Friendly helpful staff always cheerful.

Fabulous location right in the heart of the old town. The rooms are spacious & super clean, with helpful, friendly staff. We loved our stay & will be back!

FIRST day in Rethymno

We rented a car to travel in Rethymno and we were looking for something in the centre of the town, with car parking area and breakfast. We arrived very late at night and we were very welcomed at the reception of Fortezza Hotel and our room with the view of the hotel swimming pool and the garden was wonderful. Breakfast was great and all the staff so helpful and very nice. Next time we will definitely stay longer there.

Centrally located and walking distance to everything. Super markets across the street. Long walk to unpaid parking. Breakfast average.

Perfect location. In the heart of the historic town but quiet. Very friendly, helpful staff. Nice balconies overlooking the pool.

Location is amazing! Our room was clean and spacious. The pool and breakfast were also great. Wifi in our room was slow, but it seemed better in others parts of the hotel.

Week st The Fortezza

Came for wedding at the Fort. It was an enjoyable week. The Fortezza Hotel was a good choice. Loved it. Service help extremely nice and friendly. The hotel was spacious clean and close to everything.

Not an extravagant hotel but clean and friendly with a great location - excellent value for money

Great stay

Great location, spacious room and bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast had nice variety to it, you can get breakfast packed to go if leaving hotel before assigned breakfast time.

Accommodating staff

Mostly good.

The room was ok, but rather expensive. Our balcony was so tiny we had to take turns! This was a real disappointment. The breakfast was good but the coffee (from a machine) was awful. Why don't Greek hotels offer Greek coffee? I appreciated the provision of a small fridge but it was fairly useless as the electricity was off while we were out of the room so nothing got cold.

Lovely hotel right in the heart of Old Town but away from the bars. Parking was a challenge but worth the effort.

Good hotel

Nice hotel and staff. Everything in the room is more than adequate but not outstanding. A kettle would be nice. Breakfast good and plenty. Communal areas including pool are lovely. Position of hotel on edge of old town so very convenient.

Lovely hotel, comfortable, clean and recently updated bathroom, efficient air conditioning, good wireless connection, friendly staff, good breakfast buffet, lovely looking pool area (we didn't get a chance to use it but it looked like it would have been great, if we had had time), close to the main tourist attractions (the old town, the fortress, etc). Parking available for 9€ at the time of this review.

Visually pleasing but not great

Front desk moved us to a small room after having the large room I paid for on Expedia. The large room had no air conditioning and the staff kept saying it did. Third staff person agreed it had not worked in this room in weeks and moved us to a smaller room with a working air conditioner. Unusual to be downgraded after two days being inconvenienced. Honestly is important.

Fortezza Hotel - convenient location

Fortezza Hotel - convenient location and great pool/pool area. Staff were friendly/helpful, kindly arranged a nearby doctors appt for me.

Found the hotel lacked atmosphere and the staff gave the appearance of be de-motivated

Close to all the shops and restaurants

Very clean hotel with friendly service. This was a great location with a super market across the street!

Great position for Old Town and Harbour

The room could have been slightly larger but otherwise the stay was great. Reception and staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay, very pleasant pool and facilities. Adjacent three excellent restaurants and only 3 minutes walk from the harbour and the beach. Fortress just 2 minutes away. Lovely place would love to go back.

In old town

Quiet location if you have a room overlooking the pool. Pool not heated. No shower curtain so showering difficult. Buffet breakfast OK. On some days, tables not laid and some of trays of food not topped up. Close to lots of good eateries and shops

It’s a good hotel

Basic hotel. Great location

Room old fashioned. No safety in the room. Not enough deck chairs around pool. Pool is too crowded.

Sehr Gut

Fijn hotel met zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Nette kamers en badkamer. Kamers aan de straatzijde hebben wel wat overlast van het verkeer en luidruchtige personen maar door onze vermoeidheid niet echt een probleem geweest bij het slapen.

Agréable séjour

Hotel très agréable par sa localisation et ses magnifiques éléments architectureaux, chambre spacieuse avec joli blacon sur rue, mais tout à fait tranquille.

nice hotel, perfect location, friendly staff

hotel located near the fortezza sight, friendly staff and quick checkin. possibility to park the car 5 min away at a free parking at the and of the street. Room in the first floor was not that big and without balcony but clean and enough for us. Clientele consists mostly of elder people.

Bien placé

Pratique et bien situé, par contre l'hôtel ne dispose d'aucune place de parking, il faut se garer dans la rue au risque de se faire abîmer la voiture, où se garer sur un parking payant en face de l'hôtel pour 10 € par jour, pour le petit-déj' rien d'extraordinaire mais suffisant.

Vi havde et dejligt ophold på dette hotel, vores eneste kritik er en meget uvenlig person i receptionen, ved ud chekningen.

Flott beliggenhet i gamlebyen

Har bodd flere ganger på Fortezza. Hotellet har fin beliggenhet i gamlebyen, ca. 10-15 min gange til stranden. Hotellet passer kanskje best for voksne uten (små) barn. Store rom, gode senger. Varierende størrelse på balkong, noen veldig små. Frokosten oppleves som litt kjedelig, her er det forbedringspotensiale.

Decline in room standard

Third visit in three years. The room standard has declined for each visit although the price has been almost the same. First visit we got a two bedroom suite with nice balcony towards calm pool area. Second visit only one small room with extra bed - camping style but still with a balcony towards the pool area. This visit a little bit larger room with full size extra bed but no balcony towards the pool area. Only a larger window towards a smaller but pretty busy street.

Flott hotell med fantastisk personale. Litt trangt og vanskelig å ankomme med leigebil. Kostbar parkering.

Hôtel situe au centre ville, idéal pour une étape pour visiter Rethymnon (on peut tout faire à pieds) bon petit déjeuner .

Excellent séjour. Petit hôtel très bien tenu et très propre. À un coin de rue de la forteresse. Service de voiturier: EXCELLENT.

Bon hôtel, bien situé.

Le hall de l'hôtel est spacieux et a beaucoup de cachet (meubles anciens, poutres apparentes...). Le personnel est sympa. L'hôtel est bien situé, à 2 pas de la magnifique forteresse de Rethymnon. Les chambres sont propres et les lits sont confortables.

Moderne hotell midt i gamle Rethymnon. Svømmebasseng og solsenger i bakgården. Mange gode restauranter og shopping rett rundt hjørnet. Ca 15 minutters gange til en fantastisk strand. God standard på rommene, og en frokost som var helt grei, med brødmat, egg, juice, kaffe og selvfølgelig den greske yoghurten med honning. Vi kommer tilbake!

旧市街の中にあって、どこへ行くにも便利です。またスタッフの方はとてもいい感じです。ただ、「泊まるだけ」なら問題無いと思いますが、海の近くでゆっくりしたいというなら、ほかのホテルを選ばれたほうがいいでしょう。部屋の眺望などは全然望めません。（道路とか）スタッフの方がとても良心的だなと思いました。リーズナブルに便利のいい場所に泊まりたい方にはおすすめです。部屋は広いです。バスタブもあります。

Mysigt hotel o trevlig personal

Allt fungerade jättebra. Lugnt område i gamla delen av Rethymnon,med bara ett stenkast ifrån restauranger o mysiga gränder.Ca tio min promenad till den härliga stranden.Det enda negativa med rummet var dess hårda sängar o vi hade i alla fall ett superium rum.Åker vi hit igen vilket vi gärna gör,så blir det definitivt Fortezza Hotel.

Gutes Hotel in der Altstadt

Die Lage ist gut. Leider bekommt man als Alleinreisender - wie so oft - die schlechtesten Zimmer, obwohl man mehr zahlt. Der Ausblick auf die doch viel befahrene Strasse war sehr negativ. Das Frühstück war sehr gut.

Perfect location

Fantastic hotel in a perfect location. Fourth visit to Creta and second visit with a night stay in Rethymnon. Very easy to find your way to the hotel with a rental car. And with a 24h parking right outside the hotel it can not be easier. You are almost in the heart of the old town with all the nice restaurants ans cafes just around the corner from the hotel.

mycket fint mysigt litet familjärt hotell, väldigt trevlig och snäll personal, hjälpsamma! god frukost. Det enda som kunde varit något bättre var att sängarna var något hårda och att det inte fanns så mycket plats runt poolen för att sola, annars helt perfekt! bra läge. restauranter precis runt hörnet och 15 minuters promenad till stranden :)

ενα πολυ καλο ξενοδοχειο σε λογικη τιμη . Η διαμονη μου ηταν πολυ καλη . Το δωματιο καθαρο, το προσωπικο πολυ φιλικο και το πρωινο πλουσιο σχετικα .Πραγματικα θα συνιστουσα αυτο το ξενοδοχειο σε οποιον θελει να περασει ρομαντικες και ησυχες διακοπες . Το μονο που με χαλασε λιγο ηταν η θεα , αλλα νομιζω οτι η περιοχη στην οποια βρισκεται εχει μια ρομαντικη αισθηση ομορφιας , γιατι βρισκεται στην παλια πολη του ρεθυμνου οπου εκει η θεα ειναι μοναδικη . Με μια λεξη , το ξενοδοχειο fortezza πλησιαζει το τελειο , συμφωνα με αυτα τα οποια ειδα και εζησα .

Ottimo hotel al centro di Rethymno

La posizione è ottimale e ben segnalata all'arrivo a Rethymno, il personale è stato sempre cortese e pronto a fornire consigli ed indicazioni, non da ultimo la presenza del parcheggio vicino all'hotel e di un supermercato di fronte all'hotel hanno agevolato la nostra permanenza.
