night.
I loved the heritage in and would gladly stay again, already trying to plan my next trip where I will be staying at the heritage again.
Very well located hotel in NYC. Staff were very nice and helpful. Bed pretty comfortable. Room was tiny for 4 but good setup.
Furnishings and services in this hotel are basic, but it was clean and quiet. We liked the location, near the Flatiron Building, and walking distance from the Empire State Building, Macy's etc. But our top-floor room had no view.
The staff were lovely and very welcoming, the location is brilliant. The hotel is tired inside. The bathroom had damaged to the door, chips of paint missing and just general finish is tired and to the cheap side. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable. The hotel needs modernising and a revamp, but if you are looking for a friendly hotel, and a place to lay your bed then it’s perfect. The location is perfect. The staff were really lovely.
Convenient and Friendly
It was an older hotel, and the room was small (very narrow space between the wall and bed - difficult to navigate at night!) but it was very comfortable. Zero view, but we weren't there much. Very nice staff, lots of things to see and do within walking distance. For the price we paid, a continental breakfast should have been included. Not cheap, but nothing is in NYC! All said, we'd stay there again!
room was very tight, no closet which we managed but sheesh
Awesome
Nice, clean and people very friendly
The room was very small then Expedia prevented us from being charged a lower amount than was originally presented as it wouldn’t allow me to complete the charges. Then when we were able to proceed, at a later time, it charged us higher.
Perfect location
Came to enjoy NYC location was perfect. Staff friendly and accommodating.
great place--good staff, great location, nice, big rooms
I wouldn’t stay more than a single night and only if you need something cheap. The beds are really flimsy, the room and facility is in really rough shape, and the infrastructure (elevators, etc) are really old and antiquated.
It was a fairly nice hotel, and the staff are nice. The hotel is older and the rooms rather small with no place for luggage. But it was comfortable for just a few days.
Had a great time during our visit to New York. Had great restaurants and close to some of the popular sites. Rooms were clean and anything you needed the front desk was very helpful.
Clean, tired, compact lodgings in Midtown
Welcome to Manhattan at Christmas where you can pay more for a tired 15 SqM room as 75 SqM room in the Waldorf equivalent New Orleans! On arrival had to wade through a walking tour group to get to the check-in. Check-in was efficient and friendly but; There's no Maid Service for the rooms unless you ask for it the night before and if you want clean towels you ask fir and collect them at reception. Towels while soft and clean were not much thicker than I use to dry dishes; and not much larger (advise you take your own bath-towels). Bedding was not really adequate to warm adults in winter; cotton sheets and a very thin blanket with another cotton cover over it... the hotels prefers to warm occupants using the large window mounted air conditioning unit, drawing in air at -2 degrees C and pumping it into the room anywhere from 65 to 80 F... meaning to stay warm, the fan came on every 30 seconds at night. It is not quiet... Pillow covers were (to be honest), stained yellow... time for some new bedding!? To be honest, the room was equipped even if lacking space; staff were friendly and helpful and location was pretty much perfect; a stones throw from Broadway (road) and Flatiron. Walkkng distsnce to 23rd St Metro, Manas Kitchen and CVS... I love New York but it seems now to get a rewlly decent room / hotel you hsve to pay probsbly £1000 a night. Yes seriously...
The location was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful. They accommodated my every request.
Easy to find and easy to access transportation. All staff was super helpful! Great place and would stay again!
Great location, friendly helpful staff and we would definatly stay there again.
This was the smallest, dirtiest, oldest, most expensive room I’ve ever had in my life. I’m actually deleting the Expedia app from my phone because of this room.
Overall our experience was fine but the room could definitely use updating. The heating unit was subpar causing the room to feel either too cold or too warm. When we checked in, to our surprise, we were told we had been given a smoking room even though neither of us smoke. The front desk clerks were very accommodating and switched our room for us.
It's kinda small and outdated but the staff was awesome. It's was good price and I wasn't expecting fancy anyway. We would stay again
The propery no don't have any breakfast and when you make a reservation the portal says they have ,
Check in staff was very friendly.
We stayed overnight and that’s all that room is meant for. It was clean and staff was Pleasant.
Very kind courteous and attentive staff. Check in was ontime and prompt at 3pm. The staff kindly stowed our bags at no cost until our room was ready. The room was actually quite spacious. Three single beds. Only comment I have is the hotel did not have washclothes. They recommended we use the small hand towels instead. Would def recommend. Great location as well. Easy pick up if you plan on using ride share.
Property is kind of dated. Staff is okay but not really friendly… only one person even smiled and that was at checkout. The place kind of has a motel vibe even though it’s not a motel. Easy to travel and eat in the area. Would probably not return but in a pinch it beats an hourly place.
Hotel is small but it is very nice. Room was clean. Location is near enough to the Subway to walk. There is a parking garage across the street but it's 25.00 a night. People who work there are very friendly.
Excellent position in midtown manhaton. Quiet but near to the hustle and bustle. Rooms were basic but large
Perfect location.
Very disappointing, and I would never recommend this establishment.
One Single Factor Means Heritage is Off My List
The staff was great! The room was small and dark, but adequate. The location terrific! The thin, single panel door between my room and the one next to me is a deal-breaker; four people came in at 3am and I could literally hear every single laughing drunken word they said as if if they were IN THE SAME ROOM! 3 hours sleep… Brutal… I can’t risk that again…
Average, great location
Great location, room was average, nothing fancy and small. Price was decent for NYC.
Really appreciate being accommodated for early check in, nice facility, old building & all the things that come with that. Decently updated bathroom. Small, but was fine for one evening.
Solid choice for basic overnight in lower midtown. Small room and spare, but clean.
Horrible. Old. Not neat.
The Heritage Hotel is clean and has a comfy bed, what more do you want when staying in New York? Rooms are spacious but dated and could do with a freshen up. Housekeeping is by request only. 30 minutes walk gets you to the top of Times Square (Ellen Stardust diner) minutes walk gets you to the flatiron building.
Great for few nights
The hotel was in super convenient location. Not too noisy in the night compared to Times Square area. We had a king bed which was very comfortable, but the room was small. Not much space other than bed. We were busy & only needed to sleep in the hotel, so it worked out. Bathroom was small too. The round sliding doors were surprisingly shut tightly & there was no leak. Very good.
Nice little hotel
Decent place to stay
Conveniently located hotel only a few blocks from the subway. Room was basic with two twin beds. Excellent shower pressure and nice hot water. View from our room was of the concrete wall of the property next door but we didn't spend much time in the room except for sleeping at night. Room had a small refrigerator which was nice, we've stayed at other hotels in New York that didn't have a fridge. This hotel had the lowest price of most of the hotels when I booked my trip.
girls getaway
the stay was amazing and a great location to everything.
Simple hotel that fit the bill.
This was a good hotel but there are no frills.
Amazing
Considering it’s New York, the property is good and affordable, the staff is awesome. Shower a little bit small but workable. Overall I can’t complain
Friendly staff. Good location 15 walk from Penn Station and MSG. 10 min walk to the Friends experience. Very basic but good place to spend the night. Very little outside noise. Will hold bags on day of check out for a small fee.
Quick city jaunt
The best location for the price. Comfortable and low key. The staff was so nice. I'll stay there again.
Walking distance to Madison Square Garden so it was a perfect location for a one night stay for a concert. Plus many quality dining options nearby
