Although the area is far from the major attactions in Wien, I stayed here because of its proximity to the VIB, since I have to take the bus to Bratislava early the next day. The lady in the front desk was so nice. I originally asked for only one night double room and single night for the second night. But she allowed me to stay in the double room for two nights. I really appreciate the flexibility and consideration. Breakfast was great (although I missed the first one since I have to leave very early one morning). I hope they would consider having special early breakfast for some guests. Overall I recommend this place to anyone, especially family and friends who may want to stay in Vienna.

Great place to stay

Great hotel to stay at if you are wanting to explore Vienna. Walking distance to all types of public transport and located next to a series of supermarkets and restaurants. The staff at the front desk are awesome and willing to help you if you need anything. The breakfast was brilliant. They even make you a breakfast pack if you have to be at the airport really early. Will definitely stay here again.

If your looking for a clean, decent place with pretty helpful staff, to just lay your head, this place will work for you. If you're looking for a place to lay back in your room and enjoy the hotel itself, this is probably not the place.

Lovely little hotel. Great location, alot i either walkable or a short ride in the public transport. Staff was very nice and helpfull, if i come back to vienna i will definitely return here!

Gabriel Hotel, Vienna

Nice budget hotel, breakfast was excellent. The shower in the room is very small amd the bed mattresses are not comfortable at all. Overall a okay place to stay if you looking for a budget hotel. Tram stop is nearby and restaurants.

Very polite and helpful staff. Cleaning wise okay. Just not comfurtable matters and also in pictures they showed 4 beds actually we have got 2 sofa combed which were not comfortable at all. In the breakfast they dont care about vegetarian option and contamination. Which we were not happy about

Room and bathroom was clean although extremely outdated No amenities in room such as coffee. Property is outdated, no key card scanner for rooms, regular key on extremely heavy and large key ring, you could knock a person out with this thing. We were asked to leave the key at the desk if we went out which left us uncomfortable since our belongings were in room and safe was functioning. Rooms not how the appear in photos.

A recommended hotel in Vienna.

The location is convenient and close to public transportation. There is private parking for a fee, there is an elevator in the building, the room is comfortable and clean and breakfast is definitely sufficient. The hotel staff is pleasant and helpful and the reception and departure process is convenient and easy.

Stay away

Let's start with the positive, because that's short: the garden. Except this I can't find anything good. The room was super small, the bathroom even smaller, the shower is for dwarfs. No chance you could turn around inside, and I'm quite slim. Pillow? One, small and thin. Cover? Only a blanket because it is summer? No a/c, but it has a ventilator. If you want to use it, there's only one power plug, which means you can't charge your phone at the same time, which would be annoying, but don't worry, the WiFi Internet doesn't work as well, so you might not need it. When I complained at the reception he looked at me and said, and only told me that this is an external problem. No call to the provider, nothing. He let me understand that this happens often, so no use. The breakfast had a rather bigger choice, but then again, when you find the egg shells of the previous user on your plate, you might not want eat too much.

The description said the hotel had an airport shuttle and WiFi. They did not have an airport shuttle and the WiFi did not work

A must in Vienna

Getting to the hotel from the central station was a breeze. Lookout for the name as the sign outside only says Hotel Gabriel though. Staff wrote us before arriving to make sure things were fine and throughout our stay they were very kind! The buffet breakfast was great with a good variety of options to choose from, the eggs were delicious. You also have the option to have your breakfast outside at the garden, thus the hotel name ;) As for the facility, there's an elevator to help you get upstairs and your room will be a nice, quiet and clean room. Moving around from and to the hotel was easy enough and the neighborhood is great, we felt safe at all times. Definitely you will have a great time if you decide to stay in this hotel.

Extremely convenient and friendly hotel

The only remark I can make on partially negative note is bed. We were travelling with wife and got two single beds moved together. Mattresses and pillows were not very comfortable either. This was not big deal for us but may be issue for more sensitive people. Everything else starting with the greeting and welcoming, amenities, location, transportation convenience, etc. is at the greatest level.

Nice Hotel

I thought this was a nice place for the price. The breakfast is not really all that good, as the scrambled eggs are way under cooked. Nobody like runny scrambled eggs. There were a lot of bread options, lots of useless carbs. The staff was very helpful, the place was clean. The pillows were horrible, need to have a couple more on the bed. The location is 10 minute walk from the metro line. I would stay here again, but the breakfast is not that good. Wifi was strong and reliable.

Nice hotel situated only a few metres away from tram stop. Clean and comfortable. Lots of restaurants, shops and supermarkets nearby. City Centre easily accessible.

Nice hotel near City centre

We had a pleasant stay at Garten Gabriel, Rooms were decent size and clean. The hotel is in a great location not far from city centre only a metro away which is 5 min walk round the corner or hop on a Tram with a stop 1 min away from Hotel. Breakfast was nice, but would've been nicer with more variety in terms of Pastries. Staff are very helpful with all queries from food places to directions. 24-48hr Pass is definitely worth it can use on Metro, Tram and bus.

Reasonable hotel with a good price

Very nice garden for the breakfast, Location is convinient, as it is straight down the same street as a hotel is. Bed is confirtable and room has space. The staff was helpful and even greeted us eith a bottle of wine.

Ok hotel for a motorized tourists

Clean hotel, little outside of the city centre but convient to reach by car. Initially got room which was not ready but it was promptly corrected.

Short and sweet

Passing through Vienna and needed a place to stay. Located near the VIB station. Breakfast was included but had to leave before they started to serve. The staff was very kind and give me a hefty amount of food to take along. Good effort on their part.

Good hotel place near a subway station. Clean and warm room. We had breakfast also that was good. Only downside was the reception staff that was little bit cheecky and rude.

Nowhere to be!

If you can take the hard bed in a quarter of Vienna with little amenity, it is good value and has a good breakfast. There was no shared facilities in the hotel, other than a few uncomfortable chairs in reception. Nowhere to be! Spring has arrived, yet the garden, tables and chairs need attention tidying and cleaning.

Rude and unprofessional treatment of the staff

I paid for a single room with one king bed but they gave me a room with 2 small beds. I went to the reception the next day in the morning letting him to know that I had paid extra 5 Euros for the kind bed. I asked them to find out with you (Expedia) what had happaned I never asked the hotel to reimburse me the extra 2X5 (10 Euros) that I had paid. I did not know what happned and that is why I never blamed to the hotel, but there was a mistake somewhere and it was necessary to find out. Then I when I went back to the hotel in the afternoon there was another man in the reception (plus the man in the morning) and both of them instead of listening me of what was my request repeteaed more than 10 times saying the following} a. It is impossible because we do not have this type of rooms b. The another man said that he checked Expedia and he could not find the option of the king size bed. This is not true because later I checked and Expedia still was showing the king size bed. c. We cannot give you the money back (I never asked this) d. You are in one of the best rooms of the hotel e. You must find out with expedia, this is your problem not of the hotel In summary they were very rude and they ofended because with their answer they called me a lier that I was telling them a false history and that is unnaceptable. Besides, they did not try at all to find out with Expedia what happened they continue repeating the same and saying that it is I who shoud find out where the problem wa

For the price the hotel is ok, but as it has no air condition it would be VERY recommendable to put a net on the windows as we could not open the windows without getting dozens of bugs inside the room...we could not sleep the whole night...it is a pity!

Family holiday

Good location for the city

Quiet place close to downtown

This place was a pleasant surprise. We were looking for a not too pricey one night stay close to downtown before flying out from Vienna the next day. Nice front desk area, helpful staff, clean and comfortable room, bathroom and shower area looked new. No A/C in our rooms though.

Rest stop in Vienna

The location isn't as central as you think it is , walking distance to any touristy locations or landmarks of any kind is not encouraging , the distance to the metro line and a decent bus route also leaves this location a bit dry, especially the long walk home after a tiring day of sight seeing or conference seminars. The service truly does make up a great deal, every person is nice and willing to share in your experience and will ask you which mountain they should move for your request to happen. The service and cleanliness almost makes me leave out the fact that I sustained heavy itchiness After my first night and I still don't know if it's due to Mosquitos or fleas , and the curtains still let in the fair share of sun which made me barricade the ends of the curtains with the side tables and desk chairs in the room by the 3rd night. All in all its a good place and its location isn't perfect but I found it helpful and safe.

Close and Comfortable

The hotel staff were accommodating and happy to answer questions such as directions to the city centre and cheapest route. The room was wellkept with the toilet separate from the shower as well as fruit provided to snack on. The bed was comfortable and internet was easy to use. It was in a quiet part of town but not once did i feel uncomfortable with my surroundings

NIce stay with very good breakfast away from crowd

Overall it was good. The hotel was a bit far from the main centre of attraction though well connected. The breakfast was really awesome and worth.

Pleasant stay at Gabriel Hotel

We were there for three nights. The room was quiet, OK size, and nice. The mattresses could do with a change. The breakfast was sumptuous. The single staff member at the reception was very helpful to guide for bus, tram and all routes as well as for whatever little help required.

This proved to be a very good choice, in a location close to Vienna's excellent transportation system.

I drove a lot and I needed to rest. (It was past midnight). We found this hotel, I slept and I slept very well. In the morning we ate well (good food).That was what I expected from this hotel and it was just like that.

Cute little hotel

We have found it even without GPS! Parked our car inside court yard and used buses,metro and taxis. Breakfast excellent,lots of choices and very friendly staff. Beds are little bit tough with thin mattresses (standard in Europe) We had great time and I am pretty sure we will be going to Vienna again.

Hotel que se encuentra en una zona muy comunicada y no muy lejos en tranvia de la zona centro de Viena. Personal muy amable. La única pega quizá es que la zona de desayuno al no ser muy grande cuando hay mucha gente se hace un poco agobiante pero por todo lo demás perfecto.

Literie pas très confortable et les oreillers supplémentaires étaient vieux et pas très propres. La douche fuyait sur le coté et il y avait des toiles d’araignées au niveau du lustre. Sinon le personnel est très aimable et serviable.

Me aloje por una noche. Las habitaciones no son insonoras por lo tanto se escucha las conversaciones de las habitaciones lindantes y los pasos o movimientos de las habitaciones de arriba. Por la noche mucho ruido de puertas abriéndose y cerrándose. El desayuno estuvo bien pero poca variedad de opciones para elegir. El personal muy amable y con buena predisposición.

Hôtel bien situé, Les personnels gentils et accueillant. Bon petit déjeuner assez copieux.

Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Wir hatten unseren Zimmer im Erdgeschoss, neben Speisesaal, war extrem laut. Das Zimmer / Bettwäsche war sauber aber das Badezimmer leider nicht, überall Haaren, schmutzig….

Wir haben dort eine Nacht verbracht. Hotel absolut in Ordnung;ordentlich und sauber. Schönes Frühstücksbuffet - gerne wieder.

Auf den Bildern sieht das Hotel schöner aus, als in echt. Es ist alt und ok, wenn man sich nur zum übernachten dort aufhält. Frühstücksbuffet sehr dürftig. Da wir in Wien waren, als es sehr heiss war, jedoch kein richtig angeschlossenes Klimagerät oder einen funktionierenden Ventilator, war auch das Schlafen nicht erholsam.

Det er et ældre hotel hvor badeværelset er blevet renoveret på et tidspunkt med en dejlig stor bruser. Det var dog med en meget slidt skydedør ud til toilelettet. På værelset var det blevet stillet et lille køleskab nede gulvet lidt tilfældigt på værelset sammen med en ventilator hvilket er dejligt på en varm sommerdag. Morgenmaden var fin med et stort udvalg og det var dejligt at kunne indtage den i den store gårdhave og selv om der var mange mennesker blev der løbende fyldt op. Alt i alt et godt hotel til prisen.

Dies ist ein altes Hotel, aber es ist sehr, sehr sauber. Wir haben ein schönes Zimmer mit sehr sauberer Bettwäsche bekommen. Sie haben unseren Wunsch bezüglich des Zimmers erfüllt, da meine Frau gegen Milben und Staub allergisch ist. Ich muss das Personal an der Rezeption loben, sehr, sehr freundlich! Anständiges Frühstück! Das Hotel ist auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen!

El desayuno es muy completo, no está tan cerca del centro pero hay transporte, nuestra habitación estaba sucia cuando llegamos tenia un mini refri y nos dieron otra y estaba limpia pero en el buró lleno de basura del anterior huésped y no tenia refri
