Great for the price!

Perfect hotel in the heart of everything.

Perfect stay right in the heart of the village. The staff were exceptionally helpful and couldn’t do enough for us after I had a bad fall. Would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

Room was ok. There a week, but no attempt to clean the room or even replace toiletries. Frequent noise from the nearby highway.

The lodge was nice! The beds and pillows were comfy, but my bed had crumbs in it, and the floor did as well. There was a strange hole in the wall to some wires behind the night stand that let in an extremely cold wind. Which wasn't my most favourite in winter 😅 I just shoved a pillow between the wall and night stand for a solution. I was going to let the front staff know but the front office doors were locked and had a # to call. I didn't have the time to call and wait for someone. 7/10 stay

The beds were comfortable. The wall unit heater/air conditioner was very noisy so we didn’t sleep soundly. But the room was clean and otherwise it was a nice place to stay.

Had to move to second room where the toilet was terribly low for my husband who has big mobility issues. Floors were dirty.

Landscape and view around the place was good

The restaurant beside the hotel was really great! I did not dine in but took food to my room and it was outstanding. When I walked into the lobby of the hotel it was freezing. My immediate thought was" I hope the room isn't this cold". Sure enough, there was no heat turned on in the room to great me. I was not informed that the cable was down until I called the front desk. They front desk person did not recommend the restaurant nor tell me there was a discount (the restaurm=ant person let me know). The heater was VERY loud and I finally decided I would rather freeze than listen to the noise. So unfortunately, I will not be recommeding this hotel to others.

Clean option to many others in Golden

I have stayed in many of the Golden motels. This is a clean option to well worn ones in the town site and worth the drive up the hill.

Spacious room, comfy bed, helpful staff. 5 mins from the golden sky bridge!!

By the hwy. you can hear the traffic. Rooms are big and clean. Coffee maker was dirty i assume nobody use that coffee maker for a while. I had to leave too early i wish i had time to talk to someone about it. I would stay there again.

BUGS

Looked nice as we puled up, then the main parking lot was so small you could barley fit through. checked in, easy, got to the room looked clean then looked closer and there were bugs everywhere. all around the windows were dead and alcove little brown bugs with wings, flies all over. same little bugs all over the floors. everything was quite clean, wiped down and no garbage. but those bugs we’re disgusting, and to have so many dead one laying around. that’s not okay.

It was located close to highway and was easy to get to. Check in process was easy. Beds were comfortable enough but on a platform that was bigger than the mattress causing shins to be unintentionally banged while walking around bed. Room had a plastic bag over the smoke detector for some reason. Bathroom fan was missing cover, dirty and made a horrible noise when turned on. Floors were a laminate product that needed to be cleaned as all of our socks were black on the bottom from walking on the floor. Drawer was missing a screw in the handle so it just hung there from one screw. Pool was broken and there was nothing noted on the either the website or Expedia listing. Overall for the price it was a good place to sleep but has room for improvement.

Place is nice and clean.Staff at the front desk is helpful .She even show us the Mcdonal Restaurant.as it was dark when we got to the lodge.Definetly recommend this place. Had all the amenities we need.

Lovely room. Quiet and clean. Decent cost. Parking is a little limited. I mean it seems to eventually fit everyone, but it’s tight. Not a complaint, just a note.

Great and affordable place to stay in Golden. Room and bathroom were clean, and bedding and pillows were as good, or even better quality than chain hotels.

Nicely renovated rooms. Quick check in and out. Clean. Needs more parking. Overall fair value for the price.

We found it very disruptive to our rest that we had to listen to loud neighbours.

If you don't expect much, you wont be disappointed. It was an inexpensive rate and the property showed why. Very dated.

We called in just as they were closing for the night, but they left the key in the mailbox with instructions and we were able to let ourselves in. This worked for us, but there were other keys there, and I wonder about the security of leaving people's keys were anyone could take them. Also, we couldn't get the wifi to work.

The swimming facilities were not available..low water level and looked dirty. The wifi and tv didnt work for first night. The shower had poor pressure and leaked from the bath converter tap. We had a small kitchen which was fine but the oven was dirty. Key card kept not working and had to go to reception a few time. Staff was friendly and beds werw comfortable.

The view from the windows was amazing, it’s adjacent to the road so makes it easily accessible.

Google maps not accurate on how to access the property if heading westbound on the TransCanada. Very easy to access if you take the Lafontaine Rd exit off the hwy.

Should have mentioned there was NO elevator. Hot tub was NOT working! Hallway carpeting stained and dirty. Outside of room had rusty stairwell railings. No restaurants in walking distance except Indian food on property. Two buildings: main property was convoluted with several stairways inside. On outside hallway was an unfinished piece of plywood over a large hole. However, if you can look past all that the room had very comfy bed/good pillows, excellent water pressure & temp of shower and a nice view of mountains. Room was recently renovated with very nice pine features and wood look vinyl flooring. Bar fridge was generous size with freezer:

Nice, clean, newer build property, but sound isolation isn`t the best for light sleepers - our window was facing the highway and we could hear more noise than we wanted to.

There was no wifi the entire stay (1night) Heater did not work although they did bring in a portable heater. Freezer in mini fridge had not been defrosted in a very long time. The heater/air condition which did not work was full of dust and dirt, had not been touched by a cleaner in a very long time. I sent photos to Expedia as well as the property requesting a refund however was denied. No more Expedia for me and obviously won't ever stay at the Golden Village Lodge again

We stayed for 2 nights at the property. Room was a bit small but had all the conveniences. Staff were helpful. Indian restaurant next door serves great food.

Stayed twice first time pool not heated this time pool not working and hot tub not working . It could be really nice ,but house keeping lacks . Walls dirty . I like it there otherwise. Had floors instead of rugs which I really liked. Staff was friendly.

Not the cleanest - nothing overt, but buildup on sinks, in corners of rooms, etc. also, WiFi didn’t work in the back building where I stayed

Everyone was friendly. Place was clean. We were very comfortable. Navigating road system, to get into and out of motel, as Australians, was interesting. Indian restaueant exceptional.

Very clean room with a comfy bed and private balcony. Bathroom was clean. It's just off the hwy so there is a bit of traffic noise but not too bad. Overall good value, would stay here again.

Bugs in the room, mold in the shower

It was clean, modern, very quiet, and had a delicious Indian restaurant right next to it. Very helpful staff also.

Was an excellent venue for our trip going onwards to Kelowna. Great dining options.

A so-so property. The hot tub and pool were down for maintenance.

It was not as the pictures. Old but clean. The beds were so high I had to use a chair to get in Beds were comfortable tho.

The room was clean and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom fan was quite noisy when first turned on and full of dust. At times the highway noise was loud. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would have enjoyed the hot tub after our hike but it was out of order. All in all, a good stay.

Liked the beds and bedding… very comfortable. However, the bathtub was very slippery. I’d recommend a bathmat for guest safety.

One night stay travelling elsewhere

Our room was filthy. Having a car break down on a long weekend, our options were limited. Otherwise we would have left immediately. The floors were dirty, the bed frames were dirty, the walls and furniture had splatter on them. The curtains had something smeared all over them. There was black hair and flies all over the floor. It smelled dirty. Over all, an awful experience. When I told the front desk, her reply was Oh sorry.

It is a small town so don’t expect a lot.

Staff and place were awesome. Not to mention the restaurant on site was delicious..but the housekeeping was subpar and the hot tub was not functioning and we were never told why :(

The room was clean and neat. My husband and I always travel with 2 suitcases and this is the first place we have ever stayed that had 2 suitcase stands so we did not have to put one on the floor. Kudos to you!!

dirty floors

Check in & check out was easy. In the room the lamp had become unplugged sometime previous to our stay. It wasn’t possible to be plugged back in due to the plug being behind the bed and the bed could not be moved as it was attached to the wall. Other than that minor issue, it met our needs.

Poor unit awcurity, no dead bolt or chain on door. No towel bars. AC filter terribly dirty. Exterior walkway structurally unsound. Go elsewhere.
