This hotel was well located, close to where we needed to be. Facilities were great, only down fall was that the lifts took a bit of time as they were doing maintenance one of them. Apart from that, it was an awesome hotel to be.
Great location cross the street from San Giovanni church
Nice hotel to visit San Pio resting place in comfort. Just park in the "third floor underground" park instead of the second and save yourself the hassle of finding the right spot
I arrive at the hotel, and it was totally different than the photos . The pool is at Manutance since 2003 . The restaurant doesn’t work and it is in another building . The rooms was totally old and not clean . We cancel our booking and waiting for hotel and expedia refund us .
Nice location and great restaurant
Hotel walls are very thin. They had live entertainment until past midnight which could be heard on the 1st floor very clearly. Hotel elevators didn’t work properly and would stop at every floor. It’s a miracle I didn’t get food poisoning from the breakfast with moldy fruit out to serve and other items questionable. Smelled foul near the coffee machine. It made me question how often they clean their lines. Saw a housekeeper mopping the elevator and my husband and I used it right after. The air smelled musty like she used a rag that smelled like mildew to clean it up. The A/C was turned off in the whole building (until June) even though it was almost 80 degrees outside. We thought we would enjoy the last day of our busy vacation relaxing by the pool (one of the main reasons I booked this hotel) only to find out the pool was closed and not open until June 1st. It didn’t say that anywhere when I booked it. One day, when we returned from the beach, there were ants all over our room and in our suitcases. I went down to the front desk and told him all of the above and how their hotel is beautiful but the standards are low. I felt bad saying it but he needed to know. I don’t remember him apologizing or doing anything about it really. I told him I wanted to switch rooms bc of the ants and he let us have the room next door which was nice. Good location to St. Padre Pio shrine and the beds were comfortable but I wouldn’t recommend this place really.
Overall a great place to stay.
The hotel was what youd expect from a hotel. Our sofa bed was broken in the middle and sagged unfortunately amd the shower head left a lotnto he desired. But otherwise it was clean and safe!
Location, location 10 min walk to Padre Pio area. Nice and very clean rooms.
Location was excellent, clean, comfy room and bathroom. Ample parking close to Padre Pio’s.
Great services
Best place and very close to visit Padre Pio.
Staff members were helpful and friendly. Convenient to Padre Pio Shrine. Parking was not a problem. Nice selection for breakfast. Clean rooms and comfortable beds.
We really enjoyed our stay ...beautiful hotel ! The only thing that could use improvement is the pillows...they werent comfortable...everything else was wonderful!
Absolutely fantastic. Central location.
Excellent
Its closeness to the shrine of Saint Padre Pio.
… just opposite Padre Pio sanctuary .,very easy to access
The best location close to Padre Pio church. The beds were very uncomfortable
Really close to Padre Pio Shirne Church and lots of restaurants near by.
Very clean. Nice pool. Friendly staff.
Good hotel in San Giovanni
It was a short walk down to town . Breakfast was good . The rooms clean and the fold down bed cleverly concealed . The town has some great bars and Tm restaurants . Generally surprised how big it was .
Stuck in the 80s
The hotel is stuck in the 80s. Definitely no longer a 4 star.
Ok accommodation
Rooms were very basic for a four star hotel. Cleanliness not up to scratch, a lot of noise in the corridors. Breakfast was tasty and location was good to the Sanctuary.
It had seen better days. Still decent deal.
Probably it was a great hotel back in the days when is was built, it has seen better days, it is aging. Had issues with one room and had to change it. The central A/C was too hot and there was no way to adjust it other than open the window. Our stay was in 12/25 so food options were very limited. Ask all questions you have if you decide to go to the pricey restaurant at the hotel, you may get surprised when the bill comes. No one spoke fluent English. But can’t complain about the cost of the stay, still decent value and good location.
Closest hotel to the Padre Pío Sanctuary. Staff with limited English knowledge.
Okay Option
Good! A bit sorry that all their rooms facing front nice view with balcony are double bed only, so we missed the chance of seeing sunrise in room as we booked twin beds. No air con in our first night stay, a bit hot in the very beginning, but okay when we were sleeping. Not sure if they had a group on the second night, the air con was working then. Also, wifi was not working througout our stay.
Pretty hotel. The staff was not friendly. There were no rowels for the pool. Phones did not work and wifi was spotty. Could nit adjust a/c. You had to go to the frnt desk to get them to turn it on or off. Disappointing stay
Great location but the rest needs attention
Great location. Fantastic service from the gentleman at reception. The hotel is somewhat dated and needs updating. The shower in our room went from very cold to boiling hot, so not good. The breakfast was quite poor. The prepared fruit was all tinned, the fried eggs were all congealed and very unappetising. Not a four star hotel. There is a good sized pool, but the water was freezing. Not a 4 star hotel.
Great hotel, I highly recommend
Hotel was beautiful and breakfast was amazing
We booked this hotel because it was near Cathedral of Padre Pio (4 hrs away from Rome with a 33 Euros toll/way), we have been planning to visit since ever. Indeed it was only 3 mins away by car to the church. The hotel is good but it is more like 3+ star rating, not 4 stars. Staff are either zero English (reception) or very rude (restaurant, they kept staring and laughing at us). Moreover, the room was very basic and good amenities but no flip flops. Breakfast is all sugar based, with 1 plate of ham and cheese. We got snowed in the second day we arrived, and it was very hard to communicate with the staff to ask for help, we were saved that one receptionist spoke Spanish and we did also. Underground parking. All in all, it is a good hotel for one night stay to visit padre pio, but not more since there is nothing to do around.
We came to the hotel at 10 pm and there was a party in the hotel lobby and it was noisy in the room. There was no hot water in the shower. The room was small and wery dirty. Basic breakfast. We didn’t injoy the stay. No manager to talk to.
Perfect
Check TV and air conditioner upon check in!
Make sure tv and air conditioner works when you first check into room... we didn’t realize ours was broken until bedtime. Otherwise great hotel and a fantastic breakfast spread!
Check room upon check-in to suit needs!
We stayed two night with a stay in Peschici in between. The first night we had a room with a shared balcony which allowed us to have a lovely dinner by ourselves but the tv didn’t work. The second stay we had no balcony and the AC didn’t work but the tv did. We didn’t say anything to hotel staff so maybe we could have had both nights in a room with a balcony and working tv and ac. Otherwise breakfast was a good buffet and the pool was great to cool off after a hot day. The center of town is fairly close by and is lovely in the evening with a lot of life from the locals.
Just a short work to the Padre Pio sanctuary. That's about it.
Stone throw away from Padre Pio Church in Retondo
We had a great stay in your new and modern hotel. So close to Padre Pio Church.Perfect location and great view and amenities. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Proper hotel but mostly dedicated to pilgrims
Proper hotel in the Gargano peninsula, but be ready, it's a town dedicated to pilgrims to Padre Pio which gives a funny mood.
Wonderful stay for the third time
Modern hotel with a pool , Wonderful walk to Padre Pio's church Restaurant, splendid food & decor ,with waiters in uniform , & excellent service. Receptionist , friendly & quick service Wifi weak .
Nice hotel close to shrine of St Padre Pio.
No aircon when we get in the room, wait for 5 minutes still nothing, phoned the desk, the desk clerk said in 5 minutes they will turn on the aircon..... more than 5 minutes already still no aircon so I phoned them again... someone from the front desk answer "Sii" so I said I'm from room #104 as I was still talking she hang up. Pls educate your front desk, I don't speak Italian, English is preferred. Check in August 30, 2017, check out August 31, 2017. Anyway thank you for storing our luggage after we checked out, coz our bus going to Foggia was at 16:10 and also a big thank you who called a taxi going to Bus station.
Never again
Our first impression of the hotel was good although room was warm when we arrived, air con not operational . Spoke with main desk who said if it got any worse to come back to them, which we complied with. Lasted until half way through holiday but heat increasing , so reported this again and reception staff on duty said she would switch on air con but that it would not be effective till evening. During that day the heat from air con unit intensified to unbearable levels, we reported this to reception girl on duty who was unhelpful however the bar girl asked to see room which we complied with and she was horrified at the heat and reported this to the girl on reception who said wait till 21:30 and speak with colleague. We did he came to the room and agreed to warm and switched off air con unit at fuse box but said nothing can be done tonight just open door.We asked to speak with manager said it would be in the morning he would leave a note for manager. Our night was horrendous so much so that we booked a hotel elsewhere for remainder of holiday. Manager not in next morning left reception to deal with complaint but offered an upgrade which we declined due to previous evenings treatment. In addition to room problem we found not enough staff on to run hotel had to ask at reception for drinks at the bar. There was a function on over weekend and swimming pool was cordoned off so we were unable to use, mentioned this to reception who stated that it was to cold to use anyway.
Very close to Saint Pio
Overall almost excellent experience with the hotel Paraiso, we plan to come back.
Great Hotel in San Giovanni Rotondo!
The room was nice, great view of the valley! Location was excellent, walked across the street to enter the walkway up to the new church! Breakfast was wonderful. This hotel will be our first choice if get to the area again.
Great location for visiting Padre Pio Shrine
Comfortable hotel close to major Padre Pio sites. Be prepared to walk uphill to church and shrine. No restaurants nearby: they are mostly up the hill near the church. Travelled to San Giovanni Rotondo from Foggia by regional bus, then needed taxi to get to hotel. Check in was easy, room was ready. Felt like off-season as hotel was not very busy and extensive outdoor grounds not being used. Location was perfect for us because our focus was on visiting Padre Pio and we are used to walking.
The noises hotel I've stayed. Very difficult to sleep. We checked out a day early and they still charged us for the last night
Just across a santuario padre pio a 10-15mn walk
Check in is fixed as hotel is not able to accommodate early check in due to their staff limitations. A customer service training will help the staff who is warm but will help keep the 4star hotel title The restaurant food is local and awesome,I would opt for a full/partial board in as the service and quality is MUCH better than outside. 5stars to the chef. 5stars to the hard working staff in the restaurant, they are ever so welcoming and are welcoming to even to explain the menu if you are foreigner. A must mention is Taxi officer Nicola organised tru hotel who went out of the way when our family member was ill. He went all the way out to communicate with the doctors in Italian and stayed with us for the whole process - really humbled and grateful. Thank you and God Bless Nicola :-).
Peaceful
People friendly place. Fairly quiet area,
Very nice hotel. Good location. Friendly staff. Would make the following suggestions: 1. Almost no information in any language other than Italian in hotel information leaflets re busses, excursions etc. 2.Extreme caution is required at the hotel swimming pool. The depth drops quickly from 1 metre to 3 metres. With the exception of some small plates just above the water line there are NO warning signs.
Language is the excuse.
Our room was too hot and not even air ventilation was present. They told was that it was due to a cold day prior to our arrival, but the hallway aircondioning was working well. Inspite of being a big Hotel, personnels have no understanding of English. We requested a bagged breakfast since we were leaving early, they said yes but when we ask for it and told them that they said yes, the man at reception said no capez.
Great hotel!
Outstanding food - every meal
Beautiful hotel just minutes from San Giovanni rot
Very pleasant place with great and friendly owners, a must stay when visiting the region
I would recommend it
Found this hotel in every way excellent. Would tell anyone about it. Thanks for referring it to me Shirley Baker
Great pool and beautiful grounds
Nice big room with large balcony. Breakfast was good too and lots of parking
Very enjoyable
We had a most enjoyable 2 night stay here. It is just across the road from the entrance up to Padre Pio centre
UK
Started of a very good holiday, but then encountered thiefs in the hotel, we had money and things stolen from our hotel room while we were not around, they have really upset me and my partner, the hotel owner was very rude and spoke with no respect and also threatens us. I will take this further !
Nice hotel, perfect for pilgrims
This hotel is perfectly located for access to the Padre Pio complex and has a few great restaurants within walking distance. For summer, it has a nice outdoor pool, patio and garden. The surrounding area bears the scars of recent building work which doesn't appear to have been cleaned up (rubble etc) but the hotel grounds were clean and well attended to.
Nice hotel and good service
Nice hotel and good service.
Family trip to San Giovanni - May 2015
This hotel is ideal for anyone visiting the Padre Pio Shrine. The hotel is lovely and the food is delicious. Very good value for money.
Great hotel, great location
We enjoyed being so close walking distance to Padre Pio's resting place and sanctuary. We stayed 2 days early January 2015 off season and found the hotel excellent and the in house restaurant superb. We would go back to this hotel again.
Beautiful view off San Giovanni Rotondo
Very impressed of the Hotel view, the location, and the facilities of the room ok
Good hotel to Visit Padre Pio
The Hotel provided sufficient facililties and parking. Staff were friendly and help. Very close walk to both the Old and New Church relating to Padre Pio
Nice hotel to look at but much loud music
Language was a problem as many staff could speak little English. Some staff were very helpful. I could not use the air conditioning as when it was on there was the smell of someone smoking. There was loud music nearly every night and towards the end of our stay the blind would not work properly so I could not get fresh air into the room at night.
Pilgrimage
Greatly disappointed with response to complaint. I reported room as being far too warm. I was told it would be dealt with by a hotel electrician/engineer. It never was.
Not What We Expected
We stayed in this hotel as an overnight stay before we reached our destination of Rimini. I only chose this hotel based off the location and the pictures from Hotels.com. Here is what sums up our stay: If you don't know who Padre Pio is, or you aren't extremely religious, then this town and hotel is NOT for you. We were even warned by the bartender at this hotel to stay close and not wander around the town at night. The hotel is the only decent thing in the town, but the people were generally unfriendly toward us - Some of the staff were down-right rude. We were the only family staying on the 2nd floor, so they had the entire wing turned 'off.' No lights in the hallways, windows boarded up. The restaurant was sub-par in taste, but still expensive. Best thing about the hotel? The pool. It was an all-around creepy and uncomfortable feeling and the worst stay in our 30-day vacation around Italy.
Luxure hotel without luxe
Very good wellcome at desk office, we had lunch at hotel restaurant, nobody speeking english at restaurant, service and food ordinary for this Nice hotel, we had a very good meal at restaurant nearby(trattoria sale & pepe), the clue has been at 02h30 when I woke up and the temp inside room was 28, when before sleeping i set temp for 20C, this luxure hotel stop the air conditionning during the night! Maybe to save $, but they mention A/C on publicity, because of this main last reason, i will not recommand this hotel.
Very good location close to sanctuary
This hotel is of very good quality for San Giovanni and provides great access to the new St. Pio basilica as long as you do not have mobility problems because you have to walk up a very steep hill to get there. The only negative is that the hotel floors are all tiled so it is quite loud when people are moving about.
not so gran
Hotel bathroom is a joke, could't even stand in shower (average guy ), the shower is not working properly, wifi is breaking every time you close you smartphone and not to say that is not compatible with laptops...at reception clearly having fun letting it all out on italian for one non-italian speaking guest... room was to hot with no good aircodition and the bed is too small ...overall overrated...
The hotel and rooms are clean, but the bed are very small, and not comfortable ! The heater was not working, I asked to fix it but the personal said all room are in the same.... I have a flu of this coldness room. :(
Great place to stay
This hotel is right at the foot of the new walk-way going up the opposite side (from the entrance) of the shrine to the crypt church. Huge and beautiful hotel (very large and slightly impersonal) but it has lovely rooms and excellent service. We felt the restaurant was nice but there was nothing remarkable about it. We were there for the feast day of Padre Pio with tons of people at the hotel (busloads!) but we never felt crowded, rushed or made to wait. The view of the shrine and surrounding area is beautiful. It is a small uphill climb to the shrine from the hotel but since it is a climb uphill from any other hotel, this does not matter. Will definitely use this hotel again.
great location for Padre Pio
Lovely hotel, great location. A little difficult when the receptionist doesn't speak a word of English.
Great Location and Clean
Very nice looking hotel. Very clean - nice rooms and nice pool. You cannot beat the location - we were there to see the church where Padre Pio resided and it was a wonderful location. Noise levels were a little loud at night - not good sound barriers between the rooms but ear plugs could solve that. Restaurant prices a little high so we ate in the nearby village which was very nice. Best breakfast buffet we had while in Italy. It was excellent.
Very close to padre pio church
Everything good , standard rooms have lovely balconys economy rooms do not. Restaurant is the hotels weak link, restaurant too small and menu pretentious . But staff were very nice and did their best .
HOTEL CLOSE TO SANCTUARY
We had trouble finding the hotel and two police officers were kind enough to escort us there. We were very impressed. The hotel was very nice. The complimentary breakfast was the best we had during our two week vacation at other hotels. The buffet had a large selection. As we checked in the hotel clerk was a little frustrated being we didn't speak Italian but the manager was very kind and was happy to help us. Very nice accommodations for the price.
Don't recommend it
I stayed with my family at the hotel for one night. Even though the temperature was around 90F, the staff decided to turn off the AC around 11 pm. I woke up around 3 am all sweaty because it was so hot. I was hardly able to breath. Finally, I went to the receptionist to complain. They turned back the AC but by that time, I couldn't go back to sleep. I don't recommend it
Good Hotel, but small room
The Hotel is clean, good Restaurant, rooms clean but bathroom is small, small space to shower, small bed (standard room).
Unforgettable, unfortunately
Poor service alone is enough reason to avoid this place. While my husband was getting the luggage, I checked in and left our passports to be recorded. We went up to the room, got freshened up, and came back down where the person behind the desk was having a rather heated (and seemingly personal) conversation on the phone with someone. After being ignored for a couple of minutes, my husband asked for our passports, which he could see in the slot for our room. The attendant responded "Tomorrow." (Usually we get them back within the first half hour.) My husband responded, "Not tomorrow, now." The person behind the desk sulkily terminated her phone conversation, went in the back room, and came out less than a minute later with our passports-- she obviously hoped to avoid this work on her shift. When we walked by about 5 minutes later, she had resumed her heated phone conversation. There were 2 dining rooms. When we inquired how they differed, it was explained that one was for groups staying at the hotel and one was for individuals staying at the hotel. What was posted in the elevators that I thought were the 2 specials for the day was actually the entire menu for the day. The waiters were rude; without a word, one waiter cleared off the table when we were done eating. (He couldn't have known that we were done eating and didn’t ask.) The procedure for getting on to the internet was complicated and required the assistance of 2 people downstairs. Skip this place.
Far beyond expected :-)
The hotel i guess is newly renovated or new because it is so clean. You cannot go wrong for the price. We never expect that there 's a nice hotel in the area of San Giovanni. The only thing is... It's a walking distance but it's quite a walk and a bit incline. But other than that... The hotel is nice.
restaurazione
Estacionamento gratuito. Fica perto do Santuário.

Piscina esterna ottima, servizio colazione eccellente. SPA a pagamento. Accoglienti e competenti. Da rifare!
Stai in Paradiso
Ottimo
Camera sopra le mie aspettative ,colazione eccellente, qualita prezzo ottimo. Lo consiglio
Excelent staff and great breakfast
I have been in this hotel 3 times, I like the rooms, the workers are nice, the bar has everything. I don't like the food at the restaurant, but it has a very nice terrace. Front desk the attendants are nice but they don't speak english very well. In general is a good hotel
Come dicevo siamo sndati a mangiare tutto tranquillo.
Hotel ottimo
Ottima struttura personale gentile.
