The room was by far the best in Berlin that I’ve stayed at. The breakfast was just wonderful with options and attentive staff. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful. Perhaps best is that I was able to walk to the Brandenburg Gate, the Mall of Berlin, Checkpoint Charlie, the espionage Museum, the Playce (shopping), and much more.

Quick, courteous check in A minor issue with our room was dealt with instantly and satisfactorily. Great room - comfortable and large - with a lovely bathroom. Breakfast was fine and plenty of choice. Pool and sauna suite were top class. Loved the location, Potsdamer Platz, with most things walkable. Quite a costly hotel but I recommend it.

The Grand Hyatt Berlin is an excellent hotel in a great location. Room was lovely, breakfast buffet was exceptional. All the staff we interacted with were pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend.

Perfect location

Everything was great, concierge in particular was helpful and front desk was super. Small quibbles: No hot tub (a luke warm tub was provided); I rented a bike that broke thru no fault of my own, and they didn't refund the rental (I didn't ask).

Gym didn’t seem to be exclusive to Grand Hyatt guests meaning the room became overcrowded in the morning. Other than that hotel is well located, rooms are a good size and quiet. Worth a visit.

Great stay in a quality hotel at Potsdamer Platz

Great service by the whole team and in particular by the breakfast team led by Timothy and Ngan Vu. Couldn’t do enough for me and the buffet was marvellous. Room (346) was very comfortable and quiet at all times. WiFi was good although aircon could have been stronger given the 32 degree heat outside. Bathroom had a strange layout with both bath and shower next to each other behind a sliding door which was much better than the stupid screens you tend to get in hotels nowadays. Not much privacy to be had though as the bathroom doors (there were 2!) had no locks, the shower door was clear glass and the door to the toilet was only opaque. Fine for me as a solo traveler though. Strange that the wardrobe was in the bathroom area.

Nice hotel with courteous and professional staff. Room was large and well stocked with towels and toiletries. The bed was very comfortable. Our only complaint was that the pool was chilly and the jacuzzi was not hot.

The room was a bit outdated but everything else was perfect.

We had an excellent stay at the Grand Hyatt. The staff, without exception were extremely courteous, helpful, and friendly. We arrived without luggage (which had not made our flight) and the team went out of its way to make and “Emergency Kit” for the two of us. Special shout out to Bellman Jens who went out of his way to take us to a local pharmacy that was about to close, and ensure we got everything we needed. Aside from that, the hotel facilities and rooms were well appointed, clean and in excellent condition. It is also in an excellent location for public transit or walkable touring. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Berlin.

This was one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed in. The location is great and the staff was very accommodating. The beds were the most comfortable we had our entire stay in Europe. Highly recommend!

It was very clean, service was excellent. Sraff were polite and helpful. Rooms were perfect size and very thoughtful designed. Shower was so nice and clean. Water was nice and strong. Location was excellent and walking distance to a lot of places including shopping. Highly recommend!

The room and stay itself were excellent and as expected from the Hyatt. However customer service was, or i should say is as still ongoing, is shockingly terrible. Not only over charged but back and forth in around 10 emails with the team, asking crazy information they have such as room numbers, email address all that they have and actually included in earlier correspondence shared. Very annoying, very embarrassing for them

Just love the staff and the room is expectional with the classic tub/shower combination so Hyatt xo s.

Good clean hotel in great location with a very comfortable bed. Only downside was the quite relaxing spa was always really busy and full of children so hardly relaxing and sometimes impossible to use.

We had a superb stay. The only thing that would improve things would be for the pool to be warmer- albeit we stayed in the depths of winter. Would go again!

Super Nice hotel and staff

Our stay was fine. It was a nice hotel however the night we arrived was pandemonium as the German National Football Club was staying in the same hotel as well as the Turkish President staying somewhere very close by. The streets were closed and it was very difficult to find any roads leading to the hotel. Once we arrived, the bellman was nowhere to be found and we waited several mintues. This was fine and understandable as they were probably busy but my main issue was with the front desk. I was not acknowledged at all by the staff while I waiting in line (no one else was waiting). By the time someone acknowledged me, they handed me to someone else who was standing there the whole time without a guest. She could've helped me from the beginning but only helped me when she was prompted. Vietnamese girl, I know because I am Vietnamese. She couldn't speak English well (no big deal but I thought it was an American Hotel) and she also didn't really help. We had a long drive to the hotel, hit with all the traffice and road closure, only for her not to show any empanthy and to tell us to wait outside for the bellman. Went back outside, no bellman was found. Went back inside and met a different gentleman from the front desk who took it upon himself to check me in and also help with our luggage. That was nice. Then we got to check out and the same thing. Staff at the front desk, not helping any guests, and did not acknowledge me in line until I had to say something myself.

Fantastic property and friendly staff!

Breakfast times felt stressy - staff stressed, coffee barely drinkable, poached eggs never done to order in 5 days! Premises excellent, desk and club staff impeccable. Bar and restaurant staff hit and miss for attention to detail and service. Area a bit noisy at night. Overall a good place to stay, although a few tweaks would make it excellent.

Excellent Stay

Original reservation used 2 types of rooms, at check in Oscar made it possible not to change rooms. The staff and food at breakfast every day outstanding. Highly recommended, a go to Berlin property!

The hotel is excellent except Vox restaurant. Bad service and poor food.

Beautiful hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Bar staff were extremely good. Room was excellent and a high standard. Pool was a lovely bonus to cool off on a very hot few days. We didn’t eat in the hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great location, just a short walk to Alexanderplatz and tons of must see's in Berlin. The sauna and cold tank were great, and the view from the pool is awesome. The staff were great with English only and were super helpful.

We walked into this room on a freezing night in berlin , the room was freezing cold so we thought the heating hadn’t been turned up how wrong the heating wasn’t working, they gave us a blow heater to it was sorted it was never sorted, the beds were not comfortable at all, this hotel is not a five star property we paid for a five star as it was a special occasion we didn’t get this, the hotel do not care one bit if you have an uncomfortable stay

Some shortcomings (particularly breakfast)

Overgrown weeds in the garden area gave away a pretty unprofessional appearance. Given wrong information about breakfast times (7am-12pm) when it was 7am-11am for most of our stay. Breakfast service was truly poor. Loads of waiters scurrying around but not achieving much. Took a full 12 minutes before we were asked for coffee orders one morning. For an international hotel, the level of English (for the breakfast team only) was very poor. It should not be difficult to order an omelette (got fried eggs instead) or crepes ("what's that"?) and more than once we were told things were available at the buffet and had waiting staff look like they were only too eager to walk away instead of being well trained and asking "is there anything else I can get for you"....it's really sub-standard service. Rest of the hotel was good but not superb. Swimming pool/spa/gym was quite nice - but again, staff were accustomed to only answering what they were asked and it didn't feel like they were trained to go the extra mile. Dinner at the VOX (Japanese) was quite good - not particularly cheap but probably the best combination of service, ambience and food during our stay there.

The staff were all welcoming and very friendly. From the moment we arrived we were greeted and made to feel special.

Good hotel overall. Avoid the ridiculously overpriced breakfast buffet though - inflation may be high at the moment but it's not that high! You can find excellent breakfasts nearby without paying anywhere near the prices the hotel will charge you.

I very much liked the staff and the service they very attentive! We enjoyed it very much staying here. Thanks again for a memorable weekend

Good option for sightseeing in Berlin

Good location to all the sightseeing spots in Berlin but we thought there was limited dining options in the area compared to other locations in the city. The rooms are a good size, the bathrooms are very nice and the bed is comfortable with blackout drapes. The spa facilities are top-notch and free to hotel guest. The weather was beautiful on our last day so we wanted to have a drink at their rooftop pool/bar area before heading to the airport but the spa hostess advised that we must be in a robe and slippers to enjoy the deck. I understand they wanted to keep it a spa experience but it was slightly off-putting and a strange condition to enjoy their rooftop.
