Our stay was absolutely awful. Our room had bugs in it, it wasn’t clean, the door to the room kept getting stuck so you had to body slam it to get it open, the AC was coming off the wall the lights barely worked the room smelled like smoke and we had a lizard in our room. When we went up to the front desk to get someone to help at least catch the lizard no one was there after 10pm and no one answered the phone when though we were assured that someone would answer after 10. We were forced to stay the night even though we really didn’t want to and when we went to talk to the property manager the next morning so we could cancel our reservation she laughed at us. I will NEVER stay with Extended Stay Austin Metro ever again
Please update site with what you no longer offer.
I chose this place based on what I was looking for as far as amenities, example, breakfast, pool, etc. based on the description this place was best. When we got there we were told that there was no pool(closed), there was no ice machine, they do not do breakfast anymore.
Didn’t ask my age when I was checking out online and verify that I was 21 before i paid them full price. Once I got there they refused my stay at 8:00pm and did not give me a refund even though i had not been asked any questions regarding my age before paying full price.
Bed bugs , no bathroom door lock .. friendly staff however the property facilities need to be improved . Not recommended for family !!!
Love ot
Terrible
Was nothing like advertised! Smelled horrible! Smelled like weed, cigars and dead animal!Dirty! Never again!
The hotel was totally run down. There wasn't even coffee or a trash can in the room. In the parking lot they had 2 picnic tables & people were making noises & who knows what else late into the night. Traveling as a single woman I felt very unsafe. Hotel staff at check-in was nice. I left the next day at 7 am & there was no staff to be found.
The room was nice, but sofa bed wasn't prepare to be used. No sheets were provided.
When I got there they told me they over booked and said I didn’t have a room then gave me a “deluxe” suite which the freezer door would not shut completely (we couldn’t use the freezer it was room temperature) the room also smelled like mildew worst experience I’ve ever have using Expedia
Warning: This hotel does NOT honor reservations. I booked a room 9 days in advance & read their terms of service carefully before booking, which CLEARLY states check-in time STARTS at 3 pm, you will be charged if you don’t check in by 6pm, check on times are listed & They Do Not Honor Their Own Stated Policies. They Lie & can not be trusted. At 5 pm, as I was about 15 minutes from hotel, they called to tell me they Would NOT honor my reservation, they had OVERBOOKED & reservations are on a “first come, first served basis” Again, their own policy as stated is that check-in time STARTS at -in time iSTARTS at 3pm. Reservations are on a “first come first served”basis?!?! Their website says NOTHING like this - the GM blatantly LIED to me, the company is dishonest & Does Not Honor Reservations! As it was the first day of SXSW, there was no possibility of finding another room in Austin. Do Not Trust This “Hotel” to honor your reservation. The manager threatened to NOT refund my money because of my “attitude” - even tho THEY DID NOT HONOR MY RESERVATION! - I was less than 15 minutes away & would have been there well before 6pm - & their “policies” CLEARY state check-in times & says NOTHING about “first come first served”. Do Not Trust This “Hotel” to honor your reservations. They are dishonest, making a reservation is useless - They Do Not Honor Reservations!!!!
Reservation cancelled by hotel
It was in bad neighborhood and it was dirty. My reservation was not secure and was cancelled by the hotel.
Stuff doesn't work, room stale, uncomfortable, deskperson not attentive, property and rooms need updating badly
The staff are very understanding and accommodating
This was horrible it needs cleaning and also there were roaches crawling the microwave and refrigerator was horrible I’m a travel nurse and it left a really bad impression compared to your other properties it was definitely not worth the money and I was so nervous about the bugs I slept with the lights ON
Scary
Trash everywhere. Every night there was a fight or a party or crackheads around every corner.
Adults running around the parking lot barefoot. Urine on the floor of the elevator. When our elevator opened up on our floor, the was trash throughout the hall and chicken wings all over the floor. Our room had needle caps, and weed stems in the drawers. The room smelled like pee. We got there at 10:15pm to check in and left at 10:30 and had to find other hotel. We would like a refund.
Horrendous! Where to start? I’ll go with the good, First the check in guy super cool, no problems with him…. Our room was cleaner than I expected given the rest of the property. Now the bad, Our room was next to the stairwell, we attempted to use the stairwell as the elevator was filthy, there was a wet flood sign just laying there and sawdust all over the floor. But when we walked into the stairwell it smelled like human feces and urine. I just about vomited and had to turn back to use the elevator. The room keys, we had to have them reset every time we left the room. One time I waited, yelling for a counter clerk for 10 mins and no one ever showed. They were somewhere in the building and finally showed up. The staff doesn’t care, and it shows. Do not stay here. Run!!!
Furniture and appliances in poor condition; TV remote was missing and the replacement they gave me didn’t work. A lot of people hanging out in the halls and lobby and even lying and sleeping on furniture in the lobby. This hotel appears to be in use for providing housing to the homeless, which I think is commendable (and necessary!), but as such it should not be available for tourists. Keep it one or the other but not both. On the plus side, there was plenty of parking, and the coffee was hot (and good), and the property was quiet.
Not that great
The hotel was always loud and I believe people live here on the regular. Hallways constantly had debris in it. Looked they were never vaccuum. Noises all night, inside and outside the room. Bedding was not the best either.
When I arrived to check in at the property it was after dark and there were people hanging around outside the building smoking weed. There was garbage all over the grounds and kids running in and out of the building. A female was sitting inside the building and was staring as if she was high. I felt completely unsafe and left immediately. I would NOT recommend this property.
Worst check in experience. Was overbooked
Clean and great service
Hotel said nonsmoking, but the whole hotel stinks like smoke. Place is very outdated, carpet extremely dirty, bedding was very uncomfortable. If it wasn’t b/c it was already 11:30pm when we got there we would have stayed somewhere else. Never again staying in this brand of hotels.
The hotel is very unkept and dirty. The first thing I noticed was the smell of smoke entering the facility. Secondly, I had the horrible experience of having a dirty pull-out bed that had remains of what appeared to be blood all over the bed. The front office clerk did try to assist me getting another room but informed me that the pull-out bed was also dirty. I canceled my reservation and took my business elsewhere. I am unaware the hotel is an affordable hotel but there is no excuse for this type of deplorable conditions.
This hotel was dirty, had roaches, the smell of marijuana was horrible, definitely will not stay again. Sketchy characters outside not a good area!
Absolutely the WORST hotel I’ve ever booked. It was NASTY. Do NOT book this hotel. There were dead roaches in the room and in the hallway, trash littered everywhere in the hallway. It appears nobody has vacuumed or cleaned the carpets in months. The second you walked into the hotel, you could smell weed. The entire 3rd floor smelled like weed, we had kids with us this stay, that is the only reason I’m complaining about the smell, but it’s posted as a non smoking facility. Austin PD was being called to the property while we were addressing concerns with the front desk, by the front desk. The only good thing I can say about this whole experience, the guy at the front desk was PHENOMENAL. He was so polite, understanding and apologetic for the entire situation that he had no control over. if I could I would give him 10 stars.
Honestly the hotel is good conditions if their can managed the property.
Room had previous guest’s trash. Bed sheets were not replaced, bed was undone. Bath towels were used. I had to go to the lobby to request for bed sheets and towels so i could make my bed, staff did not offer to send anyone to do it. Terrible experience.
Did not have a room for us so we had to leave
Not a good experience
I booked two rooms and when my crew arrived to check in they were told they did not have any rooms available. This is completely unacceptable.
No room service
I didn’t get no clean towels or room service !
it was nice. we stayed 5 days but for 2 days the elevastor was not working..but it was still a nice stay
I am highly disappointed with my stay and my partner was very uncomfortable with the enviornment, the smells, noises that came from the air conditioning unit, and the disgusting curtains that appeared to have been eaten through by moths. Will not be going back there ever again. Have a nice day.
Not 1 trash can in the hotel room. Black mold growing around shower faucet and throughout popcorn ceiling of bathroom. Dishwasher was full of mold. Bullet hole through peephole in door, super scary. Homeless people freely use the common area restrooms. Grab and go breakfast consisted of a total of 2 prepackaged muffins the 1st morning, nothing the 2nd. (Maybe the local homeless people took?) Bathroom door didn’t lock. Outdoor pool was very small, didn’t look like a normal color (too green) and a lot of debris floating on top. Didn’t feel safe being in the pool, let alone being outside in general. Only one person working front desk and only showed when someone rang the bell. It was obvious that they did not want to be working. No cookware was in the room. Had to ask for it specifically and that was provided with hesitation as it required work to fetch the silverware. I will NEVER stay in this hotel again or even in the general area. The room was fairly clean though but above everything, why on earth would they not have trash cans in the room?!?
The rooms are big and kitchen work. The hotel overall is more of a motel..
Convenient location. Foul odors throughout facility, sticky carpets in room, poor customer service. Will not stay here again.
Short on towels, no kitchenware.
Terrible experience…I reserved a room for the weekend weeks before my arrival, I got to the hotel only to be told they were overbooked and had no rooms…They did absolutely nothing to help accommodate me not to mention I had been traveling all day and was coming from out of town…The evening/night worker had no knowledge of how to handle anything at all and to top it off the next day I was charged…TERRIBLE
Not clean
I rented a suite with a pull out sofa for my kids and when we got there the sofa didn't have a mattress in it and the hotel didn't have cookware for me to borrow as advertised. The carpet had stains everywhere too
Look at all the reviews.
I'm usually very skeptical about online reviews, so I decided to give this location a try. I should have done more research. The place is good if you just need a place to stay but definitely dated. Room had an odor like dirty carpet. Floor in kitchen had a rip in it and kept tripping. Bathroom sink drained very slow. Heater and a/c gave funky smell. Beds were decent. Hallways and stairwells always smelled "green". Stairwell door locks didn't work and people would place rocks to hold open. Homeless people sleeping in stairwells. Never had a real sense of security.
Hello Team, Wanted to share the details and experience of our stay in Extended Stay America Suites Austin Metro. We reached hotel at 2:15, however since room was not cleared, we were not given the keys as checkin time starts 3:00 PM. We waited in lobby for 30 min, after traveling 4hrs via car. When we moved to our room, below issues noticed: 1) Room keys did not work, replacement was asked. 2) There was no shower curtain, and on requesting the helper, it was handed to us, to apply ourselves. PFA the picture. 3) we opted for attached kitchen, however there were no utensils or dish cleaning soaps. 4) Kitchen was not clean at all. PFA the images. 5) Room had wet carpet smell. 6) there were no pillow covers, we requested the hotel staff to provide. 7) we booked hotel with kitchen so that we can prepare the food, however because of uncleanliness we had to go out to eat the dinner, breakfast etc. 8) There were less towels. 9) Bathrooms had no lock 10) In Expedia website, it is mentioned Breakfast Included Free. Too much of our surprise, it was just Grab n Go… There were only Coffee and granola bars. 11) No hair Dryers in the room. This is the most bad experience we have had. i hope, all images and above concerns will be shared with the concerned department, and some actions will be taken. We had our small old daughter with us, with no utensils, supplies, we had to go out for milk, food etc.
All good except for breakfast, I was not expecting that it will only be coffee and muffins
So nice, the studio deluxe room is ideal for a long stays
Need my refund
I didnt get to stay because you canceled my reservation by over booking your hotel and i need my refund
I was sold a room with a double bed and a sofa bed. The sofa bed did not have a mattress so myself and my adult son had to share a small double bed. Also the tv did not work and I was told that maintenance would not be able to fix it until after my stay. The manager had taken the weekend off, leaving a junior clerk to tell me there was nothing he could do about the mattress or the tv.
Trash
No dryers, no bath soap. Worst and cheap breakfast
No latch on door. Manager said he knocked on door and we didn't hear the knock and he opened the door popping himself in. Bedside lamps not working. No light in kitchen. No trash can in kitchen. No toilet paper was in dispenser just on toilet. Elevator needs to be adjusted Too wobbly. Need better morning continental breakfast. I hate nutrition bars. "I WILL NEVER STAY OR RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION OR ANY EXTENDED STAY. DIDN'T FEEL SAFE AND HAD SLEEPLESS NIGHT.
Not a great experience
This place didnt match the photos. The room smelled musty and was not maintained. The bed was not comfortable. This is probably the most uncomfortable and nastiest room I have ever stayed in.
TV didn't work
Pay extra to stay somewhere else
Parking lot was fine. Took 5 minutes for someone to check me in. The whole floor smelled like weed. Toilet seat was loose, shower was clogged.
Convient
It was good
It was spacious, but our beds had bed bugs and the smell was terrible, and it looked like they hadn’t clean in a long time.
Need more cleaning people..
I would not come here again.
Room We’re dirty my husband had to go and buy cleaning supply no room service at all room smell like alcohol very dirty had to clean it out self due to the hotel not having room service available
Really enjoyed my interaction with the staff
Water was leaking. Water didnt drain so we had to switch room. Towels were not clean. Dtaff is very helpful
The neighborhood is poverty stricken with numerous homeless begging on each corner. The hotel lacks in all categories. At night the check in clerk is asleep and hard to wake up. No coffee on some mornings and if it was served it was old and cold at 7am. The check in area and hallways have a strong smell of marijuana.
Booked a month ago and when i got to the hotel they said my booking was cancelled!!
Smells, dirty, bed not clean, cracked sink, guests took all muffins and coffee creamer, crooked toilet...
I had to wait over two hours to check-in because the room was not cleaned yet. The wait time ended up ruining my medication that I expected to take to an air-conditioned room. The excess heat and waiting time took a toll on my health while visiting. The room seemed outdated with two of the drawers collapsing and one hanging by a weak screw. The appliances were rusty and seemed to be of the previous century. The front desk staff had no extra towels, toilet paper, or pillows when we went to ask for more. The "fitness center" had no functioning machines and was closed to customers. The only visible water fountains on the property did not work either. The entire stay was filled with noisy hallways and walls, regardless of the time of the day or night. I paid $360 dollars for four nights plus taxes and did not get that value in my experience. I would say the experience was worth $45/night or less with the many reparations and up keeping the entire building seemed to need. The back door was often left open with a rock, even though there was a sign with a warning against doing so. The entire building seemed unsafe especially with the possibility of non-residents possibly having access to rooms. I would not recommend this hotel at all. I stayed here thinking it would live up to the reputation and experience I’ve had at other Extended Stay locations. It did NOT.
Hotel seriously lacks cleanliness
Staffs in hotel reception were nice and informative. Booked room that had a bed and sofa bed for my family. While checking the sofa bed, mattress had stains and some dead flies sticked to it. As we were 4 people, went to reception to get extra pillows, but they had no extra pillows even though hotel room description says 4 people can sleep comfortably. End up sleeping in air mattress that we had in our vehicle. Furniture and lights were also not in good condition. Cabinet with drawer missing, ceiling light in room and bathroom had missing cover. And carpet of the room were not vaccumed. Overall cleanliness of room was very poor. Not just room, passageway carpets and main entrance carpet were also dirty and smell of cigarettes present in certain areas. I recommend everyone reading this review to choose other extended stay hotels which may be little expensive but gives you the comfort and hygienic environment during the stay.
No silverware, plates, cookware. Only rwo pillows for 4 people. No sheets for fold out sofa. Two of the 3 lamps in room did not work. Fridge door was hinged on wrong side. Pool was okay, air conditioner was very good. Toilet seat was lose. Plenty of hot water. Grab and go breakfast was fair.
Bed was comfy, area was quiet I only stayed one night and it did the job. One thing is that they say no smoking, and the whole place smells like smoke. Would stay here again if desperately needed.
Room smelled of smoke, tv remote didnt work, no coffee pot, no iron. Propert just stunk. Horrible guest services i called 10 time no response.
The room was not clean. There was cockroaches in the room. The security lock was removed from a door and someone entered the room without knocking.
Well situated for access to 3 highways
Everything is fine. Room phone didn't work. Couldn't place wake up calls. But its cool.
Great Customer Service
The shower did not work properly. I could not get the shower to come out of the head as the knob to switch it there was broken and water came out both ends. There was no breakfast.
Property was not what was expected. It was run down and smelled like cigarettes.
Overall the property wasn’t bad. The floors in our room were pretty nasty, if you walked around barefoot your feet would be black like you had been walking outside. Room was dark and the lights were barely lit. It’s an extended stay so most of our floor was people who lived in the hotel. It was loud at night and the hallway smelled like weed most of the time. It was super cheap so you get what you pay for, especially in Austin. Decent place to sleep, the staff was very helpful and friendly but I probably wouldn’t stay here again unless I had no other choice.
Was a Dope and Swiss style apartment around the corner from sauce.
The room was definitely a smokers room at one point in time and smelled very badly. I reserved a queen sized bed, received a double bed.
no hot food in breakfast
I was extremely disappointed in this hotel. When we arrived they informed us that the elevator was broken. We got a room on the 2nd floor so it wasn't horrible but inconvenient. The 1stfloor of the hotel smelled of marijuana and the 2nd floor that we were on smelled of cigarettes. We tried going in the back door where you can enter with your key card but it was broken so we had to go in the front and walk to the opposite end to take the stairs and then back to the middle to our room every time, through all the smells. Our room smelled extremely musty/dirty. We ended up having to keep the window partly open our whole stay. There appeared to be black mold above the shower and we only had 2 towels (that were pretty small). I called the front desk to see if we could get some more towels and the woman was rude and short. The bedding was a sheet and then what appeared to be a thicker sheet on top of it. There was no blanket or comforter or anything. The door to our room only worked if you pulled the handle up- which we figured out after pushing it down and slamming our body into the door to get open. On the last day I was checking under the beds to make sure we didn't forget anything and found the central support bar of one bed laying on the floor, not connected at all. I would not recommend staying at this hotel at all.
Did not like the experience of staying in this hotel. I saw roaches on the walls of washroom, unfortunately I could not click picture of that. There were trimmed hair on wash basin. We took this hotel because of kitchen and to our surprise there were no utensils to use the kitchen. Also, I was disappointed with the room cleanliness overall.
Horrible
Sheets had burnt holes on them the carpet was torn up only two towels in the shower. No trash can was available. No housekeeping was available. No blow dryer in room and bathroom was dirty
Bathroom rusted, kitchen greasy, pillows stained, not maintained!
Old matress. The sofa very dirt and look old and not clean
The entire room smelled like smoke, even though it was supposed to be a non smoking facility.
Great property and excellent staff
Disgusting.
Immediately pulling into parking lot felt un-easy. Place reaked of urine and felt and looked like a place that has bed bugs. Immediately, walked back down to lobby to let them know Id not be staying there. They were nice enough to refund my money for the 2nd night.
Sheets were threadbare. Microwave went off by itself in the middle of the night and had to be unplugged. Had to go down to frot desk to borrow coffee maker and dishes. Shower curtain leaked all over floor.
Don’t fall for the
This was definitely not close to where we were supposed to be staying. I feel that i was mislead about the location of this property. i felt unsafe in this area. The staff was the only good thing about this hotel. It felt like we were staying in a halfway house. The entire hotel smelled like smoke, The walls, doors, carpets in hallway etc.. were filthy. Our window and door to our room both would not close all the way. I will not be staying at this chain of hotels ever again.
Locks removed from windows, also has bugs
The first room i got looked like it was prepped to be robbed. The door frame was bent in at the door knob and looked like some one pried it with a screw driver. There were no locks on the windows either and they just swung open. The staff was very kind, but the room we were switched to had a roach in it as well that i had to kill.
Horrible hotel
This was a horrible experience. We didn’t even stay. The smell of cigarettes and marijuana was ridiculous. I went down and told the front desk I smelled cigarettes and she said unfortunately there was nothing they could do about it but that they tell everyone it’s a smoke free hotel. She walked up with me to the 3rd floor and she said “well I can’t pin point where it’s coming from.” Our daughter has asthma and we paid for a hotel that we didnt even stay in. Towels stained, cigarette stains on the walls and counters.
My room had been smoked in. Had holes in the wall and needes to paint the patches. It was unfinished
Definitely needs upgrades. For a six person room we only had 2 towels. Asked for more towels and I had to return the first 2 to get 2 new ones. The rooms had no wastebaskets. The free breakfast consisted of coffee.
Just know that this hotel is not in a great area and their concern about security is low. One day one of the side doors did not work. The next it was kept open by rocks. Manager entered my room, dropped a water tank and let no note. The fire alarm was hanging from the ceiling over the bed. Not a smokeless environment -- be aware what are you are signing up for.
Great Place
This place is always busy and booked so I was happy to be back. The staff was great per usual and my children enjoyed their stay as well.
I was told they couldn't see my rates to see how much it would be to extend my stay then was told the next day they could and to call expedia to get my site rate. I got ants in a cake for a ceremony I was in town for because the parking lot is full of ants. Now I have sugar ants in my trunk because of goodies bags that were left in there from my event. My shower head is broken and there was no stopper to take a bath. The front desk staff is never at the front desk. You have to say hello or excuse me really loud to get someone and they have the nerve to get mad that you don't politely ask them to do their job. There is no bell or call button so what do they expect people to do. On Saturday before my event I got locked out my room and had to wait for over a hour at the front desk. I ended up leaving and going to a friend's house. I told the manager Lisa about all of these issues and she had a smerk on her face like it was funny and fixed NONE of my issues. Me having to squat in a tub to wash my body is funny to her because I checked in Saturday night, Sunday night and Monday night nothing was fixed!
Nothing like advertised
Checked in Friday night and staff had screwed up my reservation. Room smells funky, rug has spots, drawer handle broken, open wall hola, open ceiling hole from old light fixture o guess, dirty sheets with yellow spots, phone room doesn’t work, and top it off with A FREAKING COCKROACH on the floor. No breakfast or amenities due to “COVID” while they still advertise for them when booking. Overall, it’s like living in a garage room. Neighborhood is sketchy, close to major places but still sketchy. Sorry but I was very disappointed in this hotel and will never book there again.
Confusing Arrival; Poorly Maintained Room
When we checked in on 28 May, we were given Room 116, but when we entered, the bed had not been made up (possibly the bathroom was not clean). The woman in charge (?Ashley?) apologized and moved us to Room 108. We discovered that evening there were no blankets for the bed, and it was quite cold. No one was at the desk! I did not know what to do and wandered around, finding the blanket/sheets store room door was unlocked and entered, finding no one. I took some blankets and two cleaner sheets, which made our nights more comfortable. The toilet base was dirty with debris around the edge, and discarded ?deodorant? cap was behind the toilet base, signs of poor cleaning. I was afraid to look under the bed. At one point I had to smash a large (1 inch) cockroach crawling on the wall near the bathroom sink. We were promised a coffee pot and extra silverware. The coffee pot never materialized (the staff said there were not enough to distribute), although some kitchenware items were finally available (but not delivered; I had to keep returning to the desk when I found someone there and collect them). The staff, when we could find them, were friendly and attentive. At the end, we had to leave without checking out. No one was there. I tossed two plastic keys into a clear container on a pedestal; I hoped I did the right thing. Although the hotel was not too far from my son's house, and easy to get to, I am not sure we want to subject ourselves again to the numerous frustrations and disappointments we encountered. In addition, I noticed that the wifi was often weak, or non-existent, and did not seem to work in all parts of the room.
Like was closer to work office, don’t like that someone stole stuff from my tool box. Lady out front seemed bother when asking for stuff like plate, spoon, fork and cup. When asked for extra towels seemed bother as well.
It was great!
Room had trash in it and stuff in the toilet, the second room was smoked upland unbearable.
The rooms are out dated. They are clean but the kitchen needs to be updated!
