Comfortable and Convenient
Comfortable stay with convenient parking and location close to several temples, shrines, and public transportation locations.
The hotel is great at a nice position compared with many temples and not far from the subway. I missed the fact that it was a love hotel, which was slightly weird at first, but not too bad.
Nice hotel. Hard to find
Great staff , rooms spacious and clean. Located near tourist attractions
Nice bang for your buck
Great for the money and location away from the center city. Some facilities were a bit sub par such as the TV/projector system but maybe that is more because we were foreigners than anything else. Room size was large and was good to keep dark when sleeping in - bed was comfortable. Hotel staff were friendly and tried their best to accommodate a non Japanese couple.
Nice hotel.
Nice stay. The hotel was convenient to sightseeing, bus, subway.
First time in this type of hotel.
Room was awesome! Bathroom was awesome! The tub had a broken spigot (water was shooting out) but it wasn't a problem because the entire bathroom was waterproof. TONS of amenities. Bed was awesome! Breakfast right in the room. We're booking another night :)
Nice stay
The hotel is a "love hotel" but it seems like it is gearing itself more to couples traveling than hourly visits. For us it was a great deal. The size of the room and the amenities far exceeded that of any of the normal hotels in the same price range. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We actually forgot some things when we checked out and the staff held it for us for several days before we came back through the area. If your looking for a good room for a reasonable price then this would be a good option.
Great hotel, well located and well priced.
The hotel had very good facilities, was clean, comfortable and well located. It offered great value for money and overall i was very happy with it. My only slight criticism was that there was no English speaking TV stations ie. BBC News which would have been appreciated. The wifi too would drop out from time to time but overall everything was great!!
Strange place. Maybe to bring your mistress?
To start the place is kind of out of the way from food and things to do. They have everything available for room service. Including call girls. We had a list of them in our room with numbers beside to pick from. We also had random condoms and a sex toy vending machine. If your into that! Also there as a slot machine in our room with a change machine to change your large bills. Very strange. The place is very dark and no natural light. Very musty smell. All in all. I wouldn't stay there again. Very expensive and not comfortable in the slightest.
Not what we expected! ;
We enjoyed the stay,as it was very close to the local shrines etc. however it seems the hotel is more suited to couples wanting to stay for short/hourly stays! We both had a laugh...but would not book it again. Its funny that you can have your car numberplate covered over! There was also many other signs of one night happenings that made us wery concerned, including the "outfits" you can but in the room!!!???Breakfast was mediocre, as was the overall menu! We are both very dissapointed at this hotel's advertising as it was totally wrong..for the money we paid...we could have stayed in 5 star accom!
Great hotel
Hotel staff was very friendly. English was spoken well enough to be able to communicate with each other. They even allowed us to borrow umbrellas for the day while we were exploring Kyoto! Room was one of the nicest I've stayed at, especially at the price point. The only problem with the hotel is that it is a little far from most of the popular tourist sites, which made for a very quiet neighborhood, but be prepared to walk to and from the bus station. Over all I would recommend it and would gladly stay again.
Highly recommended!
This is not a place where you'd be thinking about the service, but in comparison to a hostel, this is fantastic value! It's a North American sized room, with some additional amenities like a hot tub in your room for an end of day soak. Yes, this is a love hotel, so you'll probably take all of that into consideration. Location: About a 10min walk from the nearest subway station - Higashiyama, and about 15-20min walk from the very popular Gion district just south west of you. We liked the location of our first hotel, the Gimmond, better, but the location and proximity to what you wanted to go to were equally as good, especially if you don't mind a small walk. Food: never tried the in house, but there's a great okonomiyaki place just south of the hotel not more than a 1min walk and they're open late too. We happened to be there during the Gion Festival, which was probably why other hotels were booked up, and possibly why rates were a bit higher. Value: great! Unless you've got young kids, and even then, we never observed anything that would suggest it would not be suitable for them. The only two things might be an in room vending machine that sold lingerie, and depending on how savvy the child is with a tv remote, they might be able to get to the 3 stations that were broadcasting adult content.
Great room for the price
Best value in a hotel in Kyoto. At first I was hesitant to book a love hotel but after reading the reviews I decided to give it a try especially with the attractive price they were offering. First the rooms are huge by Japanese standards, king size bed, 60" TV, bathroom with separate toilet room, wash basin and large jetted tub with separate shower. and couch. There are some weird things like a slot machine and vending machine for condoms in the entry, the only thing that was a bit bothersome was the large vibrating personal massager that sits in a holder on the headboard. It comes with instructions that it's to be used on your neck, shoulders and back but I didn't want to be near it. They use very high thread count sheets and I can see why some couples might want to get away from their tiny Japanese apartments to this luxurious large room. What goes on doesn't bother me because I doubt everyone is celibate when they book a room at any of the large luxury American chains. Great value if it's under $100, 5 minutes to the subway and also several nice restaurants within walking distance.
Very nice but not for a solo person, would be a good hotel for couples.
Great three night stay in Kyoto
Welived staying here. Yes, it's a love hotel, but it was the biggest room with the best amenities we've stayed in in Japan. I loved the skincare samples- they even had the paper face masks! It was clean and so quiet. We never heard anyone else through the walls at all. My one complaint was the bed. It was king sized (yay!) but it really listed into the middle, kind of like a v. I did not complain as it wasn't a big deal. The staff was helpful. We could borrow umbrellas whenever, and they didn't mind is going in and out a lot. Great location. Maybe five to ten minutes to the subway, easily walkable to many locations. The okonomiyaki place in the corner was amazing, the noodles were great. And it's a good deal.
Excellent hotel for couples visiting Kyoto
Very large clean room, friendly helpful staff, nice quiet neighborhood close to subway and many tourist sites within walking distance
Great location, lovely hotel
This is a great hotel for couples, and is in a great location to explore Gion and central Kyoto. The breakfast in the morning is tasty and convenient and the amenities are really top notch. My boyfriend loved the huge TV (even though we didn't watch it) as well as the beautiful canopy bed and built-in music system.
Amazing service! loved the people there.
The hotel was very nice and the people made the difference, taking care of all our needs very fast and efficiently. They were specially caring with our 2 year-old child, bringing toys to the room and aiding us when she got fever. Also helped us with information and anything we could ask for. The best personal attention I have received, and I stay in 20 hotels per year! Location is not ideal, a little far off the walking areas for dining and shopping.
Not a holiday hotel...
We noticed it was a love hotel after booking. Service was more than limited. Room was pretty large but full of uninteresting and massive devices like a massage chair, a vibration machine and a casino money slot machine... But worst was the dirty bathroom or the all day adult chanels.... Dont even think about a nice breakfast or a nice lobby. The only nice thing was the area.
It is a love hotel...that mean only for couples.
It is a love hotel...that mean only for couples, no children.
Great place to stay, secluded!
The hotel was great, staff were very friendly and willing to help in everyway they could. The only downfall we found staying here was that no one knew where it was. everytime we got into a taxi the drivers found it hard to navigate to the destination. Being secluded however did have it's benefits of escaping the crowds after long days of sight seeing!
It's Grrrrreeeeeaaattt!!!!!!
awesome place
Nice love hotel
Romance, peace, privacy . Best choice of love hotel for couples
Nice location good hotel for a couple
This is what is called in Japan a love hotel. This means that couples come here to spend couples time. I hardly saw any other customers while I was staying there. This is a very private place. The room was identified as a smoking room. The smell of smoke though was not very noticeable. The hotel is located on a quaint back street. The neighborhood is close to some of Kyoto's most frequented sites. It is also a nice walk towards Kyoto's most interesting shopping area (pottery, clothing, woodwork). It is also close to a subway station, which is the best way to get around Kyoto.
Kyoto love hotel
Clean and comfortable hotel. Rooms are quite small, but come with everything you could need. Be aware that this is a 'love hotel' so does come with some extras - porn on the TV, strange vibrating thing by the bed. So does have a bit of a sleezy angle, but nothing offensive to the average person.
You should stay here!
I stayed here for three nights in August 2014 and was extremely impressed by the quality, space, and comfort of the room. I have to admit I was a little bit nervous to stay in a love hotel. Now I am so glad I did! The hotel felt at least three times fancier than its price. The bathroom alone was larger than the hotel rooms I stayed in in Sapporo, Osaka, and Tokyo. There was a free (no coins necessary) massage chair in the room, which was wonderful after a long day of walking around. Don't be put off by the love hotel status! The only reminders that you're staying in a love hotel are a vending machine hidden inside a cabinet selling things like lingerie, a red light in the jacuzzi, and a few select channels on the TV. I felt very fancy staying in such a nice hotel on my tight grad student budget. The room is also convenient to subway stops, restaurants, Gion, and other popular neighborhoods. I would stay here again and again! Did I mention jacuzzi?
Love hotel
The room is incredibly large by Japanese standards, and at only $100 a night you would think it would be easy enough to put the visuals of a love hotel out of your mind - I did not find this to be the case. If only those walls could talk.
Good Location - Close to Gion and mountain area
We really enjoyed our stay there! The room was great big and comfortable and the staff, even with only poor English skill did their best to make our stay comfortable. TV- program could be Extended with sports channels and international News program. We will come back to this Hotel for our next visit to Kyoto.
sensationell!
wunderbar!
Indicazione Adults o blu riduttiva
Great environment, thoughtful service. Highly recommend.
Lovehotel
Perfect service and large rooms!
We were a little suspicious about the level of comfort and cleanliness when we booked this hotel, as it is a "love hotel". But those thoughts were put to shame immediately when we got there. The rooms are very Big and clean and the service level is like a 4 Star hotel, thou discrete. I Would recommend this to anybody travelling without kids! At this ridiculously low price, you will not find a better place to stay in east Kyoto. We enjoyed our stay!
This was listed as adults only which I interpreted as no kids. I booked 7 nights and included the $2/day in-breakfast. It soon became clear this small and nice hotel was suitable for couples as well with not only daily rates but partial day rates; this apparently is fairly common in Japan with the "adults only" tag. The staff was not well versed in English, but all communications were successful. The staff was very kind and accommodating too. The room was very nice, comfortable, and well featured, even offering some more "couples" orientated features. The room keys were real keys and when leaving for the day, you would return the key to the front desk and you were given a custody card to retrieve the key on your return. The meeting venue I was going to was only a couple blocks away, and withing a few blocks are a number of eating establishments. I felt safe in the hotel, I felt comfortable with my belongings there, I felt safe walking around the area during daylight and night time. The rate was much lower chain hotels in that area and it was a very pleasing and safe place to stay. It may not have all the amenities of the big chains, but the Wi-Fi was very fast and included in the rate. If I go back to Kyoto, and my destination was reasonably close, I would choose this hotel again and as well recommend it to other adult travelers, traveling alone or with a partner. Overall rating would be 9.7/10
