This was a nice hotel within walking distance to restaurants, convenience store, the Aeon shopping mall and station. Also near BookOff. Staff were very friendly and spoke English. We used their Laundry facilities. Shower pressure was amazing. Beds were comfortable. Great stay for a great price!
Great transport links with Kyoto Station a short walk away, and a bus stop right outside. Vibe of the lobby and the rooms is very relaxing. The traditional style rooms with futons are nice but are quite small and a bit less comfortable than a bed. The free onsen is a good way to unwind after a busy day. Decor-wise it is quite basic but is a safe and calming space. The breakfast buffet is really nice and there is also a lovely restaurant called Negitaro on the same street, and a 7-Eleven for snacks. Hotel staff were all very kind and can help with things like luggage transfer. It may help to learn some Japanese phrases before you go to avoid any misunderstandings. Overall a great hotel and we will likely stay here again on our next trip to Kyoto.
horrible bad service. ac not working they said it wont be repair untill we leave. they change us to a different room that it was smoking i told them we didn’t like it and they said to leave the hotel because thats the only offer they have available. BAD BAD BAD
Dining room staff were very polite and helpful Room was clean and good enough for 4 ppl. It may have been better if they kept some coffee and tea bags in the room and additional stuff to be picked up from the front office.
Other than the one Cockroach in the hallway, everything was clean. The room was TOO cozy (meaning tiny) but it served the needs at the moment. The staff were great.
This hotel was well set up. The staff were helpful, the room was clean. However, be mindful not to accidentally select a smoking room as we did as it was not at all pleasant or comfortable to sleep in a room where the air hang with stale cigarette smoke.
Great hotel
Big room and bathroom with lots of outlets and places to stow your stuff. Close to subway (2 blocks). Inexpensive breakfast buffet in lobby cafe with American and Japanese items.
Amazing stay
AMAZING night stay cleanest room I’ve stayed in Japan so far
Very good room
i stayed here to go to Toji Shrine..a 15 minute walk away this hotel strikes a great balance between a minimum budget stay and a well heeled luxury ammenity hotel i booked a deeply discounter last minute stay and couldn’t have been happier in addition to in room bathing they offfer the use of a Japanese style communal bath the worst thing one could say about this hotel is that it’s across the streeet from a huge bus depot BUT it’s in a good location:15 min South of kyoto train station and also 15 min East of Toji Shrine
efficient and clean very nice hotel to stay
Sister outing in kyoto
The stay was amazing. Nice hotel and great location.
Amazing hotel. Clean, courteous, informative. Right outside bus stop and a block away from subway. Excellent breakfast! Staff could not have been more accommodating and spa is great after walking and exploring all day. 711 and other restaurants within walking distance and mall.
I love this place. The staff were helpful. It was well located and close to train stations
Good location good value
Good location only about a 10min walk mainly flat and easy to find. The room is adequate but on the small size. As is the bathroom. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the bus stop for all the main attractions in Kyoto is at the front door of the hotel. Clean and serviced daily. Good value and good location.
Noisy room and basic facilities
Strange noise coming from just outside window. Neither of us slept well because of this. Out of all the hotels we stayed in Japan this was the most basic regards facilities. Oh and fridge was also very noisy.
Ideal and convenient, hotel meets all requirements. Rooms in Japan are generally small but include all you need. Good for transport links, 10 minute easy walk to main train station and hotel directly opposite bus station. Smart phone provided in room & for use when out. Reception staff very welcoming and helpful, nothing too much trouble, would book again.
Excelente service
Good
Very good value
10 minute walk from the Kyoto station. Air conditioned, kettle, and empty mini-fridge. The mattress is very firm and the pillow has some sort of weird, overly stiff fill, however there are memory foam pillows available along with nightgowns near the elevator. It is a smallish Euro type room. Plenty of power outlets. Wifi works great. If you are like me, the only time I spend in the room in for sleep so the small size is no matter. I did not try the daily breakfast buffet but it looks like they have a lot of items. There were families and business guys staying here.
quite and convenient ,not cheap but reasonable 10minutes from the station
Good for price
Good Hotel, but there is no password for men's onsen yet their is one for women's onsen... Room is small, but I'm ok with that. Location is on the less busy side of Kyoto station, but it's only an easy 5 min walk away. Overall good hotel, friendly staff.
Nice hotel close to Kyoto Station
The hotel is about a 10-15 mins walk from Kyoto Station. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They offer breakfast at a reasonable price (around $10 per person) but there is not much variety. The room where we stayed was a little too tight. We had a non-smoking room, but if for some reason we shut-off the fan/vent in the bathroom, you could smell the smoke from the smoking rooms from our bathroom; so we kept the fan running at all times to fix that problem. Other than that, the laundry room was easy to use, although the dryers took 90 minutes to somewhat dry our clothes (clothes were not fully dried but we gave up). Overall, since we stayed during high season, the hotel served its purpose.
I accidentally booked a smoking room for 4nights. Hotel staffs kindly changed my room to nonsmoking one for the latter 3 nights.
Nice and cozy hotel, well connected.
Amazing stay at this very friendly, clean and relatively quite hotel. This is on the quieter side of Kyoto and we loved that fact. It's very well connected to all tourist destinations by bus, Trains and some by foot. Kyoto main station is only a 10 minute walk.
Modern Hotel with Friendly Staff
The hotel amenities are all brand new. The staffs are all friendly and can speak good english. However its location is a good 10-15 min walk from Kyoto station and a bit challenging if you carry a heavy luggage. But overall i would recommend this hotel if you are planning to stay in Kyoto.
VALUE FOR MONEY
A SHORT WALK FROM KYOTO STATION, THIS HOTEL IS SITUATED ON THE QUIET SIDE OF KYOTO STATION. THE STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL AND THE ROOM WAS VERY COMFORTABLE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL
Nice location
about 5to8mins by walk to Jr station.
Room Clear, good location, bus stop in front of hotel , Good in service
Good hotel with great service.
Good hotel located in a quiet neighborhood one stop south of Kyoto Station. Our room was comfortable but very small. We feel that bottled water should be provided in the room. Though they do provide unlimited tea and coffee at the lobby. Two restaurants plus a 7-eleven nearby. Would recommend this hotel for its competitive price.
walking to Kyoto station about 10 minutes. Bus station outside hotel easily access to tourist places of interests. Breakfast with limited choices.
Close to Ti-Jo
Very close to Kyoto station and Ti-Jo. Good buffet breakfast and many shops can be found. Clean room, comfortable bed, and great staff. They also offer keeping your bag as you visit on your check-out day.
Modern hotel
10 minutes walk from Kyoto station. Opposite bus depot and bus stops outside the hotel. Nice staff. Bike rental place just down road which was fun
Brand new hotel in a good location
We spent 3 nights at Green Rich hotel and we are satisfied of this choice. The hotel is located close to the Kyoto station and well connected with the city center and some of the main temples and shrines. Room is cosy and clean, with all the stuff and equipment you may need. Staff is very kind and polity. We recommend Green Rich hotel to everybody who want to stay in Kyoto
Rooms are the smallest I have ever stayed anywhere
I am having claustrophobic nightmares with the size of the rooms. the staff was ok, but you have to complaint a bit to get what you need. I would not recommend this hotel to anyoine
Very nice hotel.
This was a single room booking. The room is quite large for a single, especially when you're in Japan. So be happy, this room has more than enough for a single traveller. The staff was very courteous, friendly & their knowlegde of English was really good. The room is spacious, bathroom is a good size, and very clean. Little fun trying to figure out the a/c control but I managed. FYI, you have to put your key into the slot to turn on the electricity in the room. You also have to leave your key at the front desk when you're going out. (no biggy to be honest) And if you're oout after midnight the door will be locked & you must either buzz in or get the code from the front desk that day, so you can get in. (again, no biggy) The day I had to check out, I had to go some where & they were nice enough to hold my bags until I got back. Things turned later than I thought, but when I gave them the number tag they gave me, they presented me with my bags. AT NO CHARGE! And thanked me for staying & to enjoy the rest of trip. Now that's amazing for service.
comfy hotel which I'll come back for
I enjoyed the bath spa facility and the massage chair in my room. the staff were friendly and they speak very well English. the lobby and my room were clean and tidy. the bed was comfy and I would love to stay here again if I come to Kyoto next time.
Kyoto
Great stay overall! Room a bit small but that's expected in Japan. Would stay here again.
A last minute booking and an excellent standard for the price. Only possible negative for tourist visitor is that subway routes to Gion district are a bit more hassle than some other locations
Good hotel
On my first night there, I urgently need some drugs for fever and asked for help late evening. They simply showed me where to buy. It was a bit far. I finally found another hotel nearby and they gave me some drugs for emergency.
Nice staff, comfy room
The hotel is clean and comfy, staff are nice and helpful. Close to the subway station and with a walkable distance to the Kyoto station/ transport hub.
Nice hotel with easy access to Lorain transportation
Fantastic small hotel.
Fantastic small hotel. A short pleasant walk from the train station. Very nice decor, a very good value and extremely clean. It did have a slight stuffy (maybe smokey) smell but once you are in the room and the air conditioner is on it goes away very quickly. The room was a little small but not too small and it was fine for myself traveling solo and probably ok for a couple as well.
cheap clean small room
We could not beat the location to the JR station or a local bus line. The hotel location was quiet and clean. The size of the room and bathroom was small and cramped for 2 people. The bed was uncomfortably firm. The A/C was amazing. The staff knew enough English to be helpful. Would stay again if passing through Kyoto, but if staying for couple days we would find a hotel with a more comfortable bed and more sizable room.
Nice clean hotel. Easy walk from the train station with convenience store nearby and a bus stop right in front of the hotel.
ok room but the staff is horrible
The room is ok but the staff is horrible to work with. They make no effort to work out the slightest problems you might have with your room. Very poor service.
15 min walk fron the station and not too cramped rooms
Hotel staff was friendly and very accommodating. Room was great as well (we had the non-smoking room).
Great location
Great location. Polite staff. Delicius and diverse food. Recomended.
Enjoyed My Stay
Very Nice
Great hotel
A great hotel near the Kyoto Train Station - good neighborhood and fine service
I have booked a smoking room, however there is no smoking smell in the room and the room is clean. The staffs are also helpful.
centrally located, small rooms, hard bed, friendly staff.
Its very accessible, there's a bus stop just in front of the hotel and its near Kujo and Toji Station as well. Overall the place is quite comfortable, but what I didn't like is that there was no closet in our room, just a wall mounted rack with hangers to hang most of our clothes. Also they do have a restaurant or more like a cafeteria type area, but the food selection was quite limited. But I guess it was worth the price. And also Wi-Fi was a bit slow, there were times where I couldn't connect to the internet.
Awesome place to stay
It was amazing, staffs was Friendly hotel room was great! Love it a lot Special thanks to the hotels staffs for the great help in helping us to retrieve a jean back while we accidentally left it there when we check out and send it back to Tokyo for us during our trip in japan
Great Value
Very nice limited service hotel about six small blocks from train station. Great affordable hotel. Small rooms but immaculately clean and modern. Bathroom is a pre-fabricated unit that feels like it belongs in an RV, but very clean and functional.
We stay in a double bed room. Price is good but room is smaller than we expect. Convenient for subway taking. Some buses stop just right in front of the hotel gate.
Not to far from the station
Additional charge may apply if you want NOT smoking room. Really close to bus station
Close to Kyoto station and many city buses
Convenient (5min walk) to Kyoto station, many buses stop in front of the hotel. Not much going on around the neighborhood. Clean and neat. Very good service. The breakfast is very basic. The spa is rather small. Overall good value for the price.
Very nice. Five minute walk from Kyoto station.
Very nice. The workers were very nice and spoke enough English to make check-in comfortable.
Good hotel, but a bit secluded
Booked this hotel last-minute twice. Friendly staff and decent-sized room. Only issue was the walk from Kyoto station is through an alleyway and takes almost 15 minutes and a bus takes the same amount of time. Otherwise the room was great. Had the breakfast before checking out on the second night; decent Japanese-style breakfast.
Convenient and clean hotel
The hotel is very convenient located near JR Kyoto station (10 min walk). The hotel has a very good breakfast and staff are helpful and sleep fluent english. The hotel has a onsen, massage facility and coin laundry. We enjoyed our stay.
Clean Hotel at a Good Location for the Price
This hotel is relatively new. There is a bus stop right in front with services to Kyoto station and several tourist sites such as Kiyomizu-sera. The Kujo train station is only two blocks away with services to the Imperial Palace, Nijo Castle and Nishiji Market. The Kyoto station is actually close enough to be reached on foot, less than 10 minutes away. All in all, it was a good choice for us to stay here.
Nice hotel perfectly located
Nice hotel perfectly located (10 min walking distance from Kyoto Station). Staff friendly, and speak English well. The room was very clean and bigger than the Japanese standard. Our only issue was the cold! It was extremely cold in the room and the window had some isolation problems (the window was completely wet inside and had water going over the bed). But besides that the bed was good, the room clean and the bathroom as well.
Great hotel but...
Its about 15 walk from Kyoto station. .now this seems easy if you don't have to carry big luggage around. In short it's a good hotel but not great.
This hotel is a good value for the costs with good nearby restaurants. It is within walking distance from the train station taking about 15 minutes. We took a taxi which cost approximately $8 from the train station. The room is typically small Japanese size with little room to place luggage. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Close proximity to Kyoto station and bus stop right outside to many tourist destinations. Food was a good variety - Japanese > western.
Lovely hotel stay
We really enjoyed staying at this hotel - the room was very cheap compared to others in Japan, but the room was very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
Nice Hotel, Great Value and location for price.
This was a nice boutique type hotel. Walking distance to the train station (< 1/2 mile) so we didn't need a taxi. Right next to the main bus terminal stop so we could go anywhere from the hotel by bus. The only downsides were a small-ish room (typical for Japan tho), somewhat hard mattress, and really basic breakfast that wasn't worth the $10 extra. We found it better to eat breakfast at 7-11 just down the street for 1/3 the cost. Very clean and quiet, other than a constant digital announcement from the bus stop across the street but you could barely hear it once you close the window. Not their fault on that. Nice room layout for a small space, great staff that speak enough English to interact with them. Great location in center of the city.
Simply loved our stay in Kyoto
Room was comfortable, a little small though. The front desk staff are a credit to the hotel, helpful and frienbly.Happy to recommend hotel if you can cope with smallish room, but reasonable sized bathroom.Yeah wife and I liked it. PS hotel should provide walking map from Kyoto station when room booked, as it is only 300M away if you know the way
Close to station
Friendly staff and clean hotel.
Convenient location
Though not that close to the train station, it is right across the street from a bus terminal station with frequent buses going to tourist attractions. Very courteous front desk personnel. We would recommend this hotel highly.
Nice and new hotel
There are buses that stop right at the front of the hotel. Walkin to nearest station from the hotel was easy. There is a bus terminal across from the hotel too. Room was new with the public bath/shower facility which was nice.
Very helpful staff
quite close to the KYOTO station, 10 minutes walking distance. The room is quite clean though not that spacious, but what can you expect in Japan? Front desk staff is quite nice and helpful. Especially Mrs. Takemura. She helped me to solve the amazon delivery issue. Very nice!
Average hotel but good for a short stay. Location is close to the station but far from the nice part of Kyoto. There are buses but I would recommend station closer to the city or in a more residential area. We did not realize how nice Kyoto was until we left the area we are staying in. However, for the price of the room is it decent.
The BEST HOTEL!!!!
THIS HOTEL IS A MUST! We stayed in a Japanese style room and it was lovely, new and clean! The staff were sooooooooooo helpful and friendly. There is a bus stop outside the front door that takes you everywhere. Only negative thing was the dryer! It was a steam dryer and even though I put my clothes in for an hour they were still wet.
Near to sightseeing places
The hotel is a bit far from Kyoto Station. It will be good to take a bus from the Bus Station. Before reaching the hotel, there is AEON shopping mall. It is still a good place to move around the sightseeing places and remember to buy a day pass for the bus, this will be a cheaper way to move around.
No Closet rooms Hotel
Tiny room and bed. But the worst -NO CLOSET(!!!) in the room. We could not unpack our suit case while we stayed for 5 nights at this hotel. It cannot be rated as 3 stars hotel! we have been in a 3 stars hotel in Tokyo and it WAS a closet!!
The rooms are tiny
The rooms are so tiny we had no room to undo our bags. It was clean tidy hotel . The wifi was ok . We had tea out and spent all nite out till we had to go to sleep . The station is not far you can walk straight across the road down the little lane about 10 m walk . There is a cafe down stairs but open only certain hours . There is a bath house but we didn't use it
Kyoto convenience
This is an average hotel of this type, judging by Japanese standards. The room is small but comfortable enough. It's within easy walking distance of the train station, which is a big plus. As well, buses can caught. Right outside the front door.
Good for 1 night
Great location near to the Kyoto station. The room was very small for 2 persons. Bathroom extremly small. And my floor was an smoking floor so if you are in the room u feel like ur breathing an ashtray.
Great Stay and location
We had a pleasant 3 nights stay at the hotel. The room was small which is the norm in Japan. Room was cleaned daily. Staff at front desk were very helpful, speaks and understand English. The hotel is a 7 minutes walk to Kyoto station through short cuts. The bus stop outside the hotel is very convenient to travel to Gion and lots of places of interest. Aeon Mall is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel and have a large supermarket and many shops.
Clean & Comfort
Clean & Comfort Hotel, nice and relax hot bath after day out.
Very good services, staff have a nice and smile faces!
Convenient
Nice hotel and friendly staff, we reached hotel early and they allow us to just leave our luggage at lobby and send all the luggage to our room before we back to hotel.
On bus line
This was a good hotel, though not as good of a value as the other hotels we stayed in while in Japan (Mito, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Tokyo). It was a bit of a walk from Kyoto Station with our luggage, but that said, it was probably quieter. There were a few restaurants close by, but most were back near the station. The best part was that many city bus routes pick up just in front of the hotel. It was easy to navigate to the sights.
Hotel is small, but comfortable. Staff are really friendly; however, English is not that strong. But the best part is the location. It has a bus stop right out front with buses straight to some major attractions. Shopping is convenient. A nice little place for a few nights.
Generally a pleasant hotel, but rooms were very small and without a proper wardrobe area in each room for hanging coats and stashing pieces of luggage. We had to line up luggage along the wall, leading to tripping hazards and a narrow exit passage.
one night stay
stay one night before go to Kyoto station 8 AM. Staff are good. Location is not bad.
Clean hotel and great location
The rooms are small but comfortable. Hotel was a short walk to Kyoto Station which we like very much. Hotel amenities and staff are good. Overall, it was a great stay.
Ideal stop over
Perfect room for a couple of nights in Kyoto, easy access to train and subway and as such all of the attractions this beautiful city has to offer. Staff are very friendly and always happy to help.
Great choice
Besides the room is a bit small everything else is good.
Satisfied except the noise (and the smoke)
The hotel is facing the Kujo Bus depo, (九條車庫) which is convenient for taking the city bus, but annoying during the night, especially if the window is open for venting. We had to stayed in a smoking room due to availability and had to keep the window open for the fresh air. The room 711 is small but well equipped. No closet, don't bring big luggage. I love the deep soaking tub and the the high-tech toilet.
Green Rich is located 10 min walk from Kyoto Station. It can be tough to walk with 5 languages since I had to walk through the neighborhood. It was interesting at first, but it became a chore after a while. Usually, I'll be very exhausted after a long day touring the city so it wasn't fun to walk another 10 mins. Taxi would cost me around $10 for the short ride. Overall the hotel had great service and very clean. There is also a laundry room for those doing long vacation and need clothes to wear. The rooms are very small and trying to fit in 5 luggage was not a easy task. Also there is no closet, clothes would need to be hung on the wall.
Good value hotel
10 minutes walk to JR rail station. A bus stop is at the front of hotel. Easy to use one day bus pass (500 yuan) to reach different tourist attractions. There are wash machines and driers at the first flood but driers don't work well. Staff is very helpful and room is clean and has good view.
Nice
Green rich hotel had a very nice presentation and was very clean. The service was very good too. They were pretty good with English (and a little German) speakers. I got to the hotel a few hours early and they had my bags waiting in my room and I did finally check in. The location is very close to the Toji station which is just one stop away from Kyoto station. There is also an all-you-can-eat Yakiniku place right next to the hotel.
Best Hotel in Kyoto
Amazing and Friendly staff willing to assist you with anything you need. Great facilities and very close to Kyoto Station. Will stay again.
Worth of money
Room is a bit small but equipped with hot bath without extra charge.Hotel staffs are friendly and breakfast choices are good.
The parking for guests is more expensive than the public parking spaces. Not sure why the hotel needs to charge.....
