Pricey, but the best place to stay in Gettysburg, Can’t beat the location, on Lincoln Square in the center of town, walkable to all the attractions and best restaurants. Can’t say enough about the friendliness of the staff, from the front desk to the bar. Wide selection of accommodations in (updated) old and modern sections.Plus reputedly has a few ghosts on the premises, Only downside is that hotel doesn’t have its own parking, which means guests have to use expensive — though conveniently adjacent — municipal lot.
Great historical hotel that is updated and very nice. Downtown Gettysburg is a very neat place too. We ate at Lincoln One restaurant that is connected to the hotel. Ate dinner and breakfast and both were wonderful. Great food and service! We only stayed one night but would recommend this hotel for anyone going to Gettyburgs area.
The rooms are in dire need of renovation. I booked a queen suite and the bed was definitely smaller than a queen. The shower was also very old and had mold within the grout. The floor was also uneven in the entryway area of the hotel room. In more pertinent part, our baby fell ill and needed to check out the next day - one day early. The hotel refused to refund me for the night that we were unable to stay despite checking out at 10:30 a.m. - well before the 11 a.m. checkout cutoff. It’s really unfortunate that the hotel decided to keep my money and most likely booked the room for someone else that night. After looking at other reviews today, clearly this is their common practice - book someone else to the room and then refuse to refund someone. I have never experienced an establishment treat someone this way under circumstances in which they were experiencing a family emergency. I will never stay here in the future.
staff was wonderful!!!
Wonderful! Pretty hotel in downtown Historic Gettysburg with multiple shops and restaurants. A wonderful location.
Gorgeous historical hotel and the staff was excellent!
Great place. Perfect location to experience the town. I had a mix up with payment charges to my credit card. Tristan took care of the issue super fast and made sure everything was taking care of properly!!!! Much appreciated. Staff is above and beyond helpful. A . I recommend staying here , any chance you get.
Nice location- in the heart of Gettysburg and walkable to many shops, restaurants, or museums. Unfortunately, checkin is at 4 and most businesses close at 4:30/5. Although a beautiful hotel it is old and the windows let in plenty street noise and chilled weather. In general it’s a nice hotel, clean, convenient.
Had a great time during our stay here. Staff was great. Hotel was wonderful. Easy walking distance to all the shopping and dining in downtown Gettysburg.
Clean and convenient Comfortable beds
No help for elderly in bathroom or seating
Not good~ we requested extra help re: bathroom conveniences for elderly needs, such as raised toilet seat or metal grip bar to help handicapped person get up off seat or out of tub/shower for handicapped, and did not get any assistance
Property is located in a great location.
Beautiful and historic hotel with welcoming and friendly staff. Thank you 😊
No hotel parking, 18$ per day in public parking. If you’re looking for peace this isn’t the place for you. Able to hear the guests above our room and since the hotel is on the Main Street the noise from loud motorcycles and trucks was disturbing.
liked all
Love staying at this hotel. You can walk to almost everything in the town. Lovely room and fantastic shower!
The History of it.
Overall the hotel was really nice and enjoyable and also quiet which is nice and staff was really friendly. The only issues I had was the water didn’t drain properly in the shower and also the AC vents were extremely dirty where my girlfriend was having a hard time with her allergies and didn’t sleep well. And also room service never came to our room even when we had the sign out to have the room cleaned for fresh towels and sheets. Spending over $700 for two nights you would think you would atleast get that, also there was no fridge in the rooms which isn’t the biggest issue but there was some food me and my girlfriend wanted to bring back with us from the restaurants we went too but we could not due to the no fridge aspect. Overall it was a nice hotel and I’d consider coming back.
A beautiful hotel.
Beautiful property, centrally located and walkable to everything.
A great place to stay, clean and quaint. Parking was a little annoying but once parked we could walk everywhere. I would definitely stay again! Restaurant was good. Thought breakfast was very reasonably priced.
If you are going to Gettysburg and want to get up and walk right out of the hotel into the center square, this is for you. Nice bar and restaurant on sight. Lovely rooms and terrific staff.
Great hotel, clean and spacious rooms. Wonderful staff. The only thing we didn’t enjoy was the restaurant. Expensive and the food was of poor quality. Just eat somewhere else. Lots of options!
The hotel was clean and was very convenient to restaurants and shopping!
Awesome
Friendly staff and clean rooms! The hotel is centrally located to restaurants, museums and Gettysburg National Park. Can’t wait to visit again.
Absolutely loved this hotel, felt like something from a movie, boutique, walkable to everything will defiantly be back!
.
Very nice hotel. In the middle of town and able to walk to shopping and dining . Right next to the ghost tour.
Great place to stay! Rooms were clean & very comfortable. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant & bar were excellent!
It was lovely!!! Thank you!!
Great hotel right in center of town. No need for car. Would highly recommend.
Nice area, room very clean, we enjoyed our stay.
Great place to stay right in the heart of town.
Love the location!
No refrigerator. The wood in the window was falling apart
Everything was nice
This makes the fourth time I have stayed at the hotel Gettysburg and Gettysburg Pennsylvania the three times before my stay was absolutely fantastic without any incident whatsoever. This was shaping up to be the same until I requested a late check out upon which I was told they were too busy to accommodate my request.
Location was great and staff was excellent. I like the history and elegance of the hotel.
Lots of history. Great staff.
Great place to stay in Gettysburg!! Hotel is located right on the square, easy walk to stores restaurants and historic sites. Parking is easy too, park in front check in, unload etc. A municipal garage is behind hotel you can park for your stay. Staff was outstanding, friendly and helpful Room very clean and comfortable Highly recommend
No thanks
We enjoyed a two night stay. Our room was spacious. This is a vintage hotel that fits in with historical Gettysburg. Parking garage was right behind hotel. Fee for parking is $18 per day with in and out unlimited. City owns the garage.
Great location and helpful staff. Located right at the main square be ready for the Getty action!
If you want to be treated like royalty this is the place . So helpful? Kind and caring. The staff is great . The rooms were very large and very comfortable.
Overall Review King Room w/ View Of The Square
Overall, the stay was very good. The room was spacious and clean. Great view of the square! I was surprised to find the room did not have a mini fridge. Our room last year did! The bathroom was very clean. The bed…unfortunately VERY UNCOMFORTABLE! I would love to say that after a few nights we’re well rested, but I cannot. We hardly slept! The thermostat was also not functioning properly. I did call the front desk. While no one came to the room, maybe something was fixed behind the scenes? After the first day, the temperature seemed to be controlled. Very friendly staff and bar staff. We enjoyed a few drinks nightly. Prices were different every time, but we figured it all evened out in the end.
Was lovely
Right in the middle of everything. Shopping tours and history. Excellent choice for travelers to Gettysburg
Great place to stay, breakfast was good.
Loved our stay here!
Efficient and helpful
Feel of a historic property...that is what Gettysburg is about, American history...
Really great stay here. Really convenient for local dining and shopping. Rooms are very nice & comfortable. Good public parking (payable separately) at the rear of the hotel. Drive out to the battlefield museum only 5-10 minutes and a self guided auto tour or optional guided tour is of course a must do
Great stay.
A beautiful hotel with an amazing staff. They definitely put their hotel guest first. Located in an area that was walkable to great restaurants and shopping. Our room was clean and comfortable. My only negative is parking was in a garage that was expensive. I wish the hotel would consider validating at least part of the fee.
We had a wonderful stay, everyone was great.
The staff What’s exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms and property were clean. The check-in and checkout process was exceptional.
Clean property, excellent staff and central location.
Lovely hotel. Lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Soccer tournament was that weekend. Too many kids running around totally unsupervised.
It seemed like a historical site. Didn’t like that I didn’t readily see the Starbucks coffee that was promoted for morning. So, missed having it.
We enjoyed our stay
The hotel was right on the circle. All kinds of dining options other than the hotel restaurt. Lots of shops and tours within walking distance. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious and clean. Only thing we wished the room had was a mini fridge. Would recommend!
Great hotel
We had a interesting stay. The staff was real helpful
Nice place, large suite, great locations.
..
A beautiful hotel in the heart of the city.
The staff was great and the location was perfect.
Great location. Warm inviting historic property steps from everything!
Very nice conveniently located hotel
Very nice hotel in the center of town with friendly staff. Able to walk to most places. The entire hotel has been renovated and is lovely.
Beautiful property that is authentic to Gettysburg and the war. Great location!
Clean, modern, very nice, great location, will stay again.
Very cool historic hotel in a great location
Perfect
Beautiful, clean and comfortable facility. The beds were amazing and the rooms were very comfortable and cozy. The staff was so friendly and helpful and accommodating it every way. The restaurant was extremely delicious though a little pricey. But it was close to other areas of dining. We had a wonderful stay.
Historic hotel
We enjoyed being in the middle of town and also easily got to all the Civil War sites. We had a suite so our granddaughter had her own room at night. The beds were comfortable, but we could’ve used a soft pillow.
Very pleasurable experience. Clean, comfortable, surrounded by great restaurants and ice cream shops. Easy biking to all Gettysburg Battlefield sites and museums.
Workers great, problem higher up?
The front desk any time of day was efficient and polite, easily able to point us to local recommendations or get checkin/out processed. Likewise, staff at the restaurant was brilliant- patient with two shy, indecisive kiddos, and monitored drinks and check for maximum efficiency. We loved all the staff we met. For the price-per-night, we have concerns that only one elevator was working our whole stay, and one night both were down, thankfully not the day we were checking out and carrying luggage. Combined with the in-room Keurig type beverage maker not being clean (and running it without a pod produced darkly off-color water full of loose coffee grounds) our suspicions point to higher management not giving staff realistic time per task, or proper repair funding to meet ADA needs, to maintain expectations of the 3-star rating.
Spacious and clean room, convenient location and friendly staff.
Everything was great about the property and room. The bar staff was amazing and so friendly. The only negative thing was that one of the teo elevators was out of order and at the end of the night both were out of order. Up in running in the morning but still a small negative.
Property was nice a had a great location. There was only one working elevator as the other one was down for the two days we were there
This is the first time my husband and I actually stayed at the Hotel Gettysburg during our visits. We were impressed. We stayed in a room on the 6th floor overlooking the square. Great view. During our last night there, we explored the hotel more. it was pretty cool. Seeing the history in photos on the walls throughout the hotel. Just looking the horses and carriages in front of the hotel and then horses and the model T's and the story continues.
Nice
Loved it!
We had a suite which was nice for our large family, but the rooms for the suite are pretty small. We didn’t stay in the room very much at all so it was fine, but it was a bit tight. Would have loved if they had had a continental breakfast.
Perfect location and the staff overall was great.
Perfect location. Pillows were a bit of a disappointment ,but beds were very comfortable. We had a room in the corner so nice and quiet, though I think that made housekeeping forget about us. Came back to the room 2x in the afternoon and room still wasn’t serviced. Called front desk both times just to be sure it would be done before we came back at night for bed. The second call I made at maybe 5:15 answered by a male staff member who clearly wanted me off the phone and just kept saying “absolutely” even though that response made no sense to my questions. But still hoped he’d make sure room was done. 12:30 am came back tired from the day to garbage disposed of…But no towels or beds made. Any mom knows it’s the best thing about staying in a hotel is someone else making the bed! Called front desk again and very sweet apologetic staff member (Melissa?) brought us towels and left a breakfast comp for us. At 11:00 checkout the next morning we arrived as breakfast was just ending, but the restaurant staff allowed us the comp switched to lunch. So even though it was a bit early of a heavier meal the gesture from the hotel/staff was appreciated!
Great location in the Gettysburg square! Wish there was a refrigerator in the room. We had to go to another floor to get ice
Thank you for a great stay !!
Very central location in downtown Gettysburg! Our room on 5th floor was updated, spacious and clean. Vanity space in bathroom is a bit tight. $18 a day for parking seemed steep. Would be nice if they reopened the pool. One of 2 elevators not working caused some extended waits. We would return.
Suite was way too small and outdated. Bathroom very out dated and too small. Bed was hard as a rock.
This was a wonderful stay in Gettysburg. The hotel went above and beyond for us. They accommodate our unique request which was very nice to see.
Perfect hotel to stay at while visiting the park and easy walking around downtown
Overall, my family and I really enjoyed our stay. However, the air conditioning would stop working in the middle of the night, which was quite problematic in the summer heat.
Top notch! Exactly as advertised
It’s Gettysburg College’s hotel - just lovely. The front desk supervisor, Tristan, is fantastic at his job and most hospitable.
Our first time here and we loved it! Everything from the check in to the checkout process was fantastic. We will be back again when we are in the area.
Overall our stay was great! Some issues with the elevator but not a big deal since we were just one floor up. People were friendly.
Hotel was bright, welcoming and had some thoughtful details: a small sundries and snack area with items for purchase (along with complimentary apples), games in the lobby to borrow for play. There were many old photographs of the hotel/building’s history lining some of the first floor walls. Would love to see even more. The two staff members I encountered the evening of my arrival were very knowledgeable and helpful. A man from maintenance quickly came to my room to help me figure out the ac system when I needed to adjust the temperature. The restaurant staff was also very responsive and pleasant. I needed to get two meals to go versus sitting in the restaurant, and they were ready on time. One thing I would have appreciated knowing in advance was that my King room only had one window up near the ceiling looking out at a wall. But I will say, given the architectural issue of that room, the window idea was a good one, but still. The room was large and very comfortable and well maintained with one exception, there were very discernible water or soap stains around the sink handles. Made me wonder how clean the sink area was, tho it’s most likely a hard water stain issue. Also the small bar of hand soap was lovely, but getting your hands to feel rinsed after use was impossible. I thought it might be, again, a hard water issue, but the lobby bathroom soap dissuaded me of that notion. The shower itself was modern, very nice and new. All in all, a very nice stay and I would again.
Ali was exceptional as she greeted us at the front desk: she was helpful as she answered our many questions and she was so pleasant. She was so easy to talk and laugh with while she was also very professional. The atmosphere outside and inside the hotel was beautiful and clean. The room was great in all ways and the beds were so comfortable. We had a great stay!
Good value
Great location. Very friendly staff. Very clean.
Delightful
