Neighborhood was a bit rough but great nightlife and restaurants and cafes for relaxing during the day. Free parking in underground lot was very convenient!

Nothing is working properly!!!

This is by far my favorite hotel that I have ever stayed at. The staff here are so welcoming, professional and kind. I felt comfortable and safe here throughout my stay.

Location was good but the room was so dirty and old We can’t even sleep well Air conditioner was not working also When we got there they couldnt find the reservation and we waited aslo Never ever i can not choose this hotel again

It was more than what I had expected and the cleaning lady was so sweet I wish I knew her name. It was a wonderful experience.

Very helpful and flexible staff and a quiet comfortable room made this a very pleasant place to stay on a brief business trip to Ankara.

Very comfortable room and the hotel serves a nice (if always the same) breakfast. Some facilities closed due to COVID unfortunately.

The location is great. The standard room was quite small. Breakfast was okay. Staff are helpful.

Under expectation hotel

The room was very poor in towels, robes, soaps and very very bad air conditioning. Although the air conditioning was on but the room was very hot because the air conditioning was weak. The room service was below expectations for a five star hotel. The dinner and breakfast buffet did not meet a five star hotel standards and the staff was unfriendly.

-The air condition voice at my room was horrible!! - At the breakfast I ordered a pancake for my child but they said: no !! - I ordered lunch three times, tow of them came to me uncovered .. - The room is wide and confortable ..

No daily housekeeping unless you ask for. Air condition is not cold.

The first room they assigned to us was very warm and damp. Then they changed the room, second one was better but terribly we could smells sewage over night. The breakfast was really good.

Price is not adequate for the hotel

Terrible performance price levels, The hotel looks fancy but nothing was special about it.bad breakfast, smoking smell came in the middle of the night while we were sleeping. Overall it was overrated

The room was not big enough as looks like at the web page, carpet was very dirty, curtains was not working properly, there was automatic shutter but it was not working, bathroom decoration was great but wc door was so narrow you have to walk in sideways by the way i am 77kg, tv is old and no HD. Breakfast was great.

worst hotel experience

the first room they provided the floor was filled with broken glass, I ended up cutting my foot, and bleeding for more than 20 min. the other issue was the air condition, I had to call and ask them to turn on the air condition everyday, because on normal mode was on fan. the staff did not speak any English, very rude, and the breakfast buffet was horrible. the floor in the second room was very dirty. the windows were very dirty and dusty, as if they did not even were aware that the entire hotel walls were glass.

Points to be consider by management

One night stayed it was good but two points for management to consider: 1- pool temperature is a bit annoying, it would have been fine if temperature set at 28 or 29 C 2- inside room TV channels needs to add more channel to entertainment of your guests nationalities

Friendly staff

Location of hotel is excellent. Five minutes walk to restaurants and 10 minutes walk to central Kizikay area with shops etc. Some hotel rooms are like erotic fantasy rooms, not suitable for families. Bathrooms are open and baths have glass to separate from bedroom, with only a see through tassle curtain. So can see person in bath! Toilet and shower doors are also glass, which don’t close properly and can be seen through the sides. Hotel owner sits by pool every day because he is ill and receives medical treatment. Unfortunately he complained that the two children in our party (8 years and 10 years) we’re making too much noise in the pool. They were jumping off the pool edge (not diving), then swimming and splashing around .... which is normal for children to do in a pool. But he complained about the noise, so they swam silently but ended up coming out because they weren’t enjoying themselves. We specially booked the hotel because it had a pool. Customer relations lady (Sevin) was excellent, but the staff have their hands tied because hotel owner wanders around and controls everything. Hotel is due to be taken over by a large chain in the next few months and will take on their branding. But sadly the hotel owner will still be in charge! Food, location and staff were very good, but facilities disappointing especially for families.

I like large room with jacuzzi hot tub. I don't like the smelling smoke in no-smoking room.

Great and classy hotel

A successful trip to Ankara

A very nice, comfortable hotel. Stayed for 4 nights with my partner, she also rated all aspects of hotel as very good. Am planning another trip to Ankara end of April again with my partner and will be looking to book here again for this trip.

We feel like that we are at home,everything is perfect. We would love to come back stay longer.

The staff was always very friendly,they go out of there way to meet your needs,and the cleanness would make me go back.

Wrong floor finishing in bathroom

The only critic I have is the very high risk of slipping and falling in the barhroom. The floor is marble, it is ridicilous to make this kindvof floor finishing. Although all the rest is almost perfect, not to risk myself I will not book in this hotel any more. Birol Ongor birol.ongor@hotnail.com

Dirty room and unfriendly staff. Food at restaurant wasn’t the best either.

My experience was fine ! just fine and staff could speak English ! the view was great and the staff were friendly and nice and helpful.. I love the huge windows with great view...I would definitely recommend this hotel but they need to improve their towels because we didn't use them. they were too old for a 5 star hotel like that! right behind it there is 2 very long steers with boutique and restaurants. taxis are always there waiting for you and very inexpensive ! Very beautiful hotel - very business focused wound not recommend for leisure

Even though we asked for a non-smoking room, the first room given to us was reeking cigarette. Fortunately they changed the room and the new one was OK.

Everything i liked except the parking area which is difficult for van

Shower water was dark when we first open the tap. Spa has a strict gender policy for massage. Men are only served by other men.

Good hotel in the downtown of Ankara

Pleasing checkin experience, the room has AC malfuction however the reception changed the room immediately, good breakfast, kind and courteous staff, excellent location for business trips

Hot stay

Its a fine hotel, just for some reason my room was extremely hot during the day. Acroding to air conditioning unit operating panel, RT temp was +28-29C at times, despite SET temp being taken down to +5C in an effort to drive down the room temeprature.

Very clean, comfortable hotel, with attentive staff at a great location

Last year was RIXOS, this year is grand Ankara . The big difference is being international or not. I assume that the hotel lost its value when it is managed with the national rules. AC seems working, but not cooling. The room temperature was over 50 degrees celcius

My Stsy at Grand Ankara Hotel.

The location was excellent. As the hotel had several Mona Turkish speaking guests who know only Rnglish, I have noticed that those who did not know English to communicate well were also shy in serving you better. They may be good otherwise. Those who spoke English fluently were more helpful to serve you.

The breakfast was great, but we ordered a wrap and a salad first night, the wrap came with tissue paper Nd cling film stuck to the bread as it was microwaved and the bread had gone hard, inside veg were too hot from microwave. It wasn't new there minor imperfections, and the blind was scratched up, the room was noisy at times as it's right on the neon road, but had nice view of town Overall ok

Being an english speaking visitor the staff did their very best to communicate with me. I was ask numerous times if everything was to my liking. Everything was very clean, the service in the dining room was great. They provided a very nice breakfast selection. When I return, I will stay here again.

A gem in Ankara

Stayed 2 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. It does deserve all its stars. My room was specious and comfortable. The staff members were well trained and professional. Would recommend this hotel for all occasions.

Best Choice at Ankara

It is a tradition but a renewed one. Hotel of my childhood became the best choice among the other high level competitors. Best Location, best room. Week mini bar and house keeping must be improved. The rest was amazing.

Nice hotel with friendly staff

Everything was good. We switched rooms because of smoke smell. The new room was perfect. The restaurant was also great. My only suggestion is to make staff learn to speak English for better communications.

Climate in my room was terrible. Fresh weather need

It is a luxurious hotel. Good food and nice interior. The location is near to foreign embassies and parliament so ambience is dry. It was still disappointing that they don't provide true services. The shower booth got overflow and I called the service guy. Service guy only checked the faucet of sink and went away. I had my laundry put on my bed in the morning. They put it at one corner of my room (It was very well hidden and I thought they took it) After calling reception 5 times, they sent a service guy to look for my room and they found my laundry. I don't think they have professional service unfortunately.

Good location and clean hotel

A walk away from the good restaurants. Room is very old fashioned. Air con is really noisy. The unit is the width of a mini. Definitely needs modernising and soon. The bar has no atmosphere. Could be better. If you're here for a night or 2 it will be fine, longer may be challenging. It's clean and tidy but out of date.

Good hotel in a convenient location

Stayed two nights on a business trip.The room was comfortable and clean. The bathrooms were very nice, specially the bath tub. The only issue I had is that the air conditioner did not seem to work no matter what setting you put it on. It made all the usual noises, but no cooling. I woke up in the middle of the night due to the room was very hot. A colleague who stayed in another room in entirely a different floor had the same issue too. The breakfast buffet is very good and had good variety of foods for every taste. The lobby has ample room with many chairs and tables. Good for quick business meetings or planning the day. A good hotel in general and would stay there again.

My stay at Rixos Grand Ankara

Everything was great but I think it's a little overpriced compared to other hotels standing equal.

Everything was great the breakfast is wonderful, staff were nice and cooperated but the problem was only the language...The hotel totally is fantastic

Disappointment

We had a very small room, there was not even space to open our luggage. Our room had very dingy windows. In Ankara there is very bad and dusty environment, but 5 star hotel should have clean windows. Rooms have bathroom partly surrounded with clear glass wall (with curtain), bathroom has no door a it is opened to the room. It would be great for honeymoon but its not good for business trip with a colleague. Even the toilet has only glass door which is not possible to close completely, it always has about 1 inch space on each side. Breakfast area is great with many of choices, but staff don't speak any english, even not basic words like coffee and tea were a problem. Staff is also very slow and oblivious, we had to ask 3 waiters in a row to get a coffee and it took 10 minutes to get a coffee. I can't recommend this hotel.

Hotel is located in the heart of the city and very nice area.

Too expensive

We booked this hotel because it was close to the U.S. Embassy. We were really disappointed because we expected so much better, especially since a regular room costs more than $150. The hotel is old and seems to have not been renovated at all. It was not comfortable or modern at all (aside from maybe the TV). We really felt like we paid too much. We will not be staying at this hotel again or at any Rixos for that matter (first and last time staying at a Rixos). I expected better and thinking that it is a hotel with a brand name at least it would be decent (wrong).

Property is in good condition. Rooms are okay, nothing special apart from the large bathroom space. Service is extremely poor. No welcome smiles from the staff. Breakfast was included but not good at all. Same items served all four days of my stay. Waiters did not speak any English. Had to keep asking them to serve coffee, they would pass your table and not ask if we need anything.

Very good price/comfort ratio

It was the second time I stayed at the Rixos hotel on a business trip and I must say that it is very comfortable, the rooms are fresh and well designed and you get good service. And when your manager signs your expenses, there's no complaining about the prices as they are fairly reasonable.

Staff needs Customer Service Training !!!

If you want to stay at Hotel where the door men discriminate, then go ahead. If you want to wait hours to check in be my guest. If you want to be last to get served at the front desk after airline personel go ahead, even if your waiting in line first. The constant issue with the WiFi was extremely frustrating. This is from a Canadian Business man travelling with an Afghan Doctor. I can't tolerate discrimination. This is a wonderful country and these kind of actions should not be tolerated.

it was nice but the problem we had it was how to move from one room to other room in other flat. the elevator goes only in the flat where is your room . Thay told us its for security reason?!

Pros: Nice hotel. Very grand inside. Lovely rooms with a beautiful bath. Staff speak good English. Walking dsitance (10min) to city centre. Free wifi in lobby. Cons: -No tea making facilities in room. -No complimentary bottled water in room, which shoudl be provided if unsafe to drink from tap. -Meals/snacks/breakfast very expensive in hotel.

Nice and trendy!

The Rixos was really nice. You could tell that the building was recently renovated and fit out with classy fixtures and design. The room was really neat and comfortable. The service at the hotel during check-in and for ordering food was a little underwhelming, but overall not a big deal. Would certainly recommend staying there again!

Refugee Camp

The hotel was full of Middle-Eastern rebells being rehabilitated in Turkey. They had been so successfully rehabilitated that they all remained awake till about 3.30 a.m. going door to door and ringing each other's doorbells. Although it was a non-smoking floor you could smell cigarettes everywhere, even in the room. Some ex-fighters preferred to wander in the hotel in pyjamas. Needless to say they were all males. Still the hotel management did not see a reason to book normal guests in other floors. Independent from the special guests problem, I was unable to get an outside line from my room when I arrived. By the time I left after about 48 hours and 7 complaints to about 5 different hotel personnel, I was still unable to get an outside line from the room. My valuation: First class refugee camp, lousy 5 star hotel.

Mediocrity

The staff is friendlybut incompetent. The room has design flaws, the shower and bathroom are part of the room, which makes using the shower and toilet uncomfortable if you are sharing the room. Breakfast was average. The buffet had a big selection but the food was generally overcooked. They could not fetch milk for my coffee so go with tea, like everyone else.
