A great boutique type of hotel.
We were somewhat demanding guests - worked through our trip so ordered delivery/room service multiple times, needed a steamer on limited notice, and took full advantage of the late check-out afforded to us through Expedia, and Esme truly delivered. The rooms are on the small side but are beautiful (as is the property as a whole). It's walking distance from many of South Beach's best spots. Highly recommend and would stay again.
Excellent attention
When I arrived, I realized I had stayed at this property in 2009. We are very frequent visitors to Miami coming about 10 times every year for short stays and I’m going to stay here again. The rooftop has been completely transformed and the hotel inside as well the staff are friendly. It’s beautiful And near the best shopping and restaurants you could ever imagine.
Check in on the day pf arrival was rather bumpy starting from my rude exchange with brand agent when I called to provide update that we arrived at airport and asked politely if or when our Montanza SUITE (most expensive room on property to my knowledge) and 2nd time staying in it. I was hung up on. Upon arrival the manager was profusely apologetic and neutralized the situation as much as possible but there was an avalamche of guest departures and staff was overwhelmed including housekeeping I presume. Fast forward, we did not have access to suite until after 5 related to prior guest leaving something in locked safe. Unfortunately, I was not called with update. I had to leave pool area to ask manager whats going on. Shortly after we got in. The suite was as we remembered it and everything went smoothly from there. Id like to note that last year at this time we reserved 3 rooms. We have been guests consistently for many years. Without any pretense, it seems to me that it should be noted in a record somewhere that we are repeat guests etc and some accommodations, even small gestures, could be extended. As far as property is concerned, we find it well maintained with exception of stained corridor carpet. The cushions on pool lounges are worn and the pool area is generally overcrowded and uncomfortable. There was an awful smell in the lobby. The Joyce restaurant is overpriced and so/so. We will likely return but I hope to have a reply from management. Thank you
We had to make changes to our reservations and planned activities - I have never seen a harder working staff! They truly worked to modify our accommodations and turned our planning nightmare into a pleasant experience! Thank you so much for going over and beyond.
Nice place
Very good location, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay.
Sexy, sweet place to stay in a great area!
Clean. Great location. Pleasant staff. Comfortable room. Beach chair supplied for a day on the beach, only a short walk away.
The hotel is centrally located in the Art Deco area of Miami Beach. The hotel maintains the Deco feeling and vibe using great colors and decor both inside and out. Our room was literally the smallest room I've ever had at any hotel in over 60 years of travel. I need to pay more attention to the square footage in the future. In addition the bathroom sliding door wouldn't stay closed which was more than little frustrating and room and bathroom lighting was limited so my wife was frustrated with finding good lighting to apply makeup. We also didn't love the pillows provided with the room, hard as rocks. Normally we would expect maid service while we were out but the maid showed up at 4:45 while we were getting ready to go to an event so the room never got refreshed. The hotels associated restaurants are exceptional as are the upstairs pool area and beach access. We would stay here again but with the caveat of a larger more spacious room and we'll bring our own pillows next time.
Clean, great location, friendly staff. Had the single king size bed room, could use a little more closet space.
the only thing i did not like is the high parking charge and resort fee when this hotel is not a resort. add these costs to the room rate at half what you charge.
South Beach Haven
Would definitely stay there again - location is great, staff were wonderful. Access to the beach and bikes and a pool, with a really unique layout. Balcony room is bigger than most Miami rooms. Wish that they offered free coffee in the morning, but the Drexel downstairs was always good.
The room had a musty wet smell and was lacking essential amenities. It was quite small, no space for clothes and the thin doors allowed noise from people passing by at night. While it had a stylish design, it didn't justify the high price. The location and aesthetics were the only positives, it aims for luxury but falls short of expectations.
Great location - close to the beach and with plenty of dining options. That gets a 5-star review - However, room and service did meet that standard - stained carpet and smelly room along with absent front desk staff .. multiple calls for broken AC went to VM. Disappointing experience
Great hotel.
Great hotel but never received the Expedia vip amenity. Purchase the breakfast option as it’s worth it
Amazing decor and service!
Beautiful hotel! Top-notch decor in art deco/Miami style. Comfy beds, excellent service. Rooftop has a great atmosphere. Chairs at the beach were the cherry on top! Bedrooms are small, but they know how to make a great use of each tiny space. Thank you, Esme team!
Beautifully designed hotel in a good area of town.
We had a great time at the hotel. Lobby is cute and smells good. Staff is very friendly and helpful. 4 stars because we were sent to a ground level room that smelled like mold mixed with chlorine. We asked to switch room to the second floor and this one was great !
The location is amazing, and the hotel is really unique and cool. I have nothing bad to say, except that the walls are absolutelypaper thin. If you have someone staying in the floor above you, or in the rooms next to you, you can literally hear everything They’re saying. If someone is walking through the hall late at night, and you were a light sleeper, you will absolutely hear them. It didn’t bother us very much because we just put Rain Sounds on on our phone, but I can see how this would greatly bother someone else.
Yes please!
Top location- off the beach but completely walkable, and the vibe here was perfect. Next to a ton of amazing food options, and the decor was so trendy and cute! Would definitely stay here again.
Great location
Too many hidden fees. Ridiculous. I booked through Expedia. These fees should be explained up front prior to booking.
Perfect location. Walking distance to everything. Will stay again
Boutique cuteness in the heart of it all.
Cure boutique hotel right in the middle of it all. Rooftop was supposed to be open later, but ok. Be prepared for late noise but we loved it. Also know your “bottle of wine” per room is a tiny one serving. Was great for a quick mimosa in the morning.
Horrible tiny room. Not advertised in the photos. Checked out and will not be back to this hotel. I will now be late for my business meeting tomorrow morning.. Very bad customer service !!
Beautifully restored vintage hotel
Everyone on the staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel's layout (cute courtyards!, private pool!) and proximity to beach, shopping, dining is unmatched. I will stay here again for sure :)
the hotel room was freezing.
The decor was amazing. In addition there were multiple restaurant options seconds away. Lincoln mall was very close walk. Also the South Beach express trolley stop was nearby and able to travel for free easily from South Beach to North Beach.
Upon check in, I mentioned free bottle of wine owed. Was acknowledged, but did not receive bottle. I called front desk to ask if it was possibly on the way, no one answers the phone. Rather, they suggest on a voicemail that you email if you need anything from front desk. Really?! Upon emailing the front desk, a fire alarm went off. Apparently this was the 2nd in 12 hrs (the 1st of which was at 2am). At the front desk, no one acknowledged distressed and concerned guests. No direction of where to go for cover, if a false alarm, etc. Instead, yhe woman working the front desk grew irritated by questions from guests about what to do. She was so rude, I had to walk away. But not before demanding I get my free “bottle” (miniature sized) of wine. Great location. Tiny rooms. Rude service. Do better. That, or don’t work in the service industry!
Cute boutique hotel but very poor lighting. Halls and rooms were extremely dark. There was no desk to put things and no convenient place to charge phone. I was surprised by the high rating of this hotel. The only outstanding thing was the rooftop bar, which had a cool atmosphere and great bar and bartender. The front desk staff was also very good.
Staff and service was excellent. Rooms are very small and hotel is loud in general. On check out day, staff was eager to get me out of the room, knocking about 3 times within 20 minutes.
A must stay for South Beach. Close to everything
Highly recommend
Excellent hotel with lots of charm and a terrific location!
Will be back every time in in Miami’s now what a small Gorgeous well ran property , such a vibe in little Havana
Could be excellent
Esme Miami Beach has many things going for it, but unfortunately many things that hold it back too. I’ll start with the pros: Location is great, Española Way is a cool location and it’s a stones throw from the beach. Rooftop bar, this is excellent and by far the best thing about the hotel, nice little pool there and comfy seating. This is a lovely setting. Now for the cons: Room size. The rooms are tiny, we had a superior king room with a balcony and the room itself was tiny and the balcony was so small it was unusable. Bathroom, every time we used the sink or flushed the toilet a high pitched squeak would start and last about 5 minutes, very annoying. Noise, part of the location is also a con. The bars and restaurants play very loud music until about 1am and the rooms soundproofing was abysmal. The balcony doors didn’t seal when they were shut so let a huge amount of noise in. This absolutely ruined our sleep quality. The walls are also very thin, we could hear the people in the room next door snoring as if they were in the room with us. Maid service, this was inconsistent and usually done very late in the day. Towels and linens were tatty and frayed which also wasn’t ideal. This place could be an excellent hotel experience, but ultimately a lot lets it down. Not sure how Michelin are scoring hotels but a 1 key hotel doesn’t match up to a 1* restaurant.
This hotel exceeded my expectations! From the trendy atmosphere to the exceptional service, everything was top-notch. Can’t wait to return!
Esmé offers a perfect mix of luxury and comfort. The food at the restaurant was delicious, and the ambiance is ideal for a relaxing getaway.
Such a charming and unique place! The staff was incredibly friendly, and the attention to detail in the decor really sets this hotel apart.
I loved everything about this hotel! The location is perfect, just steps from the beach, and the rooms are beautifully designed and super cozy.
Esmé is an absolute gem! The boutique vibe and stylish decor made my stay unforgettable. The rooftop pool and bar were amazing!
Cute and quaint!!
Excellent! Enjoyed the hotel!
Our cruise arrived in Miami in the morning and we had a very late 11pm flight and loads of luggage. We could have gone on a tour, but we decided to take an Uber to Esme instead. Because of out VIP status, and because a room was available, we got early check in. The room was lovely and exactly what we needed for some rest. Great rated restaurants just steps away. The rooftop patio was amazing for lounging and cocktails, we went shopping just a walk a ways with my daughter's fave stores, and managed a few hours at the beach with towels and two lounge chairs included. Our only regret is that we didn't spend the night and stay longer. On our list for a future cruise for a few days before.
We absolutely loved it! Pool, bar, location, room - it was all amazing
Quaint, less crowded area.
Gorgeous. Location is perfect. Absolutely will be back.
Good location, nice hotel snd service; our room was smaller than our cruise cabin but got used of it.
Nice
It's my second time staying at Esme and I love the design. However it needs serious maintenance and upgrades. The carpets are dirty. The hotel is booked to the max and always busy. The rooms are noisy which could be partially fixed by fixing the gap on the door rooms. The rooms could have been cleaner too, as could the pool and common areas. The food on property is subpar, which is really a pity. It seems staff turnover is very high which is a sign of poor management.
Lapull
Tight but very nice room
Will be staying here again
Absolutely love everything about the hotel, staff & location!
Location
I love the Esme! This is our second time staying here. The staff is friendly and helpful. The property is clean and centrally located to everything you need.
Expedia advertised this hotel as a VIP property for me but it was average at best. We expected to receive a free wine bottle as a perk but this never happened, I reminded 2 separate receptionists but the customer service was lifeless at the front desk. No personality or emotion. I think someone may have meant to be at the front door to help guests with bags, at least to help guests with the door, but over 5 days this person helped us only once, Otherwise just stood there. A notice about next day checkout was left in our room 2 days before our scheduled checkout, the front desk reply was “no we have you checking out the right day in the system”. No explanation or apology for the mix up with notice. We called down to the front desk to ask about contacting room service and the reply we received was “uh, it should be around in your room, uh, somewhere”. We actually stopped asking for help or asking questions altogether after 2 days since customer service was so bleak. After all this, the rooms feel smaller than one may expect from a few hundred sq feet because the square footage is not where you’d expect it be to pass through a room without bruising your legs or stubbing a toe on the furniture. The worst and final note is the sounds. I must’ve been wrong in expecting soundproof rooms because you can hear all voices and footsteps from the hallway. The room door rattles when another closes. There’s various electric beeps and hums throughout the night, a neurodivergent nightmare.
Great location. I stayed at Casa Mantanza, which was separated from the main building. I loved it because it was at the quite end of Española Way and felt more private. It was an easy walk to anywhere I wanted to go. The staff was very nice and attentive.
In the details regarding this hotel it said there was parking on the premises. That was why we chose this hotel. There is NO parking on the premises only street parking IF you can find it. So we had to pay valet parking for each day, not knowing where they were parking our car.
Beautiful hotel!
The VIP amenity of a bottle of wine was a warm mini bottle of Prosecco. Also it was not clear that there were various properties and it was a block and a half from reception to where our room was.
The Esme is a charming community in itself. Unfortunately, my room was ridiculously small and so it was a good thing I was only there overnight. Also the small bathroom had little counter space at the sink. The phone did not work so I could not call down to the front desk with another problem which was with my A/C. The carpet in my room was dirty.
Teeny tiny shoebox rooms but great location!
Well, like other reviewers mentioned, super super tiny room. Could basically reach my arms out and touch the door from the bed. No table space or bathroom counter space, barely anywhere to put a phone much less a nightstand. We worked out of luggage on the floor. Carpet was meh, wasnt sure I wanted to put my feet on it without shoes. Location was GREAT tho, right above Espanola way, but still pretty quiet tho we were on the far side from Espanola.
LOVED the hotel aesthetic and the area! Got sick during my trip so unfortunately was unable to enjoy the area and amenities, but hope to return one day!
Wonderful place! Love the vibes and relaxing style.
Cute stay
Great location and beautiful hotel. My room was really nicely designed and clean. I didn’t use the pool, but that area was also cute. Made use of the beach access/ chairs, which was a 5 min walk. Additionally the staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.
4th time stay at this hotel. It provides the best value for the dollar in terms of location and walkability to ocean drive and surrounding areas.
Thanks for the stay
Great location and good service. Beds were not very comfortable. Stairwell doors didn't have springs so heard the door slamming shut throughout the night. Coffee maker wasn't plugged in and would have needed to move armoire in order to plug it in.
My husband and I were enthusiastic about staying at Esmé. I arrived alone initially and was greeted with a warm welcome. Upon entering my room I noticed there was not a microwave so I phoned to request one. I was told it would be dropped at my room. A few moments later I received a call from their operator stating they actually have 0 microwaves on site which I thought was was odd. After speaking with them the phone in my room would no longer allow me to reach an operator or anyone at their front desk. There was sand in my bed in between the linen and pillows. Only one micro trash can and my hallway was a bit noisy but that didn’t bother us too much because they cannot control that. There are a ton of earring plans very close by and walkable. We would say the best thing about esme isn’t the hotel or amenities but rather the very close proximity to everything around it. Not a horrible experience but we wouldn’t recommend.
Art deco gem
The property is centrally located and there are several restaurants in the surrounding area. The room is extremely small. My sister and I shared a room with 2 double beds and it was extremely cramped.
Better than the pictures. The location is amazing and convenient. Excellent service
Great hotel. Reception staff were very friendly. Parking easy. Room was clean and tidy. Perfect location for South Beach.
Property was beautiful. Rooms were kind of small but nice. Didn't like that there was no microwave
Amazing! The staff was warm, welcoming, and always available to help. My room was a dream, beautifully decorated, incredibly clean, and super comfortable ;)
The hotel is nestled on a vibrant street but still felt like a peaceful oasis. The staff went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. My room was stylish, well-appointed, and spotless. The rooftop bar and pool added an extra touch of luxury. I’ll be recommending this place to everyone I know.
The team was friendly and made sure every detail was perfect. My room was spacious, with thoughtful touches and pristine cleanliness. The hotel has a beautiful atmosphere. Definitely a must-stay for anyone visiting South Beach!
This hotel was absolutely stunning! Esmé has such a unique vibe, and the location on Española Way made exploring South Beach so easy. The service was top-notch; the staff was welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. My room was cozy and spotless, with elegant decor and a super comfortable bed. I can’t wait to come back!
Esmé is a wonderful hotel with so much charm! The staff was attentive and always eager to help. My room was beautifully designed, blending vintage and modern styles, and it was immaculately clean. I loved the rooftop pool, it was the perfect spot to unwind.
Cute- definitely eat at the restaurant
The little compound of buildings are very cute. It has a hip vibe with cute decor that is not luxurious but cool. The restaurant at the Drexel is fantastic and the service is fantastic. My room was a little bit small and there wasn’t enough lighting and the light that was inside the fan was flickering, so it was really distracting. The rooms are not very soundproof so if you’re looking to rest in the rooms, it’s not ideal. The maid make a lot of noise in the hallways during cleaning hours in day. My check-in process took some time because there was a lot of people at the front desk at 4 PM, but the manager was very accommodating and gave me a nice quiet corner room. Overall a nice stay for the price.
After checking out an additional $547 was charged to my account. I called the property to get this corrected, the person I spoke with could not tell me the reason for the charge & said she would get her manager & call right back. After not hearing from anyone 3 hours later, I called back only to be told they did not see a request for a manager. The new representative also could not tell me the reason for the charge. There was no longer a manger available for the day & this is yet to be rectified.
Interesting hotel. The front door is non descript and when entering the hotel, it’s beautiful. Roof top bar is gorgeous with comfy couches.
Very much enjoyed our stay at Esme Miami Beach. You walk into numerous reasturants and shops and beach are only blocks away. Chairs and towels are complementary at the beach. You need to pay for an unbrella.
Unique features, friendly and accommodating staffs plus the ambience of the hotel and restaurants nearby was very refreshing. Highly recommended.
The on-property bars were spectacular and the valet parking was great.
Lovely accommodations, fun cocktail bar, awesome roof top. Complementary bikes and locks made for a fun way to get around Miami Beach for the day. Just make sure to check the tire pressures before leaving!
Pretty. Beautiful. Nice people. Close to the public parking. Use that and not the hotel valet would be my suggestion. I did not try any of their dining options sadly. I wanted to go to the roof top too and missed that too :( Espanola way is just wow at night and the rooms are probably sound proof. So I got best of both !!
This hotel was wonderful. It is a bit small, but conveniently located. The resort fee covers the cost of lounge chair and towel rental at the nearby beach. They also have free bikes to use, which is a fantastic adventure in Miami. I strongly recommend.
Reserved room two months before stay. They overbooked and lied when we checked in. Immediately told us that our room had been trashed the night before and they could t give us another room. Carted us immediately off the property to another hotel that they booked for us 10blocks away. Thought ok, things happen, until our friends checked in about three hours after and they did the same thing to them. Lies all lies!
Amazing area and vibe. Beautiful architecture! Spanish feel. 5 stars
My room was well-decorated and very comfortable, and I appreciated how attentive and professional the staff was. This hotel is perfect for anyone looking for a mix of style, comfort, and convenience.
Esmé really impressed me with its feel and excellent service. The room had a chic design with comfortable furniture and everything I needed. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was pleasant. The hotel’s location is unbeatable!! just a short walk to the beach and all the best spots in South Beach. Would definitely come back!
The room was cozy yet luxurious, with unique decor that gave it character. The location couldn’t have been better, it’s right in the middle of the action, but my room was quiet enough to relax. The staff made me feel welcome and were quick to respond to any requests. A hidden gem in South Beach!
This hotel exceeded my expectations! The service was outstanding—every staff member I encountered was warm and attentive. My room was spotless and had a charming vintage feel, but with modern amenities. The central location was perfect for exploring South Beach, and I felt safe walking around the area even at night. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Miami.
Excellent experience! Clean room! Nice environment! Loved it!
Best location nice place i will go again
Restaurants closed before posted times and they cleaned our room so late. Phone was broken so no way to contact from the room - had to go to lobby.

Great area and beautiful boutique hotel
