Not good for families with young children. No fridge neither microwave.

Room was bad

I was charged for breakfast and city tax was higher also the room was not accessible via lifts. Please phone before attending

Hotel is close to shops. Spacious, clean room with comfortable bed. Loved the under floor heating. Just really missed having a kettle for morning tea.

Good hotel would stay again

Stayed for one night whilst going to the football match as part of a longer trip. Hotel is in a good location staff were friendly, room was clean so no complaints

We loved our stay. Everything was great. The only missing point is there in no kettle or tea in the room.

Good location for visiting Efteling.

We stopped off here as a night before Efteling stay. Room, particularly bathroom is very dated with very soft beds but was fine for what we needed.

Shouldnt be classed as a 4 star hotel.

This was disappointing for a 4 star hotel. The place was very dated and although the rooms were a good size. It felt very drab and depressing. There were no tea/coffee making facilties, no fridge, no hairdryers, no air con. The TV was very small for the size of the room.

Outdated room

Staff was OK but room is outdated.

Where do we start.. this hotel is awful. This should be regraded as it’s clearly not 4 Stars. The room was dirty, dead flies and bugs, clearly not clean & not accessible by lift. The room was located by a fire escape, it seems those rooms are rarely used. Hotel is very dated. We stayed there for a total of 12 minutes and that was more than enough time. We took our kids and left. Beware!!! This hotel will make you never want to visit the Netherlands again!!!

This is a hotel very close (less then 10 minutes drive) to the Efteling park, that’s why we chose it. We had a family room of four. The room and the bathroom were spacious, however the furniture and overall look and feel was very old and outdated; there was no soap, shampoo or any other toiletries in the bathroom, no kettle in the room. The breakfast was ok, without any variety, the staff were friendly, however since the hotel and especially the restaurant were apparently out-staffed, the service was very slow.

Family room for 5. Very dated including beige/brown bathroom suite. Air con unit but poor access to sockets and a hose that doesn't stay in (ripped and tatty). Breakfasts unaffordable for family of 4 at 17.50 each, so didnt have. Their is an Albert Heijn a short drive away so go there for pastries. Tiny vending machine and a pool table you cant have the balls for in the evening as its 'close to rooms'. Didnt see any nearby. Ripoff prices as it is close to Efteling and take families for granted. Nothing like the photos on expedia.

Room was good size but felt dated and in need of modernisation. Communal areas were nice and felt more up to date. Breakfast was good with wide selection

Enjoyed the stay

Really nice experience.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this comfy hotel. My only real complaint was the parking lot stayed full so we had to get creative to avoid walking over a block from the alternative free parking. Otherwise, this hotel was fine for a night.

Hotel looks very nice in the pictures, although it is very old and dated - No Tea/Coffee facilities - Beds were not very comfortable. I wouldnt stay here again for the price they charge for this room.

Great restaurant, hotel in urgent need of updating

Hotel terrible, beds extremely uncomfortable. Rooms are damp and feel unkept. Needs renovation urgently! Food in restaurant was great!

Wouldn't recommend - Poor value

Sadly a poor dated hotel, lacks on the general basics, no tea/coffee facilities, not even a bottle of water, was charged 4 euro for a bottle, no hairdryer. Service in bar/restaurant was very slow, hardly any staff. I wouldn't recommend , more so that the night prior i stayed in another hotel in Eindhoven, it was same price per night but top class compared to this one!! Location not great either.

The room was uncomfortably hot, the radiator was off, I opened the window fully (so then had street noise), put the fan on and took the thin duvet out of the cover. It would not cool down, it’s as if heat was coming from the floor. By about 5am and no sleep the temperature dropped enough to make it bearable. I arrived late the night before and the restaurant had shut early, there was no where to get a drink. Do not waste your money on breakfast!! I had a piece of brown break and half a cooked tomato. They do not do anything for vegans, if I’d known that I’d have saved myself €12! Worst hotel breakfast ever.

Nice hotel. Lovely bar and restaurant on site and the whole foyer is really nice looking. Stayed on first floor and the hallways and rooms were a little dated. Beds where comfortable and clean but lots of dust underneath and in places around the room

Comfortable overnighter on a cycle tour.

We paid for a superior room, large, airy and with a little enclosed courtyard. Our bikes were in an undercover locked bike storage area and the hotel has a restaurant. A good place for a one night stop on our cycle tour, especially on a wet day.

We booked a 4 bed-room. When we got there they said: 2nd floor with the elevator at the end of the corridor there is a passage, 2 times we went up and down the room was not there. The 3rdtime the receptionist went up with me and then we discovered why we couldn't find it. At the end of the corridor, through a door , down the stairs, short passage up stairs again, and there it was... easy... They didn't ask if we want to climb or not, they tried even to make it look like it was normal. they tried 2 times to argue wether we paid for breakfast and taxes or not. Luckily I had my Hotels detailed reservation with me to show it... but next morning on check out, another woman asked again to pay... The reception has to check itself for efficiency

This was my first trip away from the UK and the staff here were very helpful with information about the local area aswell as just being friendly overall. Great experience and would stay here again.

Incredibly helpful staff who accommodated me when I arrived hours early. Rooms are super clean and well appointed. Great breakfast and the restaurant serves good food in the evening

Great hotel and suitable for our needs. A little disappointing that the hotel restaurant wouldn’t serve us when we got back after competing all day at a sporting event, so we ended up ordering pizza and the restaurant would not let us eat it outside on the hotel tables despite (not serving us) which was a shame as we were buying drinks and sitting as a large group outside. We ended up eating pizza on the grass outside 5 paces away from the tables which seemed a little bit silly considering all 14 of us were hotel guests and spending money in the bar anyway. But if that’s the hotel policy then that’s the policy ... just a shame! Apart from that we can’t fault the service. The bathrooms need some sort of ventilation and the shower was leaking all over the bathroom floor because the shower rail wasn’t sealed in room 140 but we just used all of the towels to sort out the leak and got on with it! Minor points... overall the whole experience was great :)

The room was spacious. Breakfast was reasonable once they found my reservation for food had been paid. Said there had been computer issues. Didn’t like the fact that I left a new Hugo boss top, and despite several calls, and being told each time they would look and call back.... we received no call!

Front desk didn’t understand I had 3 night stay, called and asked why I haven’t left after first night. A little bit noisy here, could hear people in adjoining room. Not a bad place, though.

Great location

Good hotel with ample parking. The staff were excellent and very helpful. The only downside was that the restaurant and bar were not always open in the evening.

Nice big rooms, easy walk to the Main Street, beautiful quiet location, only complaint was the bed was badly sagging in the middle (2 x twins pushed together) will definitely stay again.

Overnight stay for business. Was very impressed with service and overall niceness of this hotel. Tucked away in a neighborhood, it is nicely appointed and nicely run. Love the local artwork displayed throughout. Well done !

Good location, dated facilities

Good, secure, free car park right on the property was a big plus. The reception staff were nice and friendly plus spoke good English. A bit disappointed didn't get told that doors shut at midnight (it did have a sign by the door but you didn't see that till after midnight when you arrived back late). Room was okay size, as was bathroom, but very outdated, no air con or fan so the room was stuffy. The shower wets everything on the floor around the toilet and basin, and has weak pressure. Tea/coffee making facility good but didn't find it till morning as was tucked away in a cupboard. Good wifi, comfy bed.

Very quiet

Really quiet hotel. Very friendly and comfortable. Room was huge but dark. We had a meal in the restaurant, it was ok but nothing special. The service was friendly but the food took an age to come which as we appeared to be the only customers eating was disappointing. On the whole, we would use it again for Efteling but wouldn't eat.

A great hotel. Rooms are clean and are **** standard. Good breakfast with a small but good selection hot and cold food. Would recommend.

single evening stay

stayed for only one evening whilst working on a game installation at a local Theme park. The hotel exceeded my expectations as the price was quiet reasonable. The hotel had a friendly atmosphere with a good breakfast selection. It is a good price option if considering a visit to the Efteling theme park and a very short stroll to some good local restaurants and bars. If you want a very quiet night out then Monday night is best because the whole town center is shut other than the local Chinese which i enjoyed.

Nice quiet room with great ammenities

I loved my stay at the Hotel Waalwijk! The room was comfortable and the restaurant and breakfast were wonderful..What more could one ask?

Great value, Friendly staff, Good food

My main needs for business travel are a comfortable bed, a quiet room and a good shower. Hotel Waalwijk had all of these and more. I would recommend this hotel and would certainly stay there again. While I'm not really bothered about breakfast, this too was very good.

Geen fijn hotel! Niks extra’s. Geen koffie/waterkoker op kamer. Amper zeep in zeepdispensers badkamer. Verouderd hotel. Betalen voor alles wat je zou willen doen. Bijvoorbeeld potje poolen. Zeer zwaar dichtvallende deuren, dus enorme herrie op gang.

Diner was matig, niet echt warm. Zorg van personeel was ook voor verbetering vatbaar, geen interesse vanuit personeel. Overnachting was ok.

Goede locatie, lekker dicht bij de Efteling en centrum de Els. Kamers erg gehorig, badkamer met schimmelranden en erg basic. Had voor mijn prijs (en hoe het leek op de foto’s) “mooier” verwacht. Maar goed, mijn kids hebben geslapen. Een volgende keer zou ik voor de comfort gaan, al weet ik niet of die veel beter is. Enige verlichting bij de parkeerplaats, zou fijn zijn. Was nu alleen een pikkedonker gat. Voelt onveilig

Heel de kamer zat vol met schimmel. Deze kamer mag jiet meer verhuurd worden. Echt vreselijk

Goede bedden, voor de rest heel erg verouderd. Badkamer in terra roze stijl. Ramen lijken nog enkel glas en er kwam ook veel kou vandaan. Ok voor een nachtje, maar ik zal de volgende keer voor een ander hotel kiezen.

Klantvriendelijk, maar gebrekkig gebouw

De vloerverwarming stond volledig aan en kon niet aangepast worden. Het was in de kamer vreselijk warm en onaangenaam. Alleen door het raam helemaal open te doen was het dragelijk. Maar het was rond het nulpunt buiten. Dus ook niet fijn. Lekkende kranen in de douche.

Fijn dat wij hier met drie kinderen een kamer konden boeken. Jammer dat in de kamer gerookt was en enorm stonk. De receptie heeft dit goed opgelost. De andere kamer was wat slecht onderhouden maar prima voor ons ene nachtje

Kamer is simpel, verwacht er niet te veel van.

Douche was verouderd met een lekkende kraan en schimmel langs het plafond en in de kitranden. Ook een klein douchegordijntje (douchen in bad). Er zaten vlekken in het tapijt. En de ramen leken wel van enkel glas (de kachel stond op 5 te loeien, dus het was er niet erg koud.

- krappe en weinig parkeergelegenheid - verouderd gebouw, vloerbedekking en badkamer - zelfs de comfort/vernieuwde kamer is nog verouderd - benauwd in kamer en geen mogelijkheid tot verlagen of uitzetten vloerverwarming, raam hele nacht open ook niet prettig ivm platje waar op geklommen kan worden - kamer aan drukke weg: lawaaierig - een waterkoker met beker en thee zou een aanwinst zijn (ipv. de reclame voor merchandise als kussens, toiletartikelen e.d.)

Hotel is hard aan en renovatie toe

Staat is erg vervallen, gaten in de muur, schimmel, verstopt doucheputje, tapijt vol vlekken en muffe geur. Restaurant was wel keurig deze is pas gerenoveerde.

Locatie was voor mij de reden maar het hotel is achterstallig in onderhoud en mijn badkamer was niet schoon

Kamer geboekt met voor 4p. Kregen 1 tweepersoons bed. En 1 uitklap bank. Deze uitklap bank was zonder matras. Je lag op de grond. Daarnaast zaten er bruine vlekken in het beddengoed. Badkamer was ook niet de meest schone met alle kalk. Personeel was niet vriendelijk en vond roken belangrijker. Klachten over de kamer nemen ze niet sirieus. Nooit meer voor ons.

- sehr heruntergekommener Zustand - teils funktionierte das Licht nicht - Dusche nahezu ohne Funktion - Betten durchgelegen - Horrende Lautstärke, noch teils nach 03:00 Uhr nachts - keine Klimaanlage Wenigstens der Check-in Mitarbeiter war nett, konnte aber auch nicht helfen!

Near to efteling but a little bit old structure. Moquette in room is not so good, windows a little bit dirty.

Voor een 4 sterren hotel ontbrak het toch aan somige zaken , zoals haardroger in de badkamer, geen koffie faciliteiten op de kamer en ook geen kleine frigo, ik zou toch airco verwachten maar er stond alleen een kleine ventilator

Les seul bémols, le parking plein à notre arrivée, mais nous sommes arrivés très tard. Et l’insonorisation n’est pas au top (voisin bruyant) Un service excellent très accueillant, Une suite magnifique. Un personnel au top. Nous sommes ravis de notre séjour et reviendrons pour sûr lors de notre prochaine visite à Efteling!

de kamers waren ontzettend heet, veel te warm om te slapen, met 1 ventilator maar dat koelde niet. Daarnaast was er niets in de kamers, geen thee of koffie, geen badspullen, alleen in de douche een fles zeep, maar bij de wastafels niets. Heel minimaal allemaal.

De familiekamer is ruim opgezet en heeft heel fijn een bad. De kamer heeft 2 bedden die niet lekker liggen. Het was vooral heel erg warm in de kamer, het lijkt alsof er geen ventilatie aanwezig is. We hadden het raam open maar aangezien onder en vlakbij het raam een klein terrasje is, kwam er veel rooklucht binnen. Niet heel fijn met 2 kinderen in de kamer! Dus slecht geslapen dus slecht ventilatie en rooklucht: jammer!

Übernachtung ok. Bad, Dusche und Sauberkeit im Bad unterdurchschnittlich. Frühstück gut!

- Rezeption bei der Begrüßung wirkte, als hätte er keine Lust zu arbeiten - extreme Lautstärke durch andere Gäste. Allerdings wurde dort ab 22:30 Uhr durch die Mitarbeiter durchgegriffen. Aber ohne Ohropax ist Schlaf eher wenig - Rezeptionistin am Anreisetag dafür sehr nett - Badezimmer sehr groß und komfortabel - Betten an sich sehr bequem

Gutes Hotel für einen Aufenthalt in der Nähe des Efteling

Vieze kamer met overal vlekken op de vloer. De kamer was veel te warm waardoor we slecht hebben geslapen. Ontbijt was top met vriendelijk personeel.

Ein- und auschecken ging recht unkompliziert. Parkplätze direkt an der Unterkunft. Wir hatten ein Apartment für vier Personen. Gross und geräumig, sodass ausreichend Platz für alle war. Das Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber insgesamt macht es einen guten Eindruck. Für ein Wochenende total gut und zu empfehlen.

Goede ligging nabij het centrum van Waalwijk en prima uitvalsbasis voor een bezoek aan de Efteling. De kamers zijn gedateerd, hing een penetrante rookgeur en vlekken in de vloerbedekking. Bloedheet op de kamer, slecht geslapen. Zeer gehorig, deuren die dichtknallen en geloop op de gang goed te horen. Personeel was vriendelijk maar laks. Lopen je meerdere keren voorbij in het restaurant maar besteden geen aandacht aan je lege bord of glas. Jammer!

108 euro betaald voor 2 dagen ontbijt bij check in en bij check uit moest ik weer betalen voor t ontbijt niet gedaan maar slecht geregeld ontbijt was ook niet lekker pannenkoekjes waren zeer droog en hard eieren waren zo zacht gekookt dat t water was ook niet katen schrikken dus met het pellen van het ei had je een halv eitje op je bord

Vergane Glorie. Zoals anderen aangaven gedateerd, vuile vloerbedekking. Pluspunten zeer ruim appartement met grote badkamer . Ingewikkelde indeling van het hotel met veel trappen en gangetjes

De vloerbedekking was oud en vies. De tegels bij het toilet waren niet erg schoon.

Dit hotel is echt oud en het was er veel te warm ( waar niks aan gedaan kon worden) en enorm gehorig. Een douchegordijn in de douche vind ik voor een hotel ook niet echt hygiënisch.

Kamer waar wij sliepen was verouderd en 1 bed zakte door. Verder tevreden over service en ontbijt
