Best location in Buenos Aires, half a block to many bus routes, one block away to the Subte (metro), safe area, convenient stores nearby, laundry 2 blocks away and friendly staff. Fully recommended.

Good budget hotel near obelisco

Run down hotel but rooms comfy and renovated (not the bathrooms, though). Best nights -2- sleep in a long time....super friendly staff and though area is not great it didn't feel unsafe. Good value for money...all in all, recommended for a budget hotel.

El precio es acorde a lo que recibís el personal muy bien lo peor fue el olor a cigarro en la habitación no pude dormir del olor impregnado en la habitación obvio que por 30 dólares no podes pedir mucho

Needs work

Hotel needs a lot of improvements to be a 3 star hotel, if you use it

Lounge area looks nice enough but there's not much else impressive about this hotel. Found it to be a bit cold, room only had one outlet. No view from the window to allow natural light into the room. TV was poor quality. Killed a few bugs but not many. Wallpaper peeling from the corners in the room. Water emerged from the drain in the bathroom when you empty the bathtub. The WiFi went down a few times too including one tie for 12 hours (They had to restart the router). Bed was nice enough as was the the fridge but that was it. If you need somewhere basic & relatively cheap to stay in Buenos Aires for a few days this place will be fine but for a longer stay on a vacation I recommend selecting somewhere else.

Good all-around hotel

Clean place in a good location. Price is good and staff was friendly

The reception area does not reflect the rest of the hotel. The place is worn out and badly in need of maintenance and/or refresh. Very noisy. The bath was peeling, there were wooden patches on the walls of our room. But the staff were wonderful and the location very good for us.

I love this little hotel !!! I wanted something inexpensive and was surprised on how nice it is and how friendly and multilingual is the staff! Plus is walking distance from many monuments, etc. and short taxi ride (120 Pesos or $3) from Ricoleta, etc. I definitely recommend, can't beat that price! Would definitely come back !!!

The rooms look nothing like the picture! Tiny, outdated, run down room with no windows! Very noisy, you could hear everything in the hallways and adjacent room!

Air conditioning never worked. No water, nothing in the room. Bathroom in a terrible condition

The staff did their best. For the price and location, this place was great. It is not the Ritz nor J W. Marriott, way cheaper and I just needed a place to sleep. Front desk guys were hilarious. They don't speak much English, but funny bunch. Area of town is actually really safe, but staff locks the front door so you need to have them buzz you in. They serve breakfast onsite, $200, but better options across July 9.

Mold in bathrooms and showers

This hotel is awful. The room they initially gave me and the two others they showed me had black MOLD in the bathroom. I booked the hotel for 4 days but ended up staying 3 nights instead and went to another hotel as i could not take a shower in a bathroom and shower with mold. Mold is very unhealthy. They changed me to a "suite" that also had mold in the bathroom. This was a huge inconvenience for me (waste of time, not being able to shower, etc.). I saw three bathrooms with mold: the one they initially gave me, a second one they showed me and i declined to move to and 'the suite'. I am pretty sure every bathroom has mold as they don't clean them as they should.

Good Service

Front desk provided a very good service and they are very accommodating to our needs. Building is old but we have a comportable stay.

Pay a bit extra for a nicer hotel.

So it's a great location and it's cheap and it's clean. The staff are nice and helpful. There is wifi available in the rooms. However, there was no natural daylight to my room or half the rooms on the floor. The floor and my room were horribly stuffy. The doors were thin and you could hear everything happening in the corridor. The room was barely big enough to swing a cat. The TV played one station. Look for something nicer. It shouldn't be hard and shouldn't cost much more.

With that price, it's a reasonable stay. The room is clean-ish, but the facility is very old.

Hotel needs maintenance

I was first given a room 4x4 with a horrible bed old TV old everything. What the webpage s photo shows is not the same in reality. Very dissapointed

Buenos Aires vacation

Stayed 10 nights. Excellent location near the center of BA. Great breakfast. Staff was very helpful.

Very nice hotel close to all the popular places. Very nice employees and helpfull.

Get what you pay for.

Location is excellent and easy to get to and from. The rooms are old and need some work but it is clean and comfortable.

It's in need of some repairs. The breakfast was disappointing. There was very little fresh fruit and the coffee wasn't always hot.

Nostalgic Hotel in excellent Location

Whenever in Buenos Aires, I stay in the Gran Hotel de la Paix. It's central location is a big plus and the staff is extremely helpful. I love the nostalgic atmosphere of this hotel. Some of the rooms might need some renovation, but all of them are very clean and comfortable.

Long stay at the Gran Hotel de la Paix

The Hi-Fi does not works in the room and the management insists that everything is working fine and for several days was not working at all even in the reception and they had to take notes with pen and paper. The breakfast did not change in all the time I was there, for about 25 days. The big problem I think is the management that is not caring about the place, because the staff are quite good people.

Good hotel for the price. Room has an odor of must, however.

Superb Location!

Right in the central of Buenos Aires, walkable to all the main locations of the city. A smart little hotel with wifi that only appeared to work in the reception area, which wasn't a problem. Staff we're friendly despite what I read in previous reports, would consider stopping here again if I ever find myself in Buenos Aires

Good hotel, somewhat noisy

This hotel is very well situated in the center of Buenos Aires. Easy to walk to restaurants and some major sites of the city. The hotel as a whole is well kept, but simple -- it is not a glamorous hotel. About the room: the walls and door were very thin so could hear when the next room went into the bathroom and when people were walking down the hall, etc. I often woke up at night because of other people coming and going, closing doors. Also since it is downtown there was a lot of noise throughout the day, even late at night, which also woke me up at night. When I booked the room the description said that there would be a safe, which I understood to be in the room. The safe is ONLY in the room if you book a SUITE. A regular room does not have a safe in the room, BUT you have access to a small lock box on the first floor of the hotel, towards the back. The room in which the box is located can only be opened by key card that is kept by the front desk people, but you keep the key to the box (naturally) and can access the room as often as you want during daytime hours (I believe it was from 8am to 10pm). Overall, I was happy with this hotel. Having a TV was nice and the included breakfast was also a plus!

Very good location. Decent hotel. A bit expensive for that quality is my feeling (a bit 'past its glory'). Skip the breakfast.

De La Paix Hotel de Buenos Aires, Argentina

The room was a bit small for me. And the was bit softer than I prefer. There were scrabbled eggs for breakfast which i like. The beverages were a bit strange. That said the breakfast selection was better than some of the hotels I have stayed in in Buenos Aires.

Not as good as the pictures suggested. Very friendly stuff and always willing to help. Excellent location. Not good wireless, had to go down to the lobby to get internet signal for my laptop. Good place if you want to be close to the city centre but very old, needs maintenance

Upgrades Needed

The side street on which the hotel was located was a MESS. Although generally clean, the shower had a hard plastic "curtain' which was absolutely filthy! Breakfast had exactly the same choices everyday but was sufficient.

Un bon rapport qualité /prix

Hôtel ancien mais avec un certain charme. Bon accueil. Chambre petite, ouvrant sur un puits de lumière en vis à vis avec d’autres chambres. Bonne literie, chambre rénovée assez récemment, propre.

Custo benefício muito bom. Boa localização e pessoas muito córtez

Ótimo experiência. Local bem localizado junto ao centro da cidade, próximo ao obelisco. Existem vários restaurantes supermercados e lanchonetes nas proximidades. Fomos muito bem recepcionados por toda equipe, o que facilitou muito a nossa estadia. Agradecimentos especiais a Sérgio e Tito.

Ótima localização.

O hotel é perto de tudo, e também fácil acesso para pontos turísticos mais distantes de táxi ou de metrô. O quarto era bem grande, as camas confortáveis e o chuveiro ótimo.

Estimados huéspedes, les puedo asegurar que si quieren pasar una muy mala experiencia reserven en este "hotel". 1-Las imágenes en las que promocionan las habitaciones no coinciden en absolutamente nada a lo que es en realidad, habitaciones sucias, no recogen la basura que dejan los huéspedes salientes, polvo en los muebles, los sanitarios llenos de pelos. 2- El aire acondicionado no funcionaba, la tapa del baño suelta, el seguro de la puerta principal quedaba abierto cuando salia uno de la habitación, quedando totalmente accesible a cualquier robo de artículos personales ya que cualquier persona podia ingresar a la habitación. (Habitación 212) 3-Nos dieron otra habitación en peores condiciones (312), aire acondicionado tampoco funcionaba, la puerta del baño no cerraba, presencia de cucarachas muertas, muebles llenos de polvo. Tuvimos que solicitar una devolución de dinero inmediatamente e irnos del lugar a buscar otro alojamiento. Sin duda, para lo que ofrecen y cobran se quedan muy cortos. Instalaciones pésimas y un servicio totalmente fraudulento y engañoso a lo que ofrecen.

No es lo que se vé en las fotos. Las instalaciones son más viejas de lo que parecen. La habitación mia, muy ruidosa, encima al lado del ascensor. En el piso mismo, mucho bullicio permanentemente. No contaba con desayuno, y al momento de la reserva, no lo especificaba en ningún lado. No vuelvo mas.! Tampoco, vuelvo a realizar reservas por Expedia. Saludos

Terrible, es un sitio que no debería llamarse hotel, es una cosa vieja, deprimente Hotels.com no debería promocionar este tipo de establecimientos y el precio ni para qué opinar no lo recomiendo.

Hotel muito simples, sem conforto nenhum

Bueno, cómodo, falto ver si estaba fumigado la habitación

Funcionarios prestativos e cordiais. Localizacao muito boa. Negativo: Como outros ja comentaram, ha problemas no banheiro, com vazamento da banheira, alagando tudo. Ficamos numa suite, com 2 quartos separados e 1 banheiro. A cada banho, o banheiro todo ficava alagado. Ao tratar do caso com um funcionario da recepcao, o mesmo pediu apenas para jogar uma toalha de banho no chao e para termos paciencia, pois o hotel tem mais de 80 anos, e vem sendo modernizado aos poucos(!!!!!) No modo geral, instalacoes sao bem antigas e o cafe da manha e muito basico, diferente das fotos. Mas em Buenos Aires a maioria dos hoteis e predios na cidade e bem antiga mesmo. A limpeza do quarto foi boa, troca diaria de todas as roupas de cama e toalhas. Compramos direto no Hotel entrada para Madero Tango com bom desconto, e reservaram otimo lugar na plateia executiva. Porem o servico de transporte da Madero Tango apareceu para nos buscar faltando 10 minutos para inicio do jantar. Assim, chegamos la com muito atraso, e durante o show ainda estavamos jantando. Nao foi culpa do hotel.. apenas comentando aqui.

O pessoal da recepção são maravilhosos .. As condição do hotel e bem preçário predio antigo. Precisa de manutenção pintura etc . O quarto que ficamos e bem antigo. Ar. O ar condicionado apesar de ligar não funciona bem. O cafe não tem muita variação nem opção. A localização é maravilhosa.. As fotos São fake.. Estive hopedada do dia 24/11 à 29/11.

Café da manhã é bom, porém é raro conseguir as "medialunas". Por serem muuuuito gostosas, cada pessoa pega varias, deixando os demais sem...e o hotel demora para repor! Os funcionários são bem humorados e muito gentis. As acomodações são antigas mas confortáveis. Recomendo!!

Os funcionários são cordiais e simpáticos. A localização do hotel é excelente. É um hotel antigo, mas adequado. Ficamos num quarto de boas dimensões, mas havia algum vazamento que deixava o banheiro todo molhado depois do banho. Entrei em contato com um funcionário relatando o problema, que disse para a gente colocar uma toalha no piso. Fizemos isso, mas seria interessante que uma atenção especial fosse dada à problemas como esse,

Hospedagem

O hotel é bem antigo porém bem preservado . O pessoal é bem simpático . O café da manhã achei fraco o poderia ter mais opções de geleias e frutas e menos doces . Mas no geral foi satisfatório mesmo com a limpeza deixando a desejar

None of the published photos is real. They gave us an inhabited room first, then they transferred us to another small one, dirty, you could not turn around from the little space that there was. In the photos the rooms are spacious and bright but none of that is real, they agreed to move us to the suite but we had to pay an additional and even so, the toilet was broken, the shower lost water and overflowed. Mattresses expired by time, for a person with spinal problems (or an older person) is a physical and painful issue. A disappointment, very expensive for the cost they charged us.

Gut ist die zentrale Lage. Schlecht war das kleine und stark veraltete Einzelzimmer mit Doppelbett. Das "Fenster" war zu einem dunklen schmutzigen Schacht mit einer Klimaanlage, ohne Tageslicht. Da lässt man den Vorhang definitiv geschlossen. Röhrenfernseher mit ausschließlich spanischem Programm. Das Frühstück ist überschaubar, aber für 200 ARS noch angemessen. Für einen längeren Aufenthalt würde ich das Hotel nicht empfehlen, da null Wohlfühlfaktor.

Nos gustó la amabilidad del personal, pero no nos gustó la habitación, el mantenimiento edilicio, las infusiones del desayuno, el café sin gusto.

Struttura con arredi datati. Scarsa la manutenzione. La camera aveva il linoleum sollevato, carta da parati strappata, buchi nel muro, battiscopa staccati, arredi rotti. La colazione non era varia e servita in un ambiente poco accogliente.

Está a pocas cuadras de lugares de interés turístico.

Pésimo lugar. Toallas con agujeros, paredes con mucha humedad, frigobar sucio por dentro y por fuera, lavamanos a punto de caerse, no hay enchufes para cargar un celular(tuvimos que desenchufar el frigobar y el televisor), el televisor era un parto para prenderlo, habitaciones con olor a encierro que dan a un pequeño respiradero así que ni ahí de abrir la ventana, almohadas viejas y apelmazadas. NI PARA PASAR UNA NOCHE. UN FIASCO. NUNCA MÁS

Mal ...siento que me cobraron mucho por un hotel tan antiguo ..... No regresaría. . .

La habitacion un desastre. Olor tremendo a cigarrillo. Nos dieron al lado del ascensor Nada que ver con las fotos. Se escuchaban todos los ruidos. El ascensor un peligro la puerta se cierra en seguida y te golpea. El boton de apertura no funciona. El personal lo único rescatable.

El trato del personal es bueno y muy amable. El hotel es muy viejo y no se ha dado el mantenimiento necesario . Al llegar; la cadena de la caja de agua del sanitario no funcionaba, era necesario meter la mano dentro del depósito para accionarla, se reportó de inmediato y tardaron 2 dias en repararlo. Pedi el desayuno incluido y no es nada bueno, poca variedad, frio e insuficiente. Los colchones viejos y deformados. El servicio de internet muy malo.

Horrível

Os únicos pontos positivos são a localização e a simpatia dos funcionários... Lugar sujo, café da manhã horrível e ar condicionado muitoooo barulhento. Chegamos a trocar de quarto por conta do barulho do ar mas mesmo em outro quarto o problema persistiu. Tudo é completamente diferente do que é mostrado nas fotos.

トイレの水は流れっぱなし、室内でWIFIはつながらない、シャンプーはない、エアコンの温度調節ができない、フロントはタバコを吸っている。おまけに周辺の道路は汚い。ロケーションだけが評価できるくらい。
