Ideally located for a one night stay in Birmingham with the bonus of parking. Friendly staff and lovely breakfast
Very friendly staff at all times. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable as it was lumpy - caused by uneven springs.
The hotel was excellent ,the staff were very friendly, and it was situated in the right area for us
Lovely breakfast, comfy beds noisy fan heating?
Highly recommend!
Perfect location, easy check in, tidy rooms, breakfast selection was amazing! Parking was perfect! And right in city centre.
Do not book.
Horrible. Lots of drunk people stumbling around the hotel. Public urination in the lifts. Homeless people in the private car park. Did not feel safe leaving the room. The hot drinks machine was not in service. The room was not what was displayed on the website. When I arrived the hotel told me they were fully booked yet tried to make me stay in a twin room when i paid for a Queen room.
Lovely night stay
We had a very comfortable stay, staff were friendly and breakfast was good. 8 minute walk to ICC.
Sofa bed advertised terrible to sleep on
The breakfast was good. Service acceptable. I booked the room specifically for the double bed and the sofa bed. The double bed was apparently ok, but the sofa bed was terrible. There is no cushioning of the springs, like sleeping on a bed of nails. I had to ask for bed sheets and duvet cover on the first night. Then for the second night, I had to ask for a second duvet to act as a mattress topper 3 times before it was provided.
Perfect stay. Thank you
Gt hotel
Really nice hotel and comfortable bed breakfast was lovely
Good location, great breakfast.
The room was great just what we booked. Breakfast is great and plenty to choose from. The parking is okay, my only problem with this hotel is the lifts, they take ages & one stayed on floot 16 for most of the day.
The hotel is well positioned with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Nice clean room, modern bathroom with a powerful shower. Breakfast was very good. Helpful, polite staff. The lift was an interesting experience!
Rude receptionist
It was in a good location for the Birmingham Arena. Ideal location on Broad Street.
Easy check in, quality room. Good night sleep and nice breakfast options
Nice friendly staff
Great price good breakfast
It was quiet but not a fan of being on 17th floor
I’ve just stayed and everything was really good. I’m really disappointed that I can’t book again for next year☹️
Everything went well
Ideal location
Great location for utility arena. Room nice and big and loads of breakfast options
Always book this hotel when visiting Birmingham for a show at the NIA. It's convenient with good facilities and friendly staff. Very reasonable priced too.
frindly and helpful staff,
Very convenient for the Utilita Arena
Perfectly clean room and dining area. Very polite/helpful staff but, the reception was almost overhwelmed mid afternoon when we checked in and actually as we checked out on Sunday morning. Too many visitors or too few staff? However, by bugbear was that the documentation could have told us to use a different postcode if driving there! A combination of one-way streets and temporary other road closures defeated my logic and cost me three-quarters of an hour to get to the car park!
Positive: good location. Transport. Shopping in the heart of town centre Negative: no complimentary water. No fridge , microwave in room. Very different than North America Hiltons
Not much, but nice hotel
No curtains in the room so was woke by early morning light. 3 out of the 4 lifts weren’t working on our check out day and due to how busy it was we had to walk up and down the stairs to floor 13.
Good stay great location
The room was comfortable and the heating and air con worked, hair dryer, iron available, all you can eat buffet breakfast was good lots of choice. Check in/out was simple. Great location
Good
Sub standard Hotel
The sink got blocked, hair in the bathroom. Shampoo and Conditioner dispenser was blocked. The only good thing about the hotel was the breakfast
My daughters graduation at BCU . All very good , until we went down to get an evening treat ! We ordered 2 Cinnamon Swirls £6.25 EACH ! For this price for pastry we were hopeful. On opening the polystyrene container to find a stale , over microwaved inedible Cinnamon swirl ! More milk & tea in rooms needed
Great locatiom, staff were very helpful and great value.
Very nice hotel. But could be better.
Not as good as it used to be. Lots of cut backs. Cheap toilet rolls. Only 2 tea bags. No biscuits. 2 coffee 2 sugars. And 2 stir stick. No teaspoons anymore. Qaulity of breakfast not as it used to be. Cheaper products everywhere. No granola. Muesli, cheap cornflakes or cheap cocopops. Yogurt watery. Fruit hard. Bread was nice. Nice butter. Hp sauce a bonus. Coffee machine did a tasty latte and cappuccinos. Staff always friendly.
Nice hotel
Really comfortable but the toilet didn’t have a bath or shower cubicle. It was an open shower next to toilet with chance of slipping due to water around. Breakfast was really good.
Dirty bed covers. Bed cover torn. Sofa bed had a dip in the middle, not stable. Chid was not comfortable sleeping on it.
Clean and accessible.
Horrible ,wouldn’t recommend AT ALL
Sofa beds can be maintained a bit cleaner as we found dirt and hair. Felt it was already used and was not cleaned.
We have been here before Never a fault
friendly and helpful staffs
The staffs are very friendly and flexible.
Comfortable and quiet
Right next to a club!
Great service, nice clean rooms, good breakfast it's just a pity it's right next to a nightclub. Even on the 11th floor you can hear the beat of the music. Unfortunately this spoiled our stay somewhat.
The hotel its self was good but the shower was dirty so didnt use it the sofa bed so hard our daughter slept in out bed . The double bed was so hard and the pillows were awful the we didnt get any sleep. The duvet was so thin that i was cold The room was really cold even with the heating on on the plus side the breakfast buffet was amazing
Always stay here as location is good and hotel offers everything I need for a short stay.
It's a perfect choice for a family
The hotel over all was a good experience and staff were amazing. The hotel had less facilities, like there was no fridge in the hotel room and had no ropes or slippers. The breakfast was nice but wished it had more vegetarian options.
It was a good stay, a decent room, and comfortable—no free parking. Breakfast was great.
With thanks
Lovely rooms in close proximity to the arena, had a lovely stay with my daughter
Nice hotel and friendly staff but the room was relatively small with no opening windows.
We missed having bottled water in our room also a fridge. In fact, I would sooner have the fridge and the television as we never seem to use televisions in hotels anymore just seem to be fading out. And a couple of biscuits would’ve been nice apart from those minor things. I slept OK.
Enjoyed stay and conveniently located
Great for city attractions food walking etc
Helpful approachable staff who are eager to meet the needs of the traveller. Breakfast quality very good and spotless dining area
Appreciate th early book in, thank you.
Great hotel
Great hotel in a great location. Quiet room and comfy bed. Great gym that was available 24 hrs.
Good weeks stay
Good weekend stay. Hotel in good location and was clean & modern. However, had a fire evacuation whilst there which wasn’t ideal. Had an issue with breakfast. When I went to get another drink I discovered all the table had been cleared when I returned to my table and I hadn’t finished my food !!
Decent stay.
Rooms are clean and the hotel was quiet! The sofa beds really, really need re-thinking. So uncomfortable and lying at a slant!
Excellent all rounder. Only thing is the lifts , it takes a while to get the lifts as very busy hotel. But other wise excellent
Ideal location with a tram stop just outside. Easy parking, but we did arrive on a Thursday and the car park did look fuller on Friday/Saturday. The only downside was that the lifts weren't operating correctly so we had to use the stairs from the car park to the reception which was a struggle for my husband who has knee and back issues, we were also lucky that a member of staff was on a break and could let us through the door to access the stairs. They were being fixed though and the other lifts to the rooms were working fine. Breakfast was good and the staff friendly and helpful. Room was nice, if a little warm for us but the controls are easy to use, they just reset quite frequently.
Most of the staff were very helpful. We stayed on the 14th floor with nice window view. Room was nice and clean.
Bed not good enough
Everything there was amazing, breakfast was excellent. The only thing I didn’t like about the place was the bed. It made so much squeaky sound when ever I change position to sleep or try relaxing on the bed to work on my laptop.
Great hotel, only thing didnt like was the long queues for breakfast
First visit to the Hampton Hotel
Lovely room and en suite. Reception staff very helpful, especially regarding car parking. Any criticism? No tomatoes at breakfast, one lift not working. Would score the hotel 9 out of 10, excellent
The area it's self was dirty and at 11.30 at night didn't feel safe to walk around.
Birmingham
Fantastic hotel. The breakfast is amazing so much choice cooked and cereals n danish pasties croissants. Coffee was delicious as was the orange juice the staff were so lovely very welcoming and checking we were happy with things. Great place to stay after we had been to see Human League at the Utilita arena. Carparking located at the hotel or next door. When booking hotel sort the parking at the same time. The room was lovely confy beds free wifi large smart tv kettle fridge iron fridge large shower easy to access if struggling with mobility. Was so relaxed there i didntvwantvto leave. Quiet definately visit again 10 out of 10
Perfect location, easy to check in. Lift to get to reception, car park and rooms very busy.
Close to city centre
Our stay at the Hampton by hilton
Amazing stay, all staff were friendly and very helpful. Made to feel welcome. Breakfast was excellent with a vast amount of choice. Would certainly stay again and would recommend.
Lovely overnight stay due to visiting the Utilita arena which was only 10 minutes walk away Hotel very clean , staff friendly and efficient Room excellent Breakfast good with plenty of choice- only downside was that there were no fried eggs only scrambled on the buffet
Very clean, lovely staff … Mattress needs replacing; hard and lumpy, gave hip and shoulder pain in the night.
Ask for a high floor!!
For those that are unfamiliar with Birmingham, what you wont realise is the hotel is sat on top of/next to a nightclub. All night all you can hear/feel is the bass from the club below which doesnt stop until about 3 oclock. The postcode given on the booking email for the parking doesnt directly take you to the correct place and still tries to send you to the front of the hotel. To get into the car park you will be best putting an address in for Tennant Street which is the road the carpark is situated on. The rooms were large and clean. Its a shame that a great stay was ruined by the nightclub.
Property is on a main street with bars and clubs, great location if that is what you are looking for. If you want a quieter room, ask for a high floor or room facing away from the main street Some of the furniture was worn and weathered
Limited menu in evening
10 min walk to centre of birmingham and a good array of bars and restaurants
Good value and excellent service
Excellent check in and service from Hotel staff. Good breakfast, rooms a good size and the air con was adjustable which was perfect. Only bad point was the lift - one was broken which caused delays and as it was the one to the car park it was a nightmare all weekend.
Generally ok visit, lovely breakfast
Generally ok, information on parking and Broad Street closure out of date and needs amending on the pre-visit email. Cosy and clean room, very good breakfast, loved the thick bacon and sauages.
Hidden gem ideal for the city.
After parking the car, we ventured up to reception, and were greeted by Eman, who made our check in extremely easy, was very professional, polite, courteous and what an outstanding piece of customer service. The hotel management should be proud of her attitude to customers. A smile goes a long way, and she had that in abundance. Have stayed in other branded hotels, and this was our first time at the Hampton, and wouldn't hesitate to come back again.
It was within walking distance of the centre and having its own car park was good. The breakfast was just ok, the only eggs they offered were scrambled. It would have been better if they offered poached or fried eggs. Our sleep was disturbed twice by the fire alarm, the second time we had to actually evacuate the building at 2am . No compensation was offered the morning after.
Poor accommodation
Did not have a good stay the cleanliness of the bedroom was not clean. had to change rooms twice and the 2nd room was just as bad as the 1st one... Hairs in bathroom and bed Also heating was bad...which was not acceptable😲😞
Disappointing
I was disappointed with my stay. The sofa bed in the family room was very uncomfortable. The sliding door to the bathroom did not open properly. There were two fire alarms set off in the middle of the night. The second meant we were standing outside cold in the rain with other hotel guests in a side street for 30min. Whilst I appreciate it was not the staffs fault the alarms were triggered, there was no communication about what was going on and no staff around. The breakfast was ok but again lower standard than I expected. The staff on reception and in the dining room were very good and helpful.
Overnight stay
All fine apart from someone setting off the fire alarm 3 times at about 2am in the morning, after no response from reception we had to walk down 11 floors only to find it was a false alarm. Nobody seemed to know what was happening, communication was poor. Obviously spoilt the sleep experience.
Great hotel and perfect location
Great hotel in a perfect spot for the utilita Arena. Food was amazing, plenty of breakfast choice. Beds are very comfortable. Will. Definitely come back here for the next gig trip!
Not so much the property but the night shift staff. A fire alarm went off at 2pm and all guest left the building The staff didn’t seem to have control of the situation as no instructions were given. I think you need a serious review of your fire safety procedures at this hotel I would also like a refund for the hassle caused by the whole episode
Alarm made disturbed sleep
Lovely stay until 01:30am when an alarm went off and we were all evacuated out the building until almost 02:30am and no communication off any staff about the situation.
Probably fine mid-week.
Room was fine and as expected, but noisy and hot at night. Also the fire alarm went off twice during the night and we had to evacuate at 2am. Queues for breakfast were ridiculous on Sunday morning.
Fire alarm problem
First night fine 2nd didnt get any sleep fire alarm went off twice and 2nd time ended up outside in street which is completely understandable but no communication about it so worried all night if it would go off again or something woild come of alarm eg fire and when you are away from family and children you worrie and up on 12th floor lots of thoughts go though your head. There was no communication at all . So no sleep at all for 2nd night
The heating / air conditioning unit needed cleaning, this resulted in triggering my dust allergy. There was a thick layer of dust on the Tv
Started OK, went down hill fast.
Stayed at this hotel while we were in the city watching a band at the arena. We were happy with the hotel up until 1am when the fire alarm was set off. It's then stopped and at around 2 am it went off again and didn't stop. We had to evacuate the building, it was raining, there was nowhere to stand and the hotel staff weren't anywhere to be seen. We went around to the front of the hotel where there were 2 x members of staff, they didn't tell us what was happening and they didn't seem to know what was going on. It was clear there isn't a plan for this type of event, which is worrying. After 30mins we were told we could enter the building. Now soaked and wide awake we struggled to get much sleep. When we went for breakfast the queues were about 15 to 20 people deep for a breakfast, there was only 1 operational coffee machine so people were queuing for that. We didn't bother having much breakfast as it was overcrowded and the hotel cannot cater for a full restaurant.
All good and would be 5 stars except it took 3 changes of door card to get ones that worked with the lifts! First cards took us everywhere except the floor we wanted - good job we weren’t in a hurry! Otherwise all excellent-staff were really helpful and rooms comfortable and quiet.
The bedding and bed were awful. Noisy from club next door. Breakfast disappointing. Have stayed last three years and standards have dropped. Will not stay next time.
Perfectly fine
Perfectly clean and comfortable. Some features bit dated, breakfast really good
Great location and check-in was very quick and efficient. I'm already planning to use the hotel again.
Good clean, spacious rooms. Nice bar area.
Great place to go
Very friendly reception staff, bar staff less engaging great location lovely hotel
The gentleman who checked us in was very helpfull and friendly and polite
Clean and nice hotel, the stuff were nice and helpful.
Birmingham weekend away
Lovely hotel , good parking facilities and very easy to get the tram into the city centre
Nice
The breakfast team in the morning worked their socks off to seat people, keep tables cleared and replenish the buffet.
