Amazing property with beautiful views and wonderful pools.
Came here 5.5 years after our honeymoon. Only stayed one night as we were island hopping. Made me appreciate this place even more. Yes it is pricey but the staff would do pretty much anything for you. All expectations were met and exceeded. Kudos again to this Hyatt property
Staff from the front desk to the sundries store were NOT customer service stars at all, there was an undertone of job misery throughout, which is terrible to be around. I would also say that, while billed (and billed $$) as a luxury resort, this Grand Hyatt needs to do better - everything from the door to our room to the poolside chairs need some updating - it’s getting a little old/tattered. This is basically a cruise ship on land and anything besides ice and water were extra charges - FYI. Breakfast buffet was really good with so many options besides just “breakfast food”. The resort is family friendly which is great, but lots of babies and little kids through out all pools (including the “adult” pool). Overall this place doesn’t live up to expectations or price - just being honest. Kauai and it’s weather and scenery were certainly 5 stars though!
We Loved Grand Hyatt-Kauai
We loved the Hotel Aminities, So we will definitely be back here at the Grand Hyatt-Kauai.
Perfect for kids/family. Great experience. Fun pools, lazy river, kids pool, adult pool, slides, walk to beach.. beautiful hotel. Friendly staff. Must visit and stay!!)
Paradise! Absolutely stunning
Fantastic property!! Ive never stayed at such a gorgeous and well taken care of resort 😍 We loved our atay and cant wait to come back!
It's truly Grand both in size and amenities. A must stay.
Just a really nice place would come back
Will definitely come back
Really lovely resort
The Grand Hyatt is a beautiful resort! The staff was very welcoming and friendly! Would definitely stay here again!
Pool area is amazing. People are friendly , some are anyways. Although I am not sure why some are not . They are on vacation . If they are not happy , don’t go on vacation . Come on people . Wow
Certainly the nicest resort facility on Kauai
We stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Kauai for our honeymoon and it was the most incredible experience. The hotel was beautiful and everything we could want for our honeymoon. The location was perfect for all of the activities we had planned. The staff was very kind and accommodating.
Fantastic
A magical place!
Everything about this place is magical! the logon e fabulous giant pool, staff are super friendly caring and professional. Food at the restaurant is outstanding.
9.2024. Exceptional. Absolutely best of all the things. Food was outstanding at every place on property. Activities and property were outstanding. Staff in all areas were above awesome. Helpful. Friendly. Knowledgeable. Fun. Happy. Room was a king with ocean view. Simple. Clean. Up to date. Housekeeping awesome. Pools crazy perfect. Beach access much better than expected.
.
Beautiful!
Stayed at both 1 Hotel and Grand Hyatt during our trip. Preferred Grand Hyatt in every way.
It was a nice property with plenty of friendly staff. Food options weren't great and way overpriced, bar closed at 6:00pm (terrible) this place is set up for kids and not couples like the site suggested!! Last time I will ever stay at Hyatt period….
Frankly, this resort is not worth the money. The amenities are comparable to other, cheaper resorts. If you’re traveling in Kauai, spend your energy exploring the natural beauty of the island, and pursue material luxury elsewhere! The staff were delightful, they generally went above and beyond. Everything felt overpriced for what it was. I’d have been satisfied if the food or cocktails were good, but in general everything was comparable to other chain resorts (the cocktails by the pool), to bad (the food at Tidepools was oversalted). The exception to this rule is their bar: Stevenson’s Library. The food, drinks, and staff were all deserving of the 5-star label!
Very nice definitely would stay again
Construction with jack hammering at the pool slide all day, last second notice about the spa moving us into a room for the massage, the demolition project noise on the solar panels for the employee parking lot side plus our 10 min walk to our room was not in the brochure. Not what we planned for on our engagement trip.
This was amazing hotel. We loved everything about the hotel. Great for kids as well!
Lazy river pool is not a loop!
Absolutely beautiful property with spectacular views. Come prepared for lots of walking.
This property will always be our first choice to stay here in Kauai. It’s absolutely stunning and tranquil.
Our stay was fabulous. The grounds and pools are amazing. The staff are friendly and a pleasure to speak with. I look forward to our next visit.
The Grand Hyatt Kaua’i is one of my favorite places on earth. The hotel and hotel grounds are beautiful, the staff is wonderful, and the Poipu Beach location is spectacular.
Beautiful property and great for kids. The only problem is the cost. They charge you for everything, and I mean everything. For a property of this caliber, I expect to have more included in the $65 daily resort fee. Also, the best restaurant for kids closes at 5:30 pm, so you have to watch the time.
We loved our stay at the Hyatt. It was a beautiful resort and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We can’t wait to return!
This property is absolutely stunning. We loved our stay here and hope to come back one day. Nine days/Eight nights was not enough. We were sad to have to leave.
This property is gorgeous!!! The grounds are so pretty. We all had the best time! Rooms were great and the beds were very comfy. I’d say kids loved the pools and the slide was awesome, but truth is we all did. The sand pool was fun too! There’s something for everyone. No one wanted to leave, and we would love to go back! Great hotel.
Lovely property. The staff are excellent, helpful, accommodating. In room dining is very good (excellent for the majority of our meals). The views are stunning. The bathrooms are very nice - could probably use an update one day soon, but not bad. I would definitely come here again - this resort is tough to beat.
Our favorite place in the world, we visit here every other year.
Absolutely beautiful property. The landscaping is overwhelming and in excellent condition. The pools are perfect and enormous. The beach is pretty but not for swimming. The hotel location is pretty much ideal, right near the Mahaulepu heritage trail, Poipu beach and Koloa.
Safe doesn’t work Breakfast bad Dinner bad Food was not good at this resort. Very limited dining Tub shower looks aweful Sinks drains slow Screen slider and bathroom door close hard Magic show is costly for what it’s worth. States they will have concession offering popcorn and treats, wine, and that did not happen They did offer small glasses of water
Extremely beautiful properties. Excellent staff and service. Highly recommend.
Our family stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Poipu for half our vacation and the other half at the Sheraton in Coconut Beach. Overall we preferred the Sheraton. At the Sheraton we had bigger and newer rooms, with a much better ocean view, at half the price. Sure, the grounds at the Grand Hyatt are nicer, and there are more pools, a slide, and a "lazy river". But the place is just too big. It takes too long to get to your room, the pools, your car. Making it less relaxing and more of a planned chore. The Sheraton felt more "intimate" and relaxed. The ocean is way closer to the rooms, so you get the nice breezes and sound of the waves. They don't charge you for every little thing the Grand Hyatt does. The food was better. Lastly, there was a notable difference in the staff. Except the person who checked us in, almost every other staff member we ran into at the Grand Hyatt seemed unhappy to be working there. At the Sheraton, they all seemed to be working together like a family. Laughing and enjoying their job, which was confirmed by the multiple ones we asked. Our server, Kaisha, at The Crooked Surf was excellent.
Food was horrible and overpriced.
Awesome place for family weekend, great pool and great staff. Highly recommend
Very nice and friendly location
Nice resort but not updated especially for the price they charge.
Everything is a step above the rest. The SPA is super wonderful.
The staff at the Hyatt was amazing. Atela, one of the front desk staff members, was welcoming and knowledgeable about the property when i checked in with my wife. After mentioning that I was celebrating my honeymoon, Atela asked if I wanted to celebrate with some cider or some champagne without skipping a beat. It was a very thoughtful gesture not only from her but from the hotel. Ben (from Minneapolis, MN) was awesome too when we checked out. He was able to chat with my wife and I about life in Hawaii briefly before we left. Now that we got all the good stuff out of the way, the reason I didn't enjoy my stay and why I scored an overall 4 stars was because the shower in the bathroom had a mildew smell when we arrived. Needless to say, the housekeeping staff or the managers really need to fix this issue because I had read comments on this prior to booking but, I didn't expect that this would be an issue for my wife and I. I was wrong. The unpleasant smell lasted the entire trip. Hopefully, this comment helps others in evaluating their choices when visiting Kauai
Simply amazing.
Great place.
Clean and spacious. However, we had no TV for two days and did not get notified until I called twice. It was a bit disappointing as did not have entertainment when returned to room. We pay a resort fee daily and would appreciated some form of discount or waive for this inconvenience.
This is an amazing property (staff, location, amenities), but the food and beverage quality is sorely lacking. Overall: Every drink is at least $16. Mind you, this is a no-frills mixed drink marketed as a cocktail. I use the word "cocktail" here very loosely. I guess this is to be expected; you're on an island. Seaview Terrace: Food was served on plastic plates (unclear why; it's nowhere near the pool) and was served lukewarm. Ilima Terrace (breakfast buffet): $52 per person and everything's cold (you may start to see a pattern here). Weirdly, specialty coffees (like cappuccinos) are limited to 1 per person. Salmon Wellington was not. I guess the margin is made on the coffee? Stevenson's Library: No risk of cold food here ('cause sushi). Good quality, wholly uninspired presentation, but hey actual plates! Tidepools: Center cut steak, medium ($79 or thereabouts) served absolutely raw times two. Replated and reserved, no apologies, no comps. Also, expect to have shutters slammed shut and lights turned off during dinner if you take a late seating (8 PM in my case). I get it; you want to get home. Poolside (Hale Nalu): What you'd expect from poolside food, served in gray plastic buckets. I get the safety aspect here, but come on, a gray bucket is a gray bucket. Let me stress we enjoyed our stay. Do rent a car if you decide to visit Kauai (there's limited Ubers and Lyfts on the south shore), and eat off property if you can.
The resort is absolutely beautiful!! The flowers and plants are amazing. Great food and dining and a coffee place which was wonderful! We loved parrot time and all the activities that were available
We had a luxurious stay at The Hyatt. Right from check in to checkout, the staff were polite and helpful. So many beautiful locations within the property to just sit and admire our walk about. We didn’t use the spa or restaurants because we found great options outside for cheaper and wanted to support smaller businesses. But everything was grand for sure.
There were some areas that needed upgrading, such as the carpet in the room was pretty old, etc. Service staff were very good. Entertainment was good. It’s a big resort with lots of stairs which could prove difficult for people with mobility issues. Over all though we had a great time and it was lovely.
The property is absolutely stunning and has all the amenities needed for a wonderful relaxing vacation. I couldn’t have asked for more.
Amazing property with beautiful gardens and the most enjoyable swimming pools and lazy river. The ocean front has incredible views.
Wonnderful resort.
Incredible in every way! Awesome!
Staff was not nearly as welcoming as our resort in Oahu. They did not go out of their way to make you feel valued and did not provide anything special for us, even with it being our honeymoon. Restaurants were average and overpriced. Landscaping and pools/beach area were beautiful. We would probably stay somewhere else if we returned to Kauai.
The best hotel experience we’ve ever had in Hawaii.
Beautiful property
We vacation here every other year. The Grand Hyatt is hands down the best. We love everything about this property
Beautiful property and pools. Loved the friendly staff! Rooms were nice. The bathroom in our room was okay but would have benefited from remodeling.
The resort is a 10! Unparalleled! The service is ok and the food was about the same. If you use it as a home base and explore the area, eat at local places, you will find it to be simply amazing!
Nice
We loved our honeymoon at the Grand Hyatt resort. Such an amazing place & definitely book some spa time in their beautiful spa! Everything from the view to the hotel rooms is magical!
I stayed at a beautiful resort for three nights. There was a nice hiking trail just 3 minutes away from the resort with stunning views. I also rented a car to go on another hike and was blown away by the beautiful views. However, the bathroom in our room was the worst part of our stay. It had a terrible smell. I was also disappointed to find out that the ocean was not swim-able. I wish I had done more research. Without a car, it would have been difficult to get around.
the grounds and beach were spectacular. staff remarkably friendly.
I wish there were more signs showing where to go. This place is a bit of a maze.
Excellent, friendly service and great location. Pools and grounds are beautiful. At this price point, would love improved food quality and some room improvements. Bathroom especially could use an update and a little refresh of the room would go a long way.
Amazing property. I wasn’t sure if the extra expense was worth it, but my wife really wanted to stay at a nice resort. Man, am I glad I listened to her! This place has it all and you are treated like a million bucks! I’ve never stayed at a 5 star resort prior to this. Now I have a high water mark of what a resort of this caliber should be. Couldn’t recommend it enough!
The best hotel!
Excellent location
Showed up in November around Thanksgiving and the weather is perfect and everything Is still open and lots to do. The Grand Hyatt truly is a wonderful vacation spot with lots of swimming, lots of ocean and easy access to multiple locations from the resort.
been there 10x in 15 years. property is a bit aged but still an awesome site. we always enjoy it.
Friendly, reliable staff. Beautiful surroundings. Immediate room service, assistance when needed.
The property is huge . Beautiful view of the ocean just around the property . Food selections in the restaurants are subpar for a nice hotel like this .
The property was overall stunning! I loved the sea salt pool and dining options. Everything was spectacular, especially the spa! I also loved the parrots! 10/10 would stay here again and emphatically recommend!
Gorgeous property, beautiful pools and surrounding area, very accommodating and helpful staff. Five stars across the board.
Great service
Spectacular
Great resort with assume staff.
Absolutely a gorgeous resort!
Great resort with the best pool on Kauai. Staff was incredible and food was excellent. The location is perfect for enjoying the island beaches and shopping.
Excellent place to spend a vacation
The facility is very outdated and in need of maintenance and remodeling. Our room smelled like mold. Everything seemed worn out and run down. No snacks in room. No shower cap. Extremely long dark halls to walk through to find your drab room. Never again will I stay at a Hyatt!
I can’t speak highly enough about this hotel. It was excellent in every way. This is a hotel that is luxurious in its amenities and accommodations but also one that is personable and inviting. Staff go out of their way to be helpful and the vibe is accepting. The pool area is exceptional and there are plenty of dining options both on site and nearby. The concierge was able to get us on tours and adventures that I was not able to book online. We will be back!
It was beautiful! What an amazing property and staff.
The staff at the hotel were all so friendly and accommodating. The food in all the restaurants was excellent.
As an airline pilot, I’ve had thousands of hotel check-ins over the last couple of decades. This was the best, hands down. We truly felt welcomed by all of the staff. Beautiful Leis for us all, champagne due to a birthday in our family, great service in every way.
This place is truly magical!! We will be back soon😆
All inclusive feel...convenience plus. Not too raucous...nice quiet vibe. Self parking was tedious...usually full.
The only place to reset your heart
The hotel grounds were nicely kept, staff was friendly, and the resort was quiet there are plenty of options for dinner on the property and other restaurants and shopping near by. Would definitely stay here again!
Grand Hyatt is massive in size but well managed with attentive and friendly service. It's an exclusive resort, you don't see many guests, except for breakfast time. Gardens and pools are so beautiful, clean and well designed. (Adults pools near the outside bars, lazy river, jacuzzi, kids'pools, sea water lagoon, with a direct access to the Shipwreck beach. It's an ideal place for family, couples, seniors. There are some great dining options nearby (highly recommend to make an reservation in advance).
The property, grounds, pools, were all so beautiful and well maintained. The view from our lanai of the ocean and grounds were really gorgeous. The room was comfortable, quiet and clean. The res I would say the only ortdrawback would be inconsistent service. My 5yo daughter loved feeding the Koi at Tidepools and the Macaws in the atrium off the lobby, along with the great lagoon and pools! We may stay here again when staying in poipu, but hope they work on enhancing the service.
The property was gorgeous and I loved everything about my stay except the food. The buffet breakfasts were the best. The Tidepool restaurant was a great disappointment; expensive and the food selection was not great. The other restaurant's food selections were too similar, not enough variety. Staff were wonderful and very helpful.
Our stay was magical. From beginning to end, the level of attention from staff and the pure beauty of the grounds was remarkable. It’s worth every penny. Mahalo Grand Hyatt we will be back.
This property is by far the best one in the area. We enjoyed staying here, but I wouldn't suggest it for younger couples. Even though they have an adult pool, kids would still come by and some even jumped in with their parents. We have stayed at other hotels where the staff monitor, but this was more of a free for all. The staff was also not the most inviting. We stayed at the Four Seasons Maui last year, and so maybe we are spoiled, but some of the dining places the staff seemed to not be very inviting. The rooms were very nice, BUT again we were woken up by kids playing right outside of our slider at 7am. Overall a fun stay, and great for those with children.
Worth it
Amazing stay! Expensive place, but everything was nice and service was great.
