I was double charged at check in and the front desk said they're was nothing they can do about it. Hot tub didn't have hot water. The pool area was well over capacity, the shower in my room was either to hot to bath or too cold to bathe . Not one to really complain but this stay from the start was an absolute experience I didn't need.

Safety issue.

Although it was a beautiful updated and newly renovated room, I was here with three young girls and myself(adult female) and there was an adjoining room that connected to the next that had no deadbolt or latch lock. It was a push in doorknob lock that from the other side would only need to push a card through to open. The other attached room had 4 adult men staying in it who were drinking well into the night. I asked to move rooms and although full on what they called the extended stay, they had rooms inside the hotel. Needless to say I didn’t get much sleep!

The suites were renovated very nicely, loved the space!

There was never anyone around to help us or never anyone at the front desk

Marvellous

The level of service and attention has exceeded the 3 star level. Each contact with the establishment's personnel was a plwasure. The maintenance person was at our door step in less than two minutes and solved our issue with a large smile and extreme courtessy. Housekeeping is providing a very clean and comforting environment. Thanks for a pleasant stay.

Nice but some deficiencies.

The staff were friendly and eager to assist however some of my issues were not resolved or only partially resolved during my stay. Breakfast was awesome and included with lots of choice and especially the made to order omelettes. The room was large and the bed comfortable but it was freezing when I arrived. I turned the heat on and set the temperature around 22 degrees however when I would leave the room the heat would turn off and revert to 18.5. I had to turn the heat back on and wait for the room to warm up. The bathroom never got warm and the floor was freezing. I requested assistance twice and while they came immediately to fix it, the problem persisted. Even once while I was in the room, the AC starting blowing cool air so I had to reset the thermostat. Upon my arrival I alerted the front desk that the latch lock bar on the entry door was missing. They said they would have someone take a look but it never got fixed during my 3 night stay. I felt a little uneasy without that secondary lock especially since I was in a room with direct access outside.

I like the restaurant and the free breakfast. Location was great accessible and close to other places

The room (one of the drive up units) was large, well equipped and clean. All good. But the TV was annoying as we couldn’t get the remote or otherwise to get the screen to go dark for sleeping and the plug-in was concealed behind the tv so we didn’t realize how to unplug. It was on annoyingly bright all night. And most frustrating was the poorly functioning EV charger. This was a deciding feature for us choosing this hotel and as a result our EV was not charged as needed for our trip home. That was an adventure. But the hotel breakfast was outstanding and staff were excellent in all respects.

There was no heat turned on in the cabin at the back of the hotel the first night I was there. It was really cold for a few hours until I turned the heat up.I arrived at midnight and called ahead to say I would be late. I asked not to be disturbed in my room until check out. They said they will make a note of that. Next day someone was in my room. They didn't make the bed but took the dirty towels and changed the garbage. The front desk told me there was a homeless shelter across the street and they closed the back door at night. They said not often someone on drugs came around and tried to get in the dumpster . This made me nervous and I asked for an escort to the back of the building and was told no they couldn't. They wouldn't unlock the back door that they just let me because I had a problem with my heat again.i had to walk from the front of the building to the back alone feeling very nervous. Don't think I'll go back there again.

We loved our stay at this location. It is clean, comfortable and easy to find. The staff were great. Special thanks to Ravi who made me the best omelet I have ever had. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you to all the staff at this location.

I liked the option of not staying in the actual hotel, nice size room. Conveniently located.

Cozy cave with a fireplace

Pleasant surprise when I opened the door of the single room. Usually motels are basic, drab and just enough to get you through the night. This room had a fireplace, kitchenette (with full fridge, dish washer, cutlery, plates, cups, etc), King Sized bed, and an updated bathroom. Pull up parking made unloading easy. Even though the view was minimal with two tiny windows, the place felt like a cozy cave. Was perfect for my business travel trip to Truro.

I really liked the room that I rented. I did have some issues with the TV, someone was sent over right away to check it out. The only thing I would suggest is sending staff around to public location to at least keep them straighted up. The night I was there they were hosting events and the next day there was still cups and bottles, chip bags, pizza boxes left strewn about in areas people coming from outside had to walk through to get to breakfast. Besides that oversight the rest of the places I had gone where good. I had a good breakfast that was included in the price of my stay, which seems to be happening less and less these days. Overall would definitely recommend and stay again myself for sure 😃

Not a good stay.

Came to town spent Christmas with family. Checked into the hotel on 24 December. Upon my arrival, I had to kick the snow from in front of the door just to get in the room. The plough had went by. I would say several hours before because it was all ice and nobody shovelled it from the doors. I got in and got the room set up and realized how nasty the floor was. There was several white stains over the entire floor and footprints. Brought this to the attention of the front desk and asked them to please clean the room again. I then went to a family function and arrive back about 10 o’clock that night. When I get back to the room, somebody had been in the room and looked like they tried to clean. Unfortunately, they did not mop the floor as the white stains were still on the floor. I know they could’ve been removed because I did it myself. I brought this to the attention of the front desk yet again the next morning and was told “oh somebody must’ve walked on the floor when it was wet” On my first night, I asked somebody for management to contact me and now two weeks later I still have not heard from anyone

My stay was great initially, cleaning staff and manager are great, the room itself was great, but the front desk staff messed up my billing so bad, it caused a over 7 day long battle and multiple messed up refunds, a locked up bank account. The front desk staff all need to be retrained how to bill peoples cards properly and with proper permission.

The room was a good size but for an extended stay with a kitchenette, it would be great to have more than one chair in the room so two people can sit and eat. The sound proofing is at a minimum, as we heard all conversations. Our smoke/CO2 detector needed a battery. Instead of replacing the battery, the staff from front desk just came and removed the detector. Not an ideal situation. Great breakfasts.

Did not know when booking that these are not in the main building. Still had a great stay, just had to walk across the parking lot to go to the pool.

Very nice stay room was good and clean bathroom had a lovely walk in shower. There was a very nice little kitchenette with sink and coffee station. We didn’t use any of the amenities so I can't review on those.

The room was large clean and the beds comfortable easy parking helpful staff conveniently located for shopping and eating great restaurant and breakfast the bar closed way to early at 9pm

Clean and affordable

Room was clean and comfortable enough, couldn’t figure out the heat as there were no instructions and about 3 different switches/dials. We got in late and just wanted to sleep instead of calling the front desk to have someone come to the room,etc. but it was quite cold in the morning

We loved Bruce the bartender. The room service was delicious. Rooms were clean and spacious.

From the moment we stepped inside the doors, the staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful. Accommodations are bright clean, comfortable beds and pillows. Restaurant food was amazing (we ate dinner upon arrival) and well priced. Breakfast was included and it was a full hot buffet with something for everyone, including a made to order egg station. We weren't part of the main building, so we did have to go outside to walk to our motel like room. Just information to know, not a complaint! Highly recommend and we'll choose again if we're in that area.

We have stayed at the Glengarry multiple times in the past, always great. This occasion the room we were givin stank horribly like someone had been cooking fish and it did not go away, as well as neighbours on one side smoking pot all Evening wafting into our room, and on other side partying all night. Overall poor experience

The extended stay portion of the hotel seems as though it was rapid built for long term rig workers or such. Beautifully designed but flooring was in poor condition and not well maintained. When I stay here again I will try to get a room in the main hotel. But, I won’t hesitate to stay in the extended portion of required. Clean, comfy and cozy

Will definitely go back

The gentlemen at checkin was very kind and pleasant and lobby was nice. The room was recently renovated and clean, but the TV did not have a remote and the phone was also broken so I could not call about it, I had to go back to the front desk (in another building a long walk away) to let them know. They sent someone, but the remote only took care of the cable box and it would not control the volume or the on/off. Super inconvenient. Also, the ice machine is A LONG walk away. In another building and up on another floor. It's truly ridiculous.

When one of the staff was setting the table they laid out the silver wear by handling it not by the handles but by the food handling ends. It just did not set right with me it may not be a big deal.

The kitchenette

Overall, a very nice property. I would say that the breakfast was not very good. It was okay nothing to write home about.The extended stay rooms were newly renovated and very clean, the only thing that they were lacking was utensils in the kitchenets.. Definitely would stay here again

It was an extremely convenient location and the pool and hot tub were just with the doctor ordered.

We was put in one of the out buildings in the back we could hear our neighbours talking and there was load banging my girlfriend was getting scared first room we was put in lock was broken looked like door had been kicked in Maine building seemed nice breakfast was good

Three stays at different times.

During our stay in Nova Scotia we stayed at this hotel/motel three times. Employees are very kind and breakfast is fantastic. Location is very practical.

Food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious!! A must try for anyone visiting! The pool and hot tub were nice and relaxing after a day of travel.

We called the reception to complaint about a noise problem and they didnt do anything but when we went to drop or keys she told us we got a complaint from our room regarding noise problem. And i explain her we are the one who called us to complaint and the way she speak to us she was very rude

Overall was pleased with the hotel. Outside of the extended stay part of the hotel looked a little rough at first, but the inside of the rooms were updated and clean.

Clean rooms, modern decor, great breakfast, friendly staff!

We enjoyed our stay at the Glenn, the breakfast was the star of our stay. My husband actually wants us to go back there just for this reason. My only problem was that the Tv in our room didn’t even YouTube and the easy link channels were boring for our daughter. We asked the receptionist and they said if we could figure it out then good and fine if not there is nothing they can do. Which to me is poor given that the tv is a smart tv. I think they should do something about this as not everyone likes watching cable.

Great place to stay

It was very nice. Only problem was no signage so hard to figure out that its part of Best Western.

The floor has corners sticking up that cut my foot. We were okay with that. But our neighbours were extraordinarily noisy and even had the police show up around 2am which woke us right up with the lights and the pounding on the neighbours door. I had a 10 hour drive the next day and did not sleep well for it. Not a great experience. The room itself was clean and nice enough. But there was no hand soap in the bathroom.

When the gentleman at the desk was busy with someone else. After 5 or so minutes the Front Desk Supervisor came out, she appeared very annoyed to have to help me. Barely spoke, pointed where to initial and then handed me the 1 key and said "youre in the back building". When we got to the room there was a man standing on the steps of the room next to us who just stared the entire time. We walked in and the room reaked of weed! The room was mainly clean but the bathroom was gross!! See pics attached. Obviously the glass doors to the shower hadnt been cleaned because as soon as they steamed up i could see hand printed on the doors inside. Disgusting! Not to mention the stain that hadnt been washed off the floor of the shower. The sketchy people next door were loud and constant slamming. The guy outside when we arrived was still out there anytime we went outside to go to the car for at least a few hours looking like he was guarding that room. Extremely uneasy and unsafe feeling!

The hotel looked lovely, however we were in a single story trailer looking building behind the hotel, told it was an upgrade. I had requested wheel hair accessible I had one step up into unit that was on a slanted part of the parking lot, and no railing. We managed getting in. Area large and open, bench in shower, no chair at the desk. We are at the onsight restaurant largest bowl of soup I have ever gotten. Breakfast Buffet in morning good.

We were a little disappointed with our experience. We had television problems. The floor was not clean. The tiles were lifting throughout. The glasses were dirty. We had snack & they were short utensils. It really needs an overhaul. On the flipside, the king bed was comfortable & the linens luxurious.

Very nice, well appointed room. One thing that really stood out was the made to order omelette included with the complimentary breakfast.

More than we expected for the price

Was disppointed room was in a separate ground floor building. However, it was a terrific room - large, freshly decorated, big bathroom, and a kitchenette. A short drive to lots of food outlets and a variety of shops. Nice staff, friendly and helpful. .

An aged hotel with modest updating. Been here numerous times over the years. While convenient, the food available at this hotel is sub-par in my opinion. Typical low-budget breakfast buffet and I found the lunch options, soups and sandwiches much the same.

I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the room and the kitchenette. I really was pleased that I could park in front of my room. It made it so easy to unload the car.

Best breakfast we've had included for years. Upon driving up , i had concerns as our room looked more old school motel, but it was totally redone and lovely inside. Everything here is very well cared for

Highlight of our trip and many hotels and inns. This was The Best by far in all ways - hospitality, food, entertainment, luxury room.

Great place with pool and hot tub and they are heated and working. Good breakfast, good restaurant and short drive to other restaurants.

Main Facility and Restaurant both were very well decorated and staffed. Front desk staff, housekeeping staff very efficient and helpful. Speciality egg chef at morning buffet was a nice extra. Centrally located - easy access to all areas for travel or touring.

The room was good; clean and comfortable with everything we required. The staff were great; friendly and courteous. The breakfast selection was varied in a relaxing atmosphere. We have traveled throughout Newfoundland, New Brunswick, P.E.I. and Nova Scotia for 5 weeks. These accommodations were one of the best, if not the best we have encountered. Highly recommended!
