Bathrooms need to be upgraded

A very old building in need of some updating but clean and comfy beds in an excellent location for seeing Istanbul.

This must have been a grand hotel in the past. Those days are over. While the furniture and decorations are stylish, the facilities have not been mantained for a long time, just enough to be minimally functional. The staff was pleasant and welcoming. The location is great but if you book a front facing room expect a lot of noise from the stree.

beautiful exterior and interior architecture. bathroom fixtures tv need replacing. wifi in rooms does not work. more thorough dusting on top of picture frames cabinets and aircon unit.

Hotel is wonderful which offer the great ambiance of Great times, it makes you feel the memories of old emperor lives, located in the City and amazing sea view packages with breakfast buffet. Staff are well attended.

Perfect location.

I stayed for 8 days over Christmas and New Year, and initially, had problems with no hot water, heating and a leaking room radiator. After moving rooms, I was eventually given a terrific room were everything worked. It was large, had a balcony that overlooked the Bosphorus and certainly compensated for the initial problems. I was asked to pay an extra 10 Euros a night, but I indicated I would not. There was no problem afterwards. There was no English channels on the television, and the breakfast had no fresh fruit. I also had to use metal tongues to retrieve my toast as the pop-up mechanism did not operate. On the other hand, the hotel has an amazing roof top terrace that offers a great 360 degree view. The location is perfect for everything, from cafes, restaurants, clubs, shopping, public transport, and more.

This hotel is a special place, dating from 1892 when "grand style" hotels were the big deal in Istanbul as rail connections with the rest of Europe were coming into full blossom. It is now quite a living antique with eclectic furnishings and deoration. The hotel is clean, breakfast if very good, and the staff is very friendly and efficient. Location in the Pera section, not far from Istiklal Street is also a plus. Rooftop bar/restaurant offers great views of the Golden Horn. Prices are quite reasonable.

A hotel from a different era

An old world hotel, dating back to the late 19th century. Impressive and interesting bar on ground floor, with ornate ceiling decoration. BMW 1950s motorbike, excellent condition, in a display room on ground floor. Overall a hotel with plenty of character.

Buram buram tarih kokuyor. Gerçekten ruhu olan bir otel. İstanbul'daki favorim. Fatih Akın'a selam olsun.

Otelin atmosferi zaten benzersiz. Bunun yanında özellikle resepsiyon çalışanları başta olmak üzere tüm çalışanlar son derece güleryüzlüydü. Gerçekten sorunsuz ve mutlu bir konaklama deneyimi oldu.

Çok fazla beklentimiz yoktu açıkçası, özellikle konumundan dolayı tercih ettik. Kahvaltı vasat, tabağımızda özellikle 2 tane böcek gördügümüz için kahvaltıyı yarıda bırakıp çıkış yaptık.

Tarih hazinesi bir otel. Ufak bazı ekleme ve düzeltmelerle çok daha iyi hale gelebilir. Otel tanıtımında otopark imkanı görünmekle beraber otelin kendine ait otoparkı yok.

Nostaljik ve en güzel servis. Manzara ve Hersey harikaydi. Tesekkurler Emine

Wir hatten am 23.09. eine Horror-Nacht. Im Nebenzimmer hörten wir nachts ca. um 02:00 Uhr eine Frau weinen und schreien. Beide Gäste waren türkischsprechend. Hotelangestellte haben zwar versucht die Frau zu befreien, haben jedoch die Polizei nicht benachrichtigt! Es war KEIN PAAR das sich gestritten hat denn wir haben gehört, dass der Gast von einer Schl**** gesprochen hat und so seine Misshandlungen / vergewaltigung an dieser Frau rechtfertigen wollte gegenüber dem Hotelangstellten. NIE WIEDER.

Fiyat performans olarak gayet başarılı. Beyoğlu’nun dışarıdan bakıldığında en güzel binası. Tabii biraz eskimiş ama normal. Temiz bir otel. Üst kattaki restaurant çok güzel. Manzarası harika. Personel çok güleryüzlü ve yardımsever. Teşekkürler. Artık İstanbul’da ki otelim burası

This is an authentic, very friendly, hotel with a great atmosphere and location. It has amazing views from its roof top restaurant/bar. It is the right hotel for any Istanbul lover.

Hemen Yenilenmeli Hemen. Yakışmıyor!

Binanın tarihine, geçmişine saygı… Kesinlikle çok iyi bir restorasyon ve yenilik gerekli. Yerler halı kaplı ve onun yıllardır varoluşu havasız bir his yaratıyor. Tozun kokusu var gibi… hijyenik değil asla.

Büyük Hayal Kırıklığı

Böylesine eski, böylesine güzel bir otelin bu kadar kötü hizmet vermesine üzüldüm. Kahvaltısı üçüncü sınıf bir hostelin kahvaltısına benziyordu. Odalardaki rutubet ve toz sizi hasta edebilir, tatiliniz kabusa dönüşebilir. Rezervasyon yapmadan önce bir daha düşünün, Büyük Londra Oteli, Büyük Hayal Kırıklığı.

Glavani ailesinin mekanını tecrübe etmek güzeldi.

Güzel hizmet, odalarda eksikler var.

Çalışanlar çok konukseverdi.Otelin mimari yapısı, verdiği his de çok güzeldi. Ancak odalara biraz daha özen gösterilebilir. Çarşaflarda lekeler vardı. Banyo çok küçüktü. Kahvaltıdaki ürünler de bittikçe yenilenmeli belli bir saate kadar.

Tarihi dokusu, atmosferi , konumu, calisanlarin misafirperverlikleri muhtesemdi. Pek cok kez kaldim, her seferinde cok mutlu ayrildim. En sevdigim otel.

Daha önce de İstanbul'a gittiğimde kaldığım hotel Ailemle birlikte ikinci İstanbul gezimiz için yine aynı hotel i tercih ettim ve yine gayet iyi izlenimle ayrıldım

Historisches angenehmes Hotel

Sehr schönes historisches Hotel in guter Lage. Sehr schöner Ausblick aufs Wasser. Zimmer zur Straße hin bekommen viel Straßenlärm mit. Ausstattung gut, aber nicht luxuriös.

De ligging is uniek. De douche in mijn kamer, het kleinste, goedkoopste kamertje, was erg klein.

Old hotel, worn out

Old hotel in Taksim district. Room worn out, but quite clean. Bathroom very small. Best part is the lobby decorated in old style. Location is good, but very noisy at night.

Nostalji oldu

Sanırım en güzel iki oda bize geldi, hem odalar hem banyolar çok genişti. Kahvaltı ve servisi daha iyi olabilirdi ama biz genel olarak memnun kaldık.

Nostalji seven kisiler icin ideal bir otel.Taksimin göbeginde ve Gürültüden uzak.Ancak su , ısınma ve diğer tesisatların yenilenmesi gerekli

Hayal Kırıklığı Büyük Londra Oteli

Büyük Londra Oteli tarihi eçmişine sığınıp, tamamen rezalet bir hale gelmiş. Herşey çok eski, yataklar ve oda rezalet halde. Banyo küçücük 40 yıl öncesinin malzemesi ile duruyor. Tv küçük kullanışsız görüntü bile karlı idi. Kahvaltı 2 yıldızlı otellerin bile gerisinde. Sadece konumu ve yanıltıcı görsel fotoları ile durumu idare etmişler. Otelin kapanıp restorasyona girmesi zorunlu bir halde.

Teşekkür ederiz

Resepsiyon ve diğer çalışanlar gayet ilgiliydi. Bir tarihi eser olan otelde kalmaktan memnun oldum. Otelin havası ve tarihi insanı büyülüyor. Odalar küçük ve biraz bakımsız. Bir restorasyon ile İstanbul'un en güzel otellerinden biri olabilir.

Scruffy old world charm

This is a historical old hotel, it's Hotel de Londres/London Hotel from the old Orient Express days. Next to main Istanbul pedestrian shopping street, tons of good restaurants nearby.The reception staff is incredibly friendly & helpful. Rooms vary from very tiny to huge with sea view. In summer roof top terrace with great view. The hotel lobby is fantastic for relaxing in the evening, bar with old world charm, my son loved the parrots. Unfortunately, the hotel is very old and scruffy, needs renovation. The bath tubs have permanent stains and the rooms were very cold & drafty. Wifi did not work properly in the rooms, have to use wifi in the lobby lounge.
